Take note it's dark and taboo; sorry that it has a strong bratva representation. Yes, I’m picky with organized crime. Did it meet my expectations? Yes. It did.
This novella is compelling from the start; it’s a slow burn but yes a lot in it and not over the top. Very well written. Not one detail was overlooked.
I Met Konstantin, my newest obsession. Loyal to a fault. Always there to project Nikoletta, even when she had no clue. Nikoletta wants something for herself and not a pawn to her family. They were both caught up in a whirling vortex of emotions. Knowing they don’t have forever.
The ending ended in a doozy of a cliffhanger, which definitely left me wanting more.

Unholy Vows is the most anticipated novella for me in the anthology. I was far from disappointed. The author has yet to disappoint me. I knew I was in a delicious, dark, and salacious story from the author's notes alone,
For such a short story, it was a packed, emotionally spicy story. Let’s start with Declan, Aka “The Devil.” with dark demons, an illegal job, and his that belongs to one person. I need more of him. Fingers crossed, we read more of him in the future, let Eve, The naughty nun Declan’s other half. After four tears apart, it is not his chance to reconnect.
Overall it's a fantastic short story. My only constructive criticism is it wasn’t enough, it left me wanting more of these two. Fingers crossed, we get more in the future. For dark, religion-taboo readers, this is for you.

Saved by a Sinner by Sienna Varrone 4.5/5 "If I touch you the way I want to, I'll ruin you."
Wow, what an incredible forbidden novella! This is the first I've read by Sienna Varrone but it definitely won't be the last.
Leonardo, a hitman for the mafia, sees Kyra for the first time outside of his church. She's gone through something traumatic and had nowhere to go. They get closer over the course of a few months. Leo want to ruin Kyra and she definitely wants to be ruined. I love the religious aspects in this book, it's my favorite so far.
"God couldn't save me from hurt, from judgment, from darkness. But you can. So the question is for you. Will you save me? Save me with sin?"
"Yes. Always yes, Kyra."

First off, this whole anthology is full of taboo/forbidden/crazy kinky stuff!
This novella is about Nikoletta and Konstantin. They're godfather/goddaughter. It opens with Nikoletta at a sketchy place, willing to sell her virginity to the highest bidder. It's the only thing she can control in her life- her virginity. What she didn't know, her godfather was in the audience and watched her as she stripped.
Leaning over her, my forehead pressed to her thundering heart, I fill her, spilling every fucking ounce of myself into her until we're boneless and gasping with Jesus looming on a massive cross right over our heads.
This novella wasn't as religious as I'd hoped, although I enjoyed it. I want to be forced to bathe in holy water after reading a religious romance... 3/5.

Wowzers what an instantaneous holy read! To be a short story in an anthology this was good and delivered the message well! This story is based on a second-chance romance and the MMC was going to get his prospect! Now I want to sprint to read The Saint and see about the mysterious Phoenix King 👑! “If I knew you were here… If I knew there was a chance you still wanted me, I would have stopped at nothing to get you back. I would destroy the world for you, Eve.”

🤫A little confession, I almost did not read this story, because it's an age-gap trope, I'm just not a big fan.
Hmm so not exactly what I was expecting it was going to go, the FMC was the robust one of the relationship, she pushed and made sure her feelings were known toward the MMC. This was good but the ending, well there wasn't one really, but also I have to keep in mind this is a short story 😮💨.

I almost didn't read this one, there was no synopsis so I went in blind. Glad I read it and started off really well, the MMC is part of an agency that takes down mafia families, so Germaine is playing an undercover agent representing a Priest. The FMC is what made this into a 3-star, so would have been 4.5, but she was a 10-year-old stuck in a 29-year-old body. I mean seriously she didn't know anything sexually, what is an orgasm, why that feels so good, or being denied release, why is it painful, I mean come on!! But yet she's not afraid to make the first move!?! Seriously 😒 Okay, she annoyed me too much, and the insta-love was so cringe! Out of the other two books I’ve read this plot was the best just unfortunately the FMC failed for me.

This was a deliciously satisfactory read! IDK if it's just me but the stories keep getting better through this anthology and also I think I found a new favorite author. Varrone delivered this hot seductive book! Everything was composed perfectly of the plot, world-building, and the relationship between the two MCs. If Varrone wrote such a great short story, I know for a fact her other work would probably outshine this jewel. Oh, and I have a new book boyfriend and his name is Leo! 🤤🤤🤤I wholly recommend this story!

Maybe the age gap is my thing and I just didn't realize it until now! This was a preparatory private Catholic school/ teacher romance, and it was a very spicy read 🔥🔥🔥.

..."Unholy Vow" by Delaney Dare....
"Does your God know you're a sinner?"
First off, Declan Gallagher is fire and I need to read more about him asap. Working for Phoenix (whom I am also excited to read more about) as his own personal hitman, he has a dark past and an unknown future. When he catches the voice of a ghost from his past, he realizes how much he needs it again in his life.
That brings us to Eve. Having been placed in the church after she was left by the man she loved, in the worst way...or so she thinks. When the two collide, it is an inferno of emotions and steam and someone is definitely going to have to pay for their sins.
"Tell me, Eve, now that you've brought the Devil to his knees, how would you like him to worship you?"
This novella was short and steamy and left you wanting so much more! I hope we are not done with this couple and I definitely want more in this world!! I loved the writing and even though their entire falling out was a huge misunderstanding - I loved how much they wanted nothing but each other, like they couldn't get enough. I'd really like to read more about them!

This short story is FULL of story. Angst. Forbidden love. Age-gap. Wars. Blood. Mafia. Virginity. Theirs so much to unpack in this short novella, I didn't want to stop turning the pages.
Nikoletta and Konstantin are a whirlwind. Both wanting what they cant have. Duty is encroaching and even though they know they wont have forever, they realize they have now and eventually make the most of it. When their bubble is broken and their "now" time has officially come to an end, what will become of them both? A slave to her brother and father's mission to become a powerful force? A bargaining chip to end the war? Will Konstantin be able to live with his betrayal and they way she looks at him after his secrets are revealed?
Ahhhh goodness. I need this story in my life. Their was just so much to unpack and I was not ready for the ending. I have never read this author before, but she left us aching and definitely in need for this couple to continue what could be explosive fireworks! I cant wait to read to more.

R.A. Smyth has done it again. The story of Kali and Don sucks you in!
In the small town of Esteridge, Kali is the scapegoat and sacrificial lamb. Someone the entire religious town has blamed Kali for, for one thing or another for things that have happened around town. When Don comes into town, seeing her beauty and speaking to the other part of his soul, he is determined to keep her safe and start a life with her.
Whisking her away, Kali is thrusted into a new world complete opposite of what she knows. Don introduces her to the Church of Satan and everything starts to make sense from her life. This steamy, inquisitive read is jaw dropping and I am fully invested in Kali's future story. I cant wait to read more.

RA Smyth’s first occult offering has me hooked! I cannot wait for her to dive more into this genre because this tiny taste of a Satan-worshiping cult was not enough!
I loved the way the cult was portrayed in counterpoint to the “righteous Christians” who had raised the FMC through physical and emotional torture under the guise of saving her soul/cleansing her of the devil.
The steam is delicious, and the MMC has a sinfully wicked mouth. *chef’s kiss* to the way RA wrote the FMC’s first time.

I loved reading about these characters and the way that this author brings them to life. Declan and Eve are absolutely amazing to read about and once you start reading there story with all the hot chemistry between them both you won't be able to stop. Eve has been a so much while Declan is a tough guy.

I loved this Anthology a lot! Each story had its sacrilege theme unique to each one respectively. It's got some mafia romance, slow burn, former flames, forbidden romance, bdsm, and so much more!

Years later, Declan is involved in some shady stuff and this is when he sees Eve again... as a nun. This resurfaces the flame they held. They thought the other had left the other behind. Eve reveals her sad truth that becomes Declan's sad reality. Though Eve had found refuge in the church and would have taken her vows, it never felt like home.
If their story was written into a full length novel, it would be interesting to read from when their story begun. There's so much that could be explored with their story.

Honest ARC Review for Unholy Vow by Delaney Dare: This short story was filled with heartache, reconnection, and unholy spice. Declan is known as the Devil for the work he does for his boss. He is a dark man who is used for violence. When he sees a nun that he recognizes right away he is blown away. Eve has been through so much in her life and despite becoming a Nun soon she still isn’t happy. She thought she had love once but it was all a lie. When she runs into Declan for the first time in many years she is filled with anger. When these two finally talk things get heated very quickly. I loved how dark, mysterious, and passionate Declan is. He is willing to do anything for his girl. Eve has gone through so much and I was so happy she could finally be on her road to happiness. You will need to pray after reading the spicy scene. This is part of the Sacrilege Anthology that is currently free!

She knows that she is nothing to her father but one of his pawns. With her purity being the one thing she has to herself she boldly decides to wield it. Konstantin is about to make a deal when he happens to see his Goddaughter auctioning off her virginity at the club. He is outraged and decides to “buy” her so that none of the disgusting dangerous men can put hands on her. They are both caught up in danger and find themselves stuck together below a church. Both of them have always shared a connection but have never crossed that line before. The sexual tension in this novella was off the charts. I was on the edge of my seat just waiting for that moment to happen. The taboo nature of the relationship was delicious and the spice was definitely smoking. This does end on a bit of a cliffhanger as this is just the beginning. This story is part of the Sacrilege Anthology that is currently free.

Absolutely loved the second chance trope. It was absolutely perfect.
Poor Eve. She's been though so much, so much than any other human could survive. But she's still here.

Deceived by Eve's parents, torn apart by simply loving each other.

This was such a pleasant read given the short length of it!
Unholy Vows brings us along the story of Declan and Eve. Two young lovers who were separated by lies and societal ideologies. Both torn apart and having to deal with their own lives, they meet again and several truths are uncovered.
Eve is such a strong character, especially given what she's had to go through, but knowing that she had to go through that all alone really tore me.
If you're looking for dark and spicy book that mixes with the forbidden of religion, you've got a good and quick read here! The altar scene had me 🥵.

Twisted Lust is dark, and very forbidden. This is the first book I've read in this trope (Godfather/goddaughter) and I was feeling conflicted but also loving it at the same time. I think this is what makes Beck, Beck. No rules, no bullshit, and no fucks given.
Twisted Lust gave mafia vibes, age gap, and a sexual tension that was very palpable. Even though it is a short book and therefore isn't able to provide lots or details, I can't wait to see what happens to this forbidden couple because tensions were high when the story ended here.
If you're into these tropes, don't miss out on this one!

It was an ok read. It was a prequel, Tempest's series will be out in 2024! 😕

So I really really liked pretty much all of these stories but this review will be highlighting a few of them.

This story wasted no time getting to the tension! Declan runs into Eve after years have passed of them not seeing each other only to find her dressed as a nun. You can feel how angry and hurt they are with each other right away. Both believing the other has broken their heart with no remorse yet still drawn to each other.
Knowing they are in the same city becomes too much for Declan and he needs answers. As the truth is revealed their hearts break all over again in a different way but also begin on the path to healing. Now that Declan has Eve back in his life there’s only one thing left to do - show her that the the sisters can’t offer her what he can. And boy does he offer it right there in front of God and anyone who may stumble upon them! 😂
The mouth on this man! 👏🏻👏🏻 Filthy! 🙌🏻
The rosary thing was so hot I can’t even explain why and I will never look at another one the same way. I loved these two, their connection, and their story. I would love to see more from them in the future!

I didn’t know I needed a naughty Bratva godfather on my book boyfriend list but Konstantin is sure on it now! His loyalty is possibly the sexiest thing about him. I mean he’s basically sacrificed his full happiness for years because of it. And once he held his little bee in his arms and became Nicoletta’s godfather that loyalty shifted to her along with his protection for the rest of her life.
So naturally, sitting at an auction watching her sell off her V card to take the one thing from her father she felt like she could control didn’t go over well. After saving her from such a risky situation they wind up having to hide out underground to remain safe while they wait for one of her brothers to show up. Suddenly it’s all too clear that things have shifted between the two of them and the reactions they are having to each other can no longer be ignored. This poor man really does try to fight it but Nicoletta fights back just as hard for what she wants - and that’s Konstantin.
The spice takes a little bit to really get good and heated up but he more than makes up for it in the end. And let me tell you this brings a whole new meaning to giving yourself to someone being a religious experience. 💀
But that ending has me itching for more of their story! What a way to leave us on a cliffhanger! 😳 Without a doubt I MUST know what happens with them next especially when they are smack dab in the middle of a Bratva family war.

Oh Nate… this poor sweet broken man!! 😭
His story breaks my heart into pieces! You always see women with his kind of past and trauma but hardly ever men. This story sheds light on how men can be manipulated, taken advantage of, abused, and shamed in the same ways that women can. Trauma is trauma no matter who it happens to or where it comes from. To know that he got out of his awful situation only to be betrayed in the end and left living a life he wasn’t sure he was worthy of anymore just hit me in the chest so hard.
But then Eden bounces into his life when he’s at one of his lowest moments and makes him feel things he thought he’d locked away for good. I loved the playful banter they have throughout the night they meet and how it builds up the steamy tension between them. And as he loses himself in her orbit at war with himself on who he’s meant to be she shows him what it’s like to have all of the pieces of you be accepted. Besides all that BDE running through his veins deserves to be let loose and appreciated not shamed away and locked in a box. 😆
And let me add one last thing - their ending and the path they take to get there was so perfect! It was exactly what each of them needed in order to be their best selves in their future. 👏🏻👏🏻

I didn’t know I needed a naughty Bratva godfather on my book boyfriend list but Konstantin is sure on it now! His loyalty is possibly the sexiest thing about him. I mean he’s basically sacrificed his full happiness for years because of it. And once he held his little bee in his arms and became Nicoletta’s godfather that loyalty shifted to her along with his protection for the rest of her life.
So naturally, sitting at an auction watching her sell off her V card to take the one thing from her father she felt like she could control didn’t go over well. After saving her from such a risky situation they wind up having to hide out underground to remain safe while they wait for one of her brothers to show up. Suddenly it’s all too clear that things have shifted between the two of them and the reactions they are having to each other can no longer be ignored. This poor man really does try to fight it but Nicoletta fights back just as hard for what she wants - and that’s Konstantin.
The spice takes a little bit to really get good and heated up but he more than makes up for it in the end. And let me tell you this brings a whole new meaning to giving yourself to someone being a religious experience. 💀
But that ending has me itching for more of their story! What a way to leave us on a cliffhanger! 😳 Without a doubt I MUST know what happens with them next especially when they are smack dab in the middle of a Bratva family war.

Oh Nate… this poor sweet broken man!! 😭
His story breaks my heart into pieces! You always see women with his kind of past and trauma but hardly ever men. This story sheds light on how men can be manipulated, taken advantage of, abused, and shamed in the same ways that women can. Trauma is trauma no matter who it happens to or where it comes from. To know that he got out of his awful situation only to be betrayed in the end and left living a life he wasn’t sure he was worthy of anymore just hit me in the chest so hard.
But then Eden bounces into his life when he’s at one of his lowest moments and makes him feel things he thought he’d locked away for good. I loved the playful banter they have throughout the night they meet and how it builds up the steamy tension between them. And as he loses himself in her orbit at war with himself on who he’s meant to be she shows him what it’s like to have all of the pieces of you be accepted. Besides all that BDE running through his veins deserves to be let loose and appreciated not shamed away and locked in a box. 😆
And let me add one last thing - their ending and the path they take to get there was so perfect! It was exactly what each of them needed in order to be their best selves in their future. 👏🏻👏🏻
So yea I may come back and add some more specifics for other stories featured here later as I sort of process all the characters I’ve met recently but for now these are the three I’d say are must reads for sure!

Eve is a novitiate, pledged to join the church. Declan is the man she loved, whom she believes abandoned her. They come face to face at the strip club where Declan works, and that's where their story catches fire! Ms Dare has said this short will become a full book, and I can't wait. 5/5 ⭐ for steam and story.
Beck Knight's story, Twisted Lust is up next. Read her author note, it's worth the price of admission, and if you get the anthology for free, you got a gem!

The Bratva in his blood, Konstantin will betray the man he considers his brother for Nicoletta. A twisted, age gap story. Please, please, please, I'm begging for this to be made into a full length story. 5/5 ⭐ for a twisted tale and spice.
Lastly, I read Lost In Eden, by Hayden Locke. A priest is in a bar, drinking away his pain. A sinner is hustling at the pool table. Put these two together and you have a forbidden story of lust, sex, betrayal, and guilt.
Nate is a deacon in the church. A widower. His vows forbid him to remarry, and he must remain celibate. Eden is a hustler, born and raised. These two share a game of darts, sharing their stories, sharing their pain. Sharing their want and desire. A forbidden love, age gap tale. Ms Locke hasn't decided if she's going to release Lost In Eden as a full length story, but Nate and Eden deserve that ending! 5/5 twisted ⭐'s!

I always get excited when RA Smyth puts out a new story. As always, PHENOMENAL! She can LITERALLY write anything! I was hooked from the very beginning!!

Sacrilege is an antho filled to the brim with novellas and novelettes, all with some sort of religious aspect weaved into its core. Each contributing author developed on their chosen themes beautifully, giving us all a taste of what they have to offer, and ultimately leaving us craving more. There were, however, a few entries that I do wish had a bit more of that religious taboo flavor, but they were great nonetheless.
Since it can be difficult to review anthologies because of the varying content, I always like to touch upon a few things that I normally leave out of my usual reviews.
The cohesiveness is pretty on point, all while giving each author their own unique voice. The tone throughout doesn't stray too far from itself, which is something I always appreciate in an antho. The book as a whole is also superbly edited. Very rarely did I come across any typos or grammatical errors, which is a solid selling point for a collection of this scale. And lastly, formatting is consistent and perfectly organized. All in all this project was exquisitely and professionally constructed, and I'm glad to have had the chance to dive into it.
Five stars for the beautiful cover!

Forgive me Father because this anthology is packed full of sinfully delicious tales that had me hooked from the beginning to the end. I am speechless (and in need of new under garments) with how good this anthology is.

If you love a cocky possessive alphahole character then you will love Germaine as the undercover priest Father Zimmerman. He's a dirty talking agent who wants one woman he isn't supposed to, but that won't change his mind once he gets his little one Jacqulin finally. One tough ignites all his illicit thoughts and feelings for her. His need to claim and breed her is on the extreme levels here.
Jacqulin is the sweet and innocent girl who has been stuck in boarding school and hasn't been home for fourteen years until her father abruptly calls her home. She has no clue her father is tied to so many bad people until she's forced to marry a man that will guarantee her a life of pain. One naughty touch from Father Zimmerman brings out a tsunami of inappropriate feelings which only intensifies each time. She's innocent and inexperienced but she's knows she wants to be Germaine's good girl.
