Hello, dear readers!
I hope you're all doing well. Remember the excitement from our unboxing reel of "N × N: The Beginning" by Anil Prabhu? Well, the wait is over, and I’m thrilled to share my thoughts on this captivating read. Let me ask you this: Have you ever been pulled into a mystery so deep that it kept you guessing at every turn? That's exactly what happened to me with this book.

[ Storyline: In the Kingdom of Kochi, the full moon night is a dreaded night. For the past two decades, murders and disappearances have been occurring with regularity. Much to the dismay of the citizens and the king, answers to these crimes have proved elusive. Will the docking of a ship off the coast of the kingdom provide answers or will it further perpetuate the mysterious happenings on the full moon night? Was it orchestrated or was it destiny that Aditya spotted the ship on a full moon night? Where will the adventures on the ship lead Aditya, his friends, and the king? ]

The characters are well developed: Aditya is a strong, discreet, brave boy on the other side price Sanjana is a problem solver and has leadership qualities as well. Side character such as Govind, and Prithvi has their importance in the storyline.

The language is simple. If you are a beginner you will feel comfortable with the vocabulary used in the story. The plot is well-developed set against the backdrop of a kingdom. The geographical description is vivid.

One criticism I would like to add is that the author has added an extra element of fiction which may not be necessary; however it can be enjoyed by a kid. Secondly, the plot jump is not that much smooth in some situations. However, as a debut author, Anil Prabhu's storytelling prowess and ability to weave a captivating mystery are commendable. These minor issues can be overlooked, considering this is his first venture into the literary world.

Overall I have enjoyed reading this ... Now I'm eagerly waiting for the second part of the story. I believe the author will not disappoint us at all and will deliver a great plot with an intriguing storyline. What do you think? Are you ready to join Aditya on his quest and uncover the secrets of the full moon night? Let me know your thoughts and if this book finds its way to your reading list!

I recently finished N x N The Beginning by Anil Prabhu, set in the 10th-century Kingdom of Kochi. The novel transports you to Gosripuram, where full moon nights, or Purnima, bring fear and mysterious deaths. The story introduces Aditya, a young merchant burdened by debt, whose life changes when he encounters a mysterious ship. This event leads Aditya and his friends, Govind and Prithvi, into a dangerous adventure.

The narrative's tension builds as they uncover secrets involving the king and his family. Aditya’s well-crafted character and the book’s philosophical reflections add depth. Though the historical context could be richer, the suspense and mystery keep you hooked. If you enjoy historical adventures with a touch of intrigue, this book is for you.

N X N The Beginning by Anil Prabhu is a gripping tale rich with atmospheric descriptions and packed with a punch of adventure!

The story is set in 10th-century Gosripuram, the capital city of the Kochi kingdom, a bustling port known for its prosperity. On the night of Purnima (full moon), the city falls eerily silent due to a history of mysterious disappearances and deaths. Against this backdrop, we have our protagonist Aditya.

After revealing his financial troubles to his family, he retreats to a mountaintop where he discovers a massive, enigmatic ship on a secluded island. Drawn to its presence, Aditya embarks on a quest to uncover the truth behind the city's dark secrets tied to Purnima night.

N×N The Beginning is a masterful, well written suspense and intriguing story that will take the readers on an adventurous journey.

Our story takes place in the capital city of the kochi kingdom. Gosripuram, a port city was a bustle of activities and treasure trove for this kingdom. Merchants and business flourished with great success here. However one night is an exception. The night of purnima (full moon) the aforementioned city falls silent due to the infamous mysterious disappearances and deaths. It's the only night where everyone knows better than to venture out.

We follow our protagonist, Aditya who is drowning in debts. On the day the same is revealed to his family, he wanders off to the mountain top where he encounters a mysterious ship on the isolated island. This ship is huge and something about it calls to him. Will he find out the truth behind all the mysteries fogging up for the purnima? In this riveting tale of suspense, secrets, greed, and conjunction of well crafted situations, the readers are bound for a rollercoaster ride.

This book caught my attention from the very start with its incredibly intriguing and fast-paced narrative. The author weaves in suspense, anticipation and excitement with a greater impact of fantastic twists and turns. The characters are well fleshed and they are quite well portrayed when it comes to personalities and traits. The story has multiple layers of razor sharp adventures which kept me on the edge of my seats. By the middle of the novel, there are interesting intervention of aliens and black magic performing sisters duo, Sunanda and Vrinda. Each game is played with a twist. The author's writing style is immensely captivating and compelling. The conclusion of the book is on a major cliffhanger and I'm really excited to read the next installment.

Readers who love to delve into fast-paced and adventurous story with vividly weaved suspense and intrigue will definitely love this book.

“The world has enough for everyone’s need , but not for everyone’s greed.”
🍀Book - N x N The Beginning
🍀Author - Anil Prabhu
🍀Plot-
The kingdom of Kochi was gripped by fear due to mysterious murders that occurred on full moon nights and no one could unravel this mystery.
Amidst this turmoil, Aditya, a spice merchant, struggled with debts due to losses in his business. One full moon night, overwhelmed by his problems, Aditya headed to the hill near the seashore with a newfound acquaintance, Prithvi. However, upon reaching the shore, he realized he was alone. Distressed and seeking solace, he decided to spend the night by the sea instead of returning home.
As he sat by the shore, Aditya noticed a ship approaching and docking near Kochi. His curiosity heightened,he boarded the ship and encountered a host who invited him to play a game. Aditya won two gold coins, much to his delight. He cleared his debts and shared the news with his closest friend, Govind. The following night, they both returned to the ship and won more coins. Aditya soon involved more friends, and together, they frequented the ship, playing various games and amassing wealth.

When the King heard about the ship his curiosity was aroused. He decided to assemble a large team to visit the ship, aiming to win a significant amount of gold.
🍀Was this game a part of murders happening in Kochi ?
🍀Will the King and his team will be able to make fortunes?

🍀Review -
The book is a fast-paced thriller featuring a multitude of characters, each with their own compelling stories. The author has skillfully developed not only the characters but also the physical setting of the city, vividly describing the seashore, market area, and its inhabitants. This attention to detail enhances the story's clarity and makes it easy to understand.
Set in a historical context, the suspenseful narrative seamlessly connects to the present time, making it relatable for contemporary readers. Illustrations are used effectively to explain the game and its rules, adding depth to the presentation and highlighting human greed.

However, I felt that the detailed explanations of the games were confusing at times. Editing these sections would have improved the content presentation.

Overall, this book is a perfect read for those who enjoy fast-paced thrillers. Readers should note that this is just "The Beginning" of the thrill.

▶️Where did your last read take you?

‘When we head towards the spiritual world, our life becomes stronger like a tree with strong roots and branches. In our lives, if we give importance to desires, we will make ourselves weak.’

My last read took me to the kingdom of Kochi where the full moon night is a dreaded night. A night when no one is allowed to step out of their homes. A night that has always been a mysterious one for the kingdom. Anil Prabhu in his book ‘N x N The Beginning’ takes us to the lives of the people of the kingdom. He takes us on a journey with Aditya who spotted a ship on the full moon night. Something craved him to go there, take the risk and step out of home. Is it a trap? Why is he choosing to go there every time? What will happen when the king comes to know about it? Get ready to witness an adventurous ride as Aditya and his friends go to the ship every full moon night to earn more until the king finds out. What will happen next?

With an exciting storyline and a thrilling plot, Anil Prabhu weaves the story of friendship, love, fun, murder, struggle, and dangerous adventures. With Aditya, we see the life and struggles of common people. We see how bit by bit they try to fulfil their debts. We witness his childhood days with his family and friends making us feel nostalgic. The story starts well with Aditya’s frustration for his debts followed by the ship and his experiences there.

The story picks up well with Aditya risking his life every time with dangerous tasks. Followed by his friends warning him and supporting him, becoming his team. The story truly gets exciting as his friends join and unfolds well. Loved the way Anil added twists creating a sense of excitement for the readers.

With a crisp, descriptive narrative, his writing style is captivating and immersing. As the readers step in Aditya’s shoes we witness his love for his friends and the love of his life. The story gets truly exciting in the last few chapters as they start working for the king. It's a thrilling, fast-paced and entertaining read.

The book intricately weaves together elements of adventure, mystery, and political intrigue against the backdrop of the Kingdom of Kochi. Central to the narrative are themes of loyalty, betrayal, and the resilience of the human spirit amidst adversity. The characters, particularly Aditya, Govind, Princess Sanjana, and King Mahindra Varma, are well-developed and undergo significant personal growth throughout the story.

The author adeptly builds tension and suspense, particularly in the chapters involving the ambush and abduction orchestrated during a sports event. This event serves as a catalyst for the protagonists' journey, where they must navigate treacherous waters both literally and metaphorically. The incorporation of ancient martial arts techniques like Kalarippayattu adds a rich cultural dimension to the action sequences, enhancing the authenticity of the narrative.

The book's strengths lies in its vivid portrayal of the Kingdom of Kochi, its socio-economic dynamics, and the intricate political landscape. The descriptions of Gosripuram, the capital city, and its bustling port provide a vibrant backdrop against which the characters' struggles unfold. Moreover, the exploration of familial bonds & the weight of leadership responsibilities adds depth to the characters, making their motivations & decisions feel grounded & relatable.

While the narrative is compelling & filled with dramatic moments, there are instances where the pacing could benefit from tighter execution. Some chapters, particularly those delving into historical backgrounds or secondary character arcs occasionally detract from the main storyline's momentum.

Overall, the book blends elements of historical fiction with suspenseful adventure, offering readers a captivating tale of courage, sacrifice, and determination in the face of adversity. It leaves ample room for further exploration of character motivations & plot developments in potential sequels, making it a promising start to a series that explores the complexities of loyalty, betrayal, and redemption in a richly imagined historical setting.

NxN The Beginning and from the very title, I developed my interest towards it, seems quite suspenseful to me. After reading it quite clear that this book would keep you to edge of your seat till the final chapter.

It is an adventurous book diving into the mystical world of Thrill, Hope and Exploration. Set against the backdrop of the 10th Century. The book takes us to the beautiful land of the Kochi kingdom near the sea with its capital Gosripuram, where trade flourishes at its best. There's a mysterious problem on full moon nights, where people disappear or are found dead, making everyone afraid to go out. The sea was the main barrier between the two kingdoms.

"It is sad that such an auspicious night has become cursed and unlucky for the city of Gosripuram"

Thus, it has caused a wide spread belief in them that these nights would bring in evil .
But still few questions remain, is it all a myth? Or what is the reason behind it all?

The main protagonist Aditya is struggling in his buisness , facing debts and humiliation. Unable to repay his loan a broken Aditya decided to set to woods where they were banned on full moon nights. They sensed evil. In between the silence and mystery he found a mysterious ship heading towards the shore . They visited the ship which further reveals some intruiging facts . Are they related to the mystery of full moon night?
Find it out yourself...

Prabhu's well developed plot and smooth writing style made the reading experience a lot more pleasurable. The fast paced narration kept me hooked throughout the adventure.

Characters are well developed, and full of enthusiasm and positivity

Overall I really enjoyed reading this and eagerly waiting for the second part !!!

‘N x N THE BEGINNING’ authored by Anil Prabhu and brought out by APK Publishers, Pune, is described as a work of fiction. As is well evident from the title itself, the book is the first part of (presumably) a trilogy.
After an outline sketch of the Kingdom of Kochi, the story unfolds slowly, dwelling around a few households, introducing the lead characters and their current background. However, the pace and intrigue picks up steadily with each chapter, whereupon the story and the history encompassing a larger canvass in terms of area and time unfurl. The narrative identifies itself as belonging to the genre of action-drama. However, the author is very adept at incorporating natural, yet thought provoking, conversations. We come across a great many timeless remarks, life lessons and philosophical observations every now and then. Rarely are any characters described physically. Even so, a picture of every character gets etched in the minds of the readers as if by magic.
The author is well endowed with the imagination, passion and the patience essential in the making of a better writer.
The book is interesting, entertaining and enjoyable. The story line as well as the characters remain with us. As and when the next part comes out, I am confident that I will be able to pick up the story line without needing to refer this first part again. I hope this will suffice as an endorsement to other interested readers.

I was hooked right from the start and could picture all the events and characters in the story! Really liked how the author maintained the screenplay by not explaining everything in a chronological order. Events in the story are being explained in a non linear fashion and that increases the reader’s interest to know why and how an event took place.
References of indian culture and history have been beautifully woven into the narrative that makes it even more relatable for native audience and gives a sense of freshness to non Indian readers. Also enjoyed how the author adds his personal touch about love for potatoes! ( yes, I know the author )

If you are a fan of fiction mixed with Indian culture and history coupled with some thrilling and engaging turn of events , this mystery book is definitely worth your time!

Overall, I really enjoyed the book and am looking forward to the next part coz you know.. this ..is just the beginning!!

Happy Reading!

The title of the book is quite captivating and leaves one taking wild guesses at what is the meaning that it conveys but once you delve deeper into the novel you understand why the NxN is used.

The cover of the book gives a slight hint of the story as well so the packaging in itself conveys a story.

The storytelling of the book is great, the flow is lucid, it doesn’t bore you or break the rythm. The language used is simple and the book is easy to read, which makes it very beginner-friendly.

One thing I am dissatisfied about is that the locations which reoccurred in the plot quite frequently could have been given more detailing, and that would have enhanced the imagination and experience of the reader.

Various contemporary bookish phrases and vocabulary have been used which I feel can be helpful if you are trying to improve your spoken English.

When the story ends it literally leaves you with the feeling and mindstate "katappa ne baahubali ko kyu mara"

The book is best suited for people who are into series of suspense thrillers and also for people who are new into reading to try an easy to read book with good storytelling

I extend my heartfelt appreciation and congratulations to the author, Anil Prabhu, for crafting the captivating novel " N X N: The Beginning " . This masterful work takes readers on a thrilling journey through the Kingdom of Kochi, blending mystery, adventure, and the supernatural into a story that explores the haunting occurrences tied to the full moon night and the quest for answers.

Though the discussion of the story line in such a book where many surprises are waiting after turning the pages , I personally don't like. As it destroys the author's effort and spoiler is never a great experience for me. However the story revolves around the Kingdom of Kochi, which has been haunted by mysterious murders and disappearances occurring every full moon night for the past two decades. The arrival of a mysterious ship off the coast during one such night sets the stage for an adventure led by Aditya, his friends, and the king. Rest you have to discover.

I liked the character Aditya, his scientific arguments is really attractive and I as a reader enjoyed it a lot. The author's writing style is both gripping and evocative, pulling readers into the narrative from the very first page. The plot, with its layers of secrets and revelations, keeps the suspense taut throughout, making it a true page-turner.

Complemented by an astonishing book cover, the imagery captures the essence of the story, drawing readers in with its enigmatic allure . I would like to recommend this book to all the thriller lover over here.

From that day, Aditya's life takes a new turn. His friends and the king of Kochi Kingdom also involves later.

There were so many hidden secrets that kept this book a mystery until the end. Every chapter you keep second guessing yourself or changing up your mind. It was written so well and the story line was awesome. I really loved the ease of writing style this author presented, I flew through the pages quickly. The twists that I never saw coming had me with my jaw dropped! Definitely recommend!!!

Anil Prabhu’s “N X N The Beginning” is a gripping tale set in the mysterious and atmospheric Kingdom of Kochi, where the full moon brings not just light, but also a sense of dread. For the past two decades, the kingdom has been plagued by unexplained murders and disappearances, all occurring on these moonlit nights. Prabhu crafts a compelling narrative that blends elements of mystery, adventure, and the supernatural, creating a story that keeps readers on the edge of their seats from start to finish.

The novel opens with the Kingdom of Kochi under a shadow of fear and uncertainty. The full moon, a time typically associated with beauty and tranquility, has become a harbinger of death and despair for the kingdom’s citizens. Despite the king’s best efforts, the mystery behind these crimes remains unsolved, leaving the populace in a state of perpetual anxiety. The atmosphere of suspense and unease is palpable, drawing readers into a world where danger lurks in the most unexpected places.

The protagonist, Aditya, is introduced as a curious and adventurous young man whose life takes a dramatic turn when he spots a ship docking off the coast of the kingdom on a full moon night. This seemingly chance encounter sets off a chain of events that propel Aditya, his friends, and even the king on a thrilling adventure that promises to unravel the mysteries that have haunted Kochi for so long. Prabhu does an excellent job of building tension and intrigue, as the arrival of the ship raises more questions than it answers. Is this a sign of destiny, or is there a more sinister force at work?

As the story progresses, Aditya and his companions find themselves drawn deeper into the enigma surrounding the ship and its connection to the full moon murders. Prabhu’s writing is both vivid and immersive, painting a picture of a world that is richly detailed and filled with unexpected twists and turns. The plot is tightly woven, with each chapter adding new layers of complexity to the story. The pacing is brisk, keeping the reader engaged and eager to uncover the next piece of the puzzle.

One of the novel’s strengths is its cast of characters, each of whom brings something unique to the story. Aditya is a likable and relatable protagonist, whose curiosity and determination drive the narrative forward. His friends, who accompany him on his quest, add depth and diversity to the group dynamic, each contributing their own skills and perspectives. The king, who initially appears as a distant figure, becomes more involved as the mystery unfolds, revealing a leader who is both compassionate and capable.

Prabhu also excels in creating a sense of place, bringing the Kingdom of Kochi to life with his evocative descriptions of its landscapes, people, and customs. The kingdom itself feels like a character in the story, with its history and secrets playing a crucial role in the unfolding drama. The full moon, which looms large over the kingdom both literally and figuratively, is a powerful symbol throughout the novel, representing both the beauty and the danger that lie at the heart of the story.

The supernatural elements in “N X N The Beginning” are handled with subtlety and skill, adding an extra layer of mystery to the plot. The idea that the full moon could be linked to the strange occurrences in Kochi adds a sense of foreboding and wonder, blurring the lines between reality and the unknown. Prabhu doesn’t rely on cheap thrills or over-the-top effects to create suspense; instead, he builds a creeping sense of dread that permeates the narrative, making the reader feel as though anything could happen at any moment.

The novel’s climax is both satisfying and thought-provoking, as Aditya and his companions come face to face with the truth behind the full moon murders. Without giving too much away, it’s safe to say that the resolution of the mystery is both surprising and fitting, tying together the various threads of the story in a way that feels both inevitable and unexpected. Prabhu leaves some questions unanswered, setting the stage for future installments in what promises to be an exciting series.

“N X N The Beginning” is a masterful blend of mystery, adventure, and the supernatural, offering readers a thrilling journey into a world where the past and the present are inextricably linked. Anil Prabhu has crafted a story that is both entertaining and thought-provoking, filled with memorable characters, intriguing plot twists, and a richly detailed setting. This is a book that will appeal to fans of historical fiction, fantasy, and mystery alike, and it is sure to leave readers eagerly anticipating the next chapter in Aditya’s adventure.

For those looking for a story that combines the excitement of an adventure with the depth of a mystery, “N X N The Beginning” is a must-read. It is a novel that reminds us of the power of stories to transport us to other worlds, and the way in which the past can shape our present in ways we might never have imagined.

NxN The Beginning
Author - Anil Prabhu
Genre - Mystery/Thriller
Rating - 4/5

This book reminds me of my student life and a few days more after that phase when I was deeply immersed in video games. Games like fighting and racing became my obsession those days, winning was like watering a plant to grow, winning the tournament and establishing my name in the winner's list fed my soul with pure joy and that's why I felt relatable with Aditya, this hypertension only a gamer can understand, living on edge life is truly intoxicating.

Settings like Historical, old days of Kochi comes alive, Daredevil Gaming, and Mysteries of Serial Killer, this plot follows Aditya and Govind, two childhood friends went on an adventure that can pay them enough to shield their poor living. Through a fast-paced storyline, the book delves into the themes of friendship, bravery, murder, and a mysterious whodunnit plot spiraling down with gaming, and gambling which spice up it.

I was clueless when I saw the unique book name and then the blurb hit me with mystery about full moon night and disappearance theme. The story follows Aditya who has trouble in business. His ships sank and now he is buried in debt till his neck. Aditya desperately needs money and then he saw a ship coming towards Kochi's land but docked early at an isolated island. Aditya felt intrigued and went to the ship in his boat, the ship named Karma, a person welcomed Aditya on their ship and told Aditya that they arranged games, if you won the game you would get gold as a prize.

Definitely, Aditya took the opportunity to get out of his miserable life. But is it that simple? Why are they here only to arrange games and give gold? Aditya needs money but still he is suspicious about all these things. With hindsight he is sure he shouldn't go to the ship, everything is not clear, there's more hidden inside the game perhaps they are from an enemy state, or maybe something more mysterious is going to be revealed; well, from this stage the book started giving an eerie vibe and I loved it.

Aditya needs more money to recover the damages, if he brings more people into the game he can win more gold, and each person can win more, but the games are not simple they are very different than anybody can imagine. But Aditya is living in constant fear of some unknown misery, perhaps he shouldn't bring his friends to this game.

Everything in this book is tightly written, slowly unwrapped the characters and their background gives readers enough suspense that they shouldn't leave the book until they finished it. Aditya's character has layers and readers can see glimpses of a hidden thoughtfulness in some special moments yet his character remains unwrapped which shows the finesse of storytelling. Aditya's character symbolizes human desire, youthfulness, and a contrast of profundity which makes him as mysterious as the ship.

Author Anil's writing is simple and lucidity in narration makes this book fast paced adventure journey. It's a full package of mystery, unmistakable adrenaline rush in Dare Devil game situations, and slowly revealing characters making it a gripping tale.

The book does its job really well, finely crafted mystery makes the book interesting till the last page, and with a dash of alienated mystery vibe this book is wrapped in layers.

The book is well-balanced between historical settings and mysterious elements. I like the idiosyncratic differences between characters and the way Aditya emerged from other characters, defines his view with unfiltered dialogue creates an intellectual stance in the midst of mystery.

Given that the topics covered here are very sporting and full of mysteries, this novel is perfect for mystery and history fans.

N x N: THE BEGINNING by Anil Prabhu🌃🌕✨

Book Review💌:- (4/5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐)

1st of all I would like to thank the author for sending me this bookmail. 💌
I finished this book today & I have mixed feelings about it.This book is an absolute page-turner.
I was clueless about the story at first, but I found the blurb & the cover really interesting (the cover tells a lot, you'll get to know when you'll read the story).😉

The story takes place in the Kingdom of Kochi, where the full moon night is a time of dread. People are forbidden to venture out on this night, but Aditya, the protagonist, is curious & brave. He was facing some financial crises & he had to fulfill some debts too & then decides to explore the mysterious ship that appears on the coast during the full moon night.🌃

His destiny took him to the ship named "Karma" where, he was asked to explore some games there, where he could earn gold coins as the prize. As he goes deeper into the ship's secrets, he's joined by his friends Govind, Prithvi & Sanjana, who were equally well-crafted like aditya, with their unique personalities & strengths. And together, they embark on a series of thrilling adventures, facing challenges & dangers at every turn. I loved Aditya & princess Sanjana's cute little interactions too. With each & every chapter your suspense will grow more n more & you would wan to finish the book faster.👀

The author's writing style is easy to follow where the descriptions are vivid, which makes us easy to visualize the characters & their surroundings. I also liked some illustrations which were taken from the great epic Mahabharata. The gambling sessions were my fav.🎮

The only thing I didn't liked in this book is the plot, that unfolded it too quickly & easily, without enough tension or conflict. I wanted to see the characters struggle & face more significant challenges before achieving their goals but I'm disappointed. I hope the author takes a different approach in the sequel, slowing down the pace & adding more complexity to the story.💙

Overall the book is still a great read for the fans of adventure & mystery. You should definitely read this book & embark on the adventures journey. And also find out, by reading:- what happens next in the story, what happens with Aditya and his friends. I Highly recommend this book to everyone.....✨

Thank you for reading my review🙌🏻

Imagine, you get a chance to win gold by playing some games. Wouldn't that be something you will immediately sign up for? I am sure, you will. But everything comes with a cost and so will the gold coins.

This story is about Aditya and his friends. Set in the kingdom of Kochi, this book made me nostalgic for the place I have never been to. With the culture and its food, the Author has described the simple joys of life.

Aditya lives with his Mother and Sister. After taking a loan and failing to pay the debt, he finds himself desperate and eager to make money. In Kochi, some mysterious activities have been going around for over a decade where people have died and disappeared on the purnima night. Hence, no one is allowed to walk out on a full moon night, else they are captured by the King's soldiers.

On one purnima night, Aditya with his friends ventures outside where they suddenly hear the commotion of soldiers and hide separately in order to not get caught. Aditya discovers a ship coming towards him, hesitant to walk into it at first, he takes the risk only for his life to change forever.

The ship comes every Purnima night and Aditya goes into it. Comes out happily and sometimes with regret. He even insists on his other friends to join him. When Aditya, Govind, Prithvi and Sanjana are caught on a purnima night and taken to the king, nobody knows if this was even the right decision at all.

What will happen to the group of friends? Will it lead them to more trouble or something good is awaiting them?

There's a mystery about this ship and what happens inside it. Readers will enjoy reading that part as much as I did. I loved the concept of this story, it was unique and fresh to me. The simple language and narration kept me engaged throughout the book. All the characters are portrayed with sincerity and their intentions have been poured out very openly by the Author. I also loved the friendship among all of them, especially between Aditya and Govind.

While reading the book, I couldn't help but wonder how we as humans are greedy and desperate for more. Even when we have the best intentions at heart, we don't stop when our needs are met. We keep going on in the search of more but is there an end to it?

N X N: The Beginning
by Anil Prabhu
5 outof 5
The story revolves around the kingdom’s eerie full moon nights, a period marked by inexplicable murders and vanishings that have haunted its citizens for twenty years. The plot thickens with the arrival of an enigmatic ship, discovered by the keen-eyed Aditya, propelling him and his companions into an investigation that teeters on the edge of the supernatural.Prabhu’s prose vividly captures the essence of Kochi, steeping the reader in its rich cultural heritage and atmospheric tension. The depiction of full moon nights as harbingers of terror is particularly compelling, creating a persistent sense of unease that drives the narrative forward. The kingdom’s historical backdrop is intricately woven into the story, enhancing its authenticity and depth.Aditya emerges as a robust protagonist, embodying curiosity and courage. His character arc is thoughtfully developed, reflecting both personal growth and the unraveling of the mystery. The relationships he shares with his friends and the king add layers of emotional complexity, grounding the fantastical elements in human experience. Prabhu excels in crafting characters that are both relatable and integral to the plot’s progression. However, the novel's pacing is uneven. While some sections are brisk and filled with suspense, others lag, disrupting the narrative flow. The multiplicity of subplots, while enriching the story, occasionally overwhelms, demanding careful attention from the reader. Additionally, a few plot twists are somewhat predictable, which can lessen the impact of the otherwise gripping storyline.Despite these minor shortcomings, stands out for its immersive setting and well-drawn characters. Prabhu’s ability to blend mystery with cultural and historical detail results in a richly textured narrative that is both engaging and thought-provoking. This debut novel sets a promising foundation for future installments, offering readers a captivating journey into the unknown.

If a mystery/thriller manages to keep me invested and curious without getting impatient, I consider that a success. And Anil Prabhu’s N x N The Beginning is one such, even though I do have my complaints with the writing itself.

N x N The Beginning is set in the kingdom of Kochi - I’m assuming this is historical too because it gave off those vibes - where the full moon night or Purnima is considered inauspicious. For years, these nights have been marked with dark crimes, with the truth nowhere near the horizon. But when, on one such night, Aditya finds himself at a vantage point from where he can see the sea, he spots a ship docking off the coast of a nearby uninhabited kingdom. Curious, he rows his way to the ship, only to find something rather intriguing awaiting him.

But this is going to change the course of his life as well as Kochi’s perception of the truth. What is it that lurks underneath all this? What secrets are behind the disappearances and the crimes? Is what N x N The Beginning is all about.

This premise is so interesting, especially because the concept of auspices in Hindu culture is a huge one. How Aditya ropes his reluctant friends into joining him on this adventure and finding out the reason behind their kingdom’s bad luck on these Purnima nights is an extremely entertaining one. Not to forget their banter and the food mentioned, that had my mouth watering.

Despite all these positives, there are some things that I did find off, the biggest one being the repetitive writing. A conversation holds up despite the parties involved not spelling everything out in every single line, but that wasn’t shown here. Add to it the stunted dialogue that feels more like a throwback to our own childhoods than as adult conversations, the experience all in all felt a little unsettling.

Overall, I feel like the premise is fantastic, because I was on the edge of my seat towards the end, wondering what was going to happen, especially since the King of Kochi is now involved. I just think the execution dampened the mystery/thrill factor a little.

📚🎀Book Review 🎀📚
📚✨Book Name : NxN : THE BEGINNING
📚✍️ AUTHOR : ANIL PRABHU

✨✍️‘N × N The Beginning’ by Anil Prabhu is a fictional novel filled with adventure and action set in the 10th-century Kingdom of Kochi. During that time, in Gosripuram, the full moon night, aka the Night of Purnima, is a dreaded night.

✨✍️Around tenth Century inGosripuram, night of Purnima (Full Moon Day) was considered unlucky and cursed. It brought death and bad luck to this highly energetic and prosperous city.Gosripuramwas the capital, business and port city of Kochi Kingdom. On Purnima night many people were mysteriously killed or disappeared and never returned back. Culprits were never brought to justice.

✨✍️The whole city of Gosripuram was frightened with mysterious deaths happening on Purnima.
The book starts off very well, and it quickly picks up the pace as well. Aditya, our main narrator in the book, is a clever, smart, and kind-hearted person who is a spice merchant and is under the pressure of returning his debt.
✨✍️The book is a perfect touch of modern adventure, along with a depiction of Indian mythology. The book talks about greed, compulsive nature, old-time education, thrilling experiences at a younger age, luck, strength, financial depth, etc. I liked that the book had its fair share of calculations and math involved, which added another interesting layer to the plot and also helped the title make sense.

🎀Overall Impression:"NxN: The Beginning" by Anil Prabhu is a well-crafted detective story with a compelling protagonist, vivid descriptions, and a suspenseful plot. The opening chapter successfully sets the stage for an engaging and complex mystery. With deeper character development, more interaction, and additional layers of intrigue, it has the potential to be an even more captivating read.
