Star-Crossed #1-2

The Star-crossed Series

Rate this book
He’s a criminal—an abomination. We’re wrong in every way.
If only I could’ve convinced my heart.
His lips whispered promises of all the stars in the sky.
I dreamt of a love that would last forever.

We were gorgeously young and desperate for one another.
But we're star-crossed.
Fate had decided our course.
Leaving us to cling to each other as we crumbled to ash.

His need became possession.
My innocence turned jaded.
Our families declared war.
All that remained was hate.

But Calder was raised by wolves. The rules didn’t apply.
I was his until he said otherwise—for better or for worse.

Our love story is bathed in crimson and drenched in bullets.
Because sometimes, Romeo comes with tattoos, guns, and a taste for blood.

This completed series is a contemporary reimagining of Romeo and Juliet with a happily ever after.

Before I became a romance author, I was a professional dancer. These days, I emotionally choreograph people’s lives instead...on paper.

Most days you’ll find me writing spicy love stories, creating playlists I absolutely don’t need, and convincing myself that staying up until 2 AM to finish a book is a perfectly reasonable life choice.

My big, loud, rambunctious Italian family has also provided plenty of inspiration over the years. In fact, I may or may not have stolen a few names for my Mafia heroes.

Allegedly.

These days, I’m a #1 Amazon and USA Today bestselling author, but the truth is, I didn’t set out to become “the romance author.”

I just loved stories.

The kind that make you laugh unexpectedly. The kind that punch you right in the feelings. The kind that leave you staring at the ceiling at 1 AM thinking about fictional people like they’re real.

And somewhere along the way, I decided I wanted to create those stories too.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5 & 🌶🌶🌶 / 5

I am just a sleep deprived girl sitting in front of her computer trying to form coherent thoughts about this book series that WRECKED ME. And by wrecked me, I mean that I was broken in the most amazingly beautiful way. How…HOW? How do I move forward? How do I even write this review?

So, I will keep this review as spoiler free as possible. I basically didn’t stop reading until I was sobbing at 4:30AM after DEVOURING this book.

This is one of the best modern day Romeo and Juliet retelling I have read. I mean, I am comparing it to and ranking it up there with Baz Luhrmann’s remake with Leo and Claire. Like I just CANNOT stop thinking about this series. These books aren’t just meant to be read but seriously experienced.

Book 1/ Part 1, Just Like Heaven, was all consuming. From the very beginning you are pulled in and caught up in an intoxicating rush of passion as Sutton and Calder connect. Instantly drawn to each other, neither can deny the pull the other has over them. Both Calder and Sutton know they should stay away from the other, as their worlds will never align, but in true star-crossed lover fashion that isn’t how it works. The tension as these two orbit each other is thick as thieves, and when the damn breaks….boy does it break.

Don’t think you will be able to stop between parts…no you will NEED to start it right away. Since we are calling Book 1/Part 1 an all consuming rush of passion, we can only be fair and call book 2, Sinning Like Hell, an onslaught of angst. To say that Romeo and Juliet went through trial and tribulations is almost laughable compared to what Sutton and Calder endure. The character growth and development is mind blowing. Trilina redefined sacrifice for me.

This book hurt but the ending is so worth the walk through hell

Where’s the option for more than 5 stars??? 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟Gah, I love these book so damn much.

I read these books last year and haven’t stopping thinking about them since! It is the best duet I’ve read in 2022, actually scratch that, it is the best duet I have ever read. Calder and Sutton are what romance readers dreams are made of. This story has everything from amazing chemistry to phenomenal plot, and most of all EPIC love!!! Once in lifetime, all consuming, obsessive type of love. I highlighted half of these books because everything that man says is pure gold ..

“How am I going to exist without you?
“You don’t. There is no f**** difference between where I begin and you end. Not now, not ever.”

"Two people damned by our families, doomed to end tragically, unable to walk away." - Sutton

I first read this duet when it was released a few years ago, and like the first time, it gave me all the feels. I listened to the audiobook; the narrators portrayed Sutton and Calder amazingly! I fell in love with Sutton and Calder all over again—it felt bittersweet finish their story. The Star-Crossed duet/series is read that I will reread many times.

Just Like Heaven, book 1 review:
https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...

“We’re alike, Sutton—bound to our names. Held down by our obligations. Robbed of love. Until we found each other. That’s why we’re so connected, because I am you, and you are me.” - Calder

Sinning Like Hell, book 2 review:
https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...

“You’re always mine, baby. Even in goodbye.” Her breath hitches as her hands shake. F*ck. “You’re my home, Sutton,” I whisper, slowly pulling back. I put my hands over hers and look into her eyes. “And I’ll always come back. But we can’t have magic and forever until I make the rules. Until I’m king.” - Calder

What to expect:

READ THIS DUET!!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

It’s been a long time since a story made me cry cry cry, but in the best way!

Trilina wrote this amazing duet and I wish everyone could/would read it.

Calder is the number one book boyfriend. He and Sutton are soulmates fo sho.

I flailed at Trilina so much in her DMs on IG while reading these she was probably sick of me. I just love C&S so much!

Romeo and Juliet vibes, but more badass and with an eventual HEA.

Calder has the best “touch her and you die” vibes, and we actually get to “see” his follow through on the page, not just “I took care of it.”

It’s plot heavy, not spice heavy - but the spice is *chef’s kiss* perfection! 🥵

I don’t like the way this book started. Very insta lust/ love situation followed by cringy dialogues and cringier scenes. But having said that if I read og Romeo and Juliet, today I’d find it pretty corny so I don’t hold it against this book.
But after 30% this starts getting violent/ emotional. It has some pretty painful moments and characters you physically want to hurt. It has nice ending tho so that’s a plus.

𝐓𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐢𝐬 𝐬𝐮𝐜𝐡 𝐚 𝐟𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐡 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐛𝐞𝐚𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐟𝐮𝐥𝐥𝐲 𝐞𝐱𝐞𝐜𝐮𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐦𝐨𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐧 𝐫𝐞𝐭𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐨𝐟 𝐑𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐨 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐉𝐮𝐥𝐢𝐞𝐭.
It gave me all the 𝐛𝐮𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐟𝐥𝐢𝐞𝐬 of first love. The first experiences for both main characters are so vividly communicated in this 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐭𝐲, 𝐬𝐧𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐲 and 𝐞𝐱𝐜𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 story.
The 𝐯𝐢𝐛𝐞 of this 𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐪𝐮𝐞 story is 𝐝𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐨𝐮𝐬, I soaked in the authors 𝐜𝐥𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫, 𝐛𝐞𝐚𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐟𝐮𝐥 words.
I love the way humor, emotions and the grittier aspects are so balanced and they blend so seamlessly.
Calder is my favorite book boyfriend!
Calder is the son of a mafia underboss who involves his three sons in his business dealings.
Sutton is the daughter of a Senator determined to clear out the criminals. Her parents use her as a prop, to be seen as the perfect family.
The two father’s are enemies obviously, with Sutton’s father determined to run Calder’s father out of town.
This couple are classic star-crossed lovers!
Calder is a dangerous alpha 𝐚𝐧𝐝 he is so caring and protective.
Both with Sutton and with his two brothers.
Did I mention he writes in a journal? He’s quite 𝐩𝐨𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐜 guy and a deep thinker.
Swoon! I freaking adore him. Talk about a dreamy guy.
Sutton is fairly 𝐢𝐧𝐧𝐨𝐜𝐞𝐧𝐭, she’s kind, 𝐟𝐮𝐧, 𝐜𝐥𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫 and also open minded.
She’s not a dull kind of sweet. She has strength and a lot of love to give.
She has two bada*s besties who are an amazing addition to the story. They are 𝐬𝐧𝐚𝐫𝐤𝐲, 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐭𝐲, 𝐫𝐞𝐛𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐨𝐮𝐬 and they bring the 𝐟𝐮𝐧. They are also true blue, supportive friends.
Sutton’s sexual innocence is written really well in my opinion. A lot of times I’m not a fan of virginal heroine’s because it just doesn’t read as virginal. The author does a great job of showing Sutton’s inexperience 𝐀𝐍𝐃 also her openness to sexual things. It’s a nice combination that worked really well for me in this story.
Calder and Sutton together are 𝐦𝐚𝐠𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥, they are immediately connected as if they are one heart and mind.
Their bond is described and shown in amazing ways that made my heart flutter. I was constantly swooning, I fully understand the true feeling of swooning now.
Together they are #relationshipdreams
Their chemistry and sexy times are beyond great, they are so incredibly 𝐇𝐎𝐓 together and there is also the excitement of 𝐟𝐢𝐫𝐬𝐭 𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐞𝐬 and first 𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐥 𝐟𝐞𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬 of love.
It’s a special kind of hot and steamy.
All that 𝐟𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐡 𝐬𝐰𝐞𝐞𝐭𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬 mixed with naughty is 𝐝𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐨𝐮𝐬!
The story is a page turner, it’s super romantic, it’s exciting, completely entertaining with moments that made me feel incredible anger for Sutton and Calder. The mistreatment and use of them is a shared connection between them. It’s so heart wrenching in many instances.
The 𝐬𝐮𝐫𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐞𝐬 and 𝐭𝐰𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐬 are fantastic! I love cases like this when when I don’t see the plot twist coming. I loved every bit of it.
I highlighted so many beautiful quotes, I won’t share any because it’s out of context and could be a spoiler.
The end has a lot happening fast.
I was anxious and on the edge of my seat. It’s obviously a BIG cliffhanger.
This book is a 𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐟𝐚𝐯𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐞!
I highly recommend this book to any romance reader.

This is an 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐬𝐞𝐥𝐲 𝐞𝐦𝐨𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 conclusion to this 𝐛𝐞𝐚𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐟𝐮𝐥𝐥𝐲 written saga about 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐫 𝐜𝐫𝐨𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐝 𝐥𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬.
The prologue effectively pulled me immediately in, it is so 𝐡𝐚𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 and teases of the magnitude of what is to come.
I can’t say much without spoilers, I can say this duet is on my best of all time list.
The 𝐦𝐨𝐨𝐝/𝐯𝐢𝐛𝐞 of this book is different from the first book in the duet-𝙹𝚞𝚜𝚝 𝙻𝚒𝚔𝚎 𝙷𝚎𝚊𝚟𝚎𝚗.
It is more 𝐦𝐞𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐜, it is much 𝐠𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐫. There are debts to be paid and the price is high.
It made me feel 𝐛𝐢𝐠 𝐞𝐦𝐨𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 right along with the characters, I was brought into their mood and feelings.
This book took me on an 𝐢𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐞𝐝 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐣𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐧𝐞𝐲.
There is longing, passion and so much love.
𝐈 𝐥𝐨𝐬𝐭, 𝐈 𝐥𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐝, 𝐈 𝐟𝐞𝐥𝐭 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐟𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝 𝐟𝐞𝐚𝐫 𝐀𝐍𝐃 𝐈 𝐟𝐞𝐥𝐭 𝐡𝐨𝐩𝐞𝐟𝐮𝐥 for these amazing characters.
It’s such a 𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐲 and 𝐝𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐦𝐲 combination.
There’s so much to this story, so many characters and moving parts.
𝐁𝐞𝐚𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐟𝐮𝐥 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐠𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐭𝐲 is my favorite combination.

Tropes: romeo & juliet reimagining / insta-love / rival families / rich girl & boy from wrong side of the track / mutual pining / opposites attract / forbidden love / mafia vibes / touch her & die

I've had this duet on my TBR for ages and I really enjoyed it!

It follows Sutton and Calder. The good girl daughter of the town's Mayor, and the badboy, son of the Irish mob from the wrong side of the tracks. Just like Romeo & Juliet, their love is doomed from the start, neither should’ve crossed paths, but when they do - no one else matters.

Objectively, this book is so excellent! The writing is wonderful. The spice is HOT. That confessional and holy water scene? 🥵🥵🥵. I really loved the story and the concept. Calder is also a perfect baddie book boyfriend and I loved that Sutton had a spine!

Now, as for the things I enjoyed less, which are ALL subjective, as an FYI. The instalove aspect. It's hard for me to connect with the characters and their "love" in this situation. Because, how can you really love someone you don't even know? At least, that's what my brain thinks while reading this trope. I do, however, totally understand its necessity for the story (ahem, Romeo & Juliet reimagining), but for me, personally, it meant I just couldn't vibe with their love nor really believe it (especially given their age - they start off at around 18).

My other issue was the fact that I thought there were some missed opportunities. We were told about key scenes through dialogue, but we didn't get to see them in real time, nor in a flashback. And while I loved Sutton's strength, I felt that her entire personality was Calder, so when they were apart - I hoped she could contribute to the story in other ways. Finally, I thought it was a smidge too long given that the characters spent 85% of book 2 apart. But again, all subjective!

I still had a grand time reading this!! I was so invested and that final chapter was one of the best endings to a book that I've ever read. Period!!

It was reminiscent of Leo Dicaprio's Romeo & Juliet and West Side Story, and I highly recommend!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️| 🔥🔥🔥🔥

“We’re alike, Sutton—bound to our names. Held down by our obligations. Robbed of love. Until we found each other. That’s why we’re so connected, because I am you, and you are me.”

Oh. My. God. I don’t think I’ll ever recover from the carnival scene - ever. My heart broke into so many pieces, and I’ll never be the same. Trilina wrote Calder too fucking well, because I swear I could hear this man’s voice every time he said “Baby”.

Romeo and Juliet have NOTHING on Calder and Sutton. Shakespeare wishes he wrote them the way Trilina did. I’m so upset, like so upset right now. I just wanted them to be happy, even though I knew exactly where it was going. I still had trust that a happy ending was in store. I can NOT.

Fuck Hunter. I wish that he was thrown of the highest cliff ever. I can’t believe it, I just - he deserved it. And that’s it, off to read Sinning Like Hell.

Sinning Like Hell
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️| 🔥🔥🔥🔥

“Whatever they break, baby, I’ll spend our lifetime putting back together.”

What an emotional rollercoaster this was! An absolute nerve-wrecking, anxiety-filled ride. For the last 80 pages my chest was tight with anxiety, I was literally shaking by the end of this. Trilina bestie knew exactly what to do to make your heart hurt one second, but then make you feel like you’re flying in the next.

Calder and Sutton are two halves of a whole, and were always meant to be. Nothing was gonna kept them apart, not even death. Y’all, believe me when I say - we ALL need a Calder in our lives. Just trust me on this. I said it with book one, but Cunter is the absolute worst person ever, and his mom sucks too. But Sutton’s parents, her MOM - oh she deserves multiple life sentences in hell.

Shakespeare has NOTHING on Trilina Pucci. Y’all need to read this duet already, because - ugh, I’m obsessed.

Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Genre: Mafia
Spice: Yes 🥵
Series: Series combines book 1 Just Like Heaven, and book 2, Sinning Like Hell

Thoughts - firstly I think you should go into this wanting to read the series because if you want to just read book 1 and then have a break or whatever then your missing out BECAUSE all of the emotions happen. ALL. OF. THEM! It started as a bit of a slow burn for me and then suddenly there’s murder, drama, suspense, spice. The banter was great between Calder and Sutton as well as the storyline ending up over a number of years so you really get a sense of it playing out. Also the final few pages, um could they be anymore sad and sweet at the same time as well as just giving a sense of completeness to their story. Special mention to Hunters character evolution, you don’t appreciate how far he will fall from the start so it was great to have the depth of hate match the storyline. Definitely recommended read if you’re looking for a mafia trope about soulmates and a MMC who will watch the world burn for his woman.

Plot - Sutton is the perfect daughter to her perfect parents. Well that’s the image being portrayed because of her fathers political career. However theres some new guys in town, and one of them she definitely needs to stay away from. Except when ever they cross paths she can feel him penetrating her soul. She comes alive when he’s close as if she’s found her other half. It’s a love that will never be though because she’s a senators daughter and he’s the son of the local mafia don.

* ⚠️Trigger warnings
* Soulmates
* Romeo and Juliet vibes
* Touch her and die vibes
* Praise kink
* Destiny

“Aw fuck, baby. My good girl’s bad. Real fucking bad.”

“I swear to God, if anyone ever fucking touches you, I’ll kill them”

“Look at me. I wanna watch you come.”

Calder and Sutton... the conclusion that Romeo and Juliet truly deserved... but, "better"

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
🌶🌶🌶.5

As a millennial who was absolutely OBSESSED with Claire Danes and Leonardo DiCaprio's rendition of Romeo and Juliet from the '90s.... this was the ending I always wished for. It was also the intimacy I always missed from the original and the remakes . I felt as though at last we were getting the full story of Romeo and juliet, as told through Calder our MMC and Sutton are FMC... Truly sharing the beauty and intimacy of their relationship with us. However, don't assume their journey wasn't completely tragic, traumatic, at times disturbing, and off the charts angsty. Equal parts are heartbreakingly beautiful and just plain heartbreaking. It's a story of a love that defies logic.. questions reality. A love so complete it defies moral standards. And it's absolutely irrevocably breathtaking. The story was completely dramatic and over the top.. which is exactly what you would expect from a Shakespearean rendition. I know I'm late in reading this book.. but I do hope that one day the author will write, Roman, the mmc's brother and right hand man's story. As well as a book for Aubrey and Piper, the fmc's best friends. For their unquestionable and total loyalty, they deserve their story.
Although the story was full of Wrath and woe... it was the absolutely beautiful moments that kept us hopeful for a future with Calder and Sutton. This book was a roller coaster of emotions. I laughed, I cried, I screamed and threw the book across the room. It'll take your emotions through the wringer. It's worth every bit of it.

Side note: I especially loved their Princess Bride reference, addressing each other as Wesley and Buttercup... swooning!

“I swear to God, if anyone ever fucking touches you, I’ll kill them. Do you understand that? That’s how fucking deep I love you. You are always and forever fucking mine.”

Holy crap this book blew my mind! Literally AMAZING! Like keep you on the edge of your seat and hooked from page one!

These characters will make you love them! You’ll fall for Calder’s ruthlessness and how he’s rough but also soft! And you’ll also love how Sutton’s naive but also fierce!

This whole story is an emotional whirlwind! Your heart and emotions will be taken hostage by these characters. But that’s all ok because their story is FANTASTIC!

You’ll love this book if you enjoy…

-Lies
-Twists and Turns
-Suspense
-Angst
-Steam

Also on a side note this quote was giving me Stephen Salvatore Vibes for some reason! I don’t know why but it just did! 😂

But that being said this book was amazing and I definitely recommend reading! Now on to start book 2!

Everything about Calder and Sutton’s love story is a direct attack on your heart. It will tear it a part and then slowly and magically sew it back together. You can’t help but fall madly and deeply in love with this remarkable, masterful and heart-gripping romance.
I have read thousands of romance books and I have to say that Calder and Sutton’s story will be a forever favourite.
The intensity and the forceful impact their love story had on me is unforgettable and infinitely memorable.
Trilina Pucci created a love story that is deeply powerful and characters that will forever be tattooed on our hearts.

I had the most incredible experience listening to the audiobook last week. Angelina Rocca and Connor Crais’s performances were out of this world OUTSTANDING.
This is an AWARD WINNING performance. They brought Calder and Sutton’s story and voices to life in the most soul touching way. Every FREAKING moment of this audiobook had me in a chokehold, captivated and emotional. There is no other word but PERFECTION to descible it.

So if you want to lose yourself in the most HEART STOPPING romance of all time, Calder and Sutton’s story will give all those heart palpitating moments you crave for, make your heart bleed for these starcrossed lovers and then deliver you into the most BREATHTAKING HEA you could ever imagine or wished for.

“It’s like being shown the sun and then imprisoned in darkness. Our fathers are enemies. Our lives are predestined—doomed from the start.”

A spicy retelling of Romeo and Juliet!? HELL. YES. 😮‍💨🔥 guys this series was so good! Sutton and Calder’s family’s are enemies. Sutton is the daughter of a senator and Calder is the son of the head of the local Irish mafia. They are supposed to stay far away from one another, but their love is more powerful than their family’s hate.

““We’re alike, Sutton—bound to our names. Held down by our obligations. Robbed of love. Until we found each other. That’s why we’re so connected, because I am you, and you are me.””

Their story was an emotional rollercoaster. I love them SO MUCH. 🥹 they are the definition of soulmates 🖤 omg the way that Calder could go from saying something so sweet, to something so filthy it made me blush made me love him even more 🫠 a ✨certain scene✨ when he said, “now I’m baptized in you” altered my brain chemistry in the best way possible. I’ll never look at confessionals the same way again 🥵🥵🥵

“Soul mate would be the easy word, but what I feel is deeper. I recognize my soul in her. Like it’s split between us, and we’re only whole when we’re together.”

They go through so much together (and apart). Their love is truly one that defies all obstacles. I loved them, I loved this series and I love Trilina’s writing. 🖤

Just Like Heaven:
Whew. I think Trilina Pucci has mastered a classic retelling in this gripping, fast-paced, EMOTIONAL, insta-love story. And it all works so damn well. Sutton and Calder are fire and feeling from the start. And you know what I absolutely love? Calder is a possessive alpha to the nth degree and he's growly with everyone EXCEPT Sutton. He is a gooey puddle of beautiful poetry for her and I cheesed out in an incredible way for it.

Just Like Heaven is the type of story that keeps you hooked in for the whole ride. It has delicious levels of spice and heartache, and the anxiety is REAL over what might happen. The characters and intriguing subplots that we don't quite fully understand yet are exciting and yes, I can't wait to see what happens!

Honestly, Pucci made this classic so very distinct with her amazing storytelling. I'm all in. 5++ fated stars for JLH!

Sinning Like Hell:
Look up 'Epic Love Story' on Google and this duet should be search result #1. Sinning Like Hell is a fantastic conclusion to Calder and Sutton's years spanning love story and it is full of heartbreak, tragedy, longing, violence, love, and fated twists. And DAMNIT if I didn't cry at that ending! Seriously, this duet is one enthralling adventure. Trilina has brought IT! 5+ destined stars for this beautifully written retelling.

This duet is just straight up incredible and if you haven't read it, you absolutely MUST!!

JUST LIKE HEAVEN: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
I just don't feel like I have the words, and you know what? I wouldn't want to give them to you anyway simply because nothing, NOTHING, I can say will adequately prepare you for the incredible journey that Sutton and Calder are going to take you on. I will warn you though that your emotions have a real gauntlet to face, and it is a pure trial by fire. This book/series truly defies description. Sure, it has a very Romeo and Juliet feel to it and features a bad-boy and a good girl couple, but it is so, so much more! All I can say is if you like dark, twisted, disturbing, sweet, angsty, heartbreaking, hot and super swoon, grab this book and dive in. Just be sure to take a deep breath first because it will be the last one you get for a long time.

SINNING LIKE HELL: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
This book, this series broke my heart and left me a swooning, sobbing wreck. Sutton and Calder were sweet fire, brutal agony and pure magic. I loved these two so much. You know, some books you enjoy, but this romance invaded my mind, captured my heart and stole a piece of my soul.

This audiobook is narrated beautifully in a duet format. Both narrators give amazing performances which pull you right in and have you completely captivated and utterly consumed.

I. AM. SHOOK after listening to this advanced listener copy of the Star-Crossed Series, and I don't know that I'll ever come back from it! This was an AMAZING ALC! The narrators were perfection. There voice inflections evoked strong emotions and made the story and characters come to life. This was a unique and modern-day twist on Romeo and Juliet. The plot is filled with passion, angst, and twists and turns. It keeps you on the edge of your seat and guessing. The heartbreak will shred your heart, but it will be mended by the HEA in the end. Don't even get me started on the characters! Sutton and Calder were star-crossed lovers who were from opposite sides of the track, but they had more in common than they realized. Their love story is heartbreaking, tragic, twisted, and gut-wrenching. I couldn't help but admire their strength and tenacity at such a young age. Their love and this story is one for the ages!

I cannot recommend this book enough! It deserves ALL THE STARS!!! It took me on en emotional, yet amazing journey that I never wanted to end. I read the book and was swept off of my feet, but this ALC brought the story to life. This is not an easy love story, but it is worth every bump and bruise they got along the way.

Just Like Heaven

Just Like Heaven is a powerful story of star-crossed lovers, instant forever love and families at war. This story is so beautifully written, thought-provoking and gut-wrenching. That ending was like a knife to the heart. I loved everything about this book, these characters and this story! I just hope and pray this is going to be a duet. I need more!!!!

Sinning Like Hell

Sinning Like Hell is the beautifully written, gut-wrenchingly beautiful conclusion to this love story that transcends time and space. I devoured this book in one sitting, consuming the beautiful prose like air. Tears flowed down my face as I traveled along this dark and brutal journey with Calder and Sutton. This duet is magnificent, the best of 2021 if not ever. I can’t say enough about this excellent duet. I loved it and it deserves well more than five stars. Simply perfection!

Honestly, this book wrecked me. I couldn’t see through my tears for the last 8-ish pages and that is a VERY hard thing to do to me. So that is your warning. Have tissues.

However, if there was ever a HEA worth getting to - it is this one.

I think this was my first Trulina Pucci book/ duet that I have read and it most likely turned me into an addict. I absolutely love mafia books, even when they are predictable and cliche. This was not that at all. Trulina writes this mob book with probably more realism than any of them. Politics are intertwined and blackmail wielded in ways that I can see it actually being used to get to the goals of the family.

Calder and Sutton’s love story is one that is all power, passion, and Fate driven. It has many unhappy parts but those moments make that ending worth it.

One of the most amazing stories i read in a while i don't know why i don't see it enough on Instagram
I loved the fact that they soo openly express their love for each other in words it was a bit insta love but oh done soo amazingly they went through soo much to be together the story was soo well written the author packed soo much it wasn't overly long nor too short. I was scared that i won't be able to see much of the main couple when the revenge is over but thank goodness noo author gave me enough showed their growth till they were old and grey and had their happily ever after
I also loved that scene when its shown that he came back for hell for her and that scene where that fortune teller lady tells his brother that fate has changed omg that quote gave me goosebumps over all amazing read loved it

I had not heard anything about this book "The Star Crossed Series" by Trilina Pucci.

So I thought ..."hey, narrated by Conner Crais, so absolutely yes. Because....well...you know...Conner Crais. I was pleasantly surprised, as I am not big on retellings. I actually loved this book.

The longing and angst in this one had me tearing up in some places. Calder is definitly book boyfriend material. The narration was perfection. Did I mention the Conner Crais growl. 🔥🫦🔥🫦🔥🫦 I very much enjoyed it.

It's 3am and I'm crying which obviously means this author wrote a fucking masterpiece.

The modern day retelling of Romeo and Juliet that definitely(imo) beats the original.

Sutton, wow did that girl go through it. The betrayals, the abuse, the turmoil she went through! but she fought for every damn second of it. I loved her character in every way.

Calder..what a man. He is officially added to the best book boyfriends list✋🏻 he fucking adored that girl and went through hell and overthrew the leader of it for her.

Also the The two friendship groups? Fucking ride or dies rights there (literally west😭)

If this book is anything to go by and how quick I devoured it I honestly can't wait to read more by this author 🙌🏻

From the very first page of Just Like Heaven to the very last page of Sinning Like Hell this author and her characters take us on an extremely emotional journey. Calder and Sutton are fantastic and their story is nothing short of brilliant! It evokes emotions from deep, deep down and left me a complete and utter, inconsolable mess in all the very best ways.

"Our love has always been too big to contain."

If you're looking for a story that pulls everything from you, then this is exactly what you need. If you're looking for soft and sweet, don't go here, it's not what you need. BUT, you do venture in be prepared for this couple and their journey to stay with you for a long time to come.

"One lifetime isn’t enough."

Calder Wolfe. The man you are

There's that saying, right? A hero would sacrifice you for the world, but a villain would sacrifice the world for you.

Calder Wolfe is the villain. This man is the villain and I am FERAL about it. Calder told Sutton, "I sees ya, and I wants ya" and he meant every word.

God it was so good. So good.

I don't care. I don't care. I will take no criticism on this one. Im so glad I read it as a duet together. Because having to read them separately would have broken me. West. Broke me. 3AM crying in the author's inbox, broke me. Ok?

And don't get me wrong. My girl Sutton is a tough thing all on her own. But with a Wolfe behind her. Ugh. And the most incredible friends.

And sweet Roman. I need him to have a happily ever after.

I'd rate this forbidden love story ALL the stars in the sky

I was going to write a review about how heart wrenching and yet amazing this story is, but I've changed my mind and will just say this... If you enjoy an incredibly well written book, with characters that become embedded in your brain...just start reading. This was the way I would have wished Shakespeare's star-crossed lovers had ended together. Make sure you have the entire day (or night under the moon), because you will not want to stop until you hit that last page.

The story of Sutton and Calder's love was nothing I expected from Pucci, yet everything I never knew I needed. Villains and heroes and love.

“𝐈𝐟 𝐰𝐞 𝐨𝐧𝐥𝐲 𝐡𝐚𝐝 𝐭𝐨𝐧𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭, 𝐰𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝 𝐢𝐭 𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐛𝐞 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐡 𝐢𝐭?“

Calder & Sutton. One of my favorite couples by one of my favorite authors. You’ll yell out loud, swing at the air, fall in love, feel slightly gutted, but I promise you’ll love their story. The duet is a modern day twist on Romeo & Juliet. Remember the one you watched with Leonardo DiCaprio and Claire Danes? Yeah well, this is the adult way more intense version of that 😅.

Make sure you read the possible triggers beforehand.

There is so much offered in this series, definitely star crossed lovers! Never could have foreseen this epic love story unfolding as it did!

Angelina is downright amazing, as first a starry eyed innocent Sutton, then as a strong willed young woman trying to her best live in a beaten down world and finally downright fierce! Connor too was fantastic portraying the guys. How his Calder finds and protects his soulmate Sutton and how he was gentle with her, yet a dominant scary gangster too!

All the characters full of strife and showing able to withstand anything to protect an amazing undying love of two souls. Loved this series ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️
