I have read over 100 of her books so I feel okay to say that these last Lantern Beach books 1 and 2 seemed to have been written in a hurry. Book 2 is better than book 1. Book 1 actually has not ended yet. Maybe the issues will eventually be resolved in book 3.

Book 2 in the Lantern Beach Exposure Series by Christy Barritt will keep you on the edge of your seat while reading this book.
You will feel all the emotions that Abby is going through and experience the struggles of Blackout Security employee, Hunter, as he tries to keep everyone safe. We also get to see Police Chief Cassidy do her job and help to find answers to all the many questions.
These Blackout guys are definitely someone you would want on your team if there were ever any problems. They are ex-Navy SEALs, and boy, do they know how to protect!
Christy Barritt is an author who knows how to keep you reading and reading and reading until you’ve realized you’re done. Her books are filled with suspense, action, mystery, drama, and a touch of sweet romance. There is always a twist that you will never see coming. She’s that good!
So if you want to read and read until you forget that you need to eat or sleep, then this is the book and series you need to pick up!

SO GOOD!
From the opening pages this story grabbed me and didn't let go until the very word! And yes it took me less than 2 days to read it!
This story brought back Abby the owner of the theater who is working on a new production when she finds the dead body, who happened to be her soundman and the man she had just had dinner with.
Hunter was a great leading man. I loved watching him slowly open up not only to Abby but to himself.
The action was good! And keep me wondering who was behind Abby's troubles. I did guess right but still enjoyed how the story played out.
It was also nice to see some of my favorite Lantern Beach characters in this story.
I also love the couple of tidbits that the author dropped for the next book!

Just when things seem a little calmer in Lantern Beach, a dead body shows up in the community theater. Could danger be following Abby again? Or is it something completely different? Hunter is hired by Abby's friends to be her bodyguard while everyone tries to find answers to this mystery? If you are an "old friend" of Lantern Beach, you will "see" some of your friends in this book. If you are new, you will want to read all the books after you read this one! Another intriguing mystery set in Lantern Beach, this suspense-filled novel grabs readers attention and won’t let go. Actress Abby Mendez faces numerous difficulties as she tries to get her theater up and running. However, real life provides much more drama than the stage does. Hunter Bancroft, a Blackout operative on the island, gets tasked with protecting Abby. Together they hunt for the criminal amid danger and mayhem. This is the second book in a new series, but it can stand alone. Don’t miss this exciting thriller. I received a copy from the author. All opinions are my own.

Abby is trying to get her acting troupe & theater off the ground, but things keep happening--a dead body, car crash into the building, physical attacks, kidnapping, mysterious sand messages, & other calamaties--and the show is put off indefinitely. Just like romance-we''ll have none of that! Because both Abby's and Hunter's last relationships went awry and their TQ-Trust Quotient--is low. If they can just put those old demons aside, anything can happen. As usual, Christy Barritt does not disappoint.

Awesome read
This was an awesome read. The characters Abby and Hunter, who were opposites of each other, were great. Hunter isn't looking for romance and prefers staying in the shadows while Abby enjoys acting and being in the limelight. The two of them are drawn together when it becomes clear that someone is after Abby.
I loved how the book club members decided to do some matchmaking between Hunter and Abby. I did figure out who was responsible for Abby's troubles.
Looking forward to the third installment in this series.

Christy Barritt really knows how to write the books full of suspense, mystery, and danger. Abby has moved to Lantern Beach using her savings to start a local theater. When a guy she dated only once ends up dead in her office after their date, her friends hire Hunter, the guy who rescued her, to be her bodyguard. Hunter works for a local security firm that hires ex military. After his wife passed away, he has no desire for a relationship with anyone. But when Abby seems to be put in the crosshairs of a killer, he will do all he can to save her.

Later Beach is a haven for the wealthy yet the crazies are known for coming too. Poor Abby just wanted a way to express her creativity and have a modest life but trouble just keeps following her. Hunter seeks the quiet life but his past is a mystery he wants to solve. Together they get a taste of each others past in a not so good way. Enjoy reading how it all comes together! Couldn't quit reading until I did and wasn't disappointed.

Loved being back with this author again. Hunter and Abby story was exciting from start to finish. Both weren't looking for love. He became her bodyguard. Both had things in their pasts to work through. But as they were together their love grew. They had a great group of friends. Looking forward to the next story. Hope Hunter and Abby story continues also Rachel and Jonah. Will read more by this author.

Her friends hire Blackout team member, Hunter Bancroft as her bodyguard. As the threats escalate, they attempt to figure out who is out to get her. An engaging story filled with suspense and a bit of romance. Great read.

Both knew the exact type they would stay away from dating in the future. But how to tell, since colors often don’t show until we’ll into the relationship? Add in a murdered bad date and too many incidents with friends, and you have a book to keep you up late!

My thoughts: Ms. Barritt is tge queen of cozy mysteries. She is a very prolific author and I can't keep up with her books, but every chance I get one I read one. There is a mild faith message, a strong and hurting former seal hero, a determined woman who won't let a man contol her and lots of action and activity. You can't miss this book or any of the other ones in this series. Grab your copy now. I was given a copy free and all opinions are my own.

So glad I don't live on Lantern Beach!
It seems that the island is a magnet for crime and the criminals create havoc. As each is captured, another shows up in a new book. Fortunately, the books are well written, stories aren't terribly alike, regular residents are good people who care about each other and welcome newcomers. Looking forward to the next book by this author!

Suspenseful, intriguing, Page Turner
Exciting new novel by Christy Barritt!! although her novels are similar, they are very far from being the same. When this book came out, I had already gone through four books trying to find one that was enticing enough to read this book hit the mark.! I’m sticking with this author and looking forward to her next release.

Abby and Hunter both have pasts that make them wary of the opposite sex and determined not to fall in love again, but when Abby discovers a body in her theater, and her life is obviously in danger, it's Hunter to the rescue. Can two discouraged, battered persons meet in the middle and have a happy ending or will their pasts collide and end someone's life?

This book is full of action. I think that the guy needs defensive driving lessons. He is on an island for goodness sake. It can't be that hard to avoid getting hit so many times. It is an enjoyable story with good characters.

Wow! So much happens to Abby in this book it's like she has a target on her back. The story also sets us up nicely for the next book. As for Hunter, like Abby, events in his past have defined him but he eventually rises above them and determines his own path as does Abby.

Abby was working hard to get the Theater back up. They had even began meeting and getting things going. Then people started to be missing and then turn up dead. Hunter is On sheriff Cassidy’s husband’s team. Love this series too. Can’t wait for the next one.

Abby's dream is wrapped up in the theater she buys on Lantern Beach. But when it is targeted & almost destroyed that dream may be gone forever. This is another engaging mystery by Ms. Barritt that I thoroughly enjoyed.

Good cozy mystery
This is a Christian romantic mystery and is a fun read. My only complaint is that the main characters repeatedly go on and on about how a relationship is not a good idea. It would be great if these books did not waste time on that and get on with the story.

What does acting and performing have to do with a murder? It is all here in Christy Barritt's new book. Set on the quaint Island of Lantern Beach her books have it all. The small town feel with big problems thrown in. A can't put it down book! Don't miss this and the rest of the series.

An exciting romantic mystery.
This is the second installment of the Lantern Beach series and the novel reads as well as the first book. There was a little confusion toward the end of the novel, but the novel was a good read. Recommended
