Courts of Malice #1

A Curse of Malice & Mercy

Rate this book
Dreams are the dawn for everything good in the world…

Alessia is a dreamer. To protect her heart from growing hard, she chooses to see the best in others. After a life of enslavement and losing her only friend, she flees to the fae realm of Avylon, desperate for freedom. There, she meets Rainer, an enigmatic fae prince who is as enticing as he is unpredictable. He claims to detest humans, yet he teaches her how to fight, protects her, and empowers her. She can’t help but fall for him, even when his moods become increasingly volatile and it’s clear he’s hiding something dangerous.

She’s his little rose with beautiful buds and thorns so fatal…

The only thing Rainer hates more than humans is the curse he was born with. The one that flows through his veins and leaks into the surrounding forest. He’s dangerous, undeserving, and wears his reputation like armor. But when he meets Alessia, his perception shifts. If he’s malice, she’s his mercy. He needs to stay away, but it’s impossible to fight the temptation between them.

As their fates intertwine, can Alessia overlook Rainer’s dark past and overcome their differences? Or will Rainer crush his little rose in his fist?

A Curse of Malice & Mercy is a new adult, romantic fantasy book intended for mature readers. This book contains language, themes, and content that may not be suitable for all readers. Reader discretion is advised. It is book one in the Courts of Malice series and must be read in order.

If The Cruel Prince and A Court of Thorns and Roses had a baby, it would be this book. But don’t get me wrong, this is very much its own unique story. If you wished The Cruel Prince was new adult and darker, this is the book for you.

Alessia has had a tough life as she has been a slave for the last 18 years. But she doesn’t let that break her spirit and she’s so feisty, I was giggling at some of the stuff she did to annoy Rainer. Alessia is not quite ‘sunshine’ but she’s definitely perkier than grumpy Rainer and seeing her get under her skin was hilarious

Rainer gave me major Carden vibes in the beginning, but a bit more grown up, less spoiled, and with a more twisted past. He’s so grumpy it’s actually funny at times when Alessia gets on his nerves. He has a lot of stress on his plate but we don’t really know what it is.

I want more tension and back and forth! There wasn’t as much build up to the romance as I would have liked. But I honestly loved the romance and the back and forth trying to fight their feelings for eachother.

The Fae realm is easy to understand but uniquely imagined, and I loved the twist with the deadly forest.

Alessia knows nothing of the Fae and is naive in that sense, but it doesn’t break her spirit or feistiness. She’s such a kind person and it’s such a contrast to the brutal ways of faerie. Even though she is a human in a world of predators, she still fights and tries to get out.

There is a lot of political stuff going on in faerie and with the Umbra Court that we as the reader and Alessia do not understand.

I was intrigued by all of the side characters and I can’t wait to learn more about what parts they will play in the plot. Ken is my favorite side character and was so funny but was still such a great friend to both Alessia and Rainer. He was a comedic relief, but was still truly there for Alessia.

Alessia grows so much in the book. Once she is free from the abuse and oppressiveness of the lord, she truly flourishes. Seeing her grow a back bone and confidence had me cheering her on.

There isn’t a huge plot line happening as this is a very character driven story, but that didn’t bother me because I found all of the characters interesting and entertaining. There were moments where I was laughing out loud while reading, which was needed because this is definitely a bit of a darker story.

There isn’t a huge cliffhanger, but I’m excited for book 2.

Things to expect:
-Dual POV
-Who did this to you
-Fae
-Forced proximity
-Dislike to lovers
-Dream scapes
-Cursed Forrest that feeds off fear
-Found family
-Court intrigue
-If you touch anyone else I’ll kill them

This one falls somewhere in the 3-4 star range for me. It is dark, check the trigger warnings listed before reading.

If you liked The Cruel Prince by Holly Black but wished it was more adult… this book. I was about 170ish pages in before I started thinking to myself, is this a beauty and the beast retelling? Now having finished it, I think it has enough nods/elements of the fairytale to be considered a loose retelling.
So basically Cruel Prince with Beauty and the Beast vibes.

The main character is a human servant who escapes her abusive master. She crosses the barrier separating the human and fae worlds and finds herself in a literal nightmare. She ends up barely surviving and taken to safety by the Umbra court. There she is surrounded by cunning trickster fae and shifters who all have their own agendas.

The prince of the Umbra court has his own issues and adding a human girl to the mix is just another problem he doesn't need. Despite his annoyance at her presence he finds himself drawn to her. He shouldn't be. He is malice, a monster that only knows how to destroy. He will be her undoing. Or will she be his?

This book was VERY back and forth with the characters relationships. They were never enemies to lovers, but not quite anything else. The base fantasy romance elements we love are all here, though pretty basic, I still had a good time. I will continue the series to see where the plot line goes.

How are people calling this more adult when it reads like a children's novel? Just the spice? Come on. Tired of novels being labeled as 'adult' but they still read like YA.

I hate the main character. Ok, we get it, she's supposed to be plain with a spark. But honestly there is nothing very special about her yet everyone flips out as if she's so unique for being like vaguely nice? She does the tiniest thing and people are all aghast. There's no real reason for me to like her, all the characters are just telling me to which is honestly the only reason I have an issue with her. Don't just tell me who to like, write in reasons for me to like them. Actions > words in life and in fiction!

Hoooooooooo boy. This is the second, and def last, book by this author I have read. Man that was bad. Though I was able to finish it, so it gets two stars instead of one. There wasn’t a single new or unique concept in that entire book. Not much really happened and the characters were annoying. My nerves grated every time I read the words “arse” or “feck(ing)” and although yes, I know the real pronunciation, my brain read “mo róisín” as “my raisin” Every. Damn. Time.

I‘m a sucker for fantasy romance and this is exactly what I needed. I really enjoyed this one but I hate the fact that I‘ll probably have to wait more than a year for the second book…
I definitely recommend

Wonderful start to a new fae series that had me hooked! I am little sad I waited so long to read this one. I devoured it in a day after finishing another one of Miranda Joy's books. Miranda does a hauntingly beautiful job of exploring start themes of past trauma, rage, and the desperation of hope and loss with this Beauty and the Beast retelling (with some changes).

The characters:
Alessia's character ARC in this book was so fun to reach -- she still has more growing up to do, but I think we are going to get a whole new side of Alessia in book 2, especially after that cliffhanger.

As for our MMC, Rainer -- he's morally grey, but also carries that sad boy energy that you can't help but be attracted to. I can't wait to watch his character develop even more. The side characters are wonderful (Ken -- stop trying to steal the show or do!) and I can't wait to see more of them.

The plot:
When Alessia escapes a dark and sinister world to race into the forest-- she does the unthinkable. She survives. In this new world of the fae, she learns their rules, their morally grey ways, and challenges Rainer at every step. But she starts to tug at the threads of much larger plots. All is not right in this world either. And while she doesn't have all the answers, she continues to push her way past Rainer's defenses. Of course, there are consequences to drawing so much attention and she soon finds herself a pawn between these warring fae. The cliffhanger will have you yelling "Miranda Joy! What did you do!?"

I am hoping for some rage from our MCs as they battle back against the forces that are against them in book. I am here for this adventure.

First off, I want to thank Miranda for the early copy of ACOMAM and always giving me all the exclusive deets. Next, omg my heart has been ripped out. In the best possible way of course. Joy has shown she knows how to write a cliffhanger, and this book is no different. I could not put this romantasy down, and I never want to leave this world.

ACOMAM follows Allesia who, running from an awful situation, finds her self in the fae realm. She discovers things about magic and realms she had no idea about, and while meeting new friends, she also finds herself and truly grows. Rainer is a fae prince shrouded in mystery who does not understand this pull towards a human girl and has a million problems stacked against them. These two have their ups and downs and have moments where they face them better than others, but neither of them can deny the pull they feel towards one another.

The character growth in this book was top notch. Alessia went through so much, and she had her moments where she broke down, but ultimately she knew she needed to keep going and began to recognize her strength, as well as realize that it’s okay to not always be strong. I could not get over how she kept standing up, and how she wasn’t doing it on her own. The people around her, who barely knew her, kept on supporting her and showing her that she was strong—albeit in a roundabout way at times.

Speaking of the people around Alessia, the side characters were absolutely incredible! Ugh I need more. Ken is for sure my favorite. I love him so much, but I can also not get over Das Celyn and Viv. Joy wrote such dynamic side characters that not only supported the main character’s story, but they also had their own rich story that I want to know more about.

The world building was absolutely phenomenal. I loved how Joy slowly showed more and more and gave little hints that foreshadowed more parts at play. I can’t wait to see how everything is expanded in book 2, as well as all the new places!

A Curse of Malice and Mercy is an absolutely incredible romantasy that I highly recommend. This one is for those who befriend the monster, not fear it. It’s for the ones who can see their self in another tortured soul or appreciate others’ growth and how hard it can be at times. ACOMAM has magic, fae, shifters, enemies to (maybe) lovers, and so much more. Now excuse me while I go try to recover from the incredible cliffhanger I just read, and try to patiently (not so patiently) wait until book 2.

3.75/5 stars! I’m conflicted because the basis of this story is really strong and I think the author did a good job of spreading out the main plot point until the end. That being said, the FMC is annoying as heck. Like at times I sympathize with her childishness because she’s in a new world. But other times, I just want to smack her. You’re not cool with ______ kissing someone else but you JUST kissed someone else. It stinks of double standards. That being said, the final angle and seeking to get to the reveal about who and what the FMC really is, will have me reading the sequel when it releases. The story is good; just have patience with the annoying FMC lol

Thank you to Miranda Joy for a copy of this ARC in exchange for my honest review!

A Curse of Malice & Mercy is the first in a new series by the author. I loved this book! The way that Miranda writes such beautiful worlds makes you wish you were there! I really enjoyed the magic system as well. It was full of secrets and curses, I couldn’t stop reading till I found out what they were!

I LOVE Alessia. In the human world she’s a Tradeling, she is under the ownership of a cruel lord and lady. With the help of her best friend she escapes to the mysterious and dangerous fae world Avylon. She is such a strong character inside and out. I loved seeing her grow and try to earn her freedom. Rainer is the prince of fear which ironically you’ll hate to love. Him and Alessia had so much tension and the pacing of their romance was built just right. This book also had amazing side characters; Ken, Das Celyn, and Viv all in their fae ways try to help Alessia.

The ending had me in shambles and I cant wait for the second book! I highly recommend picking up this book if you’re looking for a new series with cruel fae, a captivating world, and strong characters!

Miranda does a wonderful job with the world-building and writing style in ACOMAM. I truly enjoyed this book. There are secrets, curses, romantic tension, and dream walking. We follow Alessia in on a journey of growth in not only her physical strength but also emotional. The back and forth between Rainer (MMC) and Alessia (FMC) is entertaining to read. I enjoyed seeing how their relationship develops through out the book. Definitely more of a slow burn fantasy romance. Ken is a side character who brings good comedic relief during times of tension. The ending left me wanting more and hoping the next book comes out soon to find out what happens next. Over all I enjoyed reading this book. Can't wait for the next installment in the Courts of Malice series.

Dude! This book was So! Good! I was immediately hooked, although I will say the beginning chunk was a difficult read so if you do have a sensitivity to any type of abuse, then the first chunk of the book might be a challenge for you. However, once you get past that, boy oh boy, are you in for a treat! I was absolutely hooked even though I wasn’t the main character’s number one fan. She did grow on me and I really liked the themes that were used throughout the book. Also, Ken?! Literally love him and I can’t wait to know more about him, I literally cannot wait for the next book in the series to come out because that cliffhanger??!?!?! Good Lord

This was an absolutely amazing read. Hints of a dark beauty and the beast with an originality that I loved. Mix together fairies, demons, vampires and a curse that can’t easily be broken. I quiet like this novel, the spicy scenes fit well with the narrative and the MCs didn’t feel forced together or predetermined. I liked how it felt like they were finding each other despite their mistrust of each other (mostly Alessia mistrusting Rainer). The cliff hanger was a little hard to swollen but I can’t wait for book 2.

DNF’d after I read “his wily ways” 🥴 I was looking forward to this one but it’s just another “adult” romantasy that reads like it was written by a horny 15 year old.

Not gonna waste my time forcing myself to finish this one.

It was an easy read, creates a wonderful world to dive into. Well written characters that you keep rooting for. Definitely a slow burn- but in the best way that when you finish you NEED the next installment in your hands right away. Adult but very very low spice. Overall a really good book! I can’t wait for the next one!

"All broken things heal, and broken girls heal into indestructible women."

A Curse of Malice & Mercy is the first book in the Courts of Malice series by Miranda Joy. I'm a huge fan of Joy's stories, and I am in love with this new series! ACOMAM is a dual POV story told from Alessia and Rainer's perspectives.

Before reading, please check content warnings. They are helpfully included in the book on page 4. The maps included are stunning and are a beautiful tool to help readers understand the locations and scope of Dovenak and Avylon.

ACOMAM tells the story of Alessia, a Tradeling, bought by a powerful lord in Dovenak and bound to a harsh life of servitude and abuse. After a series of events force Alessia to flee, she crosses the Gleam into Avylon, the home of the fae. Humans don't survive long in Avylon, but can Alessia be the exception when she finds herself indebted to a fae prince?

I love EVERYTHING about this story. The characters? Amazing. The plot? Super interesting and full of surprises at every turn. The ending? A fabulous cliffhanger. The romance? So so good! Lots of tension and pinning. It's an utterly delicious slow burn!

One thing I've come to expect with Joy's stories is fantastic character growth, and ACOMAM is no different. Alessia is so endearing from page one. As a reader you empathize and hurt for her from the very beginning. She's extremely likeable and you root for her to escape the terrible circumstances she's been living in. Following Alessia's journey to fight for herself and what she wants/needs is wonderful to experience.

Grumpy, sweet Rainer. He's so broken and holding onto to so much grief and trauma. I loved uncovering the man behind the icy façade, and why he's put up such a wall between him and Alessia. His love of roses and how he uses roses to express his feelings is so charming.

Not only are the MCs wonderful, but again Joy shows that she knows how to write incredible side characters. Das Celyn, Ken, and Viveka are all interesting and so much fun to read! I love Das Celyn's dry snark and tough love. Ken has tied Callan from TWL as favorite MJ side character. The things that come out of Ken's mouth...absolutely hilarious! Loved him from his first interactions with Alessia and through the entire rest of the story. Viveka is such a great example of strength for Alessia.

The worldbuilding is woven so well into the story! I enjoyed learning about the different types of fae and magic, as well as the politics within Avylon, and the history between Avylon and Dovenak. There are lots of questions still to be answered and I am so eager to see where the story goes from here! Another fantastic story from Joy! Definitely a must read for romantasy lovers!! Can't recommend it enough!

"That's a new one...You're the first one to pule after seeing me naked."

"I'm sick of males- human or not- telling me what I am, what to do, how to act."

"How can my freedom belong to everyone but me?"

"Fighting is hard, but yielding is harder. One is about dying to survive, and the other? Surviving only to slowly die. Choose your hard."

"Careful, little rose, your thorns are showing."

This book had me hooked, and I couldn’t put it down until I had finished it! 💫

It has:
* dual povs
* no infodump regarding the world building in the beginning
* trauma
* slow burn romance
* funny side characters, though they could have been more developed
* fae, pixies, vampires, magic

Possible spoilers:
Alessia, our main character is empathic, strong and funny, if not a little naive and frustraitingly stupid at times. If I had figured out what Rainer was at the same time as her, I might not feel that way, but it was so obvious, and therefore a little exhausting being in her head when Rainer was hot/cold towards her. She has a lot of trauma, but grows and develops through the book, and learns to find her voice and strength.

I think Rainer is a great character, he is morally grey, can install fear in anyone, but scared, hurt and a softie at heart. Loved that we got his POV and could read his conflicted feelings.

The slow burn is sloooow, just so everyone knows. I would have loved a little more happening between the mcs romantically, but that’s just me.

It ends on a cliffhanger, with Alessia and Rainer separated. I need the next book now!!

I DEVOURED this book!
I’ve been on a real fae kick here lately, and this book did not disappoint. I loved the dark forest with trees that kill. Ken is for sure my favorite character in terms of a flirt. Found the plot to be entertaining, and reminiscent to a beauty and the beast retelling where Rainer views him as “cursed” and Alessia is bound to break his curse at some point. All in all, A Court of Malice and Mercy transported me away into a fantasy world. And who doesn’t need that?

Read A Court of Malice and Mercy if you like:
✨dual POV
✨broody MMC with a dark mysterious past/tortured soul
✨funny side characters
✨magical worldbuilding
✨tension
✨”I hate you but I can’t help but to want you” trope

3.75. Okay guys push through that first couple of chapters. I know the writing a bit cringy and as well as the abuse at the start seems unnecessary. However, once Rainer and Alessia meet that were chemistry grows and the writing improves. I don’t think this book will be for everyone. That isn’t a lot of world building and not a lot happens. But I really enjoyed all characters in this book.

Though I don’t read a lot of books that have non binary characters. This is one is the best I’ve read so fair. I’m never confused on who the author is refer to. Which has been issue for me in the past.

Can’t wait for the next book.

First I want to thank Miranda Joy for giving me the opportunity to read an early copy of ACOMAM. I was so excited about this book when I heard about it, and now I cannot wait for book 2 in the series.

The thing I love the most about this book is that it is a slow burn - the romance, the tension and the whole relationship of Alessia and Rainer are slowly developed and gives time for the reader to understand the characters, not only focusing on the love story. Furthermore, we have the opportunity to see how relationships develop with other characters, between courts and realms.

The plot was amazing - there are heartbreaks, secrets, romance, challenges. As well as different kinds of characters with different abilities - fae, shifters, demons, humans..

Duo point of view, which I love as you get two different perspectives and experience the different emotions. Miranda Joy has made a great job at building the characters in the book, at first showing them in their worst physical and mental states and developing them throughout the book. I love how Alessia is finding strength to fight for herself, but also for the things she believes in. Rainer on the other hand, secretive and closed in himself finds the way to open up and show us his good sides. Ken and Viv are side characters who have a lot of potential for further development, so I hope we see more of them in the following books.

The world building is incredible. I love the maps at the beginning, and how M. Joy slowly introduces new information about places, suggesting that there are more things going on than just what we see in Rainer’s court.

A Curse of Malice and Mercy is amazing romantasy and I highly recommend it. This book is for those who are willing to fight for themselves despite the heartbreaks and the demons in their hearts. For those who push to the limit the people closest to them in order to make them stronger, while giving them love and real friendship. I cannot wait for book 2 so I can experience more of this world, see how the characters develop and uncover the secrets which remained hidden.

GIMME, GIMME BOOK 2 RIGHT NOW! *cue grabby hands* 😂

But seriously THANK YOU Miranda for giving me an arc (you know I love your books) and this one was no less of an exception! Like it was so damn good! 🩵

This is the first book out of three, so there wasn’t much action but when there was it was good! This book focuses on the world building, character building and setting the scene. And I’ll be damned if I said it wasn’t good!

Now characters:

Alessia, she’s our main female protagonist. She was sold to the trade when she was younger and works as a servant for the Lord, but manages to make her way across the Gleam (I won’t tell you how coz spoilers)! But we see this weak, traumatised young woman turn into a strong willed, and ready to start fighting back in such a short time!

Rainer, he’s our main male protagonist, and he’s a brooding fae who has TONS of secrets (which we later discover what they are at the end of the book) he’s a complex character by himself, but when you add Alessia into the mix? Oooh it’s so fun to read about! He’s an a**hole most of the book, BUT he has his reasons (later found out at the end)

Kenisius (aka Ken)!!! Oooh he’s on of my favourite side characters! Like he’s Rainers best friend but protector and defender of the Umbra Court. But he’s absolutely HILARIOUS! And chapter 17 he had his moments to shine with Alessia and I was laughing like there was no tomorrow! 😂 (I won’t say much about him because spoilers!)

Overall this is a great start to the trilogy and I’m so excited for the next book! Like when I tell you I was spamming Miranda with messages of my theories, I’m not lying. However they were neither confirmed nor denied because spoilers for the next book🥲

This is a great romantasy book that has, great plot, great characters and great world building! Oh and not to forget ANGST AND SLOW BURN!! Overall 10/10 recommend that you read this when it comes out (June 16th) because it’s really good! Especially if you want, a plot that reveals little nuggets of information for the following books whilst keeping you engaged, badass mmcs and fmcs and fantasy settings!

Can Miranda do wrong? I don't think so 🔥 the queen of romantasy strikes again with A Curse of Malice and Mercy - a new adult fantasy filled with romance and interwoven with Celtic lore.

Brief Synopsis 📖
Alessia is a tradeling - a slave in the human worlds - forced to serve an abusive lord and lady, but she has Char - her only family. When things go awry, Alessia must escape to Avylon - the fae lands - to save her life and runs straight into the hands of a dark and broody fae prince.

World-building 🌎
I can picture the Umbra Court writing this now - the roses and gardens, Alessia's room, the castle, the Ostara ball... The world building is woven seamlessly without feeling overly descriptive and heavy. The atmosphere bleeds into the worlds with the tiny details Miranda adds. I love all the aspects from Celtic lore that feed into the plot and language.

Characters 💕
Alessia grows from fragile human to a woman who stands up for herself and fights for who she is and what she wants ❤️‍🔥 then we have Rainer... broody, mysterious, tattooed, delicioussss. All the things we love in a fae prince 😈
I adore the side characters in this book - Ken, in particularly, never fails to make me smile. And Viveka is a bad-ass female edition 🔥

Of course, in true Miranda fashion, there is fun banter woven throughout, alongside deeper, meaningful themes. It made me smile and laugh, it made my fists ball and my eyes water 💖

4.5 stars rounded up for Goodreads ⭐️

Features & tropes:
• Dual POV
• Fae, magic & curses ✨
• Dreamwalking ☁️
• A hint of spice 🌶️
• Celtic lore
• 'Who did this to you?' ❤️‍🔥

"Fighting is hard, but yielding is harder. One is about dying to survive, and the other? Surviving only to slowly die. Choose your hard."

"Your soul is magic, human."

"And there she is... the girl who fights."

"All broken things heal, and broken girls heal into indestructible women."

"Your demons don't define you."

"You're safe with me, mo roisin, now be a good girl and let me see you."

The best feeling is finding a new book or series that just hits all the right notes, and A Curse of Malice and Mercy was that book for me. With a plot that kept me engaged with the story and a cast of characters that made me only want to read more, ACOMAM was a fantastic dark fae fantasy romance that was hard to put down.

Right from the very first chapter, I was caught up in Alessia's story. Between her plight in the human world and her journey into fae lands through the Gleam, Alessia's life-changing adventure put her innate bravery on display while she constantly tackled new knowledge and her new world. Likewise, Rainer was so dark and broody that I couldn't help but love him. Rainer has a lot of secrets and even more riding on his shoulders, and he so cleanly fits the morally gray mold. I loved watching these two main characters spar from practically their very first meeting.

Of course, as much as I loved Alessia and Rainer, their story would be less vivid without the support of such amazing, fully-developed secondary characters. By far one of my favorite supporting characters in recent memory, Kenisius truly deserves his own book. He's fun, he's reliable, and he treads the line between being loyal to Rainer and friendly to Alessia so well. He was the standout character for me, and with so many wonderful characters, that is quite the accomplishment.

While the plot was primarily focused on Alessia and her journey, Miranda still managed to weave in drama and fae conflict and kept the plot quite interesting. With Alessia coming into her own, I know any other books in this series will only continue to build on Alessia's skills and the hidden truths of faerie courts.

With descriptive environments and thoroughly-realized characters, A Curse of Malice and Mercy was an enthralling and engrossing romantasy story that will leave readers clamoring for what happens next for Rainer and Alessia.

First, I want to thank Miranda Joy for allowing me to read an early copy of A Curse of Malice & Mercy for my honest opinion. I'm new to Miranda's world and writing, but I immediately became a fan!

The world-building of this book is so well written and flows so well with the magick and storyline that you never feel lost. The storyline is intricate but easy to read and follow along. The book includes many elements, such as humor, spice, slow burn, trauma, secrecy, evolving characters, heavy emotional moments, magick, curses, and tension (oh, the tension). Everything I love in an adult fantasy romance book!

Alessia, the FMC, starts in a traumatic situation she can't leave, but her growth throughout the book is one of the best ones I've read lately. The struggle she goes through the entire time to either please others and not knowing how to do that for herself is something that many of us can comprehend. On the other hand, Rainer, the MMC is exactly what I love to read in a romantasy. The morally grey fae prince you are rooting for, but you know there is something he is hiding, even when he starts opening up. There is something underneath that he is not saying.

Another character I need to mention is Ken, Rainer's right-hand man, and friend. He had me laughing literally out loud. He knows exactly how to cut the tension between the characters and bring in a lightheartedness that just fits in perfectly. It's hard not to love him! There are also several other side characters that are well-written with each of them having an emotional past of their own. - Make sure to read trigger warnings at the beginning of the book.

The last few chapters of the book left me wanting more and I didn't want it to end. I needed it to keep going. I need to know what happens next and what else Rainer is not telling us because I'm imagining way too many scenarios! Can't wait for Courts Of Malice Book 2!
