chance of survival. By the grace of God, she made a full
recovery. Two years later, she shares the story of her

Melissa was born in Anderson, South Carolina. She grew
up in the Cheddar community and graduated from
Lander University with a degree in Elementary
Education. She and her husband Tommy have been
married since 1992 and currently reside in Powdersville,
South Carolina. They have two grown children.
