Sinfully Ravishing Billionaire #4

Captivating the Savior

Rate this book
Can the savior be saved?

Gabriella

When I was four, my mother left me with my father - a capo for the Kansas City Mafia. And his hate for her transferred to me. I'd escape, but he keeps me in line with an iron fist and a gilded cage - without the luxury of gold-painted bars.

And then a beast of a man comes to my rescue. Is he the big bad wolf or the answer to my prayers?

Hunter

I'm no one's hero. I proved that when I didn't protect my girlfriend or my sister when they needed me. And now, I live with the consequences.

Gabriella is everything I'd look for in a woman, but I'm not looking. I can't risk putting her life in my hands.

But what if the situation is already out of my control? Can I save her before it's too late?
This novel is a spicy, contemporary, romantic suspense story between a billionaire disguised as a mechanic and the much younger daughter of an abusive criminal. This book contains darker topics that might not be suitable for all readers.

Book four in the series brings Gabriella and Hunter's story. It's a well small town romance with a bit of mafia/billionaire storyline. The author does a great job developing the story and pulling me in. I loved their banter and watching the relationship grow as they come together with their strong connection and chemistry. They have their ups and downs but love overcomes all. Great read.

I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book. All opinions in this review are my own and freely given.

Author decided to rewrite history of her MMCs and failed at trying her hand at mafia/action. She also doubled her word count so expect full chapters of driving a car or opening a can. Only thing she did right was got rid of the dumbass break up scene

"Potato-potato-potato. Crack. Boom. Potato-potato-potato. The rhythmic thumping of a motorcycle as it slows near the intersection combines with the strike of lightning and boom of thunder."
WTF? Just what in the actual fuck is the author even trying to say lol

"He slips one of the ears of the sunglasses"
Ears? That's new lol glasses don't have ears. And motorcycles don't say potato lol

“You stopped twice along the road on 10th and 8th Streets.”
If he knows this then he also knows she turned around and went back to the store and that both stops were short stops

"He’s my father’s boss’s son."
A couple paragraphs up on the exact same page said his boss was actually the son proofreading isn't that hard yall. Heck I even proofread my comments lol

“Sweetheart, I know everything you do. Everything from forgetting my eggs and needing to go back"
She didn't forget the eggs, she cracked one and she told him this

At the beginning of the book Hunter says his ex was always stepping out on him with other men and that’s why he doesn't do relationships. He says this quite a few times. But on page 76, he tells us that he wasn't there when she needed him and now she's dead. This author doesn't seem to be getting any better and she's making her stories longer. Book 1 was repetitive and there were a few inconsistencies, but each book is getting worse with both. I almost don't care that she doesn't care enough about her readers to give us August's book

“And because of that, I don’t put myself in positions where another person depends on me. That way, I never let them down, and no one gets hurt.”
Except his four best friends and his sister? Oh and the people the live in all his shelters. It's like the author forgets how close the friends are when she wants to make the guys balk at relationships lol she's definitely fond of unnecessary drama so she can whip out that tiresome 3rd act break up that so many authors are foolishly fond of. Guess she needs more than repetitiveness and unnecessary words to up the page count lol

"Wren grabs my upper arms and shakes my shoulders. “It’s always like that. You’re rich. She’s poor. You’re softhearted. She’s a calculating bitch. You know what family she grew up in. You know what they’re capable of doing. What she’s capable of doing. She’s learned to manipulate from the best. Do. Not. Fall. For. Her. That’s the worst thing you could ever do.”
Wren is a dumbass. What makes her think that someone in the MAFIA is poor lol gawd she's the worst

"My parents have been together for over fifty years" so they waited over 20 years to have kids? This author drones on and on about women at 35 can't have babies but his mom was in her 40s before popping out kids.

The FMC claimed her grandmother lived with them from when she was 4 to 13. She also tells us her father beat her her whole life. Yet grandma is shocked when she finds out...

“I guess we owe you 400k. I wasn’t expecting you to win.”
Hunter was tge only guy to tell his girl he was a billionaire so he doesn't win. Plus Maverick caved faster than any of them.

"Jagger, one of my other friend’s brother’s, is a detective for the local police force."
No he isn't. He works for a security company. He has a friend on the police force

"Jax is driving with Cade in the other passenger seat."
So the driver's seat is a passenger seat? Lol

This book seriously should have been half the length. Especially since she claims to write short stories. She sucks at trying to make longer books

"Truman shoves his hands into the pockets of his BDUs."
Wtf is a BDU?

had to stop reading at 42% and write this

This book went WAY over the line……
Major trigger ; talking about drugging unsuspecting woman (fmc) with plan b…..
Mmc sister who runs his abused women’s charity showed up to his place to “save” him from the “gold digger “ without even meeting the girl or really hearing about her.
Sister just assumed fmc was up to no good. Yeah, the 19 year old sheltered abused girl who the mmc just took the virginity of with no protection was the one up to no good . 🙄
So sister shows up immediately asks mmc “did you sleep with her with protection” and when she sees mmc look guilty she literally says “where are there some plan B around here. I’ll slip one in her drink and at least you won’t have to worry about that….” And she wasn’t joking. She was “protecting” Her rich brother from a possible child with fmc. btw mmc is like 10 years older than the 19 fmc….. Sick. 😵‍💫😵
The next morning mmc talks to fmc and mentions what sister said and fmc freaks out (rightly so) and tells him she has to leave because she doesn’t feel safe. Yeah, admitting that your family member wants to unknowingly drug a young woman with possible severe side effects would make anybody in your house feel unsafe!!
Then sister follows her up to the guest room and proceeds to tell her that she overheard the conversation and thinks fmc is “perfect” for her brother?????? That her brother never would have agreed to it anyways. Yeah the same brother who told the sister “I’ll just take the (hypothetical) baby away from her and raise it on my own”???????
What in the holy h&ll did I just read????? I thought the men of this series were pro female and pretty good guys till now??????
I’m pro choice, CHOICE…. This author casually writes a mmc sister as wanting to slip a plan b to unknowing female?!!!!!!!!!!!!! And the sister runs abused women’s shelters??????????
Author… you do realize that using that thought of the sister in the book what your encouraging ????? That its ok to force plan B on unknowing women if it’s for a good reason?
Im disgusted, like truly disgusted for once and I’ve read over 4000 KU books and let me tell you some of those books have been dark and shady to the max. At least with those books you know everything in them is morally wrong up front and have trigger warnings . But to have you slip this in a regular romance novel?? And from a so called ok secondary character not even a villain? What weight are you giving to that evil thought the sister had!!!!
Edit this out your next edit go round, like seriously think about it…… do better be better.

Roadside Assistance

I love the basic premise for this series! A bunch of rich dudes are tired with their Vegas lifestyle so they head for the heartland of America, specifically Kansas City (not sure if it's MO or KS, but that's irrelevant), to live in obscurity for a while. They're supposed to leave their lavish lifestyles behind and try to live like average Joes. With the same starting point, the timelines throughout a good portion of the series overlap (no spoilers to worry about).

This time, we follow the fall of Hunter Montgomery. His woe-is-me shtick wore on me, so I was happy when people called him on it, and he found a different tune. I liked just about everything else about him. I really love his relationship with his sister, Wren, parents, and friends. He gets a little short-tempered on occasion, justifiably so many times, but their relationships are strong enough that it's barely a blip.

Then there is our ingenue, Gabriella Marchetti. I love when she finds her footing. It may have been thrust upon her, but she finds a way. I really like how she quickly realizes how she prefers the power exchange to work between her and Hunter, despite how her father controlled her every movement. And I really love how they explore many facets of a D/s relationship, even as they fight for Gabriella's freedom.

“Oh, no, you don’t.” Her eyes flash with anger. “You’re not treating me with kid gloves. I refuse to let that man ruin anything else. I agree that I stink and need sleep. And I am starving. But after that, you’re going to do all kinds of dirty things to me. Or I’m telling your mom.”
-- Gabriella Marchetti 😂😂

I labeled this a slow burn because more than 200 pages pass before things get naughty and downright dirty. Don't worry, there's still A LOT of action to warm things up! 🔥🔥🔥

I've gotta be honest. When I first grabbed this, I didn't realize it was nearly 800 pages (78 chapters plus prologue and epilogue)! Not at all what I was expecting, and it felt a little overwhelming, especially considering the books that brought me into Alexia's world used to be far less than 100 pages. Don't get me wrong, it's a good book. It just came with size shock. (That's what she said! Sorry, I couldn't help myself.)

The Sinfully Ravishing Billionaire Series book #4

Next in the series is Gabriella Allegretti and Hunter Montgomery's story.

Gabriella is 19 and lives with her abusive father who is a Mafia Capo. Her mom left when she was about 4 and her father has always told she was no good, ugly etc to where she has no self esteem and doesn't trust anyone. She is taking college classes wanting to be able to get out from under her father's rule and his house.

Her car gets a flat tire and she is trying to change it when a guy on a m/c stops to help. She's wary of him but finally allows him to help her. Being late getting home she suffers abuse again.

After several issues happen to her, her father throws her out of the house. She has no place to go so she goes to the mechanic's shop and Hunter finds her hiding out and beaten.

Hunter is a billionaire who with several of his friends decided to leave Las Vegas and move somewhere where no one knows them and they live an ordinary life. He owns a mechanic shop and enjoys working on cars.
He sees Gabriella on the side of the road and stops to help her.

When she shows up to his shop he's shocked at what she has been through and decides to help her. She moves in, is in fear of what her father will do to her and Hunter but she doesn't know anything about him and his power to do what needs to be done.

This book focuses on Gabriella and Hunter and how they grow close to each other and him keeping her safe. Several incidents happen which makes Hunter want to kill her father.
Now they need to find evidence to bring her father down.

4 stars
I enjoyed the story but thought it was too long. For me this one was much darker than the others in the series.
There is triggers--abuse, talk of rape, that can be hard for some to read.

A Connection Worth Fighting For -
Gabriella had suffered so much at the hands of her mafia dad, that she didn’t trust anyone, so when she needed help and Hunter stopped to help her, she tried to send him away. However, when her father kicked her out, she run to Hunter for help. Hunter had given up on all types of relationships because of an incident in his last, but the moment he met Gabriella, he felt an inexplicable connection with her that shook him to the core.

What Gabriella and Hunter didn’t know was that their meeting was the beginning on a mind blowing journey, filled with angst, suspense, chaos, steamy sexual encounters, violence and kidnapping. Gabriella may have been meek when she was growing up, everything changed when she was with Hunter, which not only made fight for the life she wanted, but was able to thaw Hunter’s frozen heart. Fortunately, going through all of these issues brought them closer together and led them to work together for a fulfilling and happy forever life.

This was an emotionally intense and gripping story, that had me hooked from the beginning, whilst I eagerly turned the pages anticipating whether they were going to get their happily ever after. I am so happy I read it on a Sunday, as I found it difficult to take a break until I finished reading the book. It is a fascinating story, that you will definitely want to read.

This was am amazing book! Not that I would expect anything less from Alexia...🤩 Hunter and Gabriella were wonderful, well-matched characters, and the background provided a great insight into their thoughts and actions. His sister, Wren, along with the guys, played pivitol roles and provided much needed comic relief when the situation arose.

My heart broke for what both Hunter and Gabriella had to endure, and were still suffering for. His may have occurred in the past, but the effects were haunting his present. As for her, the abuse her father felt entitled to reign upon her was atrocious, vindictive, punitive, and pushing sadistic. Gabriella's ability to remain positive, upbeat, and optimistic is a testament to good overriding evil.

Watching these two struggle with acceptance was a rollercoaster for the emotions. Having insight to their internal dialog gave readers knowledge of insecurities they were tough enough not to show externally. Though you wonder how it might have been different if they had verbalized them instead of dwelling on them. I will say that, despite their hesitations, the intimate scenes were so incredibly hot 🔥 🥵 😍! If you have read other books by Alexia, you know what I mean...she didn't disappoint!

I received an ARC from Alexia, and happily provide this review. Grab your copy and cuddle up for a steamy, action packed read. Happy Reading 📚

Gabriella, the female lead, has been abused by her father, a senior Mafia man, since her mother disappeared when she was a small child. Now an adult, she’s been planning her escape, but she’s shocked to find Hunter, the male lead, more than willing to help her.

Hunter has sponsored women’s shelters and provided assistance to many people over the last decade but he hasn’t built a personal relationship because he hasn’t trusted. He finds himself attracted to Gabriella as well as wanting to help her. But her father isn’t willing to just let her go…

This story is dual POV, well written, and an erotic contemporary romance between a man with a savior complex and a woman escaping abuse. I enjoyed Gabriella’s spirit and resilience and her willingness to continue fighting. I enjoyed Hunter’s genuine compassion for the hurting as well as his capacity to discern that he felt more than sympathy for Gabriella. I enjoyed their intimate scenes and the trust that was built through them, as well as Gabriella’s interest in trying new things. I enjoyed the banter and the importance of family as more than biology.

Latest instalment in the ‘Sinfully Ravishing Billionaires’ series. What I enjoy about this series, is that all the books can be read as stand-alone, and in any order. They all start with a sort of prologue explaining how these jaded guys need a fresh start/challenge and re-locate to Kansas City to pursue their own ‘thing’. This book focuses on Hunter and his new ‘life’ as a vehicle mechanic. I really enjoyed the fact that this story has a darker, more suspenseful flavour than the others, with innocent Gabriella trying to escape the cruelty and domination of her vile, mafia father. Both the main characters are extremely likeable, with Hunter being a big romantic softie under his hunky tattooed exterior, and Gabriella – although young – finds depths of strength even she didn’t know she possessed. I loved the, sometimes rocky, path to their HEA. My only hesitation in giving 5* was that there was a bit too much dom/sub by-play between Hunter and Gabriella for my tastes; but each to his own if that is your thing.

i read this book as part of an arc program. This is the story of Hunter and Gabriella. Hunter is a billionaire and he and his friends decide to go to Kansas City and find love, but keep their financial situation secret. Hunter opens a garage and finds himself busy being a mechanic. Gabriella is the daughter of a mobster and he rules her with an iron fist. When they cross paths, Hunter thinks it is strange how upset Gabriella is over being a little late getting home. When Gabriella realizes her father is in trouble, she knows he will use her to save himself, so she runs, and finds herself with Hunter. Hunter wants to protect Gabriella, so he asks for help from his friends. Hunter is scared he will fail Gabriella because of his past. I really liked Hunter, i think he was a great guy, but he blamed himself for things that were not his fault. I love how Gabriella and Hunter grew their relationship and how the really loved each other. Another good one.

This is the 4th book in The Sinfully Ravishing Billionaire series featuring the sweet and steamy, suspenseful romance between Hunter and Gabriella. Hunter is a possessive billionaire who has a hero complex and he carries guilt because he thinks that he's failed his sister and his girlfriend when they really needed him. Gabriella is the daughter of an evil mafia Capo who couldn't accept that his wife left him so he takes out his hatred for her on their daughter who looks like her mother so he keeps her on a short leash. Then Hunter shows up is he an enemy or is he the answer to her prayers? You really need to read this sweet and steamy, suspenseful romance to see what happens. I would recommend reading this book.

Excellent story, right balance between torrid romance and violent mafia background
4.5
I really liked this new part (which can be read independently of the others), about these rich men who fled Las Vegas to offer themselves, on condition of anonymity, a new life.
Here, we follow Gabriella, a young woman who depends on her mafia father, and Hunter who, without knowing it, will help her after several encounters until he gets closer to her. The story is both torrid, but also quite violent by the mafia side of the story, by the family and the entourage of Gabriella, victim since her childhood, of her father.
I think the title is very well chosen, where the one who saves the other is not always the one we think.

3.5 stars – A good read but too long
I’m really enjoying this series of Vegas billionaire businessmen settling in Kansas City for a quieter life (ha!), and Hunter and Gabriella’s story has some great elements to it.
They meet when Gabriella’s car breaks down when she’s running an errand for her controlling, abusive father. Hunter stops and saves the day and continues to save her throughout the book.
The story is about getting her away from her Mafia Capo father and the life he surrounds her with and is full of Ms. Chase’s trademark hot as hell sex scenes (and toys from the Ultimate Boyfriend Company)
The downside for me was I felt it was way too long and repetitive. Would have been perfect about 250-300 pages shorter!

Wow! I loved Hunter and Gabriella’s story. I loved their banter and the sassy attitude. These two characters were well rounded and relatable. I loved how after the first couple of meetings that Gabriella got her backbone and became the strong woman she was. I loved that Hunter finally overcame the feelings of guilt he had over Mariah and fully embraced his love for Gabriella and showed her his unconditional love and protection against her father. There is a HEA for this couple. A really good story with lots of steam between these great characters.

Mafia meets billionaire with a hero complex makes for a great small town romance! This covers what I feel is so many genres. It was a fun read with heat and heart. There is a lull but it fits perfectly with the story line because they cants find someone. The main character is strong but doubts her self which I feel is on par for a person who has been abused for years. Hunter is going along with a crazy idea his friends lay out when he finds a damsel in distress who doesn’t want his help. He’s perplexed by her and so she kind of just plants herself in his mind. Their meetings are filled with drama that only drags him in deeper.

Hunter and Gabriella both have tragic pasts. She has a controlling father who happens to be part of the mafia whereas Hunter lost the woman he loves and hasn't been able to move on that is until he meets Gabriella. Her father gets himself into some serious trouble, but it doesn't stop him from abusing his daughter. Hunter comes to her rescue and their journey begins but when Gabriella doesn't listen, she finds herself taken and in trouble with her father. Will Hunter get to her in time before her father ends her life.

I received this as an arc from the author and I’m voluntarily leaving my honest review.

This was an amazing age gap romance. It was the type of story that just captivated me from start to finish. The story had more darkness than the rest of the series and readers needs to be mindful of that. And though it’s apart of a series it is not necessary to have read the previous books to enjoy this, it works perfectly well as a standalone.
I loved the way the romance developed between Gabriella and Hunter, they had such a strong connection and amazing chemistry. Their story was a bit to the kinky side but I loved it.

I have read a few books by Ms Chase and I have never been disappointed and although this is my first book in this series I found it captivating and very enjoyable. Gabriella and Hunter were just beautiful together and their story drew me in with their undeniable connection and chemistry. I loved Gabrielle’s strength even though her childhood was not the best and she has been planning to get away from her father and Hunter was the man to help her and enable her to move on. A great read by Ms Chase that will leave you wanting more.

Really liked Gabrielle & Hunter's story & couldn't put it down once I started. When her car broke down she was desperate to get back to avoid the wrath she was going to endure at the hands of her mafia father she refused help from a passerby but eventually she relented not knowing this wasn't going to be the only time he would save her. It had suspense, drama, pain, dark secrets, kidnapping steamy & at times emotional. Together with his wonderful friends & family Hunter was determined to keep Gabrielle safe & free her from her father with the hope of them having their happy ever after.

Gabriella was a young woman whose mother left when she was a girl, leaving her to be raised by an abusive mafia-connected father, who took his frustrations and hatred for the mother on his child. Hunter is a billionaire masquerading as a regular guy in a small town, and helps Gabriella escape the abuse of her misogynistic father, allowing her to become a shining beacon of light, helping Hunter overcome his past, where he believes his sister and girlfriend's fates were his fault...a steamy read like all of Alexia's stories with lots of action...I voluntarily read this book through an Advanced Reader Copy.

Hunter wants to get away from Vegas and everyone knowing who he is. Gabriella lives a rough life under her father's control. They meet when she gets a flat tire and Hunter stops to help her. When things go out of control in her life its Hunter that she turns to. Hunter wants Gabriella but he also wants to protect her. Will more grow between them while he is helping her?

This is an amazing story that once I started it I couldn't put it down. This is a well written and very entertaining story. Its a book that any book lover would enjoy.

Tired of Vegas and the hoopla that went along with their wealth and fame, Hunter and his friends move to Kansas to live in anonymity. Gabriella is the daughter of a mafia capo and lives a very strict life. Riding home one day, he sees Gabriella stranded on the side of the road. He stops to help. While neither admits it or can do anything about it, both are taken with one another. Thru fate, they keep running into each other. When she gets into a difficult situation, he is the one she runs to. I throughly enjoyed reading this book and look forward to reading the rest of this series!

This book is a book not to be missed. It is about Gabriella and Hunter. It is part 4 of the series, and whilst it could be read on its own, it is better to read them in order. Gabriella is a young, innocent, daughter of a mob capo and Hunter is a billionaire in hiding and working as a mechanic. It is an addictive read that I couldn’t put down. It had lots of very hot and steamy scenes. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book.

After being abandoned by her mother Gabriella bears the brunt of her dangerous father’s wrath. She knows she needs to escape but she didn’t expect help to come in the form of a sexy mechanic.

After being unable to protect those he loved the most Hunter tries to help others as penance. When Gabriella comes into his life, he is more than willing to assist but he wasn’t prepared for her to break through his walls and show him what he has been missing.

Suspense, romance and all the feels as Gabriella and Hunter finds themselves embarking on the adventure of a lifetime.

Gabriella fears her father, for he is a horrible violent man, who has a taste for treating her bad. She would love to be free of him, luckily her luck is looking up, when Hunter crosses her path and helps her change her tire. Hunter is over all the women trying to use him for his money or his position of power, when he meet Gabriella her innocence draws him in. I enjoyed this dangerous romance with a big hearted hero, a nice amount of steam and suspense, it certainly kept my interest.

Oh, how I have missed these men! Hunter is a protector and fixer by nature. When he comes upon a broken down Gabriella he can’t help but fix her tire and try to help her. By fate’s chance, they continue to cross paths and ultimately open their eyes and hearts to the possibility of love. The mafia storyline was a twist that kind of surprised me, but it worked really well with this story. There were elements of this story that completely shocked me! I already love her books and this one is as good as they get!
