Easton Island - Locke Meadow

Easton Island is the continuing saga of one woman’s journey from incredible loss to finding a past she knew nothing about, including a family who both embraces and fears her and a charming island that draws her in.

This inspirational series is for lovers of family sagas, mystery, and a touch of romance.

Morgan Easton’s journey continues as one chapter of her life ends and a new one begins. Morgan has settled into Easton Island life, and is getting up to speed with the family business alongside her half-brother, Brett. Meanwhile, her best friend Quinn is helping breathe new life into Easton Harbor Art Gallery.

While going through some of her mother’s artwork, she discovers a small portrait of her father and tries to return it to her grandmother. Morgan is surprised by her grandmother’s reaction, but when she finds out why, it’s Morgan who is shocked.

Working hard to fit in, Morgan is making new friends and finding her way. But not all the islanders are welcoming her with open arms and view her with suspicion and mistrust.

Will Morgan be able to win over the islanders and prove she’s there to help, or will recent revelations from her family’s past threaten her future on the island?

The Island has Secrets!

I love this series. It's an enjoyable easy read with just a hint of mystery and intrigue thrown in to keep the story interesting. In this newest book, we meet a few new island inhabitants while learning more and more about the past and the family that Morgan never knew. In the background, a mystery of occasional break ins and vandalism are mentioned which I'm sure will be answered soon. In the meantime, a romance between Morgan and officer Wyatt is developing as well as interest between Quinn and Rhett and, quite possibly, Ronni and Jax!!!!! There's definitely something in the air.

My only criticism is this book seems a bit more like a novella than a novel at only 159 pages. It takes only a few hours to read and you are waiting for the next adventure. It's a great story, though, and one I would recommend!!!!!

Another true winner!

I had given up reading for a short time, as I needed to get some things done around my house. I had started to read the Easton Family Saga Series several weeks ago and today decided to get back to The Easton Island series by one of my very favorite authors, Hope Callaghan. I am never disappointed in Hope's books and love her style of writing and most especially the fact that she writes Christian books with no violence and no bad language, but a mystery is always included! This series is no different and though I'm typically a very slow reader, I finished this fourth book of the series in less than a day! Anyone who reads all of Hope's books can count on wanting to get to the next one as soon as I finish the book I'm currently reading! I hope you're like me and can hardly wait to get to book five - enjoy!!

Easton Island Book 4 is wonderful!

Easton Island: Locks Meadow is the 4th book in this wonderful series! The characters are very likeable with room to grow. Morgan and her best friend Quinn live at Looking Glass Cottage. Morgan is getting to know her family better and her (boy)friend, Policeman Wyatt Dawson. Quinn and Morgan's grandmother Elizabeth are planning the opening of the Island Art Gallery. Morgan learns some info on her other grandparents. There is kind of an unresolved mystery. There has been vandalism at the airport and Morgan's dog Chester finds some lost keys. In the other books, the mystery is resolved but not this one, although it is minor. This is a very enjoyable book and series! #EastonIsland #HopeCallaghan

Easton Island is full of surprises!

I have enjoyed reading this series so much and look forward to each new book in the series. The characters in the Easton family are well developed and it’s nice to get to know them better with each book. Of course, there’s always one or two annoying characters to balance things out! Elizabeth and Quinn are planning the grand reopening of the Easton Harbor Art Gallery and Morgan discovers a few more surprises in her family history. I received a free ARC from the author and write this review voluntarily, hoping you enjoy reading it as much as I do!

Love Easton Island

Easton Island is full of surprises for Morgan Easton. She has a brother and a grandmother sher knew nothing about, and a beautiful home that her mother left to her. She is researching Easton Island with the help of some of her new friends and is finding some very interesting information. I can't wait to read the next volume in this series as I become engrossed in the story as if I am there. Hope Callaghan writes wonderful stories and I have read every book she has published, I believe, and every story is good!!!!!

Easton Island's Locke Meadow

Morgan has so much to learn about living on the island. I enjoy learning it with her. As she goes about the island, it's an amazing feeling I have.
Morgan learns about her past and who the people were, especially her mothers parents.
A ride on Wyatt's motorcycle and her grandmother opening an art gallery.
Can't wait for next in series.
This book was given to me by Hope Callahan. This is my honest opinion

Such a page turner!

I loved the continued character development & that there was so much to discover! I read this in 2 settings. I am so in love with this new series. It is so wonderful to see Morgan begin to settle with her family.but I am from Michigan & I have another home in Fort Myers...so I am even more interested. I can't wait to see what becomes of the Locke meadow & her other grandparent's history. The series is whimsical anc charming. Thank you Hope!

More mystery, more answers

I love this series!! Morgan is settling into life on the island. Quinn is helping to reopen the art gallery. Holy crap Elizabeth drives!! The only thing I would change would be how Morgan addresses Elizabeth. To me, calling her "Grandmother" is stiff, stuffy & feels like it's not personal or warm. I envision Morgan calling her "Grams". Anyway, I still love the series. Definitely a quick read. I'm ready for the next book!

“Your God has commanded your strength; Strengthen, O God, what You have done for us.” Psalm 68:28. New King James Version

Love that there is an opening Bible verse that is relevant to what the book’s contents are. 😁🙏🏼

Easton Island is a place I’d love to live. Callaghan makes it truly a magical destination. It’s not only the island itself, but the people that live there - they are warm and inviting, much like their island. 🏝️ ❤️

It is mentioned that Morgan will inherit a piece of property in December. She doesn’t know what that property is yet. She discovered Locke Meadow while researching Easton Island at the library. She found that Locke Meadow was the property of her maternal grandparents along with their estate that was nearly as large as the Easton’s current estate. Morgan and Quinn drove out to the Locke estate and found that it was no longer there - just foundation and a complete garage. Morgan hopes the property isn’t what she is to inherit on December.

I am certain readers know what property Morgan will inherit and I believe it is the huge yellow house that her grandmother said isn’t for sale when Morgan asked her about it.

Let’s see, what else happened? Umm, oh! Morgan went on a date that was pretty magical.
Ronni was found unconscious, unfortunately; however, the positive is that she was found in time. Sparks fly between her and Jax while she is at the Easton Estate. We’re all just waiting for the two to get together as a couple rather than rivalries. ♥️
Morgan shows her grandmother a painting of Rhett and when she tries to give it to her grandmother, her grandmother turns pale. She shows Morgan something shocking.

Next is book 5, “The Christmas Gift.” This must be the book that reveals what Morgan’s property inheritance is.

See you in my next review.
Deuces to your cabooses!! ✨🍑✨

A page turning story with a small town Lake Huron Michigan setting and a bushel of drama between diabetic Ronni and Easton Estate grounds keeper Jax., plus a romance between Morgan and Wyatt. Wyatt says cooking helps him decompress after work. I can relate. Home, where you belong with the people who love you. Will Morgan find her home? Many lovable characters (Mrs. Ansby and Morgan’s roommate Quinn and one annoying trouble maker - Morgan’s grandmother sister-in-law, Pricilla Finkpin.) As a Michigander, I am pleased at all the Michigan tidbits included in the story – especially the wild life: deer, coyotes, bob cats, porcupines, racoons, foxes, skunks and bears – oh my! Mosquitoes and Vernors ginger ale. A page turning who mystery romance with relatable characters, twist and turn plot, and a believable resolution, plus foreshadowing about Morgan’s inheritance. Delicious Canadian Butter Tart recipe included.

Locke Meadow

Morgan stood at the edge of an unfolding mystery, her understanding as fragile as morning mist. The airport buzzed with an undercurrent of tension, local law enforcement seemingly stalled in their investigation. Quinn struggled against an inexplicable pull toward Brett, while a newfound friendship offered Morgan a glimmer of hope and connection amid the swirling uncertainty. had a few failed friendships she's hesitant to show her feeling and a motorcycle ride is really fun and finds herself still getting deeper involved and the art gallery is now open and yet she's a little nervous waiting for the next shoe to drop.

Lock Meadow

I really enjoyed this book. I wish I could live in a cottage like the one the girls lived in. I loved the Christmas tree part where there was an animal inside the tree. I can see that happening ! And the snow falling was really picturesque. And the girls trying to drive in the snow. That would be me. The mystery continues and I’m waiting to see what it is, and hope the husband doesn’t shoe up. He’s a trouble maker. I also love the Grandmother. 💕

This series just keeps getting better and better. I love that Morgan found the island and family that she can be with. That’s so important. And it sounds like such a beautiful island. Can’t wait to delve more into Easton island 🏝️.
Although I felt like the book, just slipped through my fingers, I read it so quickly! 🥰 Loved it. Must read.

You Had Me From The Start

I don't know about you, but I become a part of the world created by an author. The characters capture my heart. I talk to them while I am reading their stories. Easton Island has become a second home for me.
The books are not typical mysteries, but a family saga that has so much left to tell. I await the next one eagerly.

The plot thickens. The book hosts a lot of history and a vibrant present with rich character development. It has an element of mystery and is a good Christian read. I like that Morgan prays a lot. It. Has been a pleasure getting to know the characters and plot. I look forward to the next book in series..

More secrets revealed on Easton Island!

Morgan is indeed making a home on Easton Island, while more and more secrets are revealed about the family she never knew. Some of those secrets could potentially rock Morgan's entire world to the very core. Can she find the strength to deal with them and forge ahead to make a knew life in the place that is now her home?

“the end “

Soooo… okay. I get it… Ms. Hope is a good writer. There’s a lot going on in this book in the series. I suppose the ‘wrap up’ of the series will be in the next book. But, “ the end”? I’m not sure that’s the best transition for the next book.
That being said, Ms. Hope’s books are easy reads, & not stressful at all.
So.
The end.

We are definitely in to "discovery mode" in this book. It's basically a review of things Morgan is discovering about both the Island and the inhabitants. It's not very fast paced but quite a bit is discussed. A few things happen with Ronni, Wyatt, and Elizabeth. Quinn is settling in and winter is approaching.

What a delightful book! This continues the story of Morgan, who is continuing to learn about her family. The story also sets up the next book as there are several cliff hangers. This is a series to be read in order.
