Saying this now, this is a erotic horror with like tiny tiny amounts of dark romance. So take that as a warning. If you loved the horror movie Hush but without a killer to kill the lead, this is something you'll love!!

We don't know nothing much about these characters besides our female lead wanting to role play and have her boyfriend take charge and play a little CNC. If not, she wants to part ways and be done with him. So when an intruder does some delicious things to her and makes her purrrrr, she's over the moon.

Little did she know that wasn't her boyfriend... and that's all you're getting from this review and mini story.
I can't wait to see if the author writes more of these characters. No really it's 96% smut lol

a super short but very spicy and erotic novella. i LOVED this. Our FMC has a pretty “normal” boyfriend who doesn’t really prioritize her amongst his work and friends. she’s been meaning to break up with him but decides to have a last ditch effort to have some really kinky fun.

she decides they will do a scene that’s basically is a burglary/house break in. they have it set up and planned. The night finally comes and our mask intruder breaks in.

even though this is super short it still felt very well rounded as a story and left me wanting more because of that ending. i definitely had a feeling of how it was ending so i wasnt too surprised but it left me with so many questions because you can easily write a follow up novella to this with so many possibilities or even a great full length novel.

“No.” My voice was almost as raspy as his, mine from desire where his was formulated crackle.

This book gave me so much that I had no idea I even wanted. This is a super short, ravishment fantasy story and I just LOVED IT.

Our heroine is ready to dump her lame boyfriend, but gives him another chance to fulfill her fantasies. A mask. An agreed upon kink list.

Our...hero? I ate up his dirty talk. All the things he said 🫠 🫠 🫠 . As I started looking through the story for notes for my review I just reread the entire thing and enjoyed it just as much the second time around.

Some of the kink is not my favorite – I’m not into masochism and I’m a baby so knife play scares me lol but I still ate this whole novel up. I want more. More! Going to be checking out more from Michele too!

“Eyes up here, baby.” I looked up at him, reluctant to look away from the sight before me, but he lifted my chin, fingers clenched tight to keep my head tilted for him. “Don’t be a brat now, not when you’ve been so good.”

Overall: How I felt about it everything considered!
Readability: How ‘readable’ was the book? Did I fly through it? Did I have to tell myself to pick it back up repeatedly? Were any passages confusing? (I will probably score like (1) is literally unreadable due to formatting/typing errors, etc (2) There were lots of errors that made it difficult to read OR It was extremely confusing and I had to reread passages to make sense of it OR I disliked it so much I had to bribe myself to keep reading (3) I didn’t really want to keep reading and would have preferred to abandon the read and start something else OR some minor continuity issues/confusion (4) I liked it fine, maybe a minor error or 2. I was happy to pick it up when I had time. (5) I never wanted to put this down. I thought about it when I wasn’t reading it. I hid in the bathroom from my kids to read. I threw inappropriate food at my children for dinner so I could read instead.)
Feels: Totally subjective to each person but did the book give me any tingles? Any butterflies? Did it rip my heart out (in a good way?)
Emotional depth: How well do I feel I know the characters at the end? How much did I feel their emotions throughout the story?
Sexual tension: Again, subjective, but how strong was the wanting and longing to me between the characters? A book might have strong sexual tension without a single touch.
Romance: Was there romance? Did romantic things happen? This can be actions/words/thoughts of the characters and again is subjective.
Sensuality: This is how the intimate scenes are written. Kisses and sexual scenes – how sensual were they? Were they on the mechanical side? Was there emotional pull tied in? Were the details explicit or flowery? These are subjective but generally (1) too short to get a good judgement (2) not all what I'm looking for - very vague or flowery prose (3) either not explicit enough or not enough emotional pull (too mechanical/physically descriptive without the emotions) (4) what I love in a scene (5) absolute perfection - perfect balance of emotional longing and explicit descriptions
Sex Scene Length: How long the bedroom scenes are (generally (1) is 1-3 sentences (2) is a few paragraphs to a page-ish (3) is about average, a few pages (4) more well developed scenes, quite a few pages with descriptions (4) the majority of the book takes place in the bedroom. This is always hard to tell for me on audio!
Steam Scale: Generally, each flame is a scene. If scenes are super close together I sometimes combine them. If a scene is super short or so vague I don’t know what’s happening, I don’t count it. There’s some levels of grey but generally the number of flames is how many sex scenes there are (I max out at 5 so I’ll put a + after if there’s more than that)

What’s not to like about that. As long as you read the synopsis and know what your getting into it should be a fun read. My only complaint which is my eyes is more of a compliment is that I wanted more. So much more. Excited to give this authors full length works a go!

Allow me to set some expectations quick - this is a 29 page novella. It’s unhinged. It’s quick. It’s smutty.

And it’s DELISH.

I will say some parts of the spice were written so fast I was confused and had to reread and fill in the blank a bit.

This is an arc review but all opinions are my own.
I mean this was straight to the point smut and I absolutely loved it. It’s not my typical type of read with jt being more of a one shot than novella but I loved it way more than I thought it I would. By the end of it I was screaming thinking I need more! In the best possible way.
Ashley never misses with smut any kink she writes she does so amazingly.
This book definitely won’t be for everyone but for people that like straight to the point smut then you’ll absolutely love this!

I liked this book but I kind of expected more from it. I’m rating it 3 stars because I enjoyed it, it was super short and a quick read but it wasn’t that intense that I would expected just based on the long list of trigger warnings.

Lately I’ve been looking for horror and thriller vibes to go along with my pitch black romance, so as soon as I laid my eyes on Hush Little Baby, it was as though the heavens parted and divine light shone straight into my inbox. Let me first shamelessly admit that Ashley Michele could write a shopping list and I’d be drooling over it. So, erotic horror you say?! Sign. Me. Up.

This is a short little tease of a novelette where a couple plays out a home invasion fantasy to add some spice into their withering relationship. You know the deal, a masked/gloved man breaking in, chasing the helpless damsel in distress upstairs to the second floor (because that’s always worked out well), just to find her hiding under her own bed. Girl, you’re in trouble nowww.

In true Ashley Michele style, what ensues is kinky, depraved, and so disturbingly hot. The delicious tension could be cut with a formidable knife…and maybe it was *wink wink*. Regardless of the heaviness of the topics within, Ashley has this lighthearted and unfettered way of telling her tales – if I had to describe her writing in one word it’d be liberating. For fear of completely ruining the story, I’ll stop there. Just read it.

I need more. I need sooo much more. Ashley, PLEASE. PLEASE DON’T LEAVE A GIRL HANGING LIKE THIS.

Eh. It was alright. I felt as though the long list of TW’s were a little excessive as I was expecting something way more intense just from seeing those. The constant breaks in thought from nervousness almost makes it seem like it’s their “first” time.

“I couldn’t tell which-but the need to move my legs or they might fall off itched my skin.” -this quote made no sense to me at all, not sure exactly what you’re trying to say.

Overall, it was alright. The ending you could definitely see coming, a lot of it was just kinda unbelievable. Would recommend to those maybe trying out the smut/erotica genre.

When your main language is Spanish, and you find books that use slangs or some words 🫠 I hate it so much. Makes me cringe like you have no idea 💀 now you can imagine my reaction when I saw the word chocha = 🐱.

If you are looking for a porn "there's an intruder in my house" and want to ignore the 🚩red flags 🚩 until he leaves you sexually sated, this is for you 🤷🏽‍♀️. But stuff like this never fails 🥵🫠:

“Fuck, that’s a good fucking girl.” He slapped my face in quick succession, too close to one another and too fast to count but my ears filtered the sound through the sharp ringing. “You’re so fucking pretty like this, baby.”
