Match Me Up #1

You and Me, Baby

Rate this book
The last thing I need is to fall in love. Especially with him…

My twin sister has other plans.

She works for a hot new dating agency that’s all the buzz.

And I made a pact with her. If we were still unmarried at thirty, we’d put ourselves out there fully.

Well, the time has come. And my sister isn’t letting up.

Now I have to start “dating in the dark,” whatever that means.

The rules are strict but simple.

No real names.

No seeing each other for the first few dates.

No exchanging personal info.

Straightforward but never easy.

Plus, I don’t have time for relationship drama. I have a hot, overbearing businessman breathing down my neck to buy my company.

He’s easy to forget about when I start dating Mr. Perfect. My new “sight unseen” date is the stuff dreams are made out of.

Until I realize that business guy and the new love of my life aren’t two people.

It’s the same guy—the one I love to hate and love to love.

Maybe it’s better to be single forever.

Or maybe it’s you and me, baby. Forever.

What a twist on enemies to lovers AND new way to blind date..five dates in the total dark with fake names used. Not know their perfect match till fifth date. Both strong determined people who know their down minds and their desires. She’s got a struggling art business and he’s been hired to close the deal. His friend needs her property to tear down the small businesses to put on big businesses. Interesting what happens when no real names or ability to see just talk. *I was given a copy and am voluntarily giving my honest review.

My initial thoughts were that Danny and Grace were like chalk and cheese and there was no way they could they end up together.
Such a ruthless CEO with not only his staff he was the complete opposite of Grace.
The story was fun to read especially the thought of blind dates being really blind giving a different outlook although I did wonder if they would have recognised each others voice!
There are some ups and downs along the way but with a helpful twin to explain what had happened ensured their happy ever after and rounded off the story well.

This book is about Grace and Danny or Sharp as he is called by. Grace owns a failing Arts centre. Danny is asked by his property developer friend to buy the centre so he can demolish it the make it into a car park. So Sharp thinks OK this will be easy. He walks into Grace's store like a bull in a China shop. She takes a instant dislike to him immediately. She tells him she's not willing to sell. He just stands there gets a notebook out, writes a price and says its only valid until he leaves her shop. She still says no and throws him out. Sharp has never come across such an infuriating women in his life.
Grace's twin sister Hope helps run a company called sight unseen dating, where couples get to meet in a well organised office which is pitch black for an hour as a date. Hope signs Grace up and a man is picked for her using the algorithms that the system finds a perfect match. They go on 5 blind dates and the last date it's the reveal.
When Grace goes on her first date she gets on so well with her man that she asks for another one.
Will they be a perfect match?
Grace and Sharps journey is a very bumpy one, full of steam, angst and chemistry.
Great book I had to read in one sitting so none of my housework got done!
Thanks Weston xx

Grace owns an unsuccessful art gallery and Danny Sharp is CEO of Sharp Acquisitions, a company that buys up struggling businesses and either makes then profitable or sells them off. His persona is no nonsense when it comes to business as feelings can't get involved in buyouts.
Personally Danny feels he's missing out as he wants a family and hasn't had time to find the right woman, so he signs up with a dating program called "Sight Unseen". They match you up and you are put in the same room but you can't see them or touch them, can only talk to them, for the first 4 dates. If you make it to the 5th date you will see them. Oh yes, u also use fake names.
Graces twin sister Hope works for Sight Unseen and has been trying to get her to put her app in forever. They are now turning 30 and had promised if they weren't in a relationship by thirty they would promise to go out there so Hope filled out the app for Grace and submitted it. Of course Danny and Grace are matched.
I'm not going to tell you what happens, but there are a few twists and turns Ala Weston Parker fame.
I really enjoyed reading this book. I didn't put it down until I finished it.

Enemies to lovers but… not?

What an interesting concept for a dating service. Like Love is Blind… but better!

The twists and turns Sharp and Grace got themselves in were a complete rollercoaster. Seeing them fall in love completely unbeknownst to being bitter rivals in the light of day was a welcome change to the traditional feel of a romance book.

Hope and Marcus adding levity to their relationship on both sides. Can one hope they’re next in the Sight Unseen train?

And Adam! What a great vilain (kinda) for this story. Man did I want to reach through the book and slap the bitch.

But all worked out in the end how it was meant to be!

As I look through the reviews, I see that I'm in the minority with my rating. I just couldn't connect to the characters. At times, both Danny & Grace acted like a teenagers.

The concept of this book is what made me download it. I liked the idea of how they met.

What I didn't like is their interactions before they met. I also couldn't get past the fact that they talked for so long on the dates & didn't recognize each other's voices.

The book was well written, and not being able to connect to the characters & story is more of a me thing than the author.

If you're looking for a new (well at least to me) twist on finding love from a dating site, then you might enjoy this one.

So good

Imagine a hot jerk shows up and tries to get you to sell your business by putting down and criticizing all your hard work. You hate his guts. At the same time, your sister sets you up on the dating site she works for and the algorithm picks the jerk as your perfect match. Now imagine that 4 dates are in complete darkness and you can't give any personal info. Heck. You can't even use your real name. He is perfect in the dark. So is she. In day light they hate each other. The reveal is on the 5th date. Imagine the devastating realization that the person you're falling hard for, is the same guy you wish didn't exist at all.

This storyline revolves around a dating agency that matches people together but they have to go on dates where they can’t see one another. This allows the couple to get to know one another based on who they are and not their looks.
Grace is 30 years old and her life revolves around her art studio which is really struggling. She also has a twin sister who happens to work for Sight Unseen. The sisters made a promise years ago that if they reached 30 and didn’t weren’t in a relationship that they would start to focus on finding their true love. So, Hope talks Grace into letting her put her information into the Sight Unseen dating agency to find her a match.
Sharp is a businessman who buys out failing businesses and turns them around. He always gets what he wants and he isn’t happy when a deal doesn’t go as planned. When his friend Adam asks him to purchase Grace’s art studio as a favor he accepts because he thinks it’s an easy deal. Little does he know that Grace is no pushover. Sharp is also at the point where he is ready to settle down but most ladies only want him for his money so he decides to give Sight Unseen a shot at finding him a woman he can connect with.
What happens when the computer matches Sharp and Grace together? They didn’t hit it off well when he approaches her about buying her gallery and each time they meet they only tend to despise one another more but when they are alone in the dark they hit it off wonderfully the only catch is they are not using their real names.
Weston has outdone himself with this story. Oh, my goodness I absolutely loved this book. The main characters are great and you will love the banter between Sharp and Grace but you will be rooting for G and S to fall in love. I couldn’t stop reading this book once I started. Great job Weston.

Professionally, Danny Sharp, CEO of Sharp Acquisitions, is a ruthless businessman who buys and sells struggling companies. Personally he is a closet romantic who wants to find love and happiness, so he registers for Sight Unseen Dating Agency, hoping to find his forever wife. His college roommate requests help acquiring the last plot he needs to move forward with a huge development, and it happens to be an art center.

Grace owns an art center that is not doing as well as she had hoped. Fifteen years ago she and her twin sister Hope made a pact that if they were not married by the age of 30, they would put themselves out there, and so Hope, who works for Sight Unseen, is going to sign up Grace. The dating rules are strict - no seeing or touching until after the fifth date. Pseudonyms only. No release of personal information. Let the games begin!

So Grace, aka Winnie aka G, and Sharp aka Cole aka S, star in a comedy of errors and misunderstandings worthy of Shakespeare that could end up happily - or not. With his usual smart style and wicked imagination, Weston Parker offers readers another engaging novel that left me breathless to see what finally happens to the couple who begin their journey in darkness, both figuratively and metaphorically. Will they discover light in their darkest hour, or will HEA remain just out of reach? Will this be a beginning or an ending? Find a cozy spot, add your favorite beverage, and enjoy this treasure!

I received this book as an ARC reviewer and voluntarily leave my honest opinion.

Finding Love In the Dark

A great start for Weston Parker's new series with a twist and bringing a new meaning to blind date!! Danny Sharp is a cutthroat business man where he buys struggling businesses to restructure or sell off piece by piece. Lack of punctuality could cost thousands when another company could swoop in buy out from under him. He didn't hesitate to help out a friend in a particular struggling buy out of an art center to make way for a new development. What he didn't count on was meeting the frustrating owner. Grace has made her dream come true...sort of. She's put her sweat and tears into her art center and she's proud of that, but in her dreams she wasn't struggling to keep the doors open. When approached by the arrogant bully to purchase her business her claws come out. On top of everything her twin sister, Hope, signs her up for the new dating agency she works at... the catch is it all happens in the dark. No touching, no real names, it's just to get to know each other. The connection between G and S is the lifeboat they each need to get away from their hectic and troubling lives. What happens when they face the facts that they are indeed connected outside of their Sight Unseen dates?? The banter will keep you turning the pages on the edge of your seats to see what could possibly happen next. The characters are great with his/her POV, no cliffhanger, no cheating and a truly hard earned HEA. In hoping Grace's twin Hope will find her HEA in the near future. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book and excited for the next.

I always love it when I get a new Weston Parker series. And this story does not disappoint at all.

When a workaholic (Sharp) can't find romance on his own, he uses a new-fangle dating agency. Like a Blind Dating service - Sight Unseen makes you get to know your date without seeing them. What could possibly go wrong?

Well, a lot it seems. Especially when Sharp is matched with a strong-willed woman. Grace is a gallery owner who doesn't want to sell her gallery to anyone. She wants to make it as an owner, and this place is the best location for it. Sharp storms into her place demanding she sell to him. He's ruthless, rude, and extremely attractive. Three bad qualities for Grace.

When Grace and Sharp meet each other (blindly), they immediately like each other. Without all of that business problems in the way, they really enjoy each other's company. They aren't allowed to touch until the 5th date. And of course, they break that rule.

I love how each character finds out about the other. Grace handles it wrong. Sharp really handles it wrongly. But it's the way they figure out they were always meant for each other that makes this story so special.

You will love the steamy, dark sex scenes. They are off the charts hot. Great job Weston. This is a great start to a newe series!!!

As the first book in a new matchmaking series, YOU AND ME, BABY is an intriguing departure from the usual matchmaking books. Sight Unseen is a dating agency with matches meeting in the dark until five dates have passed.

Grace and her sister had one of those pacts that they would put themselves out there for love by the time they reached 30. When Grace was still single and focused on her career, Hope convinced her to try Sight Unseen, the company she worked for, and she was matched with Sharp.

Now, this was one of those page turners that will have you shaking your head at times thinking “you did NOT just do that” about something one of the characters did. Between the “what were you thinking” and “how are they going to get out of this” is a whole lot of story not only about the dating agency, but also about the livelihoods Sharp and Grace were so devoted to. I liked the whole matchmaking concept, the romance and the steam, but I also liked the uncertainty created by the conflict in the story.

This is a good start to what should be an interesting series. I am writing this voluntary review after reading an advance copy of the book.

Great start to this series

I have read many books books by Weston Parker, but I have to say, I think this book is by far my favorite out of all of the ones I’ve read.

This is book one of his new series, told in dual first person POV and leave you with a HEA. This may be the first book, but each book following this series can be read as a standalone.

I LOVED Grace and Sharp! Their enemies-to-lovers romance was so fun to read! I could honestly picture these two in front of me instead of just reading about them. I growled in frustration. I laughed out loud. I was jumping with joy. I was on the edge of my seat with excitement and suspense. The tension between them could be felt. The angst and chemistry between them was perfect.

I loved the “Love is Blind” vibe. I loved the process and their emotions and reactions inside and outside of their “Unseen” dates. The side characters helped make the story even better. And I cannot wait to see other characters experience and overcome the “Sight Unseen” dating program.

I received an advanced readers copy via BookFunnel. These thoughts and opinions are my own and left voluntarily.

What a great start to this series!

Danny Sharp buys failing businesses and get them up to make a profit or sells them off in pieces. Grace owns an art gallery that’s falling apart, but it’s also failing. On top of that, a development company is buying up all the businesses around her. Sharp is called in by his friend from the development company to help him convince Grace to sell. Yes, they are attracted to one another, even though Grace thinks he’s arrogant, which he is, in business. Grace reacts with arrogance of her own. And on top of that, Sharp signed up with a dating app, but Grace’s twin sister also signed her up for it, too, who also works there. It’s a unique app because when you meet there is total darkness on your date. Thus, the name of the app; Sight Unseen. You use fake names, also. On the fifth date, they can see one another. Oh my. This story is a unique and an original one. They match up perfectly. This is a story you won’t be able to put down. I loved every bit of it!

I received a free copy of the steamy novel You and Me, Baby: A Match Me Up Novel by Weston Parker, and this review was given freely.
I think this is Weston Parker’s best novel yet. Easy flowing with an unexpected twist or two, this story contains a fifteen-year-old pact realized plus steamy intimate scenes that enhance the story while leaving some things to the imagination. There is a fair amount of conflict but the ending is happy.
Thirty-five-year-old ruthless and tyrannical CEO of Sharp Acquisitions in Seattle, Danny Sharp is known for his ability to close deals until his impatience and brisk self-serving personality offend the struggling owner of Artfully Yours art gallery, Grace, who happens to be his match for the 5 dates double blind dating service, Sight Unseen. Sparks fly and tempers become short as their dating-in-the-dark personalities hit it off while their everyday business personas clash.

I had so much fun with this book. It’s not your run-of-the-mill matchmaker story and not even a typical blind date one. It seems to exist kind of at the intersection of the two, and that’s a lot of what makes it so unique. I fully admit it, I was a little worried for while with this book, because there was a period of time that I kind of didn’t like our heroine. At all. She made some choices that I questioned and that ended up putting her Happy Ever After in extreme danger of not happening. However, the author is a master of the craft and was able to bring Grace and Sharp back to the negotiating table, if you will. Where I was wishing for them to get the Forever they needed. Now that we’ve met some of their friends and family, and experienced the awesomeness that is Sight Unseen, I can’t wait to find out what’s going to happen next in this series.
I received a complimentary advance copy of this book from the author.

This is a fun start to a new series by Weston Parker. Here we have Grace and Sharp who have met under less-than-ideal circumstances. He's come into her gallery like a bull in a china shop and she takes an immediate dislike to him. So, where's the problem? Well, they "meet" through a dating site where they go on dates where they can't see each other. Literally in the dark or with a blindfold on. All they can do is talk and get to know one another. There's an immediate connection and they're both taken with each other. What could possibly go wrong? Date 5 is when things can possibly go wrong as they get to "see" each other for the first time. Will truths ruin everything or do they have a chance at HEA? An exciting start to this series.

This is a new one on a "blind date idea." Sight Unseen is a dating agency where you don't actually see the person you are dating until the 5th date. Great idea because then you will be matched with someone who likes who you are and not what you look like... right? Well for these two, it gets more complicated since they know each other outside of the dating agency. Danny is a tough businessman who, as a favor to a friend, goes to Grace to get her to sell to a developer. Grace has a struggling Art Gallery. Outside of Sight Unseen they really don't like each other. However, on their dates they have a great time and start falling in love. Oh the fireworks when they figure out who the other is. Great book.

Hes Still A Toxic Business Man At The End

So she has to bow to him.

Fuck off.

He walked away in front of everyone.

Romantic?

Shes a fucking doormat.

Patriarchial Parable.

He deserts when it matters and makes his problems, everyones issues.

Same asshole at the start and everyone has a reason for being an asshole. So what? Its only an exuse when he gets to control everything.

Imagine she romanced herself into expecting more than words on a date.

Abandoned her when it mattered. Holly the flying monkey.

Omg this is like those toxic trash tv shows and now, her eyes arent blue, Grace "looks" like Megan Fox in my head now.

If you know, you know.

Cant imagine having such an affluent life that bad boys having nuance and not growth, is enough for you.

Cute, quirky and surprisingly original!

Weston wrote a fun little story about a blind dating agency with an original twist…dating in the dark. Yep…didn’t “see” that one coming 😂

No spoilers from me, sorry scroll to the next reviewer if you’re looking for those. I will tell you Weston’s characters were well written. Grace was a strong, sassy beautiful gallery owner and gave as good as she got. And Sharp…yeah…he was swoony (even when he was in CEO dick mode.)

I received an ARC of this (thanks Weston) and am voluntarily leaving my review.

Definitely worth reading. I finished it in one night.

Weston has done it again with You and Me, Baby. I adore this book, and didn’t want to put it down. I’m already looking forward to the next installment in the Sight Unseen series.

Sharp and Grace meet when Sharp is sent to purchase her failing art gallery for a developer friend of his. The two do not get off to a great start and are like oil and water. Little do they know, they are about to be matched by a new dating service where you date literally in the dark. They connect on another level while on their dates when they don’t recognize the other’s voice, but continue to clash in person. This book has just the right amount of angst, while still promising a perfect HEA.

This is a brilliant start to a new series.
Grace and Daniel are on opposite sides of business. She has a failing art centre while he buys up failing businesses and either turns them around or sells them for profit.
She really doesn't like him when he comes into her centre to take her business at a low cost. The feeling is mutual for him too.
At the same time both have signed up for a dating service called Sight Unseen, where the first 5 dates are in the dark and no personal information.
They are hooked from the get go but what happens when they find out who the other is.
Will they get their HEA or will it tear them apart.

overall okay

I’ve read multiple books same type of story line dating app and falling for someone in their life already that they wouldn’t look twice at otherwise because the other persons a jerk in their everyday life. Anywho I knew what I was getting into with this book. The writing was good, the characters were good and well developed however, I felt like there was a lot of filler material. Irrelevant information that you didn’t need to understand the book. I skipped a lot of dialog, and I did not get lost in the book by doing so. It was an okay read, like I said the writing style was good, the characters were good, just long winded.

Grace runs an art gallery that is falling apart and failing. When he and Grace meet it is not a good one and add to it that they sign up for a dating app and meet again but neither knows who the other is. Imagine their surprise when they come face to face again! This delightful story kept me glued to the pages to see how Danny and Grace's relationship turns out. It is a charming story has a wonderful story line with characters that I loved reading and connecting with am volunteering to leave a review for an ARC of this book.

Thoroughly enjoyed this. Fun and modern. Grace’s twin sister encourages her to make good on a promise to look for love and signs her up to the a dating agency she works with. An agency with a twist where you have several dates in the dark before you ever see what your date looks like. Her instant connection with her date is a welcome distraction from her ailing business and her battle with Sharp, the man who wants to buy her out. Lots of good banter between them with some steamy scenes together with a dose of drama.

A touching, tender love story. Conflicting feelings and a leap of faith are what this book is all about. It is so true that love sees not with the eyes, but with the heart. Sight Unseen requires dating in the dark and seeing only with the heart, which leads to romance on the one hand, but serious conflicts on the other. After a disastrous business relationship, Grace and Sharp realize they need to be together. Which they can only do by accepting what they each see with their eyes and their hearts.

This is a well written book with strong characters in Sharp and Grace. The author brings a Jekyl & Hyde type storyline. In the daylight and business world they can't stand to be around one another. But through Sight Unseen, a match up service, in the dark, they fall in love with sparks flying between them. What happens when the truth is discovered? I loved reading their story and would recommend this book.

Danny Sharp is CEO Of Sharp Acquisition and is asked by his friend for help with an art gallery that is in trouble but what he didn't expect is to meet a feisty Grace who doesn't take anyone bullying her. Grace and her sister made a pack for when they turned 30 but with dating agency that is done in the dark but will feelings between her and mystery man change when their actually seeing each other for the first time? This is a new series about Sight unseen about a dating agency where you get to meet your match only after the 5th date. Danny Sharp is a businessman who buys and sell struggling companies. He comes face to face with feisty, sassy Grace who owns a struggling art gallery that Danny's friend is trying to acquire. Danny is ruthless but he also a closet romantic and he signs up with Sight Unseen and unbeknown to him he is matched with Grace who had made a promise to her sister that if they are not married before age 30, they will sign up with a dating agency. Their journey to finding the one is not easy, but can they make it work once they know who their perfect match is? Entertaining, funny and
adds a different spin to matching making. Another winner for Weston!
