I used to read these books as a kid, and honestly, I love this new graphic novel version! The art is so cute, and the story is so easy to read and enjoyable. Already planning to give this to every friend with kids I know. Phenomenal job, truly fun and a great take on a classic.

This graphic novel is based off a novel of the same name written by Marcia Thornton Jones and Debbie Dadey. I have never read the novel, but my oldest daughter read it and gave it over to me to check out...and so of course I did. I think it was a winner and was surprisingly lighthearted and fun. The art perfectly holds the mood of this book, and it is the perfect size and length. I highly recommend this one for ages 8-12. Not that other ages would not enjoy it...but I think this is the perfect age to enjoy this book...at least in my household. I will warn people that this is the fourth book in the series. I have not read any of the previous three, but it is easily accessible without feeling lost, and intriguing enough for a person to maybe want to go back and read the previous three. The title tells you all you need to know about this book...which contains kids, a dragon, pizza and knight. Good stuff!

I don't know much about the series to know whether there is ACTUALLY a dragon (spoiler: they didn't find out, so we don't) or simply a lot of highly imaginative kids, but this is a cute story that can be read by itself despite being book 4!

That said, it's slightly frustrating that it ISN'T spelled out, because sometimes we just want to KNOW, even if it's a fictional story!

Rogue and I read this book for bedtime. It's pretty much the perfect bedtime book. There's great art, a good story, funny moments, and it's not dense text so you can keep turning the pages and continuously enjoy the good colorful art.
