They had a perfect life until the night it vanished…
Harper White had it all - a thriving business, a handsome husband, and dreams of a new life.
When the chance to sell their hotel for millions comes along, Harper sees it as the answer to realizing her ambition of creating a boutique beach-side getaway in Australia. All she has to do is convince her husband a new life will reinvigorate them both.
But then the unthinkable happens and all their hard work is ripped away in an instant. A grieving Harper makes the brave decision to follow her heart and start over in the idyllic Australian small town of Hibiscus Bay.
The locals are welcoming as she goes about refurbishing the derelict Hibiscus Sands Hotel. She even attracts the attention of the most sought-after bachelor in the bay – a handsome blonde surfer – who begins to find his way into her heart with his gentle ways.
But something doesn’t feel right.
Will Harper be able to put the past behind her and open her heart to a second chance at love?
Or will the life she once lived forever haunt her?
The Beach Hotel is a clean, contemporary women’s fiction romance series filled with family, community, and a dash of mystery, in the beautiful beach setting of Hibiscus Bay.
The Beach Hotel, #2 - Picks up in pace and interest. New lives, old worries. There's a lack of communication between a couple that does not help their marriage. 4*
Hibiscus Bay Series: The Beach Hotel, #1 - I am used to Ms. Jacobs cutting a book into five pieces, so know this "series" is on the Installment Plan. That aside, this snippet is interesting with character introductions, story lines and a cliffhanger. The characters are likeable and the usual story lines of marriages that maybe dying and couples pulling apart. 4*
The Beach Hotel, #3 - Life is moving on, new relationships, new work and the old past raises its head. 4*
The Beach Hotel, #4 - Very interesting, especially the last half of this installment, with good suspense the last chapters. 5* Hibiscus Bay Series end.
Roses in the Sand - This would have been a good story except for that stupid formula, which is the fourth book this week I read to follow it. She's finally found love again; he has to leave but will tell why when he returns; she demands to know; he can't tell; she freaks and breaks up; while he's gone she's depressed and filled with selfishness.
Add to this, the woman is cyberstalking her ex for five years, the one she chased on foot as he drove off; that's different. New guy returns, spills what and why, and HEA.
This could have been a sweet story. Megan can write well but following the same worn out formula ruins her story. I mean is this the acceptable, politically correct behavior today, a mental woman and "a slave to her" man? Romantic return. 3*
"Holding onto hope is sometimes worse than letting go.”
With all that's been lost it's a wonder Harper has any strength left. Two years have passed and Harper and her Mom Freya have move to Hibiscus Bay and begun settling in as they rebuild and refurbished an old hotel on the hill.
And while she's doing that Freya has joined the church choir and made a few friends along the way. She's setting in, but misses her son Zachary whose dealing with his career as an author as well as his marriage kinda tanking.
With a "Christmas opening" in the works, Harper is so focused on the hotel she's not sure why her little brother couldn't be there....but ...
Megan Jacobs is the " queen of the cliffhangers" in this series and she knows exactly how to reel us into another love contemporary mystery. Can hardly wait for book 3. Highly Recommended 5/5

Two years after Harper’s husband disappeared as her hotel burnt down, she and her mom, Freya, follow her original dream and relocate to Hibiscus Bay in Australia. She buys the derelict Hibiscus Sands Hotel to refurbish. Meanwhile, her brother, Zach, continues to struggle with both his marriage and career. . A warm welcome from the town’s residents ensure that both Freya and Harper settle quickly, while enjoying the beach and making some special friends. As the hotel's opening reception begins, Zach arrives... After being a little disappointed in the opening book of this series, it is reassuring to note that Megan has written this novella with her usual easy-to-read style and pace. I received a free ARC from the author and this is my honest opinion.
After her hotel burnt down and her husband is still missing presumed dead, Harper and her mother move to Australia to open the hotel on the beach that she has been dreaming of. She meets one of the locals on her morning runs and soon finds herself wanting to run into him more often. Her mother is also finding new friends and way to fit in. But it seems her brothers marriage is on the rocks and surprises them by turning up at the hotel in his own.

These novellas are so easy to read. The writing style keeps you glued to the page, and you find yourself just flying right through the story. Being the second book of the series, everything is still building up, I have a feeling the next book will be one of the better ones, especially because of the cliffhanger at the end of this one.
The romance in this one was so cute. I really like the relationships building. I think the characters are all amazing. They are the type of characters that you can't help but love. I definitely can't wait to see what happens next with them.

Really enjoying this series! Great pull into the storyline and realistic characters make this story unfold in front of me. Learned more about all of the characters and it ended with a cliffhanger for one of those characters. If you enjoy seeing lead characters grow stronger with adversity and life goes against them and they fight back harder in life to achieve their dreams and goals this book is for you.
I received an early copy for my honest and voluntary review.
Book two of the series and there is a lot packed into it. Freya is worried about Harper, so she suggests the move to Australia. Harper buts a run down hotel with plans to fix it up. Both Harper and Freya begin to make friends in their new home. Excellent storyline, really like all the main characters. Liked when Freya and Harper were bombarded by the dogs Hugh was walking. Enjoyed this installment, Megan Jacobs is a very talented author.
Ms.Jacobs's stories are so easy to read, the characters are relatable, and even though they may face difficult times, there's always hope that everything will be allright. The second book shows how Harper has started a new life in Australia. Zachary continues to be the most troubled one. The description of the beach and the easy going Aussies are just great! The ending leaves enough questions to be answered in the next book. Entertaining! Rea
I am really enjoying this new series . Harper is now in Australia restoring a hotel with her mom. She is getting more comfortable with the people in her new community. Meanwhile, back in Los Angeles her brother Zack is facing challenges of his own . I am really looking forward to seeing what happens next in book 3.
The previous book ended with the fire and total destruction of Harper and Masons hotel, and Mason missing. Mason's body was not found in the hotel. Harper and her mother Freya move to Australia to refurbish a derelict hotel; The Hibiscus Sands Hotel. At the hotels grand opening, Harper's brother Zach shows up from LA. What will happen in book three, I can't wait to find out!!
The story continues to unfold. I love the mix of characters, especially Megan. There's alot going on in the beautiful setting of Hibiscus Bay. Enough plot twists and suspense to keep you interested and looking foward to the next book. I am loving this series!.

There's still a lot left unanswered in book 2! But the plot is unraveling nicely and kept me glued to the book all the way to the end. Definitely looking forward to book 3 and rooting for Zach's marriage. Not a stand alone! Note I'm an ARC reader for this book.

The story is moving along and all is going well for Harper. I enjoyed being on the journey with her to open the hotel. I'm looking forward to reading what happens in the next book.
This book finds Harper and her mother, Freya, in Australia. Harper bought an old rundown hotel that she is restoring. This is her dream. She met a man, Shane, when she went for a run on the beach. Her brother, Zach, and his wife are still living in LA. He isn't doing very well with his writing among other challenges that are occurring. There is a cliff hanger at the end. Really looking forward to the next book.
