~ Dream Catchers ~

My favorite thing to do is dream. My dreams take me on exciting adventures; Sometimes they are so vivid and intense in detail, that I often feel like they are either replays from my past lives, or Astral projections of alternative realities.

Years ago, I started to keep a journal within arm's reach so that I can write my dreams down the moment I open my eyes in the morning. One day while reading through my dream journal entries, I realized that my dreams would make good plots for books. So, I set out on a mission to share my dreams with the world using my talent of writing.

I decided to start my own book company called, A.T.E Books, and under that imprint I have a collection that I call "Dream Catchers." These books are based off the dreams I've had in the past and the more I dream, the more books will be added to my Dream Catchers collection.

I also like to read! Urban fiction is my genre of choice, but I will give any book a chance to catch my attention and engage me. I only hope that others will give the books I write the same opportunity. My motto is "a good book will give your brain the massage it craves". I love experimenting with words and trying to write different genres of poems, novels and short stories.

Make Better Choices

This story was very interesting to read! It dives into self identity, mental health, relationships, morals, sexual health, friendships, betrayals, and more. This all in one story is definitely thought provoking. I like how the author tells this story from each characters point of view, with very realistic and relatable scenarios. It’s so easy to get caught up in the midst of things we desire. If you don’t make more intentional decisions after reading this then you’re just plain reckless.

Intriguing

Well written. Some of the plot twists I caught and a couple I missed. Half audible and the last half I read on KU. Messy with a lot of moving parts but cohesive. 4/5 stars. I LOVED the ending messages and resources at the end of the book- super responsible writing. Check the trigger warnings

Messy boots !

Okay I had to sit with this book a minute and let in sink in. When I tell you this book is messy as hell. Baby. It’s straight messy boots honey. I talked my husbands ears off about this book for the past few days and I know he was tired of me speaking about it. Listen. Run don’t walk to Amazon. I’m thinking about buying the physical copy that’s how messy this book is. Definitely a cautionary tale just make sure to check for trigger warnings. Oh Allen. That’s all I shall share lol

There is strong language.

The story follows various characters, including Allen, April, and Omar. This is a hard-hitting story with a lot of feelings of angst and emotional pain experienced by the characters featured. The story is thought-driven as well as thought-provoking, revolving around mental health. The book is also written in the present tense so readers read the narrative in real-time. A personal pleasant way to read since nothing in the future can be foreseen and readers learn what happens at the same time as the characters.

Great Triller!

"April's Fool: A New Age Thriller" is a dark and intense read that delves deep into the human psyche and explores themes of betrayal, revenge, and moral ambiguity. The protagonist, Allen, struggles with his inner demons and anger towards those who have wronged him. The novel is divided into several chapters, each offering a glimpse into the protagonist's troubled mind and his journey toward self-discovery. The first few chapters paint a vivid picture of Allen's growing anger and resentment toward those around him. As Allen's mental state deteriorates, the reader is taken on a rollercoaster ride of emotions as he contemplates revenge and deals with the voices in his head, represented by Yin and Yang.

As the story progresses, the focus shifts towards Allen's former best friend, Omar, who has married Allen's ex-girlfriend, Olivia. Omar and Olivia have a complicated relationship and their subsequent struggles with HIV and infidelity are particularly engaging and emotionally charged.

The writing style is raw and unapologetic. The author's ability to delve into the minds of the characters and portray their complex emotions and motivations is impressive. The use of first-person narration adds to the sense of intimacy and immediacy of the story, drawing the reader in and keeping them engaged throughout.

Overall, "April's Fool” is a gripping and intense read that will leave readers on the edge of their seats. It explores themes that are both universal and deeply personal, making it a thought-provoking and emotionally charged novel. If you're looking for a fast-paced thriller that will keep you guessing until the very end, this book is definitely worth checking out.

April's Fool: A New Age Thriller

I'm absolutely in WTF mode!!

I'm so glad I didn't miss the #braeevent this year!

Let me say this is not your average book. If you're looking for regular, repeated tropes and common trends - this ain't it! this book should be in a genre of it's own. It's a psychological thriller mixed with a contemporary fiction, mixed with IKYFL!!!

First off, Allen was a nut case. Totally insane. His thoughts and imaginations were just unacceptable. and strangely, I felt for him, I understood exactly how he felt. I had a friend steal my man from me, and some of those same thoughts traveled my mind - I wanted revenge but never got it. After reading this book, I'm in serious awe. The characters are well developed, yet the story line is troubling. I finished reading this in one day, and was thoroughly entertained through and through. Anetta satisfied my craving for a good book. This was just the right pace, and just the right type of storyline. It's easy to read and easy to follow, but the revenge plot..... like seriously?!

I don't want to spoil it for others, but my goodness. What was going through this author's mind to write a book like this? just sick and twisted, shocking and crazy!!

I can't believe this man went to this extreme get revenge, but all in all, he was already suffering an identity crisis, so I guess it all fit well into his grimey scheme, but dang! I never saw that ending coming, I never imagined! 10/10!!

Thank you #BRAE for introducing me such amazing authors, I can't wait to get into more

I enjoyed reading this book!

"April's Fool" by Anetta Tequila is a thrilling story of betrayal, revenge, and the consequences of one's actions. The story centers around childhood best friends, Omar and Allen, who are torn apart when they both sleep with the same girl.

Allen is a complex and troubled character, and the reader is taken on a tumultuous journey through his internal struggles. The use of first-person narration allows us to delve deep into his mind and experience his inner demons firsthand Allen blames Omar for his HIV diagnosis and losing the love of his life, and his fury towards Omar is palpable.

The book also touches on themes of infidelity, deception, and manipulation, as Omar struggles with his conflicting feelings for his wife, Olivia, and his mistress, April. The scenes are explicit and sensual, but they also highlight the moral conflicts that arise from betraying the ones we love.

The book is well-written, with vivid characters and a suspenseful plot that will keep the reader engaged until the very end. I highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a good thriller and is interested in exploring the complexities of human relationships.

A page turner from the start. Allen was so mentally unstable I was at a loss for words especially with the vision he was having. I never saw that plot twist coming though, and I felt so bad for poor Olivia -she dealt with blow after blow but still held Omar down after he snakes her. Omar kind of got what he deserved.but then again maybe not. He was Olivia's hero at the end of the day

great plot

This book was really confusing. There were a lot of moving parts and a lot of thoughts for one of the main characters. But even as I was reading the book I got super confused. I didn’t know what was going on and I feel like it could’ve been executed better.

Awesome

I really loved this book! It truly kept my attention. I didn't like Allen. Not one single bit. Mike was the realest one in this story. Omar was just selfish! In my opinion. This is definitely a page turning must read!
