I enjoyed this book, the first I have read by this author. The characters were very well done and I did think I knew them all well whilst reading and could visualise them. The plot kept you thinking until the end although the final conclusions came in a bit of a rush. If I have any critism it is that some of the ways Jenny spoke to friends seemed a little unlikely.
Jenny Maltravers after her time in the army as a Matron has opened a shop in Peaklow. Not long after a death in the town, the police become suspicious of her involvement. With the help of Captain Daniel Harrison of the Royal Military Police she tries to clear her name. An entertaining modern cozy mystery.
