Abel Yeager #4

Yeager's Choice

Rate this book
Milton “Cujo” Quattlebaum died on the side of mountain in Mexico. Or so Abel Yeager believed. Then Victor Ruiz gets a call from the State Department. The pilot is alive and incarcerated in a Mexican prison.

This would be good news except for the intervention of a mysterious captain in the Mexican special forces. The captain offers to get their friend released if they undertake a mission on his behalf. If they don’t accept, the Cujo will be without protection in a very dangerous environment.

The job? Kill one of the most powerful and feared men in Herman Gustaffson, also known as El Escorpión.

Yeager and Ruiz must risk everything on a deadly trek into a game of deceit, power, and politics. But they are the pawns, and forces beyond their control are moving the pieces.

Scott Bell writes because that way he can daydream and claim it on his taxes. A Certified Fraud Examiner and professional Suburban Man, Scott has a wife, two grown kids, and at least one cat sleeping on his keyboard. (The cat, not the wife and kids. They have their own keyboards to sleep on.)

When he's not writing, Scott fights a relentless battle against weeds, slow drivers, and ever-shrinking pants.

Scott Bell should be proud of this, the latest Abel Yeager suspense novel.
It felt like a family reunion to spend time with Abel and Charlie and Por Que. Their last mission ended with the sadness of losing a team member. Por Que is approached and told that their team mate is alive and well and to get him back...
This was an action packed, suspenseful story which weaves real life events from the recent past to the present time in Guatemala. Some of my favorite quotes from this novel #4:
"His presence filled the hall, and his warrior soul radiated deadly intent."
"No wonder she can't stand me. Hell I can barely stand myself."
"The primary mission objective was Yeager's First Law: come home at the end of the day."
"I went out on a limb." Literally speaking!
"This guy ia as creepy as a horror movie puppet coming to life and leering at you."
Por Que adds the wit and humor to this story. He is injured several times but he is always quick witted and his contributions take the readers mind off of all the killing and the hopeless situations.
Well done and keep Yeager's adventures coming please.

It’s a good choice to read Yeager’s Choice

Scott Bell has done it again with this thriller of a novel. Yeager has once again found himself in a big spot of trouble with no relief in sight. Abel, being Abel, does what all warriors do when the chips are down. Time for War! Great book.

Yeager is spending time in his not so happy home, when Porky shows up. It seems they have a comrade in a Mexican prison. The only way to get him out is to somehow assassinate the usual crime lord. Luckily, they get a little help.

Pretty rote.

Yeager's Choice is an excellent read. Scott Bell has done a great job with the characters, and plot. I hope that we see more of Abel Yeager and gang.
