Leído el primer tomo de este manhwa, bellamente editado por la editorial Kitsune Manga. Se trata de una edición preciosa y muy cuidada, la historia es muy divertida, el dibujo es estupendo y el tamaño también, que se lee a la manera occidental (de izquierda a derecha). Se ha quedado un par de capítulos por detrás de lo que llevo visto del kdrama, donde la pareja formada por los 2Park brilla a gran altura.

He visto el dorama y me encantaron los actores y las situaciones cómicas que pasaban. Así que ahora me toca leer el manwha para conocer más en profundidad todo lo que me perdí en la serie.
Me encanta el protagonista y su narcisismo jajajaja. El pobre no entiende por qué Kim Miso no le hace ni caso y solo hace intentos nada buenos para conseguir que vuelva.

I loved the show and I loved this volume. It is such a great story, the artwork is cute, and the characters are fun. I'd highly recommend.

Maravilloso, lo he leído en media hora.
El kdrama de esta historia es de mis favoritos, así que no soy nada objetiva con esta historia. En este primer tomo te ríes lo más grande porque él es de un modo de ser que te deja loca por completo. El dibujo es fabuloso (este maromazo es 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥) y se lee de un modo muy rápido, aunque han occidentalizado el sentido de la lectura y me ha costado un poco adaptarme 😂.

¿Qué le pasa a la secretaria Kim? es una historia llena de situaciones cómicas que me han sacado más de una carcajada.
La culpa de todo la tiene Lee Yeongjun, el heredero de una empresa que desprende perfección por todos los poros de la piel, un narcisista y ególatra de manual, que tiene a su secretaria, Kim Miso, tan cansada que de un día para otro le suelta que dimite, que quiere vivir su vida, una privada y más tranquila, sin estar pendiente las 24 horas de su jefe. Tal es el shock que recibe Yeongjun que es capaz de trazar cualquier plan para que Miso no deje la empresa, desde boicotear las entrevistas de trabajo de las nuevas candidatas, hasta pretender que Miso se enamore de él.
Como os he dicho antes, la historia es pura comicidad, y es que las interacciones entre Yeongjun y Miso dan para muchas risas. Pero más allá de la historia central, los intentos del jefe por retener en la empresa a su secretaria, hay dos partes que me intrigan, la del hermano de Yeongjun y el pasado de Miso. Espero que estas dos ramas se desarrollen en futuros volúmenes.
Sobre los personajes qué decir, me encantan. Miso es todo carácter, no se deja amedrentar por nadie y siempre está dispuesta a cualquier cosa por ayudar a su familia, y es que su padre no le ha puesto las cosas fáciles. Yeongjun es ¿perfecto? pues no, porque tiene un ego que se lo pisa, y a veces no se da cuenta de lo que dice o hace, de no ser por lo absurdo de las situaciones sería un personaje insoportable, pero ahí está el truco, su imperfección añadida al carácter de Miso han conseguido que me haya enamorado de la historia. Y luego está Yushik, un personaje secundario que trabaja en la empresa y es amigo de Yeongjun, que menuda paciencia tiene para soportar a su amigo. Se ha ganado el cielo.
El estilo de dibujo me encanta y la edición es una pasada, mis felicitaciones a Kitsune Manga porque ha quedado una joya de manhwa. Las páginas a color, el material perfecto y viene con unas ilustraciones finales de algunas de las escenas. Preciosa.
Solo tengo un pero y es la sociedad machista de Corea reflejada, pero eso es algo que tristemente hoy en día sigue así. El hombre trabajador, la mujer perfecta (florero en muchos casos), agradezco que en parte Miso quiera romper con esa parte de la cultura, o se critique en parte, porque la de formar una familia antes de cierta edad sigue ahí.
Solo me queda decir, que si os gustan las romcom, tenéis que leer este manhwa porque merece mucho la pena. La vais a disfrutar.

Un manga para los amantes de la serie.
En este primer volumen encontraremos las páginas a todo color, la publicación se ha hecho a la europea, es decir de izquierda a derecha, me ha costado un poco acostumbrarme a leer así cuando me he acostumbrado al leer los mangas al revés.
Me ha encantado, las ilustraciones son maravillosas y el que sean a color es un plus, la historia la misma que vimos en la serie, iréis reconociéndolas conforme vayáis leyendo.
Deseando que se publique el segundo volumen. ;)

Twenty-nine-year-old Miso Kim has met her financial goals after nearly a decade of hard work and resigns her position to start fulfilling some of her personal goals: a husband and family. This is upsetting to her narcissistic boss, Youngjun Lee, who thinks only of business and loves his perfect life and the way it runs so smoothly thanks to his perfect secretary. What lengths will he go to in order to keep her on the payroll?
There's also a goofy backstory where Miso has vague memories of being kidnapped as a child, though her sisters assure her nothing like that happened. Just to let you know what sort of story this is, I have no doubt that Youngjun will somehow be involved in this developing flashback even though they ostensibly met as adults.
Corny and cheesy, sure, but it just goes down so easy, like, y'know, corn, or, say, cheese.

I LOVED reading these two characters again but in physical form! SQUEALS!
I started reading this digitally late last year(?) and became SUPER invested because Miso and Youngjun have such a great dynamic on page that makes me laugh often!
Youngjun is something else for a hero because he's definitely not the type of hero I love rooting for, but I think because he's so speechless about Miso not wanting to be with him romantically as well as wanting to leave the company, I can't help but laugh at his reactions!
I also really like Miso and how there is some mystery woven in with her story that makes it even more engaging. Granted, I just like Miso in general and 100% here for the romance, but I'm up for some mystery too!

Ce premier tome reprend bien le début du k-drama éponyme que j’ai beaucoup aimé !
Un PDG qui tape sur les nerfs car il est narcissique à souhait ; une secrétaire qui lui tient tête, sans entrer dans son jeu.
La base peut être vu et revu mais l’adaptation sur petit écran a été convaincante. J’attend de voir ce que la version dessinée va donner car pour l’instant ça manque de fluidité

Miso Kim is leaving her position as the hot company vice-chairman (Youngjun Lee)’s, nanny (I mean, secretary, whoops) to find her own happiness for once. Which bruises Youngjun’s ego since he is clearly perfect, but is also probably doing a number on other organs he hasn’t quite considered.
I think the more pertinent question is, what’s wrong with Secretary Kim’s comic? And I have a lot more thoughts on this one, honestly. I can see why this is enjoyable, yet making the leap to actually enjoying it myself is a bold step.
Miso’s a fine enough character, somewhat spunky yet also beaten down from years of tending to a manchild in a brutally thankless role that sees her on call 24/7. She’s got the dreaded family debt we see in stories like this, but in this instance it smartly informs why she’d ever stick with this dope.
Youngjun is the prize ass of the story, somebody who thinks he’s king of everything and doesn’t make any wrong moves. So that’s definitely not the reason why Miso is leaving, since it’s simply not possible. His bloviating in the face of how ridiculous he is, even if he is good at his job, is equal parts humorous and grating.
He reminds me very, very much of Takane, from the occasionally amusing Takane & Hana manga. Except this time you aren’t having to deal with the godawful age gap of it all. But both characters are very bad at seeing their faults and consequently super extra bad at working through them.
Cue the attempts of Miso to get her life back under her control and his attempts to sloppily figure out why she would ever want to leave. Her pragmatism and lack of filter at this point do play well off his hopeless narcissism. Especially in the face of a guy who couldn’t project his thoughts onto others any harder without becoming a cineplex.
There are some very amusing parts to this collection - the chapter where Youngjun and Miso are engaged in a pretty heated texting session is especially well done. Miso’s meeting with Youngjun’s literal Girl Thursday is a great moment too. The story starts to get even more life at the end when Youngjun decides that it’s time to woo Miso and that involves going way overboard.
The art in this is mostly okay. It’s a web series collection, which you can tell because the whole thing is in colour and despite reading right to left, the page orientation is traditional Western fashion. The whole style is serviceable, but softer than I’d like. Functional but unremarkable is about the best I can muster.
I will say, however, that the kidnapping that Miso only half remembers better not be going exactly where I think it’s going because it’s going to touch on one of those things that drives me a little crazy in this style of narrative.
In the end, I suppose this is doing most everything right, but it isn’t doing it right enough to make me care all that much. It’s a good example of this style of story, but it isn’t doing the basics well enough for my liking nor bringing anything especially new to the table such that it piques my interest further.

Decidí empezar a leer estos manhwa por el éxito que tuvo hace unos años este k-drama, aunque no sabía muy bien qué esperar de la historia ya que justo no he visto la adaptación. Estuve investigando antes de comprarlos y la adaptación surgió de una webcómic, que recientemente ha sido recopilada publicada en España en forma de manhwa con ilustraciones a color, por lo que decidí probar.
Y, a decir verdad, este primer tomo me ha sorprendido gratamente. Es una historia fácil y divertida que consiste en un enemies to lovers entre una secretaria entregada a su trabajo y su jefe, el presidente de una prestigiosa empresa en Corea del Sur. La trama empieza cuando la secretaria de 29 años Kim Miso, le comunica a su jefe, el egocéntrico y narcisista Lee Yeongjun que tras nueve años como secretaria y asistenta personal, ha decidido dejar su puesto de trabajo para centrarse en su vida privada. Éste no se lo toma nada bien, pues tras tantos años acostumbrado a la perfección de Miso, no está dispuesto a dejarla escapar tan fácilmente y está dispuesto a hacer todo lo posible por mantenerla a su lado.
Es una novela muy ligera que se lee con mucha rapidez y te permite distraerte y pasar unas horas divertidas inmersa en la relación de los dos protagonistas. Sin embargo, debido a la personalidad del protagonista, puedes encontrar algunas frases y comportamientos algo misóginos/tóxicos, al menos en este primer tomo, por los que quizá esta no sea una novela para todos los gustos.
Pese a eso, yo la he disfrutado muchísimo y hoy mismo voy a empezar a leer el segundo tomo.

¿Qué le pasa a la secretaria Kim? vol. 1:
La trama empieza cuando Kim Miso, de 29 años, secretaria y asistente personal del directivo de una de las empresas más importantes de Seúl, Lee Yeongjun, de 32 años, decide abandonar su puesto de trabajo tras 9 años para centrarse en su vida personal. Durante esos 9 años, Kim Miso no ha tenido ni un solo día libre y ha decidido que quiere tener una vida más tranquila, casarse y tener hijos. Sin embargo, Lee, ambicioso, egoísta y narcisista, no entiende que Kim quiera abandonar ese puesto de lujo. Por tanto, le concede generosos aumentos y beneficios económicos, tentadores para Kim dada su situación económica, (soltera, la pequeña de tres hermanas, las cuales todavía están empezando con su carrera y sus sueldos no les permiten vivir cómodamente debido a los gastos y deudas de su padre). No obstante, Kim se mantiene férrea en su decisión.
Es en este momento cuando el jefe Lee decide pedirle una cita e incluso matrimonio a cambio de que se quede en la empresa. Ofendida por estas acciones y cansada de los rumores de la empresa y de las suposiciones de los padres de él sobre su relación extraprofesional, Miso se reafirma en su decisión y decide empezar a buscar otras candidatas para cubrir su puesto. No obstante, la obsesión de Lee es tal que se esfuerza para recabar información sobre cuál sería la cita perfecta y sobre los gustos románticos de Kim para intentar seducirla y así que se quede en la empresa y a su lado. Por ahora, Kim ha sido la única mujer que se ha atrevido a rechazarle dos veces y, si su físico despampanante y su dinero no son suficientes para ella, está dispuesto a enamorarla con sus actos, aunque sean puro teatro.
Y, a decir verdad, este primer tomo me ha sorprendido gratamente. Durante esos 9 años, Kim Miso no ha tenido ni un solo día libre y ha decidido que quiere tener una vida más tranquila, casarse y tener hijos. Sin embargo, Lee, ambicioso, egoísta y narcisista, no entiende que Kim quiera abandonar ese puesto de lujo. Por tanto, le concede generosos aumentos y beneficios económicos, tentadores para Kim dada su situación económica, (soltera, la pequeña de tres hermanas, las cuales todavía están empezando con su carrera y sus sueldos no les permiten vivir cómodamente debido a los gastos y deudas de su padre). No obstante, Kim se mantiene férrea en su decisión.
Es en este momento cuando el jefe Lee decide pedirle una cita e incluso matrimonio a cambio de que se quede en la empresa. Ofendida por estas acciones y cansada de los rumores de la empresa y de las suposiciones de los padres de él sobre su relación extraprofesional, Miso se reafirma en su decisión y decide empezar a buscar otras candidatas para cubrir su puesto. No obstante, la obsesión de Lee es tal que se esfuerza para recabar información sobre cuál sería la cita perfecta y sobre los gustos románticos de Kim para intentar seducirla y así que se quede en la empresa y a su lado. Por ahora, Kim ha sido la única mujer que se ha atrevido a rechazarle dos veces y, si su físico despampanante y su dinero no son suficientes para ella, está dispuesto a enamorarla con sus actos, aunque sean puro teatro.

Hard to say who did this trope first: narcissistic, overdemanding boss/overworked, overly kind assistant. It's not new and I always get annoyed at romanticizing the boss who was so inconsiderate to everyone around them. While I do tend to like the "I hate everyone but you" trope, it doesn't always come with the boss treated other people terribly.
Anyway, I like that this series starts with Secretary Kim sticking up for herself. Considering what always happens, they will end up together and it won't matter that she called him out and tried to institute boundaries. He's going to bulldoze through them because that's how these stories usually go. Anyway, I enjoyed this for what it was, but it's not anything to write home about.

Si visteis el kdrama os encantará reencontraros con los personajes y si no lo hicisteis, puede que os entre el gusanillo de verlo. Sea como fuere, es una historia divertida y que se lee tan rápido que se queda una suspirando por la siguiente entrega. El dibujo es divino y el tamaño es perfecto para poder disfrutarlo como se merece.

June 7, 2022Cuando vi la portada de este manga no me pude resistir a leerlo y es que los colores son muy llamativos y el dibujo me encanta (¡el libro es todo a color!).
No conocía bien la historia antes de empezarlo así que iba un poco a ciegas, pero me ha parecido una trama bastante simplona dentro de que me ha gustado.
En esta serie vamos a conocer la historia de Kim, la secretaria de un joven vicepresidente de una gran empresa, bastante apuesto y borde (un narcisista de los pies a la cabeza), que decide que es momento de dejar el trabajo y buscar un marido (vamos a dejar a un lado que no estemos de acuerdo con esta premisa de “mujer florero”).
El problema llega cuando el presidente se da cuenta de que no quiere que ella dimita y hace todo lo posible para que permanezca a su lado.
La verdad es que es la primera vez que leo un manga coreano, pero no creo que sea la última. Si buscáis una historia de amor, amistad y echaros unas risas, os lo recomiendo.

I picked this manga up because I had watched the show and really wanted to read the manga that inspired the show.
I can say it did not disappoint me. The show pretty much follows the manga to a T. I like the different visual that the manga gave me than the show because it's more animated and not real life people. (don't get me wrong Park Seo-Joon as Young-joon is still my favorite version)
I liked the coloring of the graphics and the changing of font style when certain events happened. You could really tell when someone was anxious or yelling.
Can't wait to read the next volume and I might have to do a re-watch of the show here soon.
