Into The Seventeen Towers

Rate this book
Heroes stand! But Nathaniel is no hero… He is an all-around average, thirty-something, failed-to-launch, American do-nothing. However, one small fact rescues Nathaniel from wallowing in his mediocrity...He is a Page-Walker! Nathaniel can escape his humdrum existence by entering the pages of books, living vicariously through their characters’ adventures.

Nathaniel’s comfortable existence is challenged when he discovers his late grandfather’s unfinished manuscript, The Seventeen Towers, whose pages call him for help. But entering an unfinished story has no guarantee of safety, so Nathaniel must choose whether to rise to the occasion and answer the call or let cowardice govern his life.

In his debut novel, Jareth Navratil weaves a light-hearted and whimsical tale while not shying away from the heavy and emotional subject matter. Love and loss, substance abuse and addiction, exploitation and manipulation, and overcoming toxicity take center stage in this portal fantasy page-turner.

Best book ever! Zero notes! Perfection from start to finish!...Full disclosure, I am this book's author so this review may be a tad biased. All joking aside I actually feel rather dirty reviewing my own book, but I figure if political candidates are allowed to vote in their own elections then I should be permitted to toss at least one five-star review onto the pile before more honest reviews begin popping up.

Despite what I wrote in the opening line of this review, I am cognizant of the fact that my book likely won’t find its way onto any best-seller’s list, but I find beauty in its imperfection and I genuinely think its story will resonate with many. Writing Into The Seventeen Towers was the most transformative experience of my life, and I would be honored beyond words to share that experience with you through its pages.

Thank you for taking the time to give my novel your consideration. I appreciate you! Cheers!

This book literally gave me ideas to bookwalk into the harry potter series (my literal life dream-I'm delusional) and took it away (IYKYK read this book to find out)
-------------------------------------------
Spoiler free review (or very mild spoilers)
-------------------------------------------

I'm literally reccomending it to all the readers our there cause this book is literally for a reader. OK that is such a badly phrased sentence but what I mean is that this book is filled with bookish references (and a cheeky mention of the author himself) and the plot revolves around readers and books. So go and shelve it now.

This had a "fantom tollbooth" and "inkheart" vibe with the theme of bookwalkers and I loved that it was a mix of reality and books. Oo and also had a hint of "Alice of Wonderland" vibes. This book dealt with a lot of things at once, but managed to keep it neat. I feel like the recent YA releases are rather quick and simple, but this book was so descriptive and brought the bookish aesthetic into like.

The characters felt real with all the flaws, and I related to Melissa the most (she's a strong girl honestly. I would have lost it if my non existent partner disappeared leaving a note about bookwalking). She got this book together so that it felt not too much like a fairytale but a mix of the real world.

I loved that this wasn't just a simple book for fun but contained so much stories about family, addiction and love! This book honestly deserves more recognition.

(I am very convinved that the author is a bookwalker)

It might not be a fast paced read (tho tbh I flew through it WHEN IM MEANT TO BE STUDYING), and if you don't like third person pov and big words, it might not be your first choice but I highly reccomend it to any readers because hey, this is literally a book about a reader!

Honestly it's hard to find and recognize books that aren't in the best seller's list. And I'm so glad I was provided with a copy cause I'm so glad I got to know the existence of this book. Thank you Jareth for the wonderful experience of this book and for providing me a copy of it.

Thank you so much to the author for sending me a personalized copy! Although I am so so grateful for the gift, this in no way influences my rating or review. Everything I wrote here is my honest opinion.

Dislikes:

𓅓 There was quite a bit of telling instead of showing when it came to learning how the fantastical world worked. The characters explained almost everything in the dialogue or through the character’s internal monologues. I prefer when authors let us figure it out organically by seeing how the world works through action and experience. Some telling through dialogue is helpful to the reader, but the overreliance on it made some of the conversations seem stilted and forced.

Likes:

𓅓 The concept is so cool! I think every reader has asked themselves what book or series they’d want to live in. This book takes that question and runs with it.

𓅓 The dedication.
To all the Black Sheep of the world! Blood may be thicker than water, but toxicity should never be tolerated. Don’t let anyone, regardless of relation, turn you into the sacrificial lamb of your family.

As soon as I read this, I knew I was in for a treat. Good dedications = good books. It’s basic math.

𓅓 The bits of romance we get between Nathaniel & Melissa are sweet. I’m a firm believer that fantasies are always better with a dash of romance.
”Have I told you lately how breathtakingly beautiful you are?”
Melissa’s scowl faded into the beginnings of a smile.

𓅓 The writing. It’s crazy how underrated this author & book is considering how many quotable lines there are. I also liked the humor thrown in amidst the more serious stuff; it’s the perfect balance of funny and deep.
“What is grief, if not love persevering?”

𓅓 There is a huge bookish presence and as a lover of books, I loved this. There were a bunch of references to real books, bookstores and authors. Brandon Sanderson is a literal character in this lol

𓅓 Nathaniel is a reader who just ✨gets it✨ There’s something incredibly comforting about seeing a protagonist who feels at home among books, just like I do. It’s like there’s an unspoken bond between us yk?
Nathaniel felt strangely at home surrounded by books, and there was something welcoming about the labyrinthian nature of the shelves that possessed them

𓅓 The hero is a man who actually shows emotion and cries regularly. *GASP!* Toxic masculinity be gone!

𓅓 Disability representation. Nathaniel has Tourette’s, which I’ve never seen depicted in a book before, and Melissa’s son has acute hearing loss. Although I don’t have personal experiences with either of these, I felt like the author did a good job of researching both to make sure they were represented accurately and tactfully. I also liked how the side characters would make accommodations for them. That part was very sweet.

𓅓 I’ve moved twice and the way the author describes it hit SO HARD
Taking Melissa by the hand, Nathaniel strode to the exit of his former bedroom. Nathaniel felt a pang of regret and melancholy as his right hand turned the doorknob for what would likely be the last time. His earliest memories could be traced to this house, and every inch of the home held a tactile connection direct to his heart.

This is the most accurate description of moving I’ve ever read. He encapsulated how I felt in those moments so well it’s actually crazy.

#19 out of 40 reading from my 2025 must reads shelf (old tbr picks and highly anticipated reads)!!

I can't wait for this! The author very kindly sent me a personalized book in exchange for my review! Here we go! The dedication already got me 🤭
Wow, thank you so much Jareth!!!

How stinkin CUTE!! This was so cozy and yet insane at the same time? I also loved the little cues you get throughout the story telling!

How to best describe the feeling I got while reading this? Let’s see.. imagine you have a book/movie that you just LOVE. Then, you dream about it and it comes to life. You THEN tell people about this dream. This was like people inviting you into their dreams and witnessing the fairytale first hand.

The reveals at the end were truly boggling. I will not give anything away but I had such a great time reading this. I can only imagine what other adventures we could go on in this tale. (Also the subtle jokes thrown in here were so fun)

It’s on kindle unlimited now too! 🤭🤭

My sincerest thanks to Jareth for welcoming me into the dazzling world of the Seventeen Towers. ❤️ This is not a journey I will soon forget...

Playful, heartfelt, and adventurous, Into the Seventeen Towers by Jareth Z. Navratil is a towering achievement in portal fantasy, seamlessly blending high-stakes adventure with profound personal exploration. This fable, as fantastical as it is relatable, follows Nathaniel, a man with the extraordinary ability to step into the worlds of books, as he discovers an unfinished manuscript written by his grandfather. Drawn into the mysterious and treacherous realm of the Seventeen Towers, Nathaniel embarks on a journey fraught with danger, wonder, and emotional revelations. Navratil’s vivid prose brings the whimsical settings to life while tackling themes of grief, addiction, and the enduring bonds of family. This novel isn’t just a good read—it’s a literal page-turner in every sense of the word. Deeply imaginative and emotionally resonant, this novel is a must-read for fans of fantasy with a strong human core.

Wow.

Wow, wow, WOW.

This book has my heart. In a way, it reminds me of all the childhood stories I would read at night, tucked into my bed and wishing I was in those pages.

This story has brought back those feelings and so much more.

“Into the Seventeen Towers” by Jareth Z. Navratil is a captivating tale that transported me to a world of wonder and magic. The authors writing style is truly amazing, weaving a narrative that is both whimsical and relatable. I found myself drawn to the protagonist, Nathanial, whose struggles to balance his love life and family responsibilities resonated deeply.

(Although I do not have a love life 😂)

The concept of “page-walkers”- individuals who can travel into books created by others- is pure genius! Who wouldn’t want to escape into a fictional world? Although all magic comes with a price…

While the book tackles serious themes, it does so with humor and heart. Navratil’s use of language is intriguingg, making this an enjoyable read from start to finish.

(I definitely didn’t finish this within two days…)

The story’s ability to balance lighthearted moments with deeper emotional struggle is a testament to the authors skill.

Overall, “Into the Seventeen Towers” is a heartwarming and engaging read that will appeal to fans of fantasy and adventure. If you’re looking for a story that will transport you to another world and feel uplifted, this is the book for you!

For lovers of Stardust, Inkheart and Princess Bride, this portal fantasy is both whimsical and heartwarming.

We follow Nathanial, a man who can literally enter the pages of the books he reads. When he discovers his grandfather's unfinished manuscript, he enters the story at his own risk, because there is no telling how going into a work in progress will end for him.

From first reading this synopsis, the concept of page-walking really intrigued me. As I dove into this book I really enjoyed falling into this world and getting to know all the characters. Definitely a fun read, although there were times I think the narrative could've moved a bit faster. Overall a creative story and a great read.

I loved this book! It’s a great portal fantasy, awesome world building. The characters are relatable, and the story is fantastic. I finished it in 4 days because I have been reading multiple books and I really wanted to digest this one without burning through it. I eat up fantasy so this story was so cool to mix reality and fantasy together. I also loved all the millennial cameos. 10 out of 10 would recommend.

There was so much detail and imagination it kept me so interested! I feel like from the beginning I was super interested just with the first chapter. I would just like to start off by saying thank you Jareth and family for letting me experience this beautiful novel! As soon as I started reading I knew exactly who this book was about that alone the meaning behind this beautiful story is what drew me all the way in..

Into The Seventeen Towers a journey filled with wonder, courage, love and the power of friendship and family. This story draws you into a world of towering mysteries, where each step feels like a leap of faith into the unknown really it is.... portal, book walking, adventures, magic beings what could happen? I love these types of books that keep you drawn in needing to know what is going to happen next this did just that.

Jareth's writing is beautifully descriptive. The characters are wonderfully developed!!! i mean how couldn't they be *wink* these relationships feel authentic and heartfelt( as you read you'll hopefully catch on). As the book goes on youll see the challenges they face, and some mysteries they entail along the way

What makes this book special to me is its ability to balance adventure with introspection, I love that the story is fantasy yet the meaning behind it is so real . While the physical journey through the towers is thrilling, and so full of adventure the real magic is in the characters personal growth and the lessons they learn along the way. This novel is a reminder of the strength we find in ourselves and in each other, making it a story that stays with you. This is not just a fantasy novel about a page walker, it's about courage, strength, family, and believing in yourself what's not beautiful about that alone. The millennial phrases, the concept of the page walker really has me out here believing in magic and wishing I could jump into a story myself, you have a beautiful gift. Really is such a great novel making me both laugh, and get emotional throughout the entire book.

Robert- Sweet, funny boy (if what is said in the book is true) Don't ever let your disability make you think down on yourself. You have a absolute beautiful life ahead of you, such a beautiful soul. You will go far where ever your heart leads you and you will still do it with greatness whatever it is. It does not define who you are.

I wish you best of luck in your future, your grandfather is more then proud of you!

Let me start off by saying the one word that came to me when I finished the book. Wow. Not only is this book entirely captivating but it’s also so detailed that you would have thought the book is about the authors life. I mean seriously never had I’ve read a book and questioned “I wonder if this is a front and this actually happened to the author”.

“ℬ𝓊𝓉 𝓉𝒽ℯ𝓇ℯ 𝓌𝒾𝓁𝓁 𝒸ℴ𝓂ℯ 𝒶 𝒹𝒶𝓎 𝓌𝒽ℯ𝓃 𝒻ℴ𝓇 𝓉𝒽ℯ 𝑔ℴℴ𝒹 ℴ𝒻 𝓉𝒽ℴ𝓈ℯ 𝓎ℴ𝓊 𝓁ℴ𝓋ℯ, 𝓎ℴ𝓊 𝓂𝓊𝓈𝓉 𝓈𝓉ℴ𝓅 𝓇𝓊𝓃𝓃𝒾𝓃𝑔. ℛℯ𝓂ℯ𝓂𝒷ℯ𝓇, 𝓋𝒾𝓁𝓁𝒶𝒾𝓃𝓈 𝓇𝓊𝓃.𝐁𝐮𝐭 𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐨𝐞𝐬 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐝!“

I think I may have fell in love with every character in this book. Not Terry of course LOL. However, the way the author portrays his characters who are in a MAGICAL realm, to be just normal humans, is just utterly fantastic. I love the witty remarks and how fierce Melissa is.

The entire time I was reading I was so intrigued. I mean it was hard to put the book down. It also took me a little longer to read because I would find myself just staring at the ceiling replaying the scenes in my head. Not because I didn’t understand them, but because I was just so into this book.

I’m going to point out another thing. The authors use of vocabulary. It’s insane actually. I usually can’t seem to like books that use extensively vocabulary but I was searching up some of these words and was flabbergasted about how perfectly they fit the scenes. I’m pretty sure I learned 60 new words… and I read A LOT.

I think this is all of the book review, I don’t really write these often and this is probably my first serious one so I hope I did good. Thank you to Jareth Navratil for sending me this book. Plus the packaging was amazing! I look forward to seeing this book do wonders for your career!!

This book is about a boy that he has the power to walk the pages of the books that he reads and when I first read the summary of this book, I thought to myself what does that even mean? Well it means that he can join in on the story in person and basically jump into the books to be a part of the story. The conflict in this book is that he is also a writer and has not had any books published so when he finds his grandfather’s unfinished manuscript for the book Into the Seventeen Towers, he decides to walk the pages of the unfinished manuscript and finish his the book so that he can publish it. It is a tale of whimsical characters, funny, moments, and tons of fantasy. There were many different moments where I wasn’t expecting something to happen and it did which made me enjoy the book even more. I also loved that the author references many different, popular fantasy movies and books in the book which made it all the better if you get the references. The vibes this book gave me were definitely along the lines of the Narnia series as well as Lord of the Rings because of the magic and also the amount of different mystical creatures and characters. It truly reminded me of the comedy in The Hobbit. While reading the book, I realized that the author really put a lot of his sentimental personal life into this book and that made it so much more worth the while to read it. It is a wonderful read for those who are fans of adventure.

Thank you Jareth for gifting the world your story!

Not one of my usual reads and not really one I would necessarily pick out for myself so I’m quite surprised how much I enjoyed this story.

It’s not a fast paced get to the end type, I feel like this one is all about the journey between the start and finish. Plenty of character growth and I feel like a lot of hidden subtext going on which makes you think and creates moments of complete relatability. Definitely thought and emotion provoking. It hits deep.

I’m still processing it I think.

wow, just WOW. I'm writing this review through tears. this book is one of the most beautifully written stories that I have had the pleasure of reading and experiencing. I wish I could articulate just how much I enjoyed it!! My words are not enough.

I'll start with this. This book truly is so much more than a portal-fantasy novel. The characters felt so real (they are!) and so human to me that it was so easy to connect with them and get absolutely lost in their story.

This book has overarching themes of love, loss, substance abuse and addiction, and grief. it even displays toxic and unhealthy relationships full of manipulation and shows just how complicated and hard they truly are for not only the person in the unhealthy relationship but for their family who loves them so dearly as well.

I have yet to experience a significant loss of a loved one, but this book describes grief so well that I was brought to tears thinking of my own grandparents.

The writing in this book was so descriptive and I felt truly immersed in the story the entire time. I feel like I could just gush forever about this book and the story and how connected I felt to it while reading. Thank you to the author Jareth for sending me your book and allowing me the opportunity to walk its pages! It was a wonderful experience.

and lastly, Screw you Terry the TROLL!!!

EDIT*** I forgot to add, this book is also freakin hilarious!!! to anyone who reads my review, let me tell you, this book is totally worth the read

First, I’d like to thank Jareth for sharing this wonderful story with me, by sending me a copy of his book. A heart warming story of self discovery, found family, and finding the power within. Facing our own demons of self doubt and coming out victorious! I was completely invested in this adventure. And what an adventure it was! I loved the characters and the realm itself. I was transported into the Queendom of The Seventeen Towers and completely enveloped in the story as it played out. Jareth, even though we don’t know each other personally, I want to thank you for bringing me along on this journey. I’m proud of you! I hope that Jeannine finds her way home. 🩷

…. The way I enjoyed this book is incredible….
From start to finish I was sucked into the story! It was incredibly original, I don’t think I’ve read a story quite like this one before 🤔 and I read a LOT so that says something! 🥹

The world building was perfect, no flaws!! It described everything with so much detail that I could literally feel like u was there seeing everything they were seeing 👁️👄👁️

This book has everything that you wish every book have:
• Magic 👏
~ The Magic in this book is amazing, like who thinks art can be a conduit for Magic!! I loved that music was used like this! Also, the Hobby Lobby arts and crafts saving the day 😂🤌
• Fantasy / Mythical creatures 🐦‍🔥
~ LOVED the way he used a different kind of birds to represent the various stages confidence through out the story! Let’s not talk aboutabout Yetis and the Centaurs 🐦‍⬛🦜🐦‍🔥
• Romance: 🥰🫶🏼
~ The romance in this book is perfect😍, it doesn’t over do it and it doesn’t feel forced! Which I sometimes feel happens on this kind of books.. Side note: Jonathan’s wife was a little crazy 🤣 I loved her
• Family 🤧🫂
~ Ugh the family representation on this book was amazing, he shows the highs and lows we go through with our families, Please be aware of some domestic violence notations but nothing too graphic… F Terry 😡

I can honestly say this book has me laughing, gasping and crying out loud 90% of the book 😂😩😭 I literally felt every single emotion available. A true rollercoaster 🎢🎢

The Epilogue 😍😍

I will 1000000 times will recommend this book! 🙌🏼🙌🏼😍

TRUE MASTERPIECE 🫶🏼

Note before I get started: I received this book free from the author and that in no way affects my opinion and review.

Have you ever wanted to enter a fantasy universe? When I was 16 or so I read Lord of the Rings for the first time. I so much wanted to visit the shire and to see the shining white city whose name I currently forget. My dad had bought a book of paintings visualizing events and places in the story. Before I had even read the book I had pored over those paintings and there was one with this gleaming white city up against a mountain. That stuck in my mind and ruminated there. Anyway this review is not about LotR but I just mention that as an instance of someone who so wanted to go and visit places that they had read about in a book. In "Into the Seventeen Towers" we learn that it is possible to do that. To actually enter a book, live vicariously through the characters lives, breathe the air, feel the grass, etc. But not everyone can do it and it's something you're born with so you'd know by now if you were a bookwalker or not.

The main character, Nathaniel is a bookwalker but he hides his ability from everyone including his girlfriend who doesn't read books much anyway (I have no idea what those two see in each other, they seem so different, but whatever). He has also inherited an unfinished book that his grandfather had written. One day Nathaniel hears a voice that sounds like his dead grandfather asking for help and it is coming from his unfinished book, The Seventeen Towers. Nathaniel realizes that he needs to enter Grandpa's book and finish it for him. He does so and boop! disappears, woooooo.....

A week or two later his girlfriend, with her young son in tow, enters Nathaniel's apartment hoping to get him a piece of her mind for ghosting her. She finds an empty apartment and his grandpa's manuscript and a letter from Nathaniel. After reading the letter the enraged girlfriend, with son in tow, enter the manuscript (because, surprise, she and her son are both bookwalkers, isn't that convienient).

I think I'll stop there, don't want to ruin the fun. Let's just say that this isn't a bucolic fantasy setting. There's a villain straight from movies with the expected great dread bad guy...with minions!...and they aren't yellow and talk funny either. Someone, another bookwalker, has control of grandpa's fantasy world and has changed things, and not for the better. Nathaniel, his girlfriend, with son in tow, have to somehow stop the bad guy. The problem is that the Nathaniel ends up not in human form and can't speak! Girlfriend and son are surrounded by the evil bad guy's force of guys on horses with lances. And I said I was gonna stop and now I really mean it.

Let's just say there's lots of heartache, and learning about oneself, and some fun, in a fantastic setting. I really wish I could tell you something about the big battle at the end (because of course there's a big battle at the end, this is a fantasy book!) but I will restrain myself but it is like totally LOL.

Alright now to other things. This is the author's first novel and his writing is decent but there were a few things that irked me which is part of why I rated it 3 stars. I'd say the latter half of the book could be 4 stars. It's difficult for me to rate this book because I've read so many books over my long life that I've come to have high standards. I also have a degree in English (B.A. cum laude) and know some things about writing, especially things not to do because, well it just feels wrong when read. I can't explain it better than that. Grammartists don't just make up rules willy nilly like the government does, but grammar has rules so that the writing sounds good. Like I said earlier, it's not bad writing. I wouldn't have finished it if it was that bad. And he's good on the ole "show don't tell" thing. Just needs some polish, let's say. And that will come with time.

So tl;dr: it'd a good book if you don't have ridiculous high standards like me or are young and haven't read tons and tons of books yet to obtain such standards. Or don't care about the writing, just care about the story.. So I'd say the story has good stuff, plot has some plot twists and that all would be rated 4 stars.

My apologies to Mr. Navratil for the low rating but I can't compromise my honest opinion. I wish you well in your future writing endeavors.

Although the plot is undeniably engaging, there are times when it flags—particularly those sections that delve a bit too deeply into backstory, which threatens to interrupt the flow of the narrative. A greater focus on the present may have cranked up the stakes in Nathaniel's quest even higher.

On the whole, The Seventeen Towers is quite elegantly done in homage to love, loss, and the lasting power of words. Jareth has woven an immersive exploration into what it means and what it entails to move through grief while making space for legacies that shape us. This is a book, therefore, so relatable to one who has, at any point in their life, felt unfinished business, hence becoming an enriching read for young adults and adults alike. With its lyrical prose and affecting themes, this is an epitome that stories themselves are, even when incomplete, a profound concept, revealing in most cases that life is about risks.

“Heart to mind, hand to pen, ink to paper- forging a link that transcended death itself.” What a beautiful read.
Heart warming, whimsical, realistic and sad, but also humorous and relatable. Love all of the references and inside jokes where you’re like the people who get it will get it! It was a little slow to start but halfway through then you’re in it and gunning for the finish line. So thankful for the Author for sharing this magical moment and making you feel like you too are apart of this beautiful family and tale. 🥺✨💞

I am so sorry to have finished this book! I wish I could experience reading it for the first time over and over again. I fell in love with every single character (well, maybe all but one) and laughed and cried along with them throughout every magical chapter. I am not a typical fantasy reader, but this story weaves a fantastical adventure into a relatable reality for anyone who has experienced regret over not reaching their full potential. I will definitely recommend this book to every reader I meet!

The author very kindly offered me a review copy of his debut, and I’m glad he did. We actually swapped books!

Oh boy. What can I say that won’t be a spoiler for this one, while at the same time will be enough to make it a review? This book is anything but what you think it is, whether you read the blurb or not. And it’s simply fantastic. With characters you’ll realize are real and pop off the page. With stakes that have more weight than the words describing them. With more heart and desire for escapism than most.

Nathaniel is a reader. Capable of entering certain stories and actually living out their events. While exhilarating, it can be awfully discombobulating on the reentry to normal life. This is first shown after an explosive chapter in a hit sci-fi novel. Nathaniel makes the mistake of entering while in a bookshop with his girlfriend. A girlfriend he hardly remembers at first. And while portal fantasy isn’t all that new, I found this to be a refreshing and unique take on one with meshed elements of urban fantasy.

When the family is clearing out their late grandfather’s home, Nate comes across his unfinished manuscript and it calls to him. The following trip takes months in real time, as well as probably years off his life due to the stress. Nathaniel must overcome incredible odds to overthrow the one that plagues his grandfather’s tale, with stakes that weigh heavily on those in the outside world.

The author weaves such a brutal and heart-wrenching tale, and yet it is so filled with warmth and courage. The ability to find oneself, as well as prove themselves while they’re at it. The chance to be seen and feel seen. And the chance to rewrite yourself. Isn’t that exactly what escapism is all about? This one needs more readers.

It’s a bit hard to review this book with no spoilers.
This book was a lot of things. On the surface, it’s an amazing and adventurous story where the main character, his girlfriend, and her son are able to enter a book. They live inside this fantasy world and overcome various obstacles together.

For me, there was a lot more deeper messages too. This story dealt with grief and how an author can live on in their books. How we read books to escape the real world. It’s about family and the people who take care of us. It’s about overcoming your own self doubt. That words spoken or written (even in a fictional book) have power. That people with more privilege can help those with less. And how you can be the hero in your own story.

It was really funny at times and really heartwarming at others. The authors note and acknowledgements at the end had me tearing up. It’s really sweet how this author brought his family to life in this incredible adventure. You can feel his love for his family in it and I feel honored to have been given the chance to read this.

Into the Seventeen Towers felt nostalgic for me like this was written for the adult who loved Jumanji as a kid. I loved it and I really hope this author finds more readers! I know I’m a fan and would love to read anything else the author puts out next 🖤

Ah, where to begin?! I normally read rather fast, but this one, I took my time... I thought maybe the book itself was just slow, but I realized I was simply taking it all in, quite possibly, in real time. I have a strong suspicion these pages contain a world the author wrote long ago on one of his own journeys!! I wasn't reading a story, I was living it, feeling it!!
Theres a lot of characters, which normally I find annoying, but I had no trouble keeping them straight... probably because I was there and people are always around in this life, too.
My connections started at the very beginning. My kiddos hate going to their dad's place. So I instantly felt what Nathaniel felt. And I, too, used books to escape the parts of my childhood I didn't know how to process; I have lived thousands of lives better than my own. Countless times, I have wished to write a different story, not really for me but for my kiddos, to give them the power to alter the very fabric of their story.
This heartwarming, wholesome, epic novel should soar onto shelves. There's lessons, truths, and heart within its pages. This story literally lets you know you're not alone. There's always somewhere to go, and there is someone who'll follow you and walk beside you.
Thank you, Jareth, for this gorgeous physical copy that I could flex my reading skills in.... the journey on these pages is anything but inadequate 📚

Into the Seventeen Towers has a creative premise and the idea of being able to page walk and explore literature by living within the pages is intriguing, and there are moments in the book where the potential shines through.

While the characters and plot didn’t fully resonate with me, I can see how other readers of fantasy and adventure might appreciate the depth and complexity that is offered. The pacing was a bit slow and I found it challenging to relate to the characters. However, the author’s effort to craft a unique universe is evident.

Overall, Into the Seventeen Towers may not have been a perfect fit for me but I appreciate the story nonetheless and wish the author all the best in his future endeavors.

A very pleasant read. I can’t tell you how many authors present an interesting premise and fumble the execution and I was pleased to find that the premise was both interesting and well executed. I look forward to more work from this author!
