Lia has been waiting her entire life for her mate. For someone who will be there for her, that she can depend on, lean on, draw strength from. And when she finally finds him, he rejects her.
She's lived on the fringe of their pack for as long as Mal can remember. How can she be the Alpha's mate when she's such a low ranking wolf? He needs someone strong who can help him lead.
Their wolves are stubborn though, and they're not going to let the rejection stand. Mal and Lia realize that they were both wrong about a lot and have quite a bit of growing to do. Hopefully together.
A second chance romance, fated mates, HEA, and no cheating!
Wren Elton grew up in the midwestern United States, dreaming of different fantasy worlds, and pouring words out onto whatever paper she could get her hands on. She fell in love with writing when she was around five years old, and she hasn't stopped writing since. She has one big dog, a couple of cats, and a deep love of anything bread based.
This story had SUCH potential despite the need for some editing. There were lots of spelling errors, but it didn’t detract too much from the story. My main complaint is that this book just lost momentum after the reconciliation. Also, the sexual tension fizzled after so many anticlimactic (literally) encounters. I stopped caring and got bored the last 30%. Also, what was up with Mal’s dad? There was potential for a very interesting plot twist there with some back story. Nothing else ever happened though, just mundane daily couple life stuff. Lia was a perfect paragon Luna.
The first 70% was 4.5 stars though. Live for the rejected mate angst!

I really enjoyed this story! It focuses only on the mated couple, which I found refreshing. I am tired of reading stories where the alpha rejects his mate and she finds out she has special powers. I also like the fact their wolves were mated and would not let them leave each other. Added a lot to the story! The only reason why I gave this book a 4 is because I found it a little long, but overall a great read I would recommend.
1. PSA to author ... learn the difference between the words “dominant” and “dominate”. 2. So. Many. Mistakes. Badly needed editing. 🙄 3. He claimed her when she was drugged and unconscious. That’s non-consent to me. I expected her to be furious when she realized what he'd done but she barely reacted. 🤬 4. Savannah and her friends almost killed Dahlia and then, they LIED to their Alpha. A month of clean up duty for her friends and two for Savannah was a ridiculously lenient punishment.

🐺Groveling MMC for rejecting his mate 🐺OW drama that isn’t over the top and has no cheating 🐺The MMC realizes his mistake not because she has a hidden super power but because she is a genuinely kind and strong person…
I loved this book. It's very well written and the plot concentrates on how the relationship between the two mates progresses, not on other outside forces like kidnappings and villains. It has some OW drama which i liked and also, i found the amount of grovel satisfying. I can't believe this story doesn't have more reviews, it's such a good rejected mates book! There is no cheating.
Alpha Mal rejects Dahlia. She has no rank, and he assumes this means she is a weak wolf. The truth is, she comes from a ranked Beta family, but her parents died, and she lost her rank when someone else took over her dad's job as Beta. Mal just never bothered to find out anything about her, and acted on his incorrect assumptions. His father (who is still alive but no longer acting Alpha), also influenced Mal's ideas about what the Luna would be like. So Mal believed his Luna would have a high rank in the Alpha's inner circle, as proof that she was the strongest female.
Their wolves won't allow them to separate. So they end up in a forced proximity situation. During this time, Mal learns a lot about Lia that challenges his assumptions of her, and assumptions about rank and power.
One "con" of this story, IMO, is that they couldn't really reject each other, because their wolves had the power to keep them together. They just had to eventually accept that they had to mate. I mean, you could look at it like they just had to accept the inevitable. Which is not very romantic at all. On the other hand, they end up forming a real relationship during their forced proximity, which is romantic.
To start, a big THANK YOU to Goodreads Giveaways for this ebook copy I was selected to receive! This was a lovely second chance shifter romance. The FMC is undervalued at first and roles end up reversing in a really considerate way. It paced well and the tension was great. I did find myself wishing for just a little bit more subplot or maybe just some higher stakes (besides the mate thing), and there were quite a few spelling errors that probably should have been caught in editing but it didn’t take away from the story being told. To round it up, I really enjoyed this book and would still recommend. 3.8 ⭐️

Yes it had typos or incorrect word usage but it also had all of the elements I seek in a rejected mate story. Angst, some drama and an FMC that was strong and didn't cave to BBS. I also appreciated Mal's grovel. He was patient and apologized through both words and actions. It was a slower pace, but that's what I want in a story like this. I hate when the FMC caves Ina day because of the mate link.
I'd been looking for a rejected mate's story that just solely focused on the couple. They weren't fighting some major world ending big bad in the middle of their love story it's just them and the people affected by their relationship I loved the story it made me cry and laugh and it was exactly what I needed
This was a very different take on rejected mates. The writing was fantasic as was the story. There were a few ploty points that were not explored fully and really could have been expanded on but other than that it was a great read.
I love a rejected mate story, bc trying to fight the binds of fate is always an interesting concept. They were a little more tightly bound, but fought no less. I did take away a star for the little bit of dragging we did during his grovel.
This is my first experience with this author but I must admit I am adding them to my list of great storytellers. This was intriguing and has taught a few lessons on life. I'm addicted to paranormal and believe wolves are my favorite.
That first half — it had me giddy! I was like yesss!! Now this is the rejection with angst and ow and dual pov book I’ve been searching high and low for! Sadly the book started to lose its flava and got too wattpadish that I was like this is BORING!
Mmc rejects mfc because she is an orphan and he thinks she will not be a good Luna. Mfc has quiet strength and mild manner. It’s slow burn. Mfc finds it hard to forget she was initially rejected.
I loved writing this book, and I hope those of you it finds, love reading it as well! Mal and Lia were so much fun to write as I explored one of my favorite genres! I love paranormal romance and this book may not be the first time that I've dove into this genre, but it is the first time I'm publicly sharing it with the world!
