Camelot Untold #2

Realm of Ruin

Rate this book
I’ve bound myself to the Knights of the Round Table… and they’ve been snatched away from me.

I’m out of the crumbling kingdom of Camelot, yet I’m no safer anywhere I go. I don’t have my possessive, protective warriors to lean on in this wild realm.

Instead, I’m stuck with the mysterious adventurer who rescued me. The most famous of all the heroes from legend. Except this man is not the charming, chivalrous knight from stories. I don’t trust him. He scares me, and he’s equal parts mystery, danger, and red-hot sin.

Meanwhile, King Arthur has been overthrown by one of his closest allies. Reports of Arthur’s death surge through Logres, but I refuse to believe it. All I know is Camelot is in trouble with a rebel usurper as its leader.

Can I learn to trust the scarred man I’m with? Will he truly bring me to the mystical Old One, or does he have his own ulterior motives?

There’s something greater at work here than petty wars between kings. As I navigate this treacherous world, I pray I can reunite with my beautifully damaged knights before my fate is revealed… and sealed.

Author’s Realm of Ruin ups the ante in the “Camelot Untold” saga. This fantasy romance retelling of King Arthur is steamy, twisted, and dark. The morally gray men get grayer, the graphic depictions of lewdness and violence get more graphic (if you can believe it), and the secrets get darker. Please read the trigger warnings at the beginning of the book!

KC Kingmaker lives in San Diego and has been writing and reading fantasy and romance for years.

"Briarwitch Academy" was KC’s first foray into paranormal romance, trying to bridge the genres to make something steamy, funny, mysterious, action-packed, and most of all, fun!

"Dragon Shifter Dominion" came after, trying to meld that same steaminess with traditional fantasy, to create a romantic fantasy explosion!

"Shadowblade Academy," KC’s third series, is technically a spin-off of Briarwitch Academy, though it can be read as a standalone series. It has just as much intrigue and mystery and steam as the others, but things get a bit darker.

"Camelot Untold," KC’s fourth series, is a deep, dark dive into the rich lore of Arthurian legends. It’s reverse harem fantasy romance.

"Robin Hood and Her Merciless Men" is KC’s fifth series, and another spicy, dark retelling of an iconic legend.

For better or for worse, I am forever changed by that lute scene. I get that one trigger warning now, I really do. I am still not sure how that fit...ANYWAY.

Much like the first book, this one was dark. But I'm kind of used to the darkness now, so this was a pretty smooth read.

It starts off where the last book left us, with Camelot's *greatest* knight, SIR LANCELOT!!!! He's training Guin now, so that she can PROPERLY defend herself. It's so cute. They're cute. I love them.

For most of the book the two of them are together, BUT NOT IN THE WAY YOU'RE THINKING, it's a veryyyyyy slow burn when this world is concerned.

I was sitting there like "okay can you kiss/bang now please", but the wait was worth it. Because when they finally got together? I'm surprised they didn't cause a real world earthquake. IT WAS THAT GOOD Y'ALL.

The rest of the Knights were, of course, looking for Guinevere, minus Mordred who was off doing villain things. You know how it is, places to rule, people to be angry at.

He did look for Guin too, and there is a part of me that will forever be upset over how it went down when everyone finally came together.

Do I still want Mordred to "save" Guin from the others? MAYBE, YOU CAN'T BLAME ME. He's my meow meow. I will always support him no matter what.

But the other part of me is happy that they're all together again...FOR NOW. Because nothing is certain anymore with those twists. I kinda knew it would have to end like that, the cure I mean. BUT WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT TO ME KC???

Now I have to live in constant fear that my faves will die in the next book. Which in turn reminds me, someone did die in this one and I'm??? I DON'T KNOW WHY THEY COULDN'T MAKE IT TO THE END, THIS IS SO MEANNNN.

I liked seeing Merlin, and Morgan Le Fay (even though she's evil), the book wouldn't be complete without them.

But the one silly little thing that makes my heart happy, is that Lancelot isn't blond. HE HAS COAL BLACK CURLS AS HE SHOULD. WE CHEER!!! Thank you KC, mwah mwah.

*Thank you to the amazing author who provided me with an e-ARC in exchange for an honest review*

Realm of Ruin is a sequel that delivers! Following Lancelot's rescue of Guinevere at the end of Realm of Sin, the two travel across the continent in search of Merlin, all while running from the people who are looking them.

I definitely liked this installment more than the first book, probably because there was more plot going on. Guinevere's purpose and her family's uncanny naming conventions are explained. The introduction of two unreliable and powerful forces, Merlin and Morgan, was a nice touch. I, personally, don't know who to believe, which keeps me interested for the next book.

The highlight of this was Lancelot. I loved being able to see Lancelot and Guinevere's romantic development. It wasn't quite a slow burn, but it was extremely satisfying. Lancelot is definitely my favorite romantic interest for Guinevere (sorry Arthur and Gawain).

There were, of course, things that I didn't like which keep me from giving this book a full four stars. One major thing were the scenes between Morgan and Mordred. Not entirely a fan of the implications behind it.

Other than that, I liked it!

The first was smut personified. She decided to fulfill story this second round and it was both nice and also disappointing. Started for the smut and stayed for the storyline. Loved (and slightly horrified) the authors willingness to go all the way with even the most cringy of scenarios. A+ for follow through.

SUMMARY: (SPOILER WARNING)

Guinevere has been separated from Arthur and her knights. She finds herself rescued by Sir Lancelot -- a knight who has defected from the Round Table for reasons unknown at first.

As she travels with him they grow close and she finds herself falling for him just as strongly as she has for her other knights and king.

Meanwhile Arthur and his most loyal few are trying to find Guin while Mordred takes the throne in Camelot at the guidance of his aunt (who is actually his mom), Morgan le Fay.

But secrets abound and all is not as it seems. Once they meet up with the Old One (Merlin), Guin finds out so much more about her role and what caused the curse in the first place.

REVIEW:

Another exciting foray into Camelot Untold. The second book in the series is full of adventure, scandal, and smutty good times.

The one thing I didn't like about this book was Guin's long separation from Arthur and the other knights. Sure we had the Lancelot eye candy, but I missed them. The author sort of made up for it by writing in that Guin has magic-infused smutty dreams about them while on her journey to keep the reader happy. This was okay, but I definitely hope they don't all get separated again.

I am glad Lancelot has been brought into the fold. He had a beastly secret that was a fun reveal. Is it weird that I want him and Arthur to get it on? Gah. I just would love for them to *kiss* and make up. haha

As for the other potential harem member, Mordred. I still kind of think Mordred might be redeemed. He seems salvageable at times. I don't think he truly understands how evil Morgan is. I'm holding out hope he will turn around and join the RH like a good boy. lol

Now I know how the real legend ends with Arthur dying and I'm desperately hoping that the scenario Merlin lays out will not truly happen in this retelling. I hope we have a happy ending all around.

But anyways, it's a great story. Honestly this one was probably better than the first one as far as storytelling and characterization goes. I just missed my boys. lol

So overall another great read. I can't wait to see what happens next! Hoping for a happy ending with lots of adventure and smutty good times along the way!

Are you looking for a spicy fantasy read?
Like, a REALLY spicy fantasy read?
Like, think Den of Vipers spice.
But the theme is Camelot and the Knights of the Round Table?

Then BOY do I have the series for you!

Realm of Sin and Realm of Ruin are the first and second books, respectively, in the series Camelot Untold. The third and final installment, Realm of Kings, will be available in the beginning of September. This series starts off with a bang, quite literally, and definitely continues to deliver in the spice department. The story follows Gunivere–a down-on-her-luck New Yorker who has turned to all manner of things in order to scrape by. She has a nasty ex, Clay, and an inability to move on from the past, choosing instead to linger and attempt to fix past wrongs. The only bright spot in her life? Grandma Gwenny. Unfortunately, Grandma Gwenny passes within the first few pages of the first book, and Guin is sent to England and the River Brue in order to lay Grandma Gwenny to rest. Coincidentally, River Brue, and the surrounding area, are said to be the ancient borders of Camelot and contain the final resting place of King Arther and Queen Guinevere. When Guin spreads Gwenny’s ashes, she’s suddenly transported back in time to Camelot and King Arther’s court. Immediately, she’s attacked by bandits and is saved by Mordred, but loses the cup Gwenny gave her (which becomes rather important later). Guin travels with Kay and Mordred back to Camelot, where she is introduced to the remainder of the Knights of the Round Table (save for Lancelot, who comes along later in the second book). While in Camelot, she discovers that an ancient curse called the Rot is plaguing Camelot, causing death not just of crops and greenery, but also of the morality of Camelot’s citizens–it really is a realm of sin. Guin feels a pull to each of the Knights of the Round Table, and must ultimately go on quests and make decisions in order to protect her knights, and discover the truth behind her heritage and the curse of the Rot.

I enjoyed these books for what they were. I really love the myths and legends surrounding King Arther and his court, so I appreciated this take on the legends, even if there were some questionable historical takes. I liked the inclusion of magic in the second book, and particularly the idea of a time loop. The spice was plentiful and fairly well-written, but there is a ton of insta-love, which is really not a favorite trope of mine. Guin is kind of annoying as a main character, however, and I wish she had a little more depth and ‘oomph’. As I said, the Knights are all inexplicably drawn to her immediately, and she to them, which led to zero depth in her relationships with any of them. The only exception to this rule is Lancelot–I really did enjoy her relationship with Lancelot as there was depth, understanding, and communication before the rolls in the hay.

Overall, it’s a good palate cleanser from some other heavy, epic fantasy and I enjoyed the read. Please make sure to check trigger warnings before diving in as there are definitely some *situations* that might not appeal to everyone.

◦ I've received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review ◦

⮞ 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐬 ⮜
We're meeting the same characters as in the last book but also new characters that have an impact on the story. I've actually enjoyed the fact that Guin has changed the knights so much. You can actually see through the book how affected they are not being together with Guin. I've also enjoyed the fact we get to find the plot twist in Guin's story that goes in her family, it was interesting to say the least to know how the cycle is actually working.

⮞ 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐥𝐝-𝐁𝐮𝐢𝐥𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 ⮜
This time we've gotten more world-building and we've seen more parts of this world including a bit of the faerie world which was definitely pretty chaotic and made me feel like I'm on a fever dream, but it was captivating either way.

⮞ 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐈 𝐥𝐢𝐤𝐞𝐝/𝐝𝐢𝐬𝐥𝐢𝐤𝐞𝐝 ⮜
This time things were a bit slower, or at least it felt slower for me for perhaps half of the book when not much happened other than the knights trying to find their way and Guin kinda doing the same. Once things picked up, things became more interesting.

I liked seeing the knights missing Guin for just being her and changing and taking care of them and not only for the sex they were having, but mostly for the connection they actually formed together.

I've also enjoyed the new details offered in the world-building, and how different the world is where the rot isn't extending.

The plot twist regarding the rot was also mind-blowing and i didn't see it coming, the plot twist about Guin it was perhaps a bit easier to figure it out but not fully, it was still surprising to know the truth about her family.

The story was definitely interesting to follow and to know more about each character, about the cycle and Guin's family. I am definitely excited and invested into what's yet to come.

⮞ 𝐒𝐩𝐢𝐜𝐞/TW ⮜
As usual please read the TW's in the beginning of the book. The title is fitting for the book because there's A LOT of smut, this isn't a clean romance, there are lots of dark and harsh subjects too and is definitely not for the faint of the heart.

Thank you so so much to the author for sharing an ARC copy of this book with me !!!

“The girl with a belly full of fire and a heart of brimstone. The courageously reckless girl who finds herself on the road with a group of six knights she’s never met before.”

“I can’t take care of my little girl if I can’t fucking find her.”

“Face it, sir: You’re in jeopardy of becoming a good man.”

Only one word … AMAZING !!!
I am absolutely obsessed !!! When I received the ARC copy of this book I was so so excited I almost stopped everything I had to do to read this one. Book one was great. I fell in love with the characters, the plots, the story and the five peppers spicy scenes that will have you question your sanity. But this one … let’s say that a certain Sir Lancelot makes his appearance and will have you swooning over him very very soon into the book … and there is an entire chapter of Gwen reuniting with her knights that is … well long and unhinged !!!! Also prepare yourself for an amazing version of King Arthur !!!! Because I have to say … he is still my favourite of all time !!!! Gawain and Percy and Kay and now Lancelot , they all know how to make a girl feel satisfied … but Arthur … he is and always will be the only king of my heart !!!!! And the way he shows his possessive side a bit more this time around … I was so so there for it !!! More magic that can’t be explained. Some very terrible truths revealed. And some secrets that even the knights have a hard time remembering !!!
And before all of this can happen, the amazing author decided to add a recap of the events of book one as the prologue !!!! I love her !!!!
You people need to check this book out as soon as possible. But good luck when you start reading … you’ll need it !!!

“You’ve been a bad, bad girl, haven’t you?”

“My eyes veer to the hill, where my wicked knights stand tall, proud, patient . . . and hungry.”

“We’re discussing this later on, little girl.”
I shoot him a nervous smile. “Oops. Did I make daddy mad?”

“Let yourself go, little one. Drift off into sleepy bliss. You’ve earned it. We will all be here when you return, because we’re never fucking going anywhere without you again.”

Hell yes!!! This sequel did not disappoint!! I took my time reading this book as I love curling up with this series and enjoying all the steamy Arthurian scenes!

I was a little worried at first as I did find the book started off slower than the first novel. I personally would have liked more Lancelot/Guinevere stuff more early on in the book. I'm not as into the scenes between the knights themselves. Doesn't do it for me.

However, when the Lancelot Guinevere stuff did come into play,...damn!!! So flippen good ! Hot hot hot!!!

KC Kingmaker knows her Arthurian literature. I loved how Tristan and Isolde make a little appearance. Also, it's always interesting to see how the Arthur/Morgan incest plot will be used, if it is, and Kingmaker makes it a nice center piece Illuminating the curse of Camelot which will bring about the final battle of Camlann! Love it!!!

Okay... Lancelot as a ....werewolf... dragon, not fully sure what creature he is actually. I found that an interesting ad lib that I am going to hold off on commenting on until the final novel. I know Kingmaker is a paranormal romance writer, so I was curious if she would do this. It's definitely a new ad on to Lancelots' story in Arthuriania, so I'll ride it out a bit more before I decide how I feel ;).

Btw I toally can't stop Invisioning Lancelot from King Arthur 2004 with these two swords! Which is my favorite version of the character!! Thank you!!!!!

Loved her version of Merlin. Definitely brought back happy memories of Colin Morgan in BBC Merlin. I loved the Benjamin Button reference, haha!

Morgan....hmmmm. Definitely got an Eve Green from Camelot 2011 vibe, and since that is my favorite depiction, I loved it! She is vile, sexy and oh, so twisted!!

Was nice to see the character of Galehaut brought into a story. Always loved the Knigjt and Gaint. Cool story with some interesting social and sexual innuendo that authors usually ignore. Loved Kingmaker's play with his and Lancelog relationship.

Overall, I loved the book!!!

Sex scenes did not disappoint!! Steamy, steamy!!

Two words that best describe it, HOT DAMN!!

Enjoy y'all.

This story continues with Guinevere, separated from her dear King and knights, longing to reunite with them…and vice versa. They crumble while being apart, each relying on their vices to get by; but while the men commit to debauchery and rage, Guin leans on a knight in shining armor. She explores her lust for the knight who rescued her, while she deals with the knowledge that another betrayed her, and accepts the fact that the others aren’t with her.
While everyone else is on a quest to find her, she’s on a quest to find the Old One, Merlin. He is said to hold the answers to stop the curse on Camelot, so when she finds him, what secrets will he unfold and truths unravel? Will she be Camelot’s salvation or ruin…

It has a king, knights, witches, wizards, goblins, quests, prophecies, dreamscapes, magic, sex in groups and public, battle, brotherhood, punishment and praise, duels, loss and love.
This dark medieval fantasy romance continues to explore the tales of Camelot in an even darker and debaucherous way; adding in some ADVENTURE and MAGIC and exploring more depravity, sin and RUIN.

Guin is still feisty, bratty and reckless, but now she’s stronger. She’s got a fiery heart that brightens everyone’s darkness and burns with love and desire for the King and each of her knights.
While our King and Knights of the Round Table break, fight and push their way to find their girl, she explores their brother Lancelot. He’s just as delicious as the others; bringing some drama, duty and mystery.
Their why choose romance stays dirty and steamy with sexy dreams, kicky woodsy magic bondage, dominance, possession and a willing promiscuous plaything; as Lancelot adds a bit of jealousy and pushes Guin where the others haven’t yet.

The ending was exciting, sad, shocking and SERIOUSLY TWISTED. I can’t believe I have to wait to see what happens next.

“Her mystery fascinates me. Her beauty ignites me. Who she is on the inside destroys me.”

We are back in the realm of sin in book two of Camelot Untold, Realm of Ruin. The book starts with one of the best recaps of what happened last that I have ever read, told in a more conversational format that works so well, catching you up to speed if it’s been a bit since book one!

Imagine you’ve found yourself wandering into a theme park of debauchery and sin. You know there are rides that you’ll absolutely love and rides that will get your heart racing. That’s what Realm of Ruin felt like reading. Diving further into the dark and twisted Camelot that KC Kingmaker has created, was a rollercoaster that I loved, with twists and turns I didn’t see coming.

⚠️ SPOILER FROM BOOK ONE AHEAD ⚠️

With Realm of Sin ending on the cliffhanger that was revealing Lancelot, I loved being able to read about his character more in Realm of Ruin. I also loved reading Guinevere grow as a character and become a more badass FMC. All the dark characters that inhabit Camelot are made from the depths of morally grey and carved for the readers enjoyment.

As was the case of book one, this is an extremely steamy and raunchy romantasy smut novel. Leave logistics at the door, strap on and strap in for a sinful ride, and as always, check trigger warnings before reading 🖤

The Story/Plot: Guin and her knights of the round table return and are faced with lies, deceit, prophecy, and mystery. Guin and Lancelot are on one journey, and the remaining knights are on their own. Toss in a traitor, a wizard and sorceress, and you have the recipe for a magical tale filled with drama, battles, and intrigue. Will Guin be reunited with her knights? Will their erotic escapades continue? Will finding out about the prophecy change everything?

Strengths: These characters are developed in such a way that you can not help but adore each of them for their various traits. They each have distinctive personalities, and the multiple POVs allow the reader insight into how each of these characters think and feel. This world is created in such a way that, as the reader, I was fully immersed, and I could not put this book down! I definitely did not see the plot twist coming!

Weaknesses: Truly, there were few weaknesses, and the only thing I would have was that I noted a couple of grammar/editing errors, but this could have just been the ARC version I received.

What a mother of all sequels to Realm of Sin. I honestly cannot rave enough about this series. KC Kingmaker is the ultimate “KING” (because it’s literally in the name) at writing spicy fantasy romance.

The world building… amazing!
The plot… phenomenal!
The spice… HAWTTT DAMN!

Knights of the round table, make room for SIR MOTHER FUCKIN LANCELOT.

Realm of Ruin left right off where the first one ended and you get to see how Guin and her men handle being separated. Guin remains being the fiery smart ass that she is, even when in battle.

Sir Lancelot is a welcome addition and took my top spot for favorite men. He lives up to his reputation and I’m so excited to see what his character becomes in the future.

You also get some flashbacks/memories of the other knights and Arthur, which lets you better understand them. Their POV’s also break your heart a bit because of how fiercely devoted they are to Guin and not being around her breaks them all.

A majority of the book is spent with Guin and her knights separated but holy grail when they finally get back together hold onto your magical horses because fuck me running…. It’s gonna be a ride. We thank you Merlin for your assistance with their reunion.

The ending twist nearly made me want to throw my kindle. I can’t imagine what KC has planned for the final installment but it can’t come out soon enough.

MM/MMM/MF/MMMFM and it’s all delicious.
Multiple POV’s

On a final note - Fuck you Morgan Le Fey. Just fuck you.

Again. Amazing. The first was so good. But the goodness absolutely kept on going into the second novel.

First — I looove that we got to see a whole lot more of King Arthur and his possessive OTT personality. He still remains my favorite. But it’s still so hard to choose. Sir Lancealot though quickly becomes higher on my list, however. Heck. It’s just hard to choose.

The love these knight have for our firecracker Guin is enough to hurt me just enough that I felt the heartbreak the entire time. Along with some flashbacks that allow you to dive deeper into the knights backgrounds, the character and world building continues to be stellar just as expected.

The moment they are reunited is worth all the crying I did. Such a good long, lengthy reunion.

The twists and turns were unexpected and all the things we learn along the way leaves so much expected out of the next and final book in this series. I honestly can’t wait to see how it’s wrapped up complete with a bow.

Also that ending and cliffhanger… you get me every time. 😂

Book 2, does not disappoint! The saga continues with the Knights of the Roundtable and their muse Guin, from another world. She is stolen from the knights, King Arthur is dethroned and Camelot is in more ruin that ever. The puzzle pieces are falling into place for Guin and once Merlin tells her more, she realizes what the end game is...will she stay or will she leave?

The knights and dethroned King Arthur search relentlessly, Lancelot finds the maiden, falls for her and she for him, exactly like the other knights. He tries to deliver her safely to Merlin, but things are happening so fast, nightmares, monsters and hidden agendas from a wicked sister of King Arthur.

As in the first book, this one is full of erotic intimate and steamy scenes, with multiple partners, very descriptive, in what is happening, so if this freaks you out, you'd best find something tamer.

Loved this weird version of Camelot and the knights with all their flaws and attributes, their devotion to their king and Guin, her devotion to them and how they fight for each other. I cannot wait for Book 3!

WOW! Okay the first book was really good – the second book AMAZING!!! Now I can’t wait to see what this author has instore for us for the final book!

The imagery and worldbuilding continues to be outstanding and the characters are just phenomenal (I definitely hated some but fell hopelessly in love with others). The story is dark, suspenseful, action-packed and twisted and had me on the edge of my seat once again, with my adrenaline pumping and my anxiety going crazy! It was a wild rollercoaster ride with an ending that shocked me.

I loved all of the action and suspense that the story contained, but I also loved how incredibly spicy, deliciously depraved and kinky it was! Nothing was off limits!

It was well written, with amazing characters (some new ones too that I just loved) and a plot that had my heart racing with all of the twists and turns the story takes and then breaking over the way this part of the story ended. I need to know what happens now!

I was not paid for this review or told what to say. These are my own thoughts and feelings.

And those thoughts and feelings are holy fuck?! What the absolute fuck did I just read????! It was so fucked up but I loved every minute of it!!!

So many twists and turns and I didn’t even see them coming. I can always tell how something will end; movie, tv show, book, etc. I always see the twist and turn coming and who the bad guy is but I didn’t see the big twists and turns here. It was refreshing. KC Kingmaker keeps surprising me.

Of course the romance parts were freaking perfect. They’re really working hard for this HEA. Guin is such a beautiful character and her heart is so soft and so big and I think she’s too cute for this world and then she goes and shows that she’s the perfect queen for Camelot!

Realm of Ruin was my 26thth read of 2023 and was an e-ARC read.

It is the second book in a dark King Arthur re-telling series.

4.5⭐ Rounded to 5 since Goodreads doesn't do half stars.
Still loving this spin on the King Arthur tale.
I. love. Lancelot! He's my favourite of the Knights I think. He's just so.... Well, read the book! Though I really enjoyed the first book, I wasn't vibing with any of the Knights in particular. I was leaning towards Arthur. Enter Lancelot! 😍 He is mine. Back off!
Book 2 had more world building and introduced us to new characters and has us set up perfectly for the conclusion coming in book 3.

5+🌶️ ~ Come all ye who are spice thirsty. Though normally my 5 chili rating is for more smut than plot, this book definitely has more plot. That being said. The spice is descriptive, explicit and there will be no missing it once you get to those points!

4🗡️ ~ Medieval knights in fantasy medieval times. There will be blood.

2.5😂 ~ The banter is always great and makes me giggle.

🩷 This was a great second installment to the Camelot Untold trilogy and I am HERE for book 3!!!

Wow!
So Realm of Ruin picks up where Realm of Sin ends, and oh my Lancelot!!
I love him and how he calls Guin “Fireheart” it’s my favorite!
There is so much that happens in this book and it’s crazy!
With the different things happening first with Arthur and the knights of the round table, Domino/Mordred, then Guin and Lancelot it was amazing to read about everything that was happening all at once.
Merlin though?! 🤯 (Benjamin Button that’s all I’m saying!)
I still love Gawain but Lancelot kinda sneaked up on me and has become my favorite!
I am so excited for book 3, it’s going to be an amazing book! Especially with the twists we found out in this book!

Ahhh I love this series so much!

This continues after the first one with Guinevere traveling with Lancelot and the rest of her men in hiding after the coup. What I loved the most about this book is the way the relationship between Lancelot and Guinevere developed. She spent a lot of time with him, a lot more singly compared to the other men and so I felt like their relationship actually developed into something truly real and I loved seeing how they interacted because she was so positive and he was more grumpy and broody, but also could be a tease. It was delicious and definitely a slow burn, my favorite!

We get to learn a lot about Lancelot, and a lot more about Mordred and his lovely family, such as Morgan. And then, of course, there’s plenty of spice, especially towards the end 😏

And for some reason, I thought this was a duology, and so to my surprise, I now have to wait for the next book! 😭😂
I received a free digital copy to read(thank you to the author!). All thoughts and opinions or my own.

I was honored to be an ARC readers for this book. This is book two in KC’s Camelot untold series, where she is taking the Arthurian legend and turning it on its head and making it her own. It starts right where book 2 left off and it is non-stop adventure from there. We follow Guinevere and Lancelot as they try to find Merlin. Arthur and the other knights are trying to find Guinevere and craziness ensues at all ends. The spice level on this book is high, but so is the drama and adventure. I am enjoying this series and can’t wait for book 3.

⚔️ ~ 5 🌟 REVIEW ~ ⚔️

Where my RH dark romance fans at?! This is so for you! Very morally grey characters with lots of spice!! Hello Sir Lancelot!! I'm not sure why I didn't realize he was missing in Book 1 - too many other gorgeous men to focus on, I guess. But my oh my is he dark perfection!! I love watching him train Guin and seeing her character growth! And holy slow burn!!

I love getting diferent POVs! The RH is spicy and I like how individual each character is! This is dark so read TW! I couldn't put this down - I NEED Realm of Kings NOW!!!

The second installment of Camelot Untold is an action packed fast read filled with everything I loved about book one, and twists and turns that had me screaming until the end. I just want our crew to be okay and I don’t know how they’re gonna make it out of this one. I can’t wait for book three! I highly recommend this series if you’re looking for a dark, why choose romance, with life and death stakes and angst.

The sequel holds up and I still couldn’t put this down either! Anxiously awaiting book 3! The slow burn between Lancelot and Guinevere was so steamy. The pain of being separated from her men palpable. Some of the scenes were a little odd (read the content warnings) but totally worked for me. As for the twist ending, once again not totally a twist if you have a little knowledge of Arthurian legend. But still so good with its own little twist wound in.

The reveal that every Guinevere has left Camelot and gone to Earth is fun, especially because Arthur is not a real historical figure and there are many contradictory Arthurian legends. The first Guinevere may have told one person a certain version of events, which ended up being recorded, and subsequent Guineveres probably all ended up with Arthur but maybe not the others or a combination of the others, which creates a fun reason of contradictory stories.

Im still into the story and the surprises that are popping up,but Guinevere is starting to get on my nerves. Im just liking her less and less. She didnt care about Lancelot's feelings as long as she was still able to have him. Shes in love with him, but still wants to party with everyone else and she gets mad and calls him a coward when he leaves.. all of their actions have to revolve around her
