For me, this series should have stopped at book 3. Several things felt repetitive. There were conversations and subjects brought up that we had already discussed in the previous books. Felt a little drawn out. With an anti-climatic ending.

Wish I could be more positive ☹️

Happy reading,

Some rookie errors

I would like to give this book a 3.5 star rating. Little errors annoyed me, like Evan being called Eric, nine year old Pax only coming up Bryn's hip (?), and referring to himself as 'a big boy now'.

Book #4 in this shifter series. I liked some of the characters, but the 2 main characters were rather predictable and immature. AND there was just too much graphic sex in these books. I found myself skimming to get back to the plot. I don't need to read anything else by the author(s).

A nice, tidy ending to the series

This book wraps up the series pretty well. Of course the evil guy gets his comeuppance in the end, and our main couple lives happily ever after. Well, this IS why I read these silly romance books. . . but there was something missing here. Not sure I can put my finger on it.

There were some interesting characters, and I would absolutely read a book about the FMC's brothers. Both of them. The final 2 chapters are really more of an epilogue; 1 - 8 months after the events in the main portion of the books and the second one 5 years later. I LOVE when we get a peek into their lives later down the road. World building seemed ok. So I'm not sure why I just didn't feel a lot of emotion reading this series. And THAT'S what I'm craving. I want a story that sucks me in, twists me up and spits me out a pitiful shadow of what I was when I began. This is not that book, or series.

I really think that with some good editing, this story could have been told in 1 or 2 books. For Books 3 and 4, it felt like at least half the book was just filler. . . side plots that didn't really go anywhere or add much to the storyline. I could be wrong, that's just how I felt when I read it, and the reason for my 3 star rating.

Possibly the best book of the trilogy

First off, if you find yourself a bit of an emotional reader, make sure you read this book mostly alone or that you have tissues. At least be ready to lie about having allergies or something in your eye.

Twice, this book made me tear up. Thankfully, both times, I was in the comfort of my bed all alone! There is some loss of life in this book (it HAS been leading to a war, after all!), and the two times I was triggered to shed a tear, the author did a fantastic job to milk the moment to get me right in the feels. Thanks, Lindsey Devin. Thanks for that.

I didn't mind the first book, though I found it a bit on the lengthy side. That doesn't exactly make me like it less, I understood it was setting up the scene, the characters, the push-pull of the MC and FMC (Night and Bryn), etc, etc. The second was getting things into motion and showing the challenges of trying to get the Kings and Wargs pack to work together. This one wrapped everything up with a (mostly) neat little bow and concluded the story, including what happens in the future.

We saw strong character growth in mostly Bryn, but Night as well. We even saw it in secondary characters like Tavi, Lance, and characters from other packs.

There's a fair bit of spice in this book, so if that's your thing, you're set. Personally, I find myself reading more for the storyline and character growth nowadays, so I ended up skipping quite a few of the spicier scenes.

It's an interesting, somewhat unique wolf shifter romance with lots going on! I'll definitely recommend it to people wanting an MF shifter read.

This was a good end to the series of books, with a resolution to most of the plotlines, and the pacing was good throughout (though there were maybe too many bedroom scenes compared to scenes with relationship-building dialogue, or with other characters). I'm glad I read the whole series, as I felt that the characters and the ideas behind the Kings and Wargs and the divided packs were good.

Overall, the series started strong in book 1, felt lost in book 2 and then slowly got back on track in book 3 and 4, though it did feel like the story in book 1 didn't really coalesce with the rest of the books - so maybe the idea behind the overall plot changed during writing.

I just wish the editing had been better, because it was so jarring to keep coming across inconsistencies- I think it's probably less jarring if you don't read each book straight after each other but I found it so frustrating to be pulled out of the story each time I found the characters did or said something that opposed established lore, timelines or personalities.

horrible h/H relationships.

I love Lindsey devin books. I had out off reading this series cause it had a few books in the series and i was determined to read stand alone to
Help dwindle down my TBR. I finally got to it and i HATED it. I hated Bryn. So naive and dumb. All problems could have been solved with a bit of v!0lence on her part. Or her allowing someone to. There’s a time for compassion and there’s a time to put the many before the one. And all she kept doing was “oh no we can’t k!11 the one person who sl@ugh gets everyone, gr@ped my best friend, tried to gr@pe me, unalive me and my soulmate. No let’s just save him instead”. 😒

And night …. He didn’t respect Bryn in the relationship. Always hiding things from her. Even when she was alpha, he hid things free from her regarding HER pack. Tried to take over HER job as alpha.

None of it made sense of felt right. I was over it by the end of the 2nd book. I skipped to 70% for books 3&4. I read a book a day and this series took me a week and a half.

wanted to love it but…

It took along time to get to the end of this series. I have many critiques. While I like the world building this book had the issues of a web serial. Like the author didn’t know the basic outline of where she was going when she started and then wrote the book one chapter at a time over years. This lead to a lot of loose threads, and conflicting information. Then deaths that were supposed to be felt strongly by the MCs left me feeling like I missed something (when did these characters bond?) there wasn’t enough time given to differentiate side characters and give them their own personality. Is there supposed to be more to this series coming? Because I feel like there are quite a bit more questions and HEAs to give out before it is neatly wrapped with a bow. Also what kind of book ends with a funeral? I want to really like this series but it fell short to me.

Well, consistency is key although I'd hoped it wouldn't be

Suffice it to say, this last installment can be reviewed exactly as the previous two. A cute story executed poorly makes for a disappointing read, difficult to stay actively engaged yet curious enough to want to finish it. In all reality this series is 4 books total. There is a part 2 included within book 1 that contains just as many pages as part 1 of that book and both subsequent installments yet the page counter associated with KU doesn't acknowledge past page 491 which is only technically located at the 49% completed mark. While I'm sad to be disappointed with my overall experience reading this series, I am thankful I've learned the collective known as Lindsey Devin just isn't my cup of tea as to not get suckered into anymore of their cute plotlines that ultimately fall flat for me overall.

I like the world these authors have created, and the magickal systems are interesting, but the main couple are not particularly epic/heroic; Bryn's main adjective would be "oversexed." I was irritated at the replay of a previous event but enjoyed the opportunity it affords Tavi; yet again, however, Bryn does not show at her best. The highly anticipated to-the-death confrontation with Troy is woefully anticlimactic, and at first, Bryn's much-vaunted role in the final outcome is equally disappointing; however, time shows how pivotal her seemingly insignificant act is. The last few chapters basically serve as a rushed, info-dump of an epilogue that doesn't allow the reader to engage with the characters' experiences. I am ambivalent about "Ruling The Pack", but this final installment of the "Mated To The Night" series generally reads like a 3½-star missed opportunity.

Amazing ending

I have really enjoyed reading this trilogy. It was full of terrific characters, humor, drama, angst, mystery, suspense, and intriguing twists. It's certainly not to be missed!

I loved how the author brought this story to a close! I hate that it’s over and there’s not another chapter where we get Bryn, Night, Dom, Tavi, & Lance! Hopefully Lance gets a story and a mate!

I love Night! I liked Bryn and while I enjoyed their story, Bryn irked me quite often! They said, this author does an amazing job allowing the ebb and flow of character development for each character! It was so nice to see the growth throughout the storyline! Kudos to the author for writing such an amazing story!
I would definitely recommend this book, series, and outstanding author.

Good LONG Read

Let me pre-face this by saying I do not really like series, I definitely prefer a standalone, but I had read the first book before I realized it was series so I wanted to finish it. I really enjoyed the storyline and the characters. For those who enjoy longer detailed stories, this is the series for you! That was my only real complaint about the books, the story was too long and drawn out for me, but I did enjoy learning so much about other cast as there was greater detail about supporting characters than I’m used to reading. Overall I would recommend the series, just be prepared because it’s lengthy!

Bryn still frustrated me..

It was a wild ride!
I loved that Lance got to admit he was Bryn brother; Tavi/Dom getting together was great! When Night invited him for a run and he smelled Tavi on him.... I was excited. Yay for Tavi !!! Finally finding a version of herself that could move forward.
The ferals being the kids was a shocker and the memory rituals were amazingly written!
Mystery, drama, intrigue, suspense, violence and of course romance. Even the grandma's were finding love again!
I still found a few inconsistencies that were a bit much for this being book three.
Overall, I enjoyed this book most.

Night and Bryn . . .

Bryn’s mate has won the alpha challenge, which should unite the packs. But apparently he still have to prove he is capable or they won’t accept him. Bryn is pregnant with Night’s child and due to deliver soon. But the enemy alpha, Troy, is staying close by to take advantage of any weakness he can find. When Bryn tries to investigate the disappearance 10 years ago of pack children, she puts herself and her unborn baby in danger. Will Troy succeed in kidnapping her? Will Night step in to protect her? Can he defeat Troy?

The end

Last book in this series I got to say I was kind of sad it was over I loved the characters did not realise how much until the end. We end on a five years later so that's nice to see the outcome of relationships. I guess you could have the children 20 years later have a series just not with troy being the bad guy so will have to have a different main storyline.
This series was focused on night and his love interest plus the bad people in the king pack (mostly troy)
A good read

Enjoyable read

This was a well played out series. The characters were well adapted and the story was engaging. Although I love a good spicy scene, they became redundant and I just skipped over them due to them being a "filler" instead of crucial to the storyline. There were also a tiny few spots that were a little bit of a oversight I think. Like when she gave him a haircut before the fight then she ran her hands through his longer than normal hair when she was washing him. All in all, I would recommend this read.

Nice wrap up but a little confused

I like how this ended and wrapped everything up. No need for more books. But are the books mislabeled? I thought there was three but the cover says four?
Anyways, the story kept me interested but there was a lot of editing mistakes and inconsistencies of time. I do love the romance of Bryn and Night but wished we could have gotten a novella about Dom and Tavi. Some of the bedroom scenes could have been deleted. Didn't feel necessary to have an in-depth conversation and then sexy time.
Overall, I would read another series from the author.

A fitting end to the series. Night and Bryn continue their work to unite the packs and once Night becomes Alpha to the Kings they can go ahead with their plans. Troy and the feral wolves continue to attack other smaller packs. The mystery of the missing children is solved through Bryn's work with Samuel and the knowledge becomes a key part of destroying Troy. Lots of twists, turns and major surprises revealed until in the very end Troy is destroyed. Great read

Wooah. I can't believe I've come to the end. Although book 4 was a slightly more sedate pace there was still action. The secrets have all been spilled & worked through. The two packs have settled into life merged together & are intergrating with each other happily. Our main characters are going from strength to strength. I'm sad to say goodbye to them all. This was a really good series & I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Big claps!

Wow!!! I’m so adorably in love with the ending of this one. So much has changed and so much has happened. And not just to bryn and night. Tavi and Dom. Both mommas. Lance. Man that one threw me for a loop. Even the new characters that are introduced. But what a beautiful story with so many good lessons and just good feels. Don’t get me wrong, there’s a lot of heartbreak but it makes it so much sweeter seeing things play out how they did!

book 3

I do love a happy ever after. I can’t express how much this series means to me. Absolutely incredible and it also led me to a new author Lindsey Devin.
What an absolute journey these characters have been on, they became more than a family. Even with two main characters, it didn’t end with just them and that’s what I adore when you come across something so special like this series.

Highly recommend

Everything Tied Up

Everything was tied up nicely at the end of this book. I wouldn't mind a short about Lance and if he finds his person.
Overall, the series was OK, and it was hard at times to get through the reading. The repetiveness was annoying, and I skimmed some chapters because of it. But I enjoyed reading about Bryn and Night's story even though they weren't my favorite characters in the series.

7 Wows ~ Chaos to peace.

The greatest love story was Bryn and Night.🥰 Their deep love was the strongest which helped. With all the trials Bryn and Night had to face together was slowly working, but not until they dealt with Troy. Troy was the greatest burden all the packs trying to exist. Thank you so much Lindsey for your brilliant mind in creating this world. The characters felt like they were real people.

Disjointed and disappointing ending to the series

While I enjoyed the previous books in this series which were excellent apart from a few misses sections where they slipped into third person point of view, this book felt like it was written by someone else entirely.

The characters all began to feel incredibly one dimensional, the dialogue was stilted, and details spoon-fed to the reader as if it were targeting a much younger age bracket who can't pick up on subtext.

I am not sure why I kept going with this series to finish it as each book became more and more of a punish to read.
It was like teenagers playing at being adults. There were plot holes, inconsistencies in the magic system and world building. So many plot lines that some felt really rushed and other dragged on. I struggled with getting through this series, I guess I just wanted to see how it all ended but even then it was meh.

It was a decent one time read series

I really wanted this to end in the third book and I think the third book should have been summed up a little more and then fit this one into it. There were so many characters and at times it felt like people were introduced to make more story. As a whole the series didn't flow but it made out alright enough.

This book is number 4 in the series, and books 1-3 were all so much better. Each of those I finished in 1-2 days max, this one I honestly let drag out and struggled to keep coming back to. It had way too many pacing issues, so much fluff, and just didn’t keep up the same tempo as the previous 3 books in the series. I found myself speed skimming at the end just to finally get this over with.

It's A Wrap

XXX! Adult content, reader discretion advised. Bryn and Night are fighting for peace, fighting to right the wrong of their predecessors and bring a baby into this world safely. The end battle was brutal yet pleasantly short. The wrap up at the end was well executed. I did feel like there were so many sex scenes, it took away from the story and got old.

More about Bryn and Night.

Captivating storylines, with love stories, big bad wolves and a few battles. This book continues , then finalises the stories. Overall this book has been a winning book. Thank you Lindsay for details and extra details from other characters, all composed into a can't put down novel.
