Ella can’t remember what a good night’s sleep feels like. She can barely recall a time when her dreams were just dreams and her life wasn’t so unbelievably complicated.
The man she loved manipulated and betrayed her, her best friend was kidnapped by her childhood friend turned stalker, and her ability to dreamwalk means that her nights continue to be plagued by horrors that are all too real.
Her plan is to throw herself into her studies and ignore the man who broke her heart, but every time she turns around, Noah seems to be there. As much as she wants to forget about him and leave her feelings in the past, he’s making it impossible to keep hating him.
But while Ella can handle Noah, Brett is another story. She knows it won’t be long before he makes his next move. And this time, she doesn’t know if she’ll be lucky enough to make it out alive.
Maggie I. Fields lives in South Africa, but her heart remains in the US, where she spent time as an au pair. When she’s not writing, she’s usually reading, reading, or, alternatively, reading. She also occasionally does other things like spending time with her family and friends, listening to Taylor Swift on repeat, and investing in yet another bookshelf. But mostly, she’s reading. I really enjoyed! I loved Ella and Noah’s relationship. I normally don’t really like the miscommunication trope but for some reason I loved it. I was not a fan of the “twist” if that’s what it’s called. SPOILER!!!! But I feel like it was so obvious Noah was manipulated by Brett and Ella should have realized immediately. It diminished her characters intelligence in my opinion. Another thing I loved was how likeable Ella was. I thought she would annoy but I couldn’t get enough of her!
