Nice book for learning basic Russian!

However, I found the dialogues included pretty boring and mechanical, and the exercises leave a lot to be desired. They also contain some errors, like not matching up correctly with the answer keys, but I'll just assume they were making sure I was paying attention and I passed :).

Overall, some more focus on pronunciation in the alphabet chapter would be nice. It is deceptively tricky to learn decent speaking/pronunciation in Russian. The grammar explanations also aren't my favorite. Still, using this book in tandem with other resources really did give me a nice base.

Probably one of the best books on the market for Russian language students. Challenging yet lovely.
