MONSTER by Arielle Crowell is a very captivating and descriptive novel. This book takes the readers into the lives of gangsters in Richmond, Virginia. It is a story filled with love, lust, lies , deceit, and betrayal. As you continue to read, you will understand why they acted the way they did. You will be intrigued by how and what they did. The characters are well developed. You will find twists and turns that you did not see coming as you turn the pages to more drama.

Two of the main characters in MONSTER is Dominic and Christina. They are the children of the largest boss in organized crime, Romeo Calderon. Romeo's son, Dominic, is connected to the murder of a family member to his rival, Smiley. Once retaliation is in effect, the gang wars begin. Both of Romeo's children are tangled up in the war and certain things are uncovered as the gang war goes on. Christina finds out her family secrets and Dominic tries to be like his father.

MONSTER is a good read and is filled with action. I highly recommend this book by this new author. Congratulations, author Arielle Crowelle! Your writing skills help readers enjoy a good book!

Monster by Arielle Crowell is the story of Christina, the princess daughter of a major kingpin in Richmond, VA. Christina is not what one would call beautiful, yet still pleasing to the eye. Most men if anything want to get close to her just because of who her father is. Yet, when and if they get the chance to know her, realize that she is in a league of her own and does not want anything to do with the family business.

At a party Christina's father throws, she meets the handsome and charming Dutch. Although she was not very sociable when she first met him, maybe even a tad bit rude and stuck up towards him. Dutch still is intriqued with Christina, not knowing at the time who she is. Dutch's father notices his son's obvious interest in her though and decides to have his son get in good with Christina for his own personal vendetta against Christina's father.

Monster by Arielle Crowell is a story of love, lust and a whole lot of distrust. Although the author writes an engaging novel, I just found things to be a bit farfetched and unbelievable at times. The story starts at a slow pace and picks up just to go back to a lull later on. I think with a good developmental editor this story could have been better.

This book follows the chain of events that take place all over the city. It's not a bad read and interesting to see what happens next. Not really enough time to get to know the characters but you know enough based off what happens to them.
