I've really tried to like the series, but the author has made it really hard. Are not just the typos, how she keeps confusing characters, and this book had too many different points of views that I was lost.

I guess the author wanted to include a series killer to the series, but it was not good. There are too many characters that somehow connected to him but of course with the horrible detective work Kaitlyn, I'm surprised they even solved it.

Are we going to see Kaitlyn finally investigating what happened to her dad? Or was it all this just a ruse by the retired FBI guy to take over his case? I don't know anymore but the inconsistencies almost gave me a headache. Luke still doesn't know if he will really quit the FBI and Kaitlyn is not sure if she really wants to marry him... they need to make up their minds ASAP!

GONE FOREVER is the seventh instalment in Kate Gable’s contemporary, adult DETECTIVE KAITLYN CARR mystery , suspense series focusing on LAPD Detective Kaitlyn Carr. GONE FOREVER should not be read as a stand alone as it picks up immediately after the events and cliff hanger of book six GONE TOO SOON.

NOTE: If you have not read any of the previous instalments, there may be spoilers in my review.

Told from first person perspective (Kaitlyn Carr), and several omniscient third person perspectives GONE FOREVER continues to focus on the search for a serial killer near Olympia, Washington. Kaitlyn and her boyfriend Luke had been on vacation when our heroine stumbled across a body, that may or may not be connected to a serial killer. Kaitlyn with the help of boyfriend Luke, begin looking at the possibility of a serial killer in Olympia Washington, with the information provided by former FBI Agent Donald Clarke, a man obsessed with closing the cold case from years before. As Kaitlyn, Luke and Donald close in, several more bodies, and a fragile victim reveal that Donald Clarke may have been right, all along.

GONE FOREVER is a multi-layered story of secrets and lies, madness and murder, law enforcement and struggles, determination and retribution. The clues and information are slowly peeled away, revealing a decades long obsession with unravelling the truth. GONE FOREVER also looks at the ongoing relationship between Kaitlyn and Luke, and the possibility of future plans. The premise is captivating and intriguing; the characters are strong-willed and tenacious.

GONE FOREVER is the 7th book in the Detective Kaitlyn Carr Mystery series. This story is gripping and compelling! It is intense in the development of the plot and leaves you perplexed and curious as to the identity of the murderer. Kate Gable delivered an amazing suspenseful thriller! This page-turner is fast moving with lots of twists and turns that had me captivated from the first page and no amount of guessing could have prepared me for what went down.

While on vacation with her boyfriend, FBI agent Luke Galvinson, Kaitlyn visits the retired FBI agent who sent her a letter about her father’s death—not a suicide, but a murder! In order to know the truth about her father’s death, there is a caveat that she will have to help him solve a cold case murder. After discovering a woman’s body in the woods with Luke, both of them offers their assistance with the local authorities—even though they do not have jurisdiction in the area. As Kaitlyn and Luke investigates the cold case and the murdered woman, Kaitlyn thinks it might be the work of a serial killer. Now, a serial killer is on the loose. A LAPD detective is baffled and in the dark about the murders. It seems both Kaitlyn and the serial killer have their obsessions in this nerve-twisting mystery and suspense thriller. Are these murders related to Kaitlyn’s father murder? What happens next? Well, read this heart pounding mystery as you read to find who the killer is and find yourself waiting with bated breath for the last book. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

WOW! Kate Gable created another edge of your seat page turning thriller that grabs you from the beginning and won't let you go! The seventh book in this series is amazing. Lured to the Pacific Northwest by a letter she received from a former FBI agent, Donald, telling her he knows the secret of her father's death and it wasn't suicide. So Kaitlyn and her FBI boyfriend Luke, go to find Donald to find out the truth. But to complicate matters even more, Kaitlyn and Luke find a murdered girl and were asked to help. And, Donald wants Kaitlyn and Luke to solve some cold case murders as well as look into the murder of the dead girl they found. Why did Donald make solving some cold cases a caveat to telling her what he knows about Kaitlyn's father's death that he is sure was a murder? Are these cases connected? Are we dealing with a serial killer? Will Kaitlyn and Luke be able to find out the truths or will they fail? Is Kaitlyn in danger? With so many twists and turns you will be on a roller coaster ride you won't be able to put this book down. This whole series is a must read if you like edge of your set thrillers with a strong protagonist and a little romance. I received and ARC of this book but the opinions expressed here are strictly my own.

This is book seven in A Detective Kaitlyn Carr Mystery and omg it is definitely a must read. Kaitlyn and Luke have booked there flights home but now with the new evidence and discovery do they stay or do they go that is the question that they are asking themselves but talking to Donald the retired FBI agent brings up even more questions than answers. The twists and turns keep coming and then they make a new and shocking discovery throwing them all for a loop but none of them will give up before they find out the truth of what happened. Wow this series just gets better and better with each book written and I couldn’t put it down and had to keep turning the pages while being on the edge of my seat while holding your breath wondering what would happen next and this book kept your attention throughout and I can’t wait to read the next book in this amazing series. I definitely recommend you read this book, series and other books by Kate Gable who is an amazing author and writer and you will not be disappointed.

GONE FOREVER is the 7th book in the Detective Kaitlyn Carr Mystery series, and what an intense, gripping story it is, you just want to keep turning the pages to see what is going to happen next.

After receiving a letter from a retired FBI agent claiming to know about her father's death, Kaitlyn and Luke go and visit him, but while on a hike they came across a dead woman, and Kaitlyn promised her son that she would find out who killed his mother.

As the FBI and police are closing in on the serial killer, will they actually catch him and get him to admit to the murders? The twists and turns keep coming, just when you think that's it, you get another twist.

I love this series it is so well written, and leaves you wanting more at the end of every one.

Gone Forever picks up where Gone Too Soon ended. Detective Kaitlyn Carr and her FBI boyfriend, Luke, are still in the Pacific NW where Kaitlyn was lured with the promise of learning about her father's death. Of course, that knowledge would come with a stipulation. While there, Kaitlyn stumbled on a body, which in turn, led to learning of a possible serial killer. Kaitlyn is unable to let it go, especially after the son of the woman whose body she found, comes to her asking for help.

This story draws you in and has you turn page after page until you reach the end. The twists, turns, suspense and drama will keep you engaged to the end.

Gone Forever: A gripping and addictive crime Mystery thriller( A Detective Kaitlyn Carr Mystery Book

OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!! I absolutely loved this book, it was truly amazing and scary in its own right. It is scary to think that a serial killer could live very close to where I grew up and that he could get away with murder for so long. But it is also very believable, because murders do it all the time. I could not believe how many people he claimed to have killed and that he started way earlier than you would have expected. I can't wait for the next book. Thank you for keeping me thinking and trying too solve these cases.

Whenever Kaitlyn is involved in a case, you cane be sure that the author keeps her involved until the end. She is still trying to help a retired FBI agent solve a series of murders. These murders have spanned several years. Even when it seems like the perpetrator is going to get caught, something happens and the perpetrator gets away for a time. I love how this author always makes every person in the novel very human. They all have problems and issues and are trying to cope through the horrors they experience. A must read if you have been following Kaitlyn’s story.

Kate Gable does it again!

Another unputdownable book! Kaitlyn Carr is at it again. She and her FBI agent boyfriend travel to the Pacific Northwest to visit a man who says he knows her father did not commit suicide and has proof. While there she discovers a body that launches an investigation into a serial killer that her new found friend has researched. Be there for the surveillance and take down. A real page turner!

Good Story, but...

I liked this story a lot. Good resolution for the characters, with a satisfying ending. Also I liked spending time with Kaitlyn's sister Violet as she is showing strong recovery from her trauma in previous books in the series. Sweet!

Only issue I have is that the editing still needs work, especially at the line editing level. Sometimes the errors are distracting.

All in all, a worthwhile read!

This book is a close follow on to the last book Gone too Soon. We needed this book as there were lots of unanswered questions from book 6. Kate is very clever the way she writes and things pop up that you had read and didn’t even realise the significance of it at the time. A lot of loose ends are tied up in this book but it still leaves you waiting to see what happens to Kaitlyn and Luke next.

A good read. Kaitlyn Carr gets herself in some situations. I was glad to see her and her sister connecting again and that Luke is still in her life. This was a good story, but I was thrown when Bree and Freida were tossed in the left hanging until later. Glad Kaitlyn was able to connect with Andrew and help him deal with his grief. Looking forward to the next book

A letter from a former FBI agent had brought Kaitlyn to the Northwest but she had to return to her own job. She received a call from Anthony, a teenager whose mother was killed and she returned to help bring down the serial killer. Didn't want to put it down! Well written

Decent read, went quickly. I wasn’t the biggest fan of a few chapters, the random mention of a McFadden character threw me off about halfway through. Ready for book 8 to determine what happens with Kaitlyn Carr

Inconsistent

I have liked the series overall but have found there to be several inconsistencies from previous books and also within the book. Did the author think the reader wouldn’t notice the differences?
