I am dumbfounded that this is the same demanding grump I used to work for. Now he’s holding my child’s hand like a loving dad but it’s all pretend, right?
I marched into Mathew Greyson's office demanding I get my last paycheck. Even if he let me go, I still deserve to be paid the hours I worked! Instead I get finagled into being his fake fiancé.
Putting my pathetic high school drama skills to test, My children and I need to convince Matt’s parents that we are in love. And excited to become a complete family.
Shopping sprees and makeovers done! We are ready for the best performance of our lives.
But our late night talks before falling asleep in the same room are way too comfortable. And when I cling to him on his Harley I feel a long lost stirring in my soul. Then when I watch him interact with my children, with so much joy, it melts my heart so quickly.
It’s crazy to think that the insensitive man that fired me is the same man I’m falling for. I wanted nothing to do with him but now I can’t imagine life without him.
Fake Fiancé to My Boss is a sweet, clean romantic comedy with family drama and laughter.
I really enjoyed this book. From the beginning it is really entertaining and keeps going to the end. The wannabe fiance is quite funny and can't get it through her head she isn't the one. Highly entertaining and I really recommend this book.
An endearing wonderful clean romantic story line that will have you smiling, chuckling and tearing up throughout. Matthew Greyson is a billionaire who just fired Sarah a single mother with three young children, Lily 8, Isaac 6 and baby Scarlett one month. The story starts out when Sarah with her children in tow goes up to Matthew's office to demand the last two weeks of pay he didn't pay her and she felt she more than deserved. With her kids tearing up his office being kids, Matthew receives a phone call from his mother. He is trying to get his mother to help approve a special project he is working on. But the caveat is that he is engaged and getting married. During the phone call, Matthew's mother hears Sarah's children in the office. So, the phone goes on speaker and Matthew introduces Sarah and her kids to his mother and his ex-girlfriend, Vanessa who just happens to be with his mother. BUT he introduces Sarah as his fiance ! Uh Oh. Then, Sarah passes out, seems she's a diabetic and needed her insulin. Matthew called his secretary, Amanda, in to help and she was incredible. She took charge of Sarah's children while Matthew followed the ambulance with Sarah to the hospital. With Matthew's mother and father coming bringing tag-along Vanessa (Matthew's Ex who thinks she should be marrying him) and waiting to meet Sarah and the kids, he is in trouble. So, he bargains with Sarah offering a lot of money to her to pretend to be his fiance. Now the fun begins! This is the background to the whole story so no spoilers here! This book will take you through every emotion possible until the end and then... This book is a must read if you love beautiful, fun cozy clean romances. I received and ARC of this book but the opinions expressed here are strictly my own.
Excellent work! This book has everything. Romance , anxiety, regret, remorse, love, hate , loyalty, jealousy, love ( did I say that one? Well there’s plenty ) Witticisms , and laugh out loud belly laughs . It’s endearing thanks to her illness and the children Scarlett the baby at one month old , Lily the eldest and then Isaac the man of the house. Sarah charges into her ex bosses office demanding her last pay check and she’s not leaving without it ! Matthew Greyson is about to refuse when he’s interrupted by a phonecall patched through by his new secretary Amanda . It’s his mother and she’s is insistent on him finding a wife to get his inheritance and she is with just the person his ex Vanessa. Put on the spot he introduces his Fiancée Sarah…..This plays out with hilarity ,trust and a little bit of I hate you and this is just business air to it. What can go wrong right ? When she sees the softer side of him with her children and he actually can smile , does she think she underestimates him or trust her instincts. Will they won’t they romance at it’s best and those children are just too adorable . I received an advance copy of this book and my review is in my own words and voluntary
Sarah is a single mom of three, recently fired by her boss because he's something of an ass. She storms the office, with her children in tow, to demand he release her final check. In the middle of that Matt accepts a call from his mother, leading us into the surprise engagement that he thrusts upon Sarah, killing two birds by providing a reason to compensate her AND get his mother off his back. Maybe. Over the course of time, attempting to pull the wool over his parents' eyes, Matt and Sarah find out there's another side to the person they each thought they despised.
I thoroughly enjoyed this story. Matt and Sarah are wonderful characters, and Sarah's children are well developed [as are all side characters in the story]. Loved Gemma, Matt's dad, the women in Matt's office, Ms Coleman from the school, etc. The ending is bumpier than the rest, and I'd have given the book 5 stars if it was as good as the rest of the book.
I received a free copy via BookFunnel and my review is voluntary.
Sarah marches into her ex-boss's office demanding her last paycheck. She needs it to support her three kids. Matt is on the phone with his mother about her upcoming visit- along with his old girlfriend Vanessa. Matt doesn't want to deal with Vanessa and without thinking tells his mother that Sarah is his new fiance. Then he hurries his mom off the phone and suddenly realizes what he did. How is he going to explain this? He make Sarah an offer that appears too good to be true- move in with him and play his fiance and he will give her an extra 6000 dollars. Sarah can use the money so she agrees, but they couldn't stand each other when working together, how are they going to pull this off? You're going to have to read the book to find out if they can survive each other. I was given a copy of this book for my honest review.
A Sweet Romance This is a very sweet, enemies to love romance. Matthew and Sarah really despise each other in the beginning! He had fired her and withheld her last two weeks of pay. This resulted in her showing up at his office (with her three young children) to demand that he pay her. During this entertaining confrontation Matthew’s mother calls and he spontaneously informs her that they are engaged! To say the least this is the beginning of their adventure. And what an adventure it is! From the complications of an illness to a vengeful woman trying to break them up. There where laugh out loud moments throughout the story. The children are adorable, and the characters are believable. Ms. Rose’s use of wit, humor and storytelling resulted in a sweet romance that is sure to be a hit.
This book is a beautifully written dual perspective clean romance.
I fell in love with this family. Sarah and her kids were absolutely adorable and I love how real the characters are. Between Sarah’s medical condition and being a single mom, you saw the true struggle and feelings of a single mom. As for Matt, I felt like you truly were able to discover who he was and what made his personality the way it was in the beginning.
Another fabulous book from Rose King. I can’t wait for the next one.
I received a free review copy of this book from the author. I was not required to leave a positive review. All opinions are my own.
this book was my 5th arc of march, and it was a great last read of the month. this book was really good, the plot was amazing. this book had less affection then i tend to like, but i liked the story. Matthew and Sarah started off hating each other, then they faked an engagement and through this pretend relationship, you really see them fall for each other. Matt is an amazing guy and his bond with Sarah’s kids is so sweet. The kids quickly warmed up to him and the five of them really started to feel like a family. if you love fake dating and found family this book is one i definitely recommend you pick up. 🫶🏻🫶🏻
A cute story that is enemies to friends with excess baggage! The family attached to both sides certainly makes for some interesting and funny circumstances. The kids were amazing playing their part in the charade. I found using Matt's title as Mr. Greyson (instead of his first name) got a little confusing at times, especially with his father in the household! It would have been less confusing if Sarah would refer to him with the name that she is saying in front of the family. The children were a delightful addition that made this story more interesting.
I love everything Rose King! Sarah gets fired from her job by her boss Matthew Greyson. Matthew wants to get his mother off his back to marry a family friend Vanessa. So Matthew hatches a plot for him and Sarah and her children to pretend to be engaged. Does this work? Can the children play along? Love the plot, great setting, and strong intense interesting characters.
Sarah worked for Matt until he fired her. She went to his office to get her final check. He gets a call from his mom pressing him about marrying Vanessa. He tells her he is engaged to Sarah. The kids were the highlight of the story. As Sarah and Matt navigate, the lie feelings seem to change.
Sweet enemies to love story with cute children’s antics included.
I enjoyed this enemies to love story. Sarah barges into Mathew’s, her ex boss, office with three children in tow to demand her last paycheck after being fired. She comes out of the office with a fake engagement to none other than the same Matthew that fired her.
So fun! That's how I describe this book. It was fun to read. Adorable, believable characters. A conniving family member and "friend." There were all the ingredients for a good love story.
I received an ARC and gladly leave my honest review.
He is her ex boss as he had fired her and she had three children While faking being a couple they fell in love but his mother q wanted another for his wife but love works A good story
I found the story to be fascinating. There were some editing issues but not large enough or numerous enough to detract from the story or make me lose track of what was happening.
This is my first time reading this author and I loved it! So cute and thoughtful and very real! The characters are so adorable and the children are so sweet with Mathew and his family. Totally delightful and I highly recommend this book. I am anxious for more from Rose !
I read the whole thing and the story idea was very cute but the editing was lacking. I think it could have been a great book with better editing and proofreading.
This was a clean romance, which is great. I appreciate that. However, it just didn't reel me in and I can guarantee it has most to do with the virtual voice since I did this one on audible.
