Two dragons for Scorching Hot or Scorched Earth? Riley I’m desperate to move past my crappy ex. You know what they say, the best way to get over someone, is to get under someone else. When I lay eyes on Tristan with his exuberant antics and smokin’ hot body, I know just who I want to get under. Tristan Life with my billionaire daddy fulfills my every dream. I have no desire to invite a third person into our perfect life until Riley sets my heart ablaze. Evan One younger dragon was more than enough for me, but when Tristan makes friends with this sexy new man, I decide two dragons for Daddy is NOT too hot to handle. From USA Today Bestselling Author Amarra Skye comes this May-December romance featuring a grumpy, sunshine threesome, with lots of steamy fun.
Dragons for Daddy is part of the Pet Play by the Lake multi-author, shared world series. You can expect plenty of snuggling, romping and playtime from a variety of adorable pets and their commanding Daddies and Masters.
I read this - even after a DNF of one of the others in the series - because I was curious about dragon play. While I found the book to be entertaining, there were a few things in it that kind of drove me crazy, along with an inconsistency with regard to a character from Prancing With Daddy. Twice Cody (from that book) is described as a pony when he wasn't. Shane, Cody's love interest, was the pony. One time I could overlook, but not two. I know the books are written by two different authors, but still. They're in the same series.
Even so, I liked Evan, Tristan, and Riley for the most part.
Oof. So after I got about a third of the way through I just kind of speed read the rest of it. I love that the author themselves is kinky. That is awesome to see kink representation and it was prevalent for some parts of the story. The highlight of this book for me was that during this convention they were at they had a panel about pet play, and there were comments made about how sometimes pet play spaces can be dominated by cis gay men and can feel unwelcoming for women and nonbinary people. There was also another comment on how often pet play is sexualized and so asexual kinksters can feel ostracized in the community. It's like two paragraphs but it was the highlight of this book and I love seeing an author who is aware of those issues especially when we're reading a gay romance.
Beyond that though, this book is a disaster. It is so choppy and the writing is extremely stilted. There's almost no dialogue whatsoever only after the fact paragraphs of what they may have talked about. This is an established couple goes to a convention and takes on a third situation and where there should be immense amounts of conversation and dialogue, there's almost none.
What could have been a very interesting book was so boring and annoying to read because of how choppy it was. It was kind of a letdown to have an author who in their bio specifically states all of their kink experience and then doesn't put hardly any of that experience into the book itself. I just really wanted to like it but I just didn't. I might give this author another shot cuz I know I have another book in my Kindle library right now that I got for free from one of the romance bookworms giveaway things, but I am going into it with low expectations.
I am also still not over the fact that one of the main characters is a billionaire and he gets a private plane for them to travel to this event and then they take the shuttle from the airport to the event space. Like really? That's where they meet the other main character and I get that maybe they needed a meeting place but you're really trying to convince me that a man who got a private plane because his sub wanted to take more of his sexy dragon hoard with him took a public shuttle? I'm not buying it. Also I kind of want to go back and count how many times the word hoard is used but it's ridiculous. I realize that this pet play is dragon play but it was wild and repetitive.
Riley is a dragon and just wants to stop being lonely and get over his ex. When he sees Tristan who is also a dragon he is mesmerised by how exuberant he is and how loved he is by his billionaire Daddy Evan. But they seem to want to get to know him more and he is definitely attracted to them. Evan thought one dragon was enough but after Tristan makes friends with Riley he starts to think that maybe he could cope with two dragons.
This was a sweet story about how the Pet Play at the Lake event connected Evan and Tristan with Riley and gave them a happy ever after. I liked that they went to areas nearby so that they could experience more and I loved the thought of a rollercoaster being used to make a dragon feel as if they were flying. Easy to read and understand. This is an MMM romance containing mature content featuring BSDM-like pet play, DDLB and D/s.
I refuse to apologize for my review on the 2nd book in this series because Amarea Sky was able to write a book that allowed a character to explore their kink in a way that wasn't forced nor was it under some mafia kidnapping plot. This book started out so sweet and the characters were built in a fun way that never felt rushed I felt like we saw another side to the PetCon and it flowed so well. I loved the ending I cannot wait till the last Rockinghorse ranch book is out!!!
I really enjoy this authors other books so I was keen to read the Pet Play series. I have to say this is the best book so far for me. I loved everyone's point of view of course it's difficult to write about this kind of relationship without someone seeming left out and it was true here there were times where I wondered how the character would cope but it wasn't uncomfortable to read or anything. I'm so happy Amarra Skye got to write this story as part of this series.
I loved the premise of a Daddy with two dragons, and was not disappointed! Evan has his hands full with Tristan, whose dragon is a wild thing, and add quite dragon Riley to the mix and this book is just a fun hot mess!!!!
I enjoyed Tristan, Riley and Evan’s story. I especially liked the scenes where Tristan/Kath and Riley/Rowen were interacting while in their dragon headspace. I’m enjoying the series and the focus on the different types of pets.
I had a blast reading this. It was all the things I love about Amarra’s work. Great characters and an awesome storyline. Sweetie and sexy without being over the top. Plus we got to see an old friend. Man I loved it.
This was a fun and steamy take on mmm pet play and a well written story. I wish there was more communication, but then there would. Be absolutely no angst.
This story is so exciting and dramatic. I loved every single moment of these characters and how they found their lives and happily ever after together forever.
This is shockingly adorable. I am so excited for the rest of the universe to come out. I love meeting new friends and honestly? Discovering a world I didn’t know existed. I’m so happy for this happily ever after. As always Amarra Skye wrote wonderfully and let the imagination soar.
