NON-HUMAN: The Rendlesham Forest UFO Incidents: 42 Years of Denial

Rate this book
Non-Human The Rendlesham Forest UFO Forty-Two Years of Denial tells the hugely complicated story of what is now considered to be the second most famous UFO case in history after Roswell in 1947. Gary Heseltine is a former police detective and UFO investigator and researcher. He has used his skills to re-investigate the case literally from day one after the events had taken place. With over five years of research, he has examined virtually everything ever published about the case, and in the process has discovered a wealth of material. Much of which has not featured widely in the public domain, and he lays out the 'true context' around it for you, the public to read. In addition, he has collected explosive new witness testimony from many of the military personnel who were involved in the various incidents that took place, both in the forest, and on the bases in the last days of December 1980. He has also obtained amazing new military testimony from a previously unknown witness that is presented in the book for the very first time. Non-Human also delves deep into the murky 'politics' world of the Rendlesham Forest Incident, and presents information that suggests that the narrative of the case may have been 'controlled' by a small number of people for over a quarter of a century. The author also makes the argument, that both the military and governments of the UK and the US, have downplayed the true significance of the case since it became known. Non-Human lays out the best evidence for the public to see collectively for the very first time. Let the evidence fall where it falls.

Questions come to mind when taking a on a book about the Rendlesham Forest Incident. With so much written, so many documentaries and TV specials on the topic, why another book? Why now? And why this author?

The answers seem to come down to narratives. In the time since this event occurred, the general understanding of what happened at Rendlesham Forest, has shifted a number of times. First, there was an official narrative of denial. Nothing happened. The Halt memorandum’s release shifted the narrative to include a landed craft with beings. As 1980s era investigators went to work on the event, a narrative of 3 days of well documented UFO activity emerged.

Gary Heseltine’s research takes the narrative forward again. His findings now suggest 5 days of significant UFO activity including at least 3 consecutive days of interactions with non-human intelligences. We are also reminded of 3 additional, well documented incidents near the two nearby air bases in the year running up to the Rendlesham Forest Incident (RFI). Taken as a whole, the importance of this event is elevated even further.

It seems that Heseltine is very well qualified to advance the narrative on the incident. He spent a career as a police detective focusing on advanced interviewing skills and complex cases. He is a long-experienced UFO investigator of some renown in the U.K. and has spent 5 years investigating and accumulating interviews and evidence on this event. Why now? Recent discoveries allows him to paint this new narrative.

The value of these personal attributes is apparent in the book. Heseltine, through witness testimony, corroborates as best as is possible various statements. Using his detective training and experience he assess the credibility of the witnesses and their statements, discarding the less credible material. He then layers in new evidence that has come available in the past years to fully build out this new hypothesis of 5 days of significant UFO activity.

And what a hypothesis it is:

A translucent craft observed a close range.
A glass like triangular object on the ground near to and touched by a human.
Lighted objects in the sky moving at extreme speeds in a grid like pattern, projecting a beam of light on the ground including into the nuclear weapons area of RAF Bentwaters Station.
At least two sightings of non-human lifeforms observed at close distance.
Missing time experienced by some witnesses.
And more
Since evidence has started to come out in the 1980s about it, The Rendlesham Forest Incident has been spectacular in nature and duration. It seems even more so now.

It’s difficult if not impossible to get to an absolute truth on UFO events. Forces work to suppress information. Disinformation agents abound. The best we will ever have is a hypothesis, well supported by available evidence. There will be debate about Heseltine’s work, disinformation and more. None the less, we have a new, well documented and carefully thought-out hypothesis on what happened at Rendlesham Forest in December of 1980.

My sense is that this is an important book both in that it advances the RFI narrative and in that its careful research is fully laid out in the book. I believe that fans and researchers of the incident will come to see this as the next advancement in our understanding of this important piece of UFO history.
