Shy art dealer Sasha Montgomery is both nervous and thrilled to be invited to the Caldorian Earth Base for her best friend’s wedding to an alien warrior. She’s never seen an alien up close but she made a promise to be there, no matter how much the idea of being surrounded by hundreds of huge alien warriors frightens her.
Sash thinks she’s got it all under control until Dagan, the groom’s best friend, crashes the wedding. He’s smoking hot—way too hot to be an alien—and determined to seduce her.
Sasha gives in to passion with unexpected consequences. Ancient power rises in response to their new-found bond, and the once innocent Sasha discovers that Dagan has been keeping secrets. He’s not just another warrior, he’s a king, and the power rising between them hasn’t been seen in a millennium.
Sasha must learn to control the force clawing its way through her body or destroy them all.

The heroine:Sasha - an artist and best friend to the bride, she comes to town for the wedding of her best friend to a Calderian. Calderian’s are an alien race who are on Earth to help set up Earth’s defenses and exchange technology. Sasha is a shy woman prone to anxiety and she lost her entire family in an auto accident.
The Heroes:Dagan - The king of the Calderians, he replaced his personal guard with Lumerian Knights who are widely known as the best fighters in the galaxy (like Jedi Knights). Dagan has come from Caldor for his best friend Cam’s wedding to a human woman. He is immediately attracted to Sasha and knows she is the one for him, he just has to convince her of the fact.
The Story: Dagan is on Earth for a few reasons, but when he sees Sasha, he knows she is the one for him and goes all out to try to win her. Calderian men are possessive and dominant. The romance between them is steamy from the start. The side story about the Lumerian Knigts, a super secret race of warriors that nobody knows about except Dagan and Cam is very interesting as well.
There were some very steamy scenes as usual in what I call the Alien Romance genre. I also cracked up a few times at the alien technology in this one. Like my favorite which would be so nice but is also so unbelievable. Sasha has a set of crowns to wear and when she puts one on all she has to do is think of what hairstyle she wants and some tech in the crown auto styles her hair.
The book is told in dual POV, but mostly in Dagan’s point of view and Teddy Hamilton does the narration. He is a great narrator with a wonderful voice and he is great to listen to. I don’t really like his voice when he is reading female lines so I wish this was dual narration, but it was still a good audiobook to listen to and I plan to listen to the next one right away as well.
I was enjoying it until it became non-consensual over and over. That killed the mood for me. The plot was rushed as well. This had promise, but I just couldn’t get past the forced ‘consent’.
I’m not sure if I liked this book or not. The ending was rather abrupt and the h wasn’t very likable. I mean seriously, your best friend gives you all sorts of warnings about these aliens. About how serious and possessive they are and how you shouldn’t make eye contact or you are bound to be claimed. Then you have sex with one and he has you repeat what he said to you so that you will have a clear understanding of his actions. Then he tells you over and over that you belong to him and that he is going through the claiming period to formalize the bonding. The girl, Sasha, gets upset because she didn’t understand that he wanted her as his mate? Either she is really really stupid or she is just not listening and he had her repeat what he said! Anyway, I had trouble getting past that point in the story. The H was likeable and he made it very clear throughout the story what his end goal was and I wondered what he saw in her. Seriously, she was really dumb. I want a h who is smart and sassy and acts with intelligence. I’m giving the story 3 stars because I think the Author shows promise and if she is able to tweak her heroines to act with intelligence and not to be dumb bimbos, I think that she could create a likeable series. Sorry this is such a harsh review, but I really did not like how the h acted through out the story. But if you want a story with great sex scenes, this one is for you.
I don’t know why but I wanted more from the romance than just insta-lust. The narrator did a decent job with the male voices but it wasn’t easy to distinguish one female character voice from the other. The steam was high. 😁 No surprise there.
If you like doormat heroines and asshole heros who feed them by hand, spank them as punishment and treat them as dogs (good girl!) then this is definately for you!
For me, this takes the crown as the worst book of 2019.
Impressively bad. Zero world building. A species who have visiting rights and treaties with a planet but somehow know nothing about the place or its people and customs...and biological compatibilities and functions despite hundreds of years. Cringey dialogue. So much miscommunication or no communications between the MCs...and side characters. Horrible best friend who thinks her BFF might like a guy from another planet but somehow neglects to divulge what little bit of information she may or probably doesn't have even though shes marrying to the same species. Im not one to complain about too much sex....unless its not so great sex. Even though I normally adore the narrator this book wasnt his best performance. I just couldnt close my eyes and suspend enough belief to make this palatable to me.
Just more silliness. I think this is a series best read in order, not starting at book 3 like I did 🙄. This book made book 3 make a bit more sense and Teddy Hamilton is still fun to listen to narrating this.
I grabbed a copy of this book on one of my favorite author's recommendations (Grace Goodwin is awesome, so check out her books).
I really liked this book but I will admit that it felt like being thrown into the deep end of a pool, unexpectedly. It opens as everyone is gathering for the binding ceremony of a human to a Caldorian with very little background given as to why the aliens are here and how Rachel and Cam came together (sort of like missing the very first book in a series and coming in at book 2). The Lumerian Knights are introduced right away but once again very little background is given about them (and they cause a plot hole at the end of the story).
Now to all the good things:
The Caldorians seem like just another alien species that comes to protect the Earth and exchange technology - in this case mostly medical cures and food replicators - and they have really cool markings (kind of like tattoos with special properties). It's the introduction of the king's bodyguards - the Lumerian Knights - that were the absolute frosting on the cake. Dagan and Sasha do the alien/human misunderstanding each others' customs thing. Dagan really screws up and his Lumerians step in to save the day and bring about one of the most fascinating developments in the story - what happens when a human is introduced to alien substances? Sasha goes from being the timid little introvert to an "on her way to being awesome" queen (she's getting there, but doesn't quite reach kick-ass confidence by the end of the book - hopefully, book #2).
I'm not one for steamy $ex scenes but this book has plenty. It was great to see (that for once), the main characters had to work at it - she's 5'3 and tiny, while he is around 7' and with equipment to match his size.
I can't wait to see where the author takes these characters from here but I will definitely be here waiting to see what happens next. (I really have my fingers crossed that he author gives us a little prologue that gives us Rachel and Cam's story, the intro of the Caldorians on Earth, and the legend of the Lumerian Knights),
This book missed the mark for me. The instalust turned love didn't resonate. The narrator didn't distinguish enough between characters so I had trouble keeping track of who said what. And the main characters seemed a bit dense. One is human, one is not, but they just assume that all the words mean the same thing to each other. No one tried to clarify they just figured the other person must know everything about the others culture/traditions. And the nonconsentual baby making really turned me off of the hero. They were some decent steamy scenes and some funny moments, but overall this wasn't the book for me.

When I started this story it seemed like it would be a fun, with some danger alien story unfortunately it quickly dissolved into a BDSM scenario.
Sasha off course is the virginal, shy part to the story and Dagan is the dominant alien that’s also a king (another name for billionaire). In the beginning of the story Sasha is self-conscious about the dress her friend picked out for her because it was too revealing and her breasts were exposed, after a night with Dagan she’s ready to have sex in front of an audience and bare it all to the world. WTH.
Dagan knows that Sasha is not aware of the customs of his people that doesn’t stop him from spanking her if she messes up. It just became a spank fest, with countless sex scenes. Every time Sasha would stand up for herself he would spank her. In between her disciplining moments we would get a little bit of a plot as to what was happening with his people and the enemy that was coming after them.
This story had the potential to be really good, if we took away the countless spanking scenes, more plot and let the sexy times flow naturally not every time they looked at each other.

New author to me, books had so much potential and yet managed to irritate me through pretty much every page. The world building had so much potential, yet in the end the power imbalance between Sasha and Dagan is gross.
Sasha spends most of the book being a mousy, closed off and uninteresting character; shy, non-dominate characters are great if done properly. Sasha is just flat then all of a sudden she starts to gain some dimension but is still meh.
King Dagan decides to not follow his own vow, he will stop if she wants. Several times she wants to stop and he pushes his dominace, sexual need and arrogance.
I'm all for alpha male character, all dominant and sexual. I'm not at all interested a completely imbalanced pair when one is clearly not interested in being forced to submit, some write submissions well but this is non-consensual sex ... not my cup of tea.
Sad really because the world building really piqued my curiosity but the rest was frustrating.
The writing wasn't horrible. At first the book seemed decent, if a little cliche.
I started having issues when it felt like the h was just written intentionally stupid all of a sudden. The H wasn't bad, didn't change personality, but seemed to get more intense, and it felt a little uncomfortable with him asking her to make serious and final commitments when she's "delirious" from lust. Not giving her a chance to think. It was manipulative imo.
It's written a bit like fanfiction. Like a childish daydream. Not serious or well thought out.
Everyone is hot, and ofc the heroine is a virginal porn star. Yikes.
I started reading this series out of order, but book 2 was so good I had to go back and read the first book. I'm so glad I did. So much going on. You get a HFN ending, but there is a huge overarching storyline going on and I'm not just talking about the lizard aliens.
Alien warrior KING. Chiseled to absolute perfection and oozing sex appeal like he could make you forget Earth ever existed.
Dagan is a 7ft extraterrestrial thirst trap : possessive, intense and gloriously talented 😏. He doesn’t just walk into the wedding, he dominates it and immediately decides Sasha is his. I ate it up.
Sasha is soft, sweet, anxious and totally not ready for his claiming. And yet… 💦
It’s so bad it’s good. The kind of trashy, over-the-top, every-cringey-romance-line-ever-written bad. But somehow?? IT WORKS. I devoured every spicy chapter and the complete and utter ridiculousness of it all.

Loved it. I don't know why people got upset about a little spanking. Geez... and she wanted it all, even if she was angry about him spanking her booty. Alpha aliens and their shy yet feisty human women. What more can you not love about this story. Adventure, magic and romance. All packaged up in a great little novel. Looks like it's going to be a series too by the ending. Can't wait for more. Sasha is just your average everyday human. Her job deals in art. And she can't wait to get back to it after her best friend's wedding. She's just going to stay long enough for that and take right back off to home. Only she didn't expect the huge looming male alien always watching her. Since she got there to the party. What does he want? And why does he look at her like she's his last meal...
So repetitive, in the first few pages or so we are told several times she is petite and curvy and cute. The same with her nipples being hard and pebbled. Then after the fuck the first time he tells her at least 4 times in a few paragraphs how he owns her.
I stopped after her spanked her as punishment for not understanding his customs. When she had told him she knew nothing about them. Ohh and then he tells some one that they interrupted him spanking his woman when the call him.
He treats her like brainless pet

This was an unexpected pleasure and a really great story. However, I feel like I missed some kind of back story. Dagan is Caldorian but there are Lumerian Knights who are his personal guards. Who are those Lumerians? We know that they are a secret but still. It felt a bit like I started in the middle of series. At first, I thought there are other books I might have missed but there are not! And then there is the story about Sasha's best friend Rachel and her Caldorian Cam. The book basically starts with the celebration for their binding which seems to be some kind of a Caldorian wedding ceremony. I wish we could have started with their story and how they met. We know that there is a Caldorian base on Earth and they are there to help protect the humans.
Don't get me wrong, I loved this book and practically inhaled it. Still, I wish there was more. Becca Brayden has not published many books which is a shame as her writing is fantastic but it still felt like we missed something. The ending was very sudden. I would have loved to see a bit more of Rachel and Cam at the end and I do hope that Ashlyn gets her own story in the future. This was great start and a promising beginning for me and Becca.

This is a fun, humorous, and very sexy ADULT Alpha Alien Romance🐺🍆⛲🔪🔫. There is also a good amount of strong cursing %&@# in the book, and the Alien men are clearly Dominants🐺🍆⛲👋 in every way. Look out, 🌎Earth women, here they come!!
I was about to put this one on the dnr list. Yes! It's the standard in romance. The Happy Ever After... for now, I guess. When did the trend happen. That there is so much kink, BDSM, and all within the label of romance. Shouldn't this be in the Subcategory of Erotica. Then the ending got me interesting in the next book. So not that disappointed!
Plot: Sasha is on-base to attend her best friend's wedding to a Lumerian warrior, and while there, she catches the attention of the Lumerian king, Dagan. She doesn't know he's the king at first, but she's also shy enough that she can't imagine what he would see in her. He's relentless in his pursuit, but so are his enemies. Sasha has secrets, though, things she doesn't even know about herself, and she just might be the one to save the day for everyone.
Commentary: Standard alien/human romance with some cultural misunderstandings, with the addition of the human heroine having some hidden abilities after they got together. A little heavy on the punishments when it seemed like she just didn't understand and he could have given her explanations instead of spankings, but that must be the vibe the author was going for. I would have liked a little more about Sasha and why she was so shy - I think it would have helped Dagan to know more too.
***This is a review for the first three books, focusing on the audiobook edition***
I wasn’t expecting much from this series. I wanted something quick, smutty and insta-love-ish with some plot to listen to while I did some cleaning/cooking.
I was pleasantly surprised to find that it was exactly what I wanted—at least the first three books—plus a decent enough plot, and interesting world-building.
There’re some very interesting concepts here that I hadn’t heard of before, which makes this book stand out to me.
I liked the world-building, however, when I read the first book I felt like I was missing a previous one. I checked and that wasn’t the case but I eventually grasped where everything was going.
The first book is a bit slower and lacks in action compared to the other two, but it’s nice enough and sets the foundation for the series, I enjoyed it.
Plus, the narrator is one of my favorites, I love his voice 💕
I really liked this story and the different approach to an alien romance. What I found lacking was the connection between the characters and the backgrounds. Nothing really explained why the main Male character was so enchanted with the main female character. Nothing really explained the main female characters background and why she had no experience with men. The action was well described and the kept the story moving, I love how the main male character took care of the female and all the romance involved between them, I just did not feel any attachment to them.
Narration was the only good thing about this book. And a few science fiction bits. The way the main male character completely disregards her wishes and gaslights her is written in a really bad way. He isn’t supposed to be mortally grey nor dark, yet he behaves appalling. She just puts up with it and gives very little protest. Her best friend doesn’t tell her 💩 and sides with the male because it’s their culture. WTAF 😱???? Badly written characters and the overall story is very lacking. I had to listen at 3,5x speed in order to not dnf. Teddy Hamilton narration was, as always, outstanding.
Story line is great and I loved the characters. I really enjoyed reading this book and I would recommend it! Unexpected twists and turns had me reading this book in one sitting. Great storyline and character development made this book a hot and enjoyable read!
