As the wedding Marnie and Bran have battled for arrives, tensions between witches and their opponents escalate to the breaking point. Rioting and brawling are rampant in the streets. Kye remains alone in the jungle, trapped by a spirit on the brink of demon conversion, and time is running out.
The traditionalists of Loreley do not want a witch crowned queen and will do anything to prevent it. They rule the island from the safety of its massive walls, wielding injustice like a weapon.
But Marnie’s not scared anymore. She’s ready to fight. She’s ready to wear the crown.

I had to think very carefully about my rating for this book. On the one hand, I stayed up till 4am to finish it in one sitting and dreamt of it, and on the other, I absolutely hated the beginning and Jack. I’m giving it 5 stars because it doesn’t deserve less, but I am not happy with Jack- just sayin’.
Plot: Marnie is feeling the pressure of her upcoming wedding and Jack’s absence dearly. When he arrives, he is not the same Jack that left. The man who has returned is darker and wants things from Marnie and her magic that she isn’t willing to give.
Jack is suffering. He feels broken and lost and for the first time he does things that would risk his relationship with Marnie.
Bran is looking forward to marrying his best friend and when certain events occur, he isn’t sure if he will ever be enough to take care of her in the way he needs.
Can the trio overcome their problems and find their HEA?
My thoughts:
The beginning of this book may have killed me. I am still so mad. I don’t know if I can ever forgive Jack. I know things got resolved and everything was forgiven, but I can’t get over it 🤣 I think I felt betrayed on Marnie and Bran’s account, but mostly Kye. After the events of the beginning and the discussion between Jack and Bran about Marnie later, it felt almost like Kye was second best. I believed in Jack’s love for her in Warrior Witch but I wasn’t convinced here 😩
Marnie and Bran were stronger than ever in this book. Marnie has become one of my absolute favourite heroines and I loved the darker, jealous side of Bran in this book.
It was more spicy than the previous book and I absolutely loved those intimate moments.
Although there were moments I wanted to throw my kindle at the wall, I think this is evidence of Prater’s captivating writing. I wish more people knew about this book so that I can rage with them. I can’t wait to buy the paperbacks!
An epic conclusion to the Street Witch series. Drawn into a brewing war, Marnie is just wanting a chance to marry Bran. Meanwhile Jack’s seperate to save Kye who’s been possessed by a spirit about to turn demon.
THE BLURB
Despite Jack’s efforts so far, he hasn’t found a way to seperate the spirit Rabbit from Kye. And time is running out until Rabbit converts to a demon.
Marnie and Bran’s wedding is drawing closer. The traditionalists of Lorely do not want a witch to be crowned queen however, and are willing to go to any lengths to prevent it.
Tension between witches and the Cloth have never been higher, and the people are at breaking point. Barriers seperate the classes and the people. Rioting and brawling are rampant in the streets. Loreley is more dangerous than ever.
Marnie’s not scared anymore. She’s decided she is finally ready to marry Bran. And she’s willing to fight for it.
The Hero Witch is ready to bring down the walls.

REVIEW
One aspect of Stephanie’s writing that I love so much is her characters. They truly feel like real people. Each have their own goals, their concrete beliefs, and the fears that drive them. Each of these aspects craft the personality, and the characters thrive and struggle with their situations. Some grow fat, some lose hair and turn grey, and others grow anxiety and depression.
No hiding. No trying to make peace. Lines in the sand have already been drawn. It’s time to fight. No barrier ever gets broken down without a fight and a few casualties.
Unlike many novels, in Hero Witch you will see each and every character undergo some sort of character growth. In the case of some it may be to finally commit themselves to a particular side of the oncoming war, or to overcome a fear.
“Loreley has a fear problem. Fear that has germinated into hatred,” Jack said, “and witches aren’t tolerating it quietly anymore.”
The character’s themselves are a reflection of the marvellous world that Stephanie has created. Loreley has growing tensions between the classes, religion and magic users. This converts to issues throughout the city with riots, brawls, subjugation and prejudice.
The story flow is nice; at no point will the reader get bored with unnecessary scenes and be left wishing for action. You will be drawn in to the events occurring and wondering just how the heroes and heroines will survive and save the city and their friends.
FINAL WORD
Hero Witch is a stunning and tension filled ending to the Street Witch series. A few shocking twists will leave you truly not wanting to put the novel down.
Riveting, funny, touching conclusion to this series. I love how the author touches on real-life issues without preaching to the reader. Can't wait for her next book!
Hero Witch is the fantastic finale to S. L. Prater's amazing Street Witch series. Hero Witch grabs you right from the start and never lets go! The storyline is fast-paced and very well written, filled with witches, magic, mayhem, Intrigue, subterfuge, politics, danger and romance. The characters are well developed and engaging. Marnie has truly come into her own, having now become one seriously bad-a** witch. Overall, this is one witchy series that should not be missed!
Long may she reign!! I received an ARC. This series is fantastic! Screw the patriarchy! Finally a strong mouthy heroine that is awesome till the end! Why are we always taught to fear the witches and never the people that burn them for being who they were born to be? I would never take that crown off either, she earned it. Long live the Queen!!!
This was a pretty good conclusion for what this series ended up being.
I really loved the characters and the politics surrounding the bishops and the witches in the first book. BUT, slowly through book 2 and 3 it was all lost to me. I stopped loving it so much. We started focusing more on the characters, but nothing really major happened with any of them. Instead of ripping through these books and feeling this inability to put them down, I found myself just going through the motions and reading the books without much feeling toward them.
The story was good, the characters were good, but whatever made book 1 fantastic just didn’t follow through into the rest of the trilogy.
I really adored this trilogy. I loved how the magic worked and how they got rid of the bad guys. It was full of egotism but also hope. It's a really good series.
What the HECK, Jack?!?!?! 🤯 That's probably the strongest thought accompanying me during this read. I felt betrayed and was so angry with that character that I've considered throwing the book at the wall (I didn't).
Anyway, while Jack was acting cray-cray, Marnie and Bran turned out to be just as strongly in love and just as strongly committed as one would imagine after having read the first two books (jealous Bran--I see and ADORE you 💓). That's been a relief, even though I was on the edge almost throughout the whole book. Fear not, my friends, I ended up becoming even braver and a more willing reader after the experience. 🥴
I admit that I did not expect this series to evoke so many emotions and that I would feel such great sentiment for it. This trilogy is so UNDERRATED, it kills me. Stephanie has the most captivating way with words, creating engaging, but also extremely heartwarming stories, making them the safest place to escape to.
OMG. Page one starts off with a steamy twist that caught me off guard and I loved it. The entire book came through with promises of wonderfully witchy writing and a nice level of romantic tension that ends with steam. Best of all, it wasn't just once I found myself yelling at the book (in a good way) and surprised at where things went. This third book was a great ending to a wonderful witchy series -I received a review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
Marnie is a great MC. She’s funny, smart, witty, and not afraid to say it like it is. I love that about her and it makes reading her character very entertaining. I also loved reading about Jack and his life. I do wish we got to hear from Bran and Kye though. I would’ve loved that. They both were characters that I would’ve loved to hear more from. That aside this book did a great job wrapping up the end of the story and I honestly wish it wasn’t over all the same. Marnie is still a badass with secret agendas that I love in an MC and she’s not afraid to love and be loved. Overall I would recommend this book to everyone. Spice: 🌶️🌶️ Steam: 🔥🔥 Sweetness: 💗💗💗💗
This was a weirdly disappointing conclusion to the series for me and I didn’t like the whole beginning with Jack. I don’t feel like it added anything to the plot or even to show part of his personality it was just weird and off putting to me. I also found the plot with the anarchists and the twist to be a little let down. I did enjoy the whole world and the build up as well as the come uppance for some of the villains.
What a fitting end to the trilogy. I enjoyed how some people got what they deserved. The happy endings for Marnie, Jack and all the rest of the witches was wonderful to read.
Good series, the world building is phenomenal. Not very spicy but has some spice. More of a government propaganda (fantasy government with realistic undertones) book than a romance novel.
This book was a cute ending to the Street Witch series - I really enjoyed it. And it wrapped up all of the questions left in the second book perfectly.
