Kathy Ivan is the master of suspenseful romantic stories that keep you engaged from start to finish and Deadly Justice lives up to her reputation. Two dedicated professionals bent on revenge chasing the same man set between Dallas and New Orleans and you have the premise for the sixth book in the New Orleans Connection series. The twists and turns this story takes will leave you hanging on every word and you will not want to put the book down.
This is Samuel and Andrea's story and it is a mixture of captivating suspense and the start of a wonderful love story. Kathy Ivan writes with a delicate balance between suspense and romance and her stories will keep you coming back for more. Both Sam and Andrea have intensely personal reasons for wanting Richard brought to justice or death and they really don't care which one it is. There lack of trust in each other only makes the story more enjoyable to read. As the get closer to their goal their passion for each other continues to grow and makes them even more determined to end the chase so that they can start on their journey for their HEA. This book is a roller coaster ride from start to finish and at times you are not sure if they are going to make it. If you like books where the good triumphs over evil this book will be right up your alley. You can never go wrong with a Kathy Ivan book for hot security teams and the women they love. Well done.

Two people after the same man for different reasons. But revenge in common leads them down a dangerous road. Loved the suspense and drama. Danger abounds throughout the story keeping you wanting more!
Samuel is going to see Webster rot in jail if it's the last thing he does. He won't stop no matter what. After what he did to Samuel he can't be free to do as he does, running guns and drugs. And when a hit from an alias comes up Samuel jumps on it. Or rather runs into it.
Andrea wants Webster dead. After taking away her future she can't think about anything else. And she'll stop at nothing to see him dead. And working undercover has had its advantages. And then coming into contact with Samuel and having access to his security and team makes it all the more better. But her growing attraction may throw a wrench into the whole plan.
As the trail grows closer to Webster, Samuel and Andrea find themselves growing closer and meaning more to one another than either planned. Will Webster use their growing love against them to bring them down?? Or can they beat him at his own game?

Deadly Justice is the sixth story of the New Orleans Connection series. Kathy has once again created a page turner, a mix of romance and suspense. There are some scenes that are not suitable for readers under 18.
Samuel holds many secrets, but one thing that is know is his desire to find and catch the man that cost him his career and almost cost him his life.
Andrea seems like the perfect assistant and minds her owns business, but Samuel learns quickly that Andrea is full of her own secrets and hiding serval parts of her past. Joining forces seems like it could be a good plan but that involves trust, which both Samuel and Andrea are having a hard time with.
Will Samuel and Andrea be able to learn to trust the other? Or will they continue hiding things? Will Samuel find what he's looking for of will Andrea be a distraction?

Another great read by Kathy Ivan. This is the 6th book in the series, though it can be read as a stand alone. There are characters from other books in this one, but even if this was the first one in the series that I read, I wouldn't be lost. The intrigue and story lines were very well written. The romance was steamy and angst filled and I wasn't sure it was going to end in a HEA, but I wasn't disappointed in the story line when the book ended. The heroine was surprisingly strong and capable. I didn't think she was going to be at first, but she surprised me as much as she did the hero.
I highly recommend this book, and all the others in this series.

Carpenter is determined to get justice. Andrea seems like the best way to do that. But when he starts to get to know Andrea, he realizes there is more to her than meets the eye. There is more to how he feels. Andrea has her own secrets. Can they both find what they are seeking? Can they find more? A great story that will keep you hooked from the start! I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

What an amazing read! The story line is full of twists, turns and loaded with mystery and suspense. The author has a unique way of taking you into the story and keeping you there until the very end. Sam and Andrea have great chemistry and wonderful interactions with the other characters. Fantastic book!

Another amazing Kathy Ivan book. I love this series and the way it has continued is amazing. Samuel and Andrea have an explosive connections, but betrayals in their past make them both distrustful. This story has an Amazing plot line along with great characters. It introduces some new ones and we see some of our old favorites.

Kathy Ivan did an outstanding job with Deadly Justice the seventh book in her New Orleans Connection series. In it she introduces readers to Andrea Kirkland and Samuel Carpenter. Samuel is a long-time friend of Jean-Luc Boudreau. He was welcomed into their family as a young lad and as become a pseudo-Boudreau, hence the connection to Gator Boudreau and his sons. Samuel, while an DEA agent, was betrayed and framed by his mentor, Richard Webster, the antagonist. Clearing his name, Samuel begins a lengthy campaign to capture Webster and make him pay for the lives he took. Destiny steps in with new person of interest, Andrea. She works for a known associate of Webster, Lawrence Mitchell. Just from her picture alone, Samuel is attracted to her. Meeting her intensifies his feelings of protectiveness and possessiveness. Unbeknownst to Samuel is Andrea’s hidden agenda of getting even with Webster. The secrets of their pasts, the intense physical and emotional attraction to each other, and their quests to bring Richard Webster to justice propels them on an intriguing journey. To discover how it plays out, you must read this book.
It has been a while since I last picked up a book by Ms. Ivan. I was delighted that she did not disappoint me. Ms. Ivan has outdone herself in this romantic suspense plot. I enjoy her skill in creating complex characters. Readers witness their dreams, strengths, and vulnerabilities. She allows readers to journey along with her characters as they work out their fears and challenges. I am fascinated by how Ms. Ivan connected Samuel to the Boudreau family and how he became a part of their clan. Including the different brothers and cousins into her plot captures the essence, the closeness and the special bonds of this special family. Great job, Ms. Ivan.

Giving a written review
I'm sorry, but giving a written review, just isn't the same, as hearing it from me in person! I've loved all of Kathy's books!!!!! Unfortunately, I've only read about half of them. I read pretty much two books a day. There's no way I can afford that much money. Whew! That would cost me about $30 a week! Eek!!! Lol. I've been lucky enough to get her books on either book bub or from reduced or free books. I belong to Kindle Unlimited! I can't say enough good things about it. It's allowed me to read many new authors, I never would have been able to afforded before. So thank you, Amazon! Now for my review of Deadly Justice. I haven't read a book of Kathy's I didn't love. I can't even skip pages, if I wanted to (which I never do) because every page, has some pertinent information, about the story. Or its in an exciting spot! If you like fast paced, action packed, who done it suspense and some hot, steamy love scenes, then Kathy Ivan's books are for you!! What are you waiting for?? Go now and get one!

I obtained this free e-book from Amazon and I am voluntarily writing a review. Samuel Carpenter was once one of the best DEA agents in his West Texas office until his partner Richard Webster turned dirty. Webster killed his whole team along with team of ATF agents framed Sam and drugged him with heroin and left him for dead. Now Sam has his own security company but his main goal is finding the elusive Webster. Andrea Kirkland has her own agenda in hunting down the dirty Webster since he was responsible for the murder of her fiancé john during a narcotic raid gone wrong thanks to Webster. Sam and Andrea's paths cross and eventually they agree to share info and work together to obtain the Justice they both deserve by bringing Webster in.

Deadly Justice by Kathy Ivan is a romantic suspense you won't want to skip. Ms. Ivan has delivered a well-written book. The characters are outstanding and lovable. Samuel is an ex DEA agent, framed by his friend and left for dead. Andrea is entangled in Samuel's hunt for the man that framed him. Their story is packed with drama, action, sizzle, suspense and humor. I like the way Ms Ivan twisted Andrea and Samuel's story together. I enjoyed reading Deadly Justice and look forward to reading more from Kathy Ivan soon. Deadly Justice is book 6 in the New Orleans Connection Series but can easily be read as a standalone. This is a complete book, not a cliff-hanger.

I just don’t know where to begin......
Whatever chemistry the author tried to fabricate between the hero and heroine I just did not feel at all. I felt like I was reading multiple stories versus just one. It felt like a compilation of Clueless, Bourne Supermacy, and the Matrix. Where everyone has an ulterior motive or out of no where they have skills that only before they were perceive as innocent and feeble. And I’m sorry but you cannot fall in love in one week especially when both the hero and heroine are drowning in secrets and betrayal.

4.5 for this book about revenge. The author balances the suspense and the romance, which is key to make this genre work well. The characters are interesting with a hint of mystery.
Samual has only one goal and that is to take down the man that ruined his life and nearly killed him. Nothing will stand in his way, until he meets Andrea. His brain is telling him not to trust this woman, as she could be the key to finally finding Webster. His libido is telling him something different. Together they are a force to be reckoned with.

I LIKED THE CHARACTERS IN THIS & THE STORYLINE LOVED SAM & ANDREA BECAUSE THEY WERE DIFFERENT. BOTH OF THEM ARE VERY FOCUSED PEOPLE. THIS WAS TOO TALKY AND LONG AND A LITTLE TOO DISCRIPTIVE OF SURROUNDINGS FOR ME. ;>

Cat and Mouse Thriller

Good story
There is excitement, danger, mystery, suspense, wonder, and love. Samuel and Andrea make a good couple and their road there is bumpy.

This is my favorite book in the entire New Orleans Connection series because I have been waiting to meet Samuel "The Ghost" Carpenter since his first shadowy appearance in Relentless Pursuit, several books ago. He's gorgeous, brilliant and disgustingly wealthy and started out as a DEA agent before he was shot in the line of duty and disgraced by a former partner. He's been on the trail of Richard Webster for 3 years and nothing will stop him from getting his revenge, not even the gorgeous woman who is his latest lead in the case. Andrea Kirkland is caught in the middle of some devastating developments at Mitchell International so when the new man in her life, Samuel Carpenter, comes to her rescue she's unknowingly implicated in his deadly game of cat and mouse. I read this gem in one deliciously intriguing afternoon of sexy hot romance and suspenseful delight. It's a sit-on-the-edge-of-your-seat 5 star masterpiece and the best Kathy Ivan book I have read to date. You will love it!
