Are you ready for a clean, clear mind?
Anxiety, overwhelm, and rumination can be a tough cycle to break. The 14 Day Mind Cleanse makes it achievable with a program of simple techniques to clear out your mental clutter while introducing calm and positivity , helping you become your clearest, most grounded self.
Kick off the program with a daily meditation ritual and by tweaking your digital diet. Finish the first week by adding techniques for positive thinking and “joy riding.” Now you’re ready to apply, rinse, and repeat for a second week, taking note of what’s working and what’s not.
In The 14 Day Mind Cleanse , you’ll learn seven daily techniques to help you realistically achieve and build clarity, these practices
Internationally renowned speaker and meditation teacher Jacqui Lewis has been educating individuals, groups, and leading organizations in higher-grade living for years via her school The Broad Place. In The 14 Day Mind Cleanse , she offers a modern pocket guide to the program she has seen transform the lives of her students.
I would say this would rather work better as a podcast. The book is good for beginners who wants a short self help book on mind “cleansing”. The writing is quite simple and has simple steps for the reader to follow.
However, when I pick up a book for practical reasons, I feel it would be a better option if the chapters are presented as pointers or in short paragraphs even if there are lesser words and short sentences all put together.
I feel the book can be edited again and be more beginner level friendly. There’s a lot of room for the chapters to become more attention seeking and attractive.
Also, most readers tend to pick up/follow nonfiction/self help books if the main content has more easily digestible flowcharts/pointers/prompts for action for every point/concept explained.
Thank you, Chartwell Books/Quarto Publishing Group, for the advance reading copy.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for providing me an e-ARC in exchange for an honest review. I will be the first to admit that I do not typically like self-help books. While I think developing oneself is important, I often find self-help books preachy, boring, and difficult to apply in real life. This was not the case at all when reading “The 14 Day Mind Cleanse.” This is the first book of its kind I have wanted to and successfully finished. The author’s writing is accessible, interesting, and easy enough to apply to your life, but hard enough to make it worth it. Sometimes books on self-help can seem like a scam, or a fad. This book is not. From my personal experience in therapy, I can confirm that the knowledge shared in this book is a reflection on many things I have learned in therapy. At the same time, it introduced new ideas and reintroduced old ideas in ways I can have hope to implement into my life. The author shares insights from therapists, philosophers, and more in order to include a multifaceted approach to mental health. The plan is very easily adaptable to each individual reader, and while it can be done in 14 days, I found I needed to practice some aspects for more than one day to fully get myself through (especially powering down one hour before sleep). The author wisely targets how modern day’s fast-paced and technology-filled life contributes to our mental health struggles, and I want to read this book several times to absorb all of the wisdom shared. Finally, I liked how the book was not overly verbose. Each day’s reading is kept to the point. It explains the plan for the day, and may include a short story to help illustrate the point of the exercise. After the introduction section, each day only consists of about five or so minutes of reading, which makes it easy to incorporate. I would recommend this book to anyone looking to work on their mental health individually! It’s not a complete solution, but it is a wonderful aid.
This brief book shares helpful practices that people can adopt to reduce stress and improve their mental well-being. The book isn't as revolutionary as the author tries to make it sound, since the practices are familar recommendations like avoiding technology for an hour before bed, practicing meditation, and learning not to multitask, but she presents the material in an engaging way and provides brief, clear explanations of the brain science and psychology behind the issues she addresses. She also includes inspirational quotes that will appeal to many readers.
For the author's fourteen-day program, you adopt a different new practice every day for a week, and then you spend the next week maintaining these practices and reflecting on your journey. The book is concise and easy to read, and the author shares anecdotes and clear examples for how people can apply these concepts to their lives. However, potential buyers should know that part of the page count is devoted to repetitive journaling pages for the second week. This is pretty short, and the page count doesn't fully represent the book's substance, since there are so many consumable pages with all of the same journaling prompts.
Personally, I think that the program is too rushed for people to build effective habits. The short timeline will appeal to a busy and stressed audience, but I think that if this was designed for weekly instead of daily reading, the content would be more likely to stick, instead of this being another quick fix that people rush through before reverting to their old habits. Still, this definitely gives people a chance to experiment on a short timeline to convince themselves that it's worthwhile to keep working on these things.
I received a temporary digital copy from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
The author discusses the objectives of this book stating that providing a step-by-step program to reset your mind. The book is, basically, presented in a two week program. • Week One involves learning one new building-block technique each day, starting with a beginners’ meditation, and adding each new building block to your daily routine. • Week Two is a deep mind cleanse, using all seven techniques every day plus journalling.
The author provides the following list of some of the things readers will be working on: • Cleansing your mind with a daily meditation practice • Setting the stage for better, deeper sleep with an hour of powering down before bed • Learning to stop multi-tasking and be more mindful • Starting your day with a personalized morning ritual • Banishing ‘busy’ by prioritizing tasks and reframing your language • Curating and improving what you feed your mind • Increasing your happiness by ‘joy-riding’
This is a great 14 day mind cleanse book. It would work well when doing a spiritual fast. Highly recommend.
This book is a great companion with your morning coffee. "The 14 Day Mind Cleanse" by Jacqui Lewis covered topics I already felt familiar with, but was also an excellent reminder because although the ideas didn't feel new, I definitely needed motivation to get back to creating good habits! This book is a fantastic way to introduce self-care and mindfulness to those who are looking for ideas that will help them start creating healthy habits and start paying attention to the ways in which they are spending their time and how that affects their mental health. I loved the format and feel like breaking this down into 14 days makes the consumption of this information less overwhelming. The journal prompts at the end are helpful in allowing the reader to digest the information and write down key takeaways they don't want to forget.
I'd buy this book today. The cover is beautiful. Calming. Peaceful. The title tells me exactly what to expect. I love how each section has a beautiful page with soft colors and a simple statement to reflect on. Then we learn what's involved. I learned so much. Things I knew I learned more. I was hooked into the upcoming process. Then a week, seven steps. Nine pages of learning, techniques, examples. Week two is continuing to do the seven steps, but there's the follow through, the check in. In our busy lives with technology crammed down our throats humans have become hurried, impatient and mean. We all need this book. There are many books on self improvement out there, but this is by far the best. Promote it. We all need it.
This book is helpful in times as these, when you want to take a break from the clutter of the world and be in tune with yourself. The format of the book is simple, clean and the author's writing is concise-which overall made this such a wonderful reading and learning experience. I've been doing a social media detox for two hours every day and in turn I have more time to write and read books. Thanks Netgalley for the eARC.
This book's cute cover and title definitely caught my attention. But the content was quite standard and is perhaps not as revolutionary as I would've liked. The premise of carrying out daily rituals and then having a further week to carry them out is great but I did not find them practical. Unfortunately, I didn't find this book enjoyable and I do not think I learnt much from it. It may work for others and I liked the quotes inside the book.
Simple, to the point, clear illustrations, crisp headings. I found this to be helpful and useful for cleansing my mind over a two week period. I believe a lot of people in my life could benefit from this so I plan to gift it at the holidays. Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC. Five stars.
An exploration of different techniques to cleanse your mind including meditation, power hour and journalling. This was a pretty but basic book, more suitable as a physical copy. This would serve as a good reminder. Gave me a couple of takeaways.
I liked this book, the simple design was calming and the quotes in the book were lovely. It’s a great book to help you meditate and clear your mind. This would make a great gift.
