A short book that is mainly based on Clark's personal experiences and does little in explaining the reason for modern day use of spiritual gifts. He also pushes an ecumenical doctrine which is contrary to Scripture.
An excellent introduction to the spirituality of the Charismatic renewal, including both Pentecostal and Catholic perspectives. Rooted in the biblical experience of the Spirit as recorded in Acts of the Apostles, this small book does a great job making those experiences not only relevant, but vital, to today, rather than remaining as mere artifacts of the early Church. It caters both t0 those who have been introduced to the Charismatic renewal and to those who are more familiar and comfortable with a traditional spirituality. Recommended for anyone who is serious about their spiritual life.
I have in idea how I came to possess this book published in 1976 but I now consider it a gem. It is written by a man involved in the Catholic Charismatic Movement. His purpose was to lay down a foundation of understanding concerning the concept and some of the experiences of the movement. I found his insights to be scriptural sound and somewhat refreshing. He gives a good explanation of why there appears to be a greater outpouring of spiritual gifts in this age compared to previous ages. I will be keeping this little gem.
