The art is weak, it is true that the story line makes sense, but the characters are still not that strong or lovalable, and the story of the separation of the fl and the ml didn't make much sense in my opinion.

The manhwa is actually not finished yet, so I am waiting for season 4 but I still want to give a little review.

First of I didn’t read the novels and I don’t plan to either, for me this manhwa was such a gem!
I honestly didn’t think i would enjoy it that much but I absolutely did! I was invested from the first second and loved the whole story line.
I absolutely adore Theore. It was such a satisfying feeling to see Kaizen getting redemption arc!
Also can we please appreciate how caring and understanding he was to Theore?! Man this really melted my heart💓!!
I hope that Kaizen, Astelle and adorable Theore can live happily and in peace and everyone get their desired happy ending! (Well certainly not for the trashy father thought lol)

This shit? Now this shit was good. I just finished season 1 and DAMN. I love this. I love how the mmc didn’t immediately figure out the kid was his and they built a relationship and bond. And honestly I like all the angst and hurt but If they don’t start talking soon I may just lose it. I don’t know how many volumes of this there is but I’ll probably rate an equal amount to what I think season 1 is. Won’t review them tho. This is the review for season 1. I honestly sincerely hope that when the emperor does find out the child is his he realizes. Or at least allows the mc to talk. About why he was hidden. How she doesn’t want her son thrown into a war and wants him to live a happy life. How he said he would protect her and he didn’t and she doesn’t trust him. I would also like to know why the mmc has a fear? Of blood. He doesn’t like seeing it on her so I think it’s a métaphore for how he doesn’t want to taint her pure energy with his dirty one. I also wish they would go more into his childhood. He has a rightful mistrust for snakes and wants to get rid of corrupt people but we don’t really know why. He. Was raised by his grandma. Like. That’s kinda all we know. His parents. Or at least his mom. Is dead. And we also see one panel where he says he doesn’t want any more people to be sacrificed with what I assume is his child self next to his mother’s open casket. There could be. So much more. Stuff going on honestly. But alas. 50 chapters and all I got is. Vague world building. I hope it gets better because I really do like where it’s heading.

I was hooked right off the bat. Even though it is obvious the Emperor did it for a good reason and he is still in love with Astelle, I didn't care. I wanted to watch them realize their love for one another. Theo is the stinking cutest. When the Emperor tried to stop him from crying after the dead bear incident, I lost it, ha.

I liked the artwork. Some scenes were so beautiful that the characters just had flowers around them. I also really enjoyed Astelles' confidence and witt. She was born to be an Empress. Even Marian grew on me. It's not often you get to see a spoiled brat blossom into such a badass.

Well, that's all the good things. So I read, and I read, and after 100 chapters, I realized I would never get to see the romance grow like it should. It was super pg and closed door to the point where I think they might have kissed twice..... maybe. Also, the parents needed to put a bell on that child. He was always getting kidnapped. Literally, every few chapters, something super drastic was happening because the romance sure wasn't.

Maybe if you just liked political intrigue, you might like this manga, but honestly, the story didn't make sense at times. I'm not sure if it was due to poor translation or the author. I just really wanted to see these two people reconnect, and I feel like I had to take 50 side quests to see a little glimpse of what I wanted. I finally just gave up around chapters 110. I've read complaints that the manga strays from the novel. If so, I might try it instead.

Absoluter Überraschungshit💕

Ich war mir ehrlich gesagt unsicher, ob mir das Thema des Webtoons gefallen wird, wurde aber sowas von Überrascht! Astelle hat sich als einer meiner Lieblingsneustarts des aktuellen Programms herausgestellt!
Die Intrigen & Geheimnisse, Dynamiken und Funken, die anhaltende Spannung und die unglaublich tolle Protagonistin machen diesen Titel zu einem absolutem Hit!
Ich hab beim Lesen so mitgefiebert und liebe die sich langsam anbahnende Romance total! Bestimmt ist da einiges nicht so wie es scheint🌚 Und auch die politische Lage finde ich äußerst Interessant, verständlich und spannend! Es werden Nebenfiguren mit besonderen Verstrickungen angeteasert und ich bin sicher der Geschichte wird es nicht an Handlung fehlen! Noch dazu bin ich doll in die Hauptcharaktere verliebt und natürlich auch Astelles Sohn! Die Reihe wird glaube ich richtig gut & ich kann es nicht erwarten sie weiter zu verfolgen💕😍

Lange habe ich mit mir gerungen, ob ich eine weitere Reihe zu meinem Lesestapel hinzufügen soll. Und was soll ich sagen? Meine Neugierde hat gewonnen. Aber ich habe es ehrlich gesagt, kein Stück bereut. Die Geschichte ist sehr interessant und ich mag die Charaktere, auch wenn niemand bisher wirklich zu seinen Gefühlen steht.

Der Kaiser an sich scheint erst grausam, dann gefühllos. Doch erlebt man ihn mit dem kleinen Theore und weiß, dass hinter all seinen bisherigen Taten triftige Gründe stehen müssen. Ich bin schon sehr gespannt, wie er die Beziehung zu seiner "Ex-Frau" kitten will und wie er eine Beziehung zu seinem Sohn aufbauen will. Denn Kaisen ist durchaus bewusst, dass Theore nicht der Neffe seiner Ex-Frau ist.

Terminé la segunda temporada. En resumen, el papa es despreciable que quiere usar a su hija para ser emperador, acaba de hacer un juicio para culpar a la princesa de Persia que quiere ser concubina de fingir un crimen y hubo un momento entre los protagonistas. Theore es un amor y me niego a que le pase nada. Dejaremos el Manhwa marinando otro año y volveré en el 2024 a ver en qué termina todo. Hasta ahora, me gustó la historia y siento que los cambios que hicieron de la novela original fueron buenos, la historia avanzó más rápido y no hubo relleno pero con ello la trama también y ahora no se como terminará todo *suspiro profundo”.

I am an absolute sucker for the hidden pregnancy/secret baby trope! This manhwa has a morally-grey cast of characters with lots of political intrigue and a very subtle romance subplot. I loved baby Theore and Astelle’s dynamic as mom and son. They’re so cute! We have a very cunning and smart former empress for an FMC. Her characterization was written nicely because she wasn’t easy to manipulate and wasn’t a pushover. Kaizen is also a nice MMC, very much a 🚩 but trust the process. Their chemistry is perfect! They’ve known each other for nearly 20 years and I find that so sweet because they grew up together. The author ensured that the plot was never boring and I love that.

Ich habe die deutsche Übersetzung, Astelle und der geheime Sohn des Kaisers gelesen, aber finde die passende Edition dazu irgendwie nicht lol. Ich bin noch etwas unentschlossen, ob ich es genug mag, um mir später einen weiteren Band zu kaufen. Ich mag einzelne Elemente (die Szenen mit dem Kind, Theore & die Mutter-Kind Beziehung) aber es gibt auch viele stereotypischen Charakter-Figuren sowie Plotpunkte und ich bin mir nicht sicher, ob sich das genug für meinen Genuss ausgleicht.

the emperor was pretty toxic at the start. i didn’t like him because of how he acted while the female lead just wanted a happy life. astelle, upon finding out she’s pregnant, left secretly and kept her son’s secret. years later, the truth still caught up with them and the emperor found his runaway empress and son.

it was okay, i stayed until the end because i wanted to see how things unfolded.

La ilustración es maravillosa y la lectura se pasa volando.
Estuve super enganchada a esta historia, me gustó bastante, aunque, enserió quería pegarle a los protagonistas por su falta de comunicación. Me alegre cuando la cosa se resolvió (aunque tarde) y estoy feliz con como terminó todo... pese a que siento que hay cosas que se resolvieron como de manera vaga o no se le dio mucha importancia.

A page-turner story. Just like Astelle & Theore, I too, cant sit still thruout my reading. Tho the final arc got me confused for a moment, I’m happy with the punishments given by Astelle. Truly a queen. Theore, I love you, you cutie pie. Kaizen, I love you too although you are too dense for your own good 😂

Theore is so cute.
The main characters are mega. The emperor is cool even if he seems aloof and I'm curious why.Astelle is not naive and like the usual princesses and I love what she does for Theore and how far she goes to protect him. It makes you wonder if she will make it and how scared she is for her child. She doesn't give in, she's smart and honest and I think she fits so well with Kaisen.

Read the whole series at once. The MCs are a bit frustrating. Their break up made no sense, and much of the MC relationship issues really boiled down communication problems. The ML is a bit of a cold idiot. The FL was weak and eventually got her act together. If you’re looking for something easy to read this series is it.
