When the Normans conquered England, Deorwynn lost almost everything, including her family. Only one beloved brother survives. After spending fifteen years in a grim convent, punished for every sinful thought, Deorwynn can withstand anything.
But nothing, she soon learns, could prepare her for falling in love.
Guy Devaux is delighted with the amorous virgin waiting for him on his wedding night. There’s only one problem. The saucy-mouthed wench is not his bride. Oh yes, he knows the veiled woman in his bed is an imposter, but he’ll go along with the game. For now.
Just as soon as he conquers this foolish desire, this yearning to hear her say she loves him.
Georgia Fox lives in the countryside on twenty peaceful acres. Harsh in the winter, but heavenly in the summer. She loves good company, good movies, good books and excellent brandy. She enjoys sun in the mornings, but in the late afternoon it makes her sad. Her favorite kind of holiday is a cabin surrounded by woods on a private tidal cove. In her life she’s done a little bit of everything and somehow lived to tell the tale.
She doesn’t believe in fairies, ghosts, flying saucers or conspiracy theories. But she still believes in love.
Do not try to downgrade the stars on this review! I know how you think, so don't try any of your little rationalizing excuses or tricks. You know this novella was enjoyable so don't front and don't try to rewrite history. You liked this. 3 stars means You Liked This. Don't try to pretend otherwise.
I'm watching you, Past-Mark
this is the 5th of 5 erotic e-novellas that i enjoyed reading a couple weeks ago while stuck in sweltering DC. of the five, this was the most professionally written. it was witty, the dialogue was often funny, i liked the coughhistoricalcough setting, the narrative flowed smoothly, and the non-sex scenes were not filler - they were enjoyable to read and i did not rush through them to get to the next bit of sex. overall it perfectly accomplished its admittedly minor goals. really, there is nothing i can complain about The Virgin Proxy. ok, so let's talk about my dick.
wait, maybe a synopsis first. the place: Merrie Olde Englande. the time: i dunno, whenever those Normans took down the Saxons. when was that? the plot: Deorwynn is a Saxon and an independent, free-thinking and very pleasingly cheeky young miss who is stuck in a convent. Virgin Proxy opens up with her getting some mild punishment for some typical high-spirited tomfoolery (in this case, publicly baring her derriere). the plot kicks in when some sappy twit asks Deorwynn to accompany her on a trip to marry Studly Young Alpha Male slash Grouchy Norman conquerer Guy Devaux. the plan: substitute Deorwynn as the sappy twit's "Virgin Proxy" on the wedding night, because the sappy twit is no virgin. spoiler, we soon find out that she actually isn't that much of a sappy twit. how will this substitution be accomplished? apparently through the use of a bunch of veils. ok it is clear that a brain trust did not come up with this plan. but a plan is a plan and an erotic novella needs some kind of plan to kick-start all the sexy shenanigans. now Guy Devaux is no genius, but he soon realizes that some sort of sexy subterfuge is afoot. he's a formerly blue-collar mercenary raised in rank, and his background as a notorious ladykiller means that this pussyhound is not going to be fooled so easily. despite all this, he somehow finds himself - SURPRISE! - falling in love with this adventurous Saxon with a sassy mouth and a rockin' bod. she challenges him in all the right ways. say it ain't so! well, it is so.
do you get uncomfortable when people talk about what turns them on and what turns them off? i sorta do. in my 20s this was a common enough topic amongst my friends. well i'm not in my 20s now and my friends are more likely to talk about the cool circular saw they just bought or how it's tough to be a boss or when they plan on having a second kid. when my folks or my sister or my colleagues talk about their sexual interests, i often get a little creeped out, tune out, and go to my happy place until they're finished whining and/or salivating all over themselves. i should probably feel just as uncomfortable here on Goodreads, right? it is a public place. i have real life friends as Goodreads friends. and my sister has actually spyed on me from time to time and used Goodreads as a good place to find me ideal gifts. my God, the mother of the girl whose wedding i officiated this summer is one of my Goodreads friends (hi, Nancy!). so yeah, i should probably feel uncomfortable talking about my sexual predilections in such a public forum, and i should definitely feel uncomfortable talking about The Virgin Proxy's sex scenes in any great detail.
so anyway, here are my dick's responses to each of the novella's sex scenes, using a 1-5 Boner Scale.
(number of boners does not imply multiple boners achieved, but rather the strength of the boner in question)
⇧⇧⇧⇧ 4 Boners for Scene One. this one is all about not having sex. a girl taking a bath. a guy watching her take a bath. a girl taking care of herself while taking that bath. a guy taking care of himself while watching that girl take care of herself while taking that bath. a guy getting all worked up and a pervy meet-cute when he can't help but forcefully introduce himself and she can't help but appreciate the introduction. there's no real sex here, no pounding or anything like that, just some really heavy breathing and the adroit use of fingers and tongue. the girl's still a virgin at this point, so there's not much that can happen. and yet this was a great scene. i imagined myself as the dude, and that was hot. i imagined myself as the chick, and that was sorta hot too.
⇧⇧⇧ 3 Boners for Scene Two. this is the Wedding Night, and it is a pretty long scene. a lot gets accomplished. no anal, but that's great because people should really save some things for later. i liked this scene; it got the job done. it had a slight nonconsensual feel to it, mainly because Guy is one of those apparently adorable caveman types that the ladies gush over - but i want to emphasize slight. this story is NOT rapey. Guy may be a rather immature bully at times, but Deorwynn clearly likes to get off, and she likes to get off with Guy. she likes to enjoy herself. and i enjoy that about her!
next, a lot of saucy dialogue and a lot of angsty stuff from both parties. some amusing banter along the lines of Guy Devaux: "I own you, serf!" Deorwynn: "No you don't, no one owns me, Alpha-Asshole!" Guy Devaux: "Oh you feisty thing you, you'll see who's the boss!" Deorwynn: "I already know who the boss is and her name is Deorwynn!"
⇧⇧⇧⇧ 4 Boners for Scene Three. this was mainly a lot of sexy banter on a couch, lots of candles everywhere, with Guy all naked already and Deorwynn slowly stripping, and then both of them getting off in front of each other. oh, and Guy's bro Thierry is standing hidden in the corner, strokin it. these friends believe in sharing everything. i wish i had friends like that! anyway, i responded well to this scene and maybe it was because there was no graphic pounding. it was explicitly sexual, but it was not straight-up sex. cool.
⇧⇧ 2 Boners for Scene Four. Thierry and the not-really-a-sappy-twit get it on while Guy and Deorwynn are watching from behind a screen or something. then Guy and Deorwynn get it on because they are all worked up. i think that's pretty reasonable. there's some 69-ing that was acrobatic and that was sorta hard for me to picture. overall this wasn't bad, but nothing i'd add to my spank bank.
okay so by this point, no one is fooling no one and both parties agree that they are - SHOCKER - madly in lurve and they wanna get married. good job kids, the best relationships always start off with honesty. i approve!
⇧⇧⇧ 3 Boners for Scene Five. some al fresco sex up against a tree, etc. so this scene must be what the cover image is for, since Thierry gets involved. this happens (1) as some kind of test for Deorwynn and Guy that was really hard for me to wrap my mind around and (2) because Guy and Thierry are best buds and they really, really believe in sharing. except Thierry has to do some al fresco ejaculating because as far as that goes, Deorwynn's interior is Husband Only. Deorwynn has no problem with any of this and has a good time. Thierry has a good time. Guy has a good time. and there's no boring drama that comes out of it. i like how these people think!
at one point Guy tries to be all I Am The Dominant One and forbids Deorwynn from coming with Thierry. to which Deorwynn responds: "I'll come when I like and as often as I like. With or without you..." while keeping up the pace on Thierry. you go, girl.
and then a Happy Ending with much declarations of love. and later, a Happy Pregnancy. awww.
overall, definitely a couple scenes for me to contemplate later.
3.5 Stars. This was the first story in the series - I read the second story first but it didn't matter. I really like the way Georgia Fox writes. It moves quickly and very interestingly. Lady Sibilia is to be married, however, she is not a virgin and in fact is already pregnant. She devises a plan for another to take her place on the wedding night. Deorwynn is a virgin and sees this as an opportunity to escape the convent. She is of noble heritage but this is not known by others. Guy, the intended groom, falls in love with Deorwynn as soon as he sees her and realises the game the two women are playing. He decides to play a game of his own! The only thing I had trouble with in this story was the casual attitude that everyone seemed to have towards sex, even the hero after he realises he's in love with the heroine. There is a really lovely, tender moment when Deorwynn, the heroine, speaks openly and honestly to Guy the hero about how hurt she feels that he would easily share her with another man. The second story in the series follows on just a day or two after this one finishes and is a great read.
What a refreshing story! Deorwynn, the main character, is nothing like any other female heroine. She’s naughty, feisty, saucy, with a great sense of curiosity and daring. She’s not weak though she has a tender side that she tries to hide at all costs, mainly from the male protagonist, Guy Devaux.
Guy is a boy, turning into a man. He’s in his twenties and life for him is all about fun and taking as many women he can, until he meets Deorwynn in one of the most exciting scenes I have ever read. Guy falls head over heels for her but he resists his own feelings because he fears becoming an old respectable man, according to him “the hardest mission he’d ever undertaken”.
Ms. Fox has an incredible way with descriptions, making each sex scene unique and varied. The story has a quick pacing due to the clear attraction of the characters. I couldn’t stop reading, eager to know what Deorwynn would do to displease and arouse Guy.
The secondary characters, Thierry and Sybilia, are also worth mentioning. They're well drawn, complete and three dimensional and add meat to the plot.
The Virgin Proxy was a story that kept me hooked from beginning to end. I will definitely be looking for this author’s next work which happens to be all about Deorwynn’s innocent older brother, Wulf.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It is an erotica based story that just so happens to make it across the 100+ page mark. This is a short story that manages to have more of a plot line to it than others. This story also reminds me of another story "Bound by Honour" except that one was suppose to lead along the fairy tale "Robin Hood" and this is solely on the aspect of being Historical in nature. Where the first failed to sate my senses with this story did just that.
The female was a strong woman and yes, the lead "Guy" was a true alpha randy tramp. But what makes this story likable to me are the following elements that stand out:
- The guy wasn't dumb and naive of what was going on. In fact he clearly waited out to find out everything before going off and hanging someone.
- Also, the guy was clearly struggling with his self and it wasn't written through his inner dialog either. Clearly showing this struggle benefited my over favor for this tell.
- The three dimensional story weaved solidly between events and the progression to the story's final climax.
- The heroine was a rebellious girl with the need to be defiant; this fact was evident throughout the story. The best part was that by saying that she was rebellious and defiant did not come to the value of her being a bitch. So often I find these women just be created that way instead of this way.
- The heroine also was no dummy and could hold an intelligent thought of her own. She too was well aware of the people around her (except while in the throes of some lustful scene).
- Probably the most important element, or lack thereof, she did not overly snort, cackle, guffaw, squeal, squeak, squaw, chortle, giggle like some idol insignificant teenager, snigger, heehaw, crow, or laugh in any other way like a sound that would be considered as from live stock; quack, gobble, gibber, or cluck. I don't know why this is such an issue with me, it just is.
- Finally, there were not any overly abused drama themes in this story. The jealousy was surprisingly added appropriately, conflicts were done with amusing light bantering, and no overly written dialog regarding how beautiful she was. If anything, this female lead was more of an ideal girl next door that appealed most to "Guy" and his other part, the little big "Guy"
It was a good solid story, not too long and not too short.
Loved it!! Super hot, super arrogant lord of the castle takes what he wants and buggers the rest of them. NICE! Serioulsy thought this was a pretty sexy book, if you are looking for a steamy read, read this. Phew I need a shower.
The Conqueror's series continues with The Virgin Proxy, which carries on Georgia Fox's tradition of wickedly spicy novellas with a menage twist! However, where as book one seemed a bit more hurried and focused more on the (very heated) sex between the characters, TVP lingers more on the budding relationship and a longer storyline.
Deorwynn has lived the past 15 years of her life within the stiff confines of the convent, punished often for her defiance to authority and her sins. Now, with her father dead and her only remaining family member (an older brother) in prison, her chances of escaping the hell-hole that is her own prison are now close to nil--and the sisters are prepared to make her a nun!
Sybilia, another young woman being kept there at the convent, offers Deorwynn another option--she'll take Deorwynn with her when she leaves a few days later, traveling to her husband-to-be. Deorwynn is not fond of Sybilia, but the offer for freedom is very tempting. There is just one catch: Sybilia requires Deorwynn to be her handmaiden....oh,and to stand in as a proxy for her on her wedding night to the Norman lord. Deorwynn is a virgin, Sybilia, however, is not, and fears the wraith of her husband for not being untouched.
Upon reaching Guy's keep, Deorwynn begins to wonder what she's gotten herself into. Their first night there, she meets the lord himself while bathing--thought at the time he thinks her to be his betrothed and she thinks him to be her dream lover. After a very heated scene in the bathing room, Guy is the first to realize his mistake, though he doesn't regret it; Deorwynn is not aware of who he is until her formal introduction to him the next day before the wedding ceremony. Guy, a man who has previously been unable to stick to one woman for longer than it takes to bed her, is intrigued by this simple Saxon "pheasant". He has to have her. He makes a sudden, and unexpected decision, mere hours from his marriage to Sybilia. This decision will result in their marriage being easily broken later on, should Guy wish to tell her father what he did (only Guy and Thierry know about it). He doesn't yet realize exactly why he does this, but his trusted friend, Thierry, knows that Guy is finally starting to fall for a woman.
Deorwynn of wexford has lived in the covent since she was 6 and always caused trouble. She never listened and believed she would not die in this covent a virgin. She was going to escape and find a man because she had nothing to give to a man because her land was taken away by the Norman swine as she called them. Sybilia another girl in the covent was betrothed to an arrogant Norman Lord as the stories were told of him. But this lord requested that she be a virgin, Sybilia was no longer a virgin and asked Doerwynn to be her handmaiden and proxy on their wedding night since they both look alike and Sybilia said she could wear a veil and he wouldn’t know the different because guys are stupid. Sybilia told Doerwynn that she was in love with another man and that is who she really wants to be with and who she lost her virginity to. Deorwynn agreed because this was her change to get out of the covent and never come back.
Guy Devaux is the Norman lord who is to wed Sybilia but he didn't realize which one was Sybilia until the wedding day because the night before he ran into Deorwynn and was instantly attracted to her but they never said who they were to eachother. Guy didn't want to be with Sybilia and was after Deorwynn who hated Norman men. On Guy's wedding night the girls switched places but Guy knew they did and played along, because to keep something this secret had to be very important and he wanted to find out why. He like Deorwynn because she spoke her mind and she didn't care of the consequences even though women were never suppose to do that. Guy kept after Doewynn and calling for her instead of Sybilla because he couldn't get her out of his mind. Even though Guy wanted Deorwynn he didn't realize how much he wanted her. Doerwynn cared for Guy but also hated him at the same time.
I loved this story. The way Guy would get mad at Deorwynn for speaking her mind but also love her because of it, because during that period it was unheard of. Also Doewynn's story of her land being invaded by the Normans also gets reveled. It is a great story to read.
This is the book you pick up if you like a little medieval history woven in with your scorching hot romance. The premise had me curious so I got this. It was a light romp in some ways, but spent a great deal of time with the hero and heroine hot and heavy.
Deorwynn has been told by the nuns that now that her father is dead and there is no hope of a husband she must take her vows. The trouble is that Deorwynn is a feisty and lusty Saxon lady in the new England of the Conqueror. Another girl at the convent offers her the chance for an out. She can both avoid being a nun and maybe find a way to free her youngest brother from the king's prison. All she has to do is trade places with the bride on the wedding night.
Naturally, once Deorwynn arrives at the castle where her deception must take place all does not go according to plan. For one, she and the Norman bridegroom, Guy Daveax, get up to something the night before the wedding and she turns his head and full attention to herself. For another, Guy is not fooled in the least by the disguised woman in his bridal bed. He plays along, but intends to discover exactly why the deception has been made.
As I said it was a scorching romp that was light on plot and historical backdrop, but heavy on the erotic passion. Lots of things are explored between Deorwynn and Guy including voyeurism and multiple partners. It felt rushed at the end though the result was just what I wanted.
There is something to be said for a opinionate wench, especially in a historical romance. Deorwynn is no simpering woman to obey the commands of a man, while as a woman she may not have a lot of choices she has enough and she’ll make them work for her. She never whines about her fate but instead takes what fate gives her and enjoys her life to the best of her ability.
Guy is like most men in history taking what he wants, thinking it’s deserved to him. Women are beneath him or so he thinks until a captive beauty curses him. I really didn’t want to like Guy but the author did such detailed job of explaining the history that the way he thinks makes sense. Plus his arrogance only added to his inevitable fall because really who can withstand Deorwynn.
There was no instant love but instead an instant dislike that was confused by the electricity arcing between Deorwynn and Guy. Needless to say this made for some really good and fun dialogue. Everything was well paced even the passion, never allowing you to get bored but not going so fast that you get thrown out of the plot. I was so enthralled with this book and the characters that I hated to see it end. I look forward to the next book involving Deorwynn’s brother.
I'm not sure where to start on this HR novella. I really thought from the premise that I was going to like this book. Unfortunately, it just didn't work for me. Quite honestly the "Hero" was a childish, selfish, egotistical, jerk from beginning to end. I didn't care for him in the slightest and the heroine really didn't garner any sympathy from me at all. Maybe if the story had been longer the author would have been able to humanize these characters but alas it didn't happen for me. The sex to me, was sex for the sake of sex. It was pretty hot but as a reader I couldn't really get behind the feeling that these characters could "fall in Love" in 4-5 days as a result of the somewhat demeaning sex they were sharing. And then he shares her with a friend???? Sorry - that just didn't work for me and I have read other books where menages have happened and I could still believe there was real feeling between the characters. It just didn't happen for me with this book.
The positive points: The romance was fiery, showcasing the wildness of both the hero and the heroine. Their physical attraction was clear, and Georgia Fox's descriptions of their sex were varied and vivid, with period-appropriate terminology which added to the atmosphere. The pacing was strong, and the book did not flag. The ending was satisfying, with Deorwynn well-settled into her new life, enjoying her new love. The growth of Guy was equally enjoyable, and his behavior was consistent and believable, given his established personality.
The negative points: There were not many, as Georgia Fox's style is easy and polished, her command of her characters strong and good. The largest difficulty was in the anachronistic behavior of the hero. A fear of "settling down" in marriage would not have been a feeling that a Norman of the period would have.
Oh My Gosh, this book was awesome. It was romantic, sweet, erotic and funny all rolled into one. Georgia Fox really out did herself on this book and I love the cover. I enjoyed reading the back and forth banter between to the two characters and them trying to figure out who knew what and which lies to keep up with. The author also leaves little mysteries throughout the story that all comes together very nicely towards the end. Watching the lies and games slowly turn into love was the sweetest thing. I really wish I could give The Virgin Proxy more than 5 stars but I do know that I will be reading more of Mrs. Fox's work.
Outstanding historical romance. Have an ice pack handy for your e-reader or it may melt. This is one erotic read.
Heroine Deorwynn agrees to step in for a friend on her wedding night to one of the ruling Norman conquerers Guy Devaux , as she is a virgin, to escape the monotonous misery of living in a convent. Her plans to go free after the wedding night fall apart.
Devaux is onto the scheme.
This is a fun and fast read, and you will wonder how Deorwynn will get out of this mess, as well as the deceptive "real" bride.
4 1/2 Stars ~ We met Deorwynn in The Ever Knight, she was Jisella's best friend in the convent. The nuns had tried to crush her spirit but they'd failed. There's something about Guy that has her forgetting her place and she constantly challenges him. Guy is smitten with her, though he doesn't realize it until his best friend starts to show interest in her. Deorwynn and Guy have such strong personalities. It was fun reading their verbal sparring and their smoking chemistry. I'm very much looking forward to reading more from these two.
This was more fun than I expected. Usually, the whole Norman/Saxon theme is wrought with more violence than humor and sass. A lot of smexy action going on including some voyeurism and spanking in this entertaining gem. Plus there were a bunch of subtle elements of the time that were well done and unobtrusive.
I love Deorwynn!!such a funny character, she was a hellion and even with all her bravado she was sweet. Guy Devaux was surprising…. At the beginning I thought he was way older but as the story unravels we discover he’s young and that youth is what makes him act like a brute. I hated the Norman chick “what-ever her name is” , but thanks to her we got a funny sexy story !
2021 READ: 3 STARS! I wondered really if I should continue the series.
My review is not for intelligent discussion. It's what I felt/thought while reading the book. For 2021, I would rate the book this way: 1 - DNF'ed 2 - does not exist 3 - did not like 4 - it was okay 5 - I like it / I enjoy reading it (but it doesn't mean I recommend it)
4.5 out of 5. This is really a story that is in the style of the old English historicals that were really popular several decades ago and which are now making a comeback. The ancient angers that kept Saxons and Normans apart for generations are alive and well in this story. It is a tale that is full of color and pagentry, mixtures of kindness and cold-hearted brutality, loyalty and betrayal, goodness and greed. It is the story of a woman whose heart is bruised by the realities of a possible future that continues the bleakness of her empty life, whose hope for a family to replace the one she lost in war and agression looks to remain unfulfilled, and whose kindness and giving nature can only seemingly be fully expressed as she seeks to repatriate a son whose father has never forgiven him for his mother's death. Fifteen years of not so hidden brutality in a convent and at the hand of religious who should have known better have prepared Deorwynn to never expect kindness, to always believe that she will be the underdog, and to never look for any kind of love.
I found this novel to be more enjoyable than I expected and the work of an author I had not previously encountered. It was well-written and researched, yet the liveliness of the times, the no-holds-barred nature of life lived on the edge of survival, and the raw nature of human relationship jump off the pages and captures the imagination of the reader. There is sexual tension throughout and the slow burn that goes on in the characters keeps the reader on edge as well. It's one of those stories I found very hard to put down. As I first read Ivanhoe a long time ago and loved it, I think of this book as having many of those same tensions, but written ala 2011 with its greater acceptance of erotic romance ingredients. In may ways this book is really hot.
This is set in England at the time of the Norman conquest over the Saxons
our heroine is in a convent and is being forced to become a nun.. her family have all been killed by the invaders except one brother who is in prison One of the girls at the convent is getting married and asks her to be her handmaiden
But she has a secret She needs to prove that she is a virgin on her wedding night
Nice story and the support characters were interesting... there is a lead-in to the next story... that was intriguing ... so I will keep my eye out of it.
What a wonderful story. It’s a first for me by this author but by far not the last. I really enjoyed her writing style and it was so easy to read. There was a bit of slap and tickle in the story…literally. The characters were so funny and by far the best lines in the story… “I didn’t do it. It wasn’t me” followed by the word “bubbies”.
I enjoy reading about this time period which as around 1081. The story mentioned it was 15 years past the battle of Hastings which was in 1066. William the Conqueror won this battle when King Harold died from an arrow piercing his eye. That’s the legend anyway. It’s funny that I remembered this information from my history classes when I was reading this book.
I think this was the first book I bought for my ereader. Since then I mostly read m/m romance.
This is different than most of the m/f romances I have read in that the heroine is allowed to seek pleasure for herself. In the m/f romances I've read, the female is allowed to have pleasure, but more as a gift form the male. In m/m romances that I read, both MCs are allowed to seek pleasure in a way that suits them. Perhaps through pain as Deorwynn or something more vanilla.
This has been describes as erotica ans there are erotic scenes. There is also relationship building, and I can see the MCs as friends not only as sex partners.
I can't understand how anyone enjoyed this. I fought myself for the entirety of reading this book and still could not finish. When I read a book like this, with a main male character that behaves so disgustingly, I often wonder if the author would really enjoy a guy treating them like this because I would not and I don't read to find jerks. I read to get away from them. The world is already full of them.
This was my first book by this author and I will not be reading another since I feel betrayed. Instead of romance I got a horror. What man loves a woman and wants to share her out to his friends like she's a common whore?
We really need to be expecting more from this genre.
Sexist, predictable and cheesy, but a slightly different setting and setup than I am was familiar with. The romance build up took too long and then bam, way too fast. He kept treating her like crap and we're supposed to be impressed that he accepted her talking back in the way he wouldn't accept it from anyone else. but that's not what I read this crap for. The sex scenes were okay but way too short and just not enough emotion in them for me. If they were longer, they would be hot enough to raise this to three stars because, after all, that's the primary thing, right?
I've read this before, and now that I'm not squeamish with some of the scenes, I can now enjoy more the story. I like these type of stories, where the female have some kind of unrequited love but later finds out that the guy loves him also. Guy's debauchery is somehow off-putting at some parts, but their first night with Deorwynn is super hot. Sylvia?'s treachery isn't solve at this story and I would like her to be punished for her devious plans. Anyway, I enjoyed this story, and the next part of this series.
Deorwynn has been Living in a convent since she was six, where she was placed by her father as he went to war. Now 15 years later she take her virginity in order to leave the convent and hopefully can get her brother released from the prison. She is giving her virginity up as Sybilia is about to wed Guy Devaux, and he is expecting a virgin on his wedding nights which she is not. So Deorwynn takes her place in the bed at their wedding night.
Good story, could be longer, but I enjoyed the good story and the heated passion between Deorwynn and Mr. Devaux.
