It was a dark and stormy night when our house was visited by a mouse, requiring our urgent assistance in a matter of life and death. The thing is that it’s not easy to garner sympathy for the plight of mice, who are not a popular species, so we had a hard time convincing Odelia to do something. But soon a special committee was formed to look deeper into the matter. Unfortunately the committee members were too busy battling their inner demons to bother with saving a colony of mice. And so in the end it was up to us to put our best paw forward and show them how things are done.
Nic has a background in political science and before being struck by the writing bug worked odd jobs around the world (including but not limited to massage therapist in Mexico, gardener in Italy, restaurant manager in India, and Berlitz teacher in Belgium).
When he’s not writing he enjoys curling up with a good (comic) book, watching British crime dramas, French comedies or Nancy Meyers movies, sampling pastry (apple cake!), pasta and chocolate (preferably the dark variety), twisting himself into a pretzel doing morning yoga, going for a run, and spoiling his big red tomcat Tommy.
He lives with his wife (and aforementioned cat) in a small village smack dab in the middle of absolutely nowhere and is probably writing his next ‘Mysteries of Max’ book right now.
Really enjoyed the combination of several mysteries that ended up bringing the whole mystery together. Everything started out separately, then all came together in a cohesive fascinating story line. Then again there's always Max and Dooley. They end up saving the day for humans and animals alike. Throughout this whole 65 book series I've yet to read a disappointing book. Each one has been phenomenal!! I absolutely love this series!!!!
I finished the series! Now what am I going to do? I fell totally in love with the characters and their adventures. Thank you Mr. Saint… you provided endless evenings of laughs & a great feeling of family. You even helped me understand my kittens. I couldn’t ask for more.
Another wonderful Max story. This one however has many twists and turns. There are millions of homeless mice, affairs, divorces and yes, Murder! Nic Saint and his wonderful imagination (or is it?) Wins my tick of delight. And of course Max and his "amazing big brain" to win the day.
Where to start??? Where to start??? The mice turn out fine!!! All the lovers turn out fine!!! Barry Spence tell the truth. AND the drug dealers get what is owed them - never cross a group of mice!!! I enjoyed this story and recommended to book.
Max andOdelia are tasked by the mayor to help relocate an extra large family of mice. They locate a place and transfer the mice find drug smugglers and a murderer too.
Too many mice.I like the love stories I feel bad for the guy who lost his family. He seems like a nice guy but now he'll be I jail. Love the ending... 😃
The story has more mayhem than murder. The characters are fantastic and quirky. The plot is twisty and interesting. The world building is good. The humor is great.
So this book brought in talking mice to deal with the talking cats. Also drug dealers trying to get going in Hampton Cove. And of course Max figured out the case, but not really a murder in this instance.
