The weakest members of the community are at risk… children.
DI Sara Ramsey has never dealt with a case so perplexing and finds herself battling her inner demons in her hunt for a child abductor.
What motive can the kidnapper possibly have for attacking mothers and stealing their babies, often in broad daylight?
When a witness drops a huge bombshell that turns the investigation on its head, Sara is left reeling and has to push herself to the limits in order to solve the case without putting the children in further danger.

Book 20 - wow - and still as fresh as the proverbial daisy! We start at a mother and baby unit, then one of the new mothers leaves to have a picnic, and then tragedy strikes as she is attacked and her baby stolen. As you can imagine, all hell brakes loose, the golden hour and all that... but to no avail. Sara, Carla and the team are drafted in to investigate but every stone they turn gives them little help... And then another baby is taken, and then another attempt, and Sara and Carla are drowning... and things start to get tricky between them... It's definitely make or break time, and they still have babies to find and bring home, and a kidnapper to arrest... Oh my days, this book was on a different level. I guess cos it was the nature of the crime that added seasoning to the usual high quality of plotting and execution. No one like anything bad happening to children, and these are babies so the vulnerability is higher, not to mention the state the new mothers are left in... Very emotional, and this in turn takes its toll on the understaffed, overworked police trying to bring the missing babies home. Everything else I want and need from a book is also front and centre here. Pacing is good, characters are spot on and there is, as usual, no waffle or padding. The banter however is more sniping and argumentative rather than standard banter which, as already mentioned, reflects the toll the current state of the force is having on the good coppers trying to do their jobs. Which mirrors what is happening in the real world, sadly. And the ending, when it eventually comes, is both shocking and satisfying. All in all, another winner from another favourite series and author. Roll on next time.
Obviously there wouldn’t be a story if there weren’t crimes being committed but I can’t help feeling sorry for Sara and her team. They are constantly on the go and in each book in the series they have a major crime to investigate. This one is no exception and when it involves young babies, well it will have your heart racing.
I could easily envision what these mothers were going through. If you have ever lost sight of your child for a few moments and that awful feeling you get, I could imagine it being one hundred times worse when the realisation hits that they have actually gone. I was praying through out that these babies would come to no harm and would be reunited with their mothers soon.
Things between Sara and Clara are quite tense in this book. They both have quite strong personalities and they seem to be clashing a bit lately. It must be hard as they spend so much time together as partners, probably more than with their other half’s in their personal lives, that it’s understandable that they can get on each others nerves but it’s good to see them putting their differences to the side to get cracked on with the case.
Evil Intent is a chilling page-turner that you won’t want to put down until you reach the finale. Anything to do with children in a crime book always has me more on edge and this makes for a nail-biting read. The urgency to solve the case comes through with the pacing and tension and makes it yet another winning read in this great series!
My thanks to the author for an advanced readers copy of this book. All opinions are my own and not biased in anyway.
I started to read this book last night and it had me well and truly hooked, finishing the book off in the early hours of this morning. I do love this series and had decided that I needed to catch up on the books I had missed to get back up to speed with the team and their cases.
I thought that the plot for the story was great, it was certainly a thriller as you follow the ups and downs of the cases as they develop. This is quite a hard-hitting book and what happens to the characters in the book is any mum’s worst nightmare and I couldn’t imagine what a parent would be going though should that happen so I think that the author did a great job with their feelings.
I loved the characterisation and the different mix of personalities and the dynamics of the relationships as well. The book has quite a bigger focus on those rather than just the crimes as well which is a great touch, as the topic has the risk of becoming very heavy – I think the author handled it with compassion and the book was very well written
It is another 5 stars read for me in the DI Ramsey series with this one – the series is one that keeps on giving and getting stronger and stronger too – very highly recommended!
Just how sick and twisted is the author's brain to have come up with such a fiendishly disturbing plot?!
This is a case that really affected DI Sara Ramsey and her team, given it involved the snatching of babies, and absolutely no idea who is doing it, what their motive might be, or if they babies will even still be alive.
It's horrible to think of the crimes, and to have them stolen in broad daylight is even more disturbing and I suspect this could make it rather tricky for anyone with a young child themselves to read.
I was in awe of the team as they kept trying everything they could think of, to attempt to work out just what going on in this case. I was totally hooked from the first few pages, and couldn't read this fast enough, as I needed to know how everything would turn out.
I can't believe this is the 20th book in the series, it feels like only yesterday that we were first introduced to these characters, and yet I also can't wait for the next book. It's fabulous, as is everything this author writes.
Thank you to the author for this copy which I have reviewed honestly and voluntarily.
Evil intent....... What a fantastic read in the next DI Sara Ramsey series. M.a. comley does it again. When a baby goes missing in the park and the mother is knocked out, sara and the team are called in to investigate, no leads are forthcoming until a lady goes to the policestation to tell sara she saw a man abduct the baby. All they have to do is find the man...... is it ever that simple???? The team goes round in circles, the case really getting to sara. When a second baby goes missing in a supermarket car park. Then, a third baby is abducted, and the public are on Sara's back to solve the crime. Can They do it? Before another baby is taken? highly recommend the DI Sara Ramsey series, twists, turns, it had I DIDNT SEE THAT COMING moments. The author certainly knows how to capture a readers attention, i can't wait for the next DI, Sara Ramsey book its a 5 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 read from me xx
When a young mother takes her baby to the park for a picnic she is distracted after a phone call ...hit over the head and her baby is abducted ...When Di Sara Ramsey and DS Carla Jameson are informed they immediately jump on the case , with Sara making the decision to call a press conference...Within days another baby is abducted..though Sara and her team are working around the clock tensions rise as no leads come forward ...just what kind of monster are they dealing with ? Ar points there were divided opinions between Sara and Carla both with the best interests for the missing babies...When a witness comes forward the team find themselves under even more pressure ...but Sara Ramsey is a both undaunted in her task .....and will leave no stone unturned in her quest to find the missing babies...5 stars ...Another Gripping read ....
When a baby is kidnapped and her mother, assaulted, Sara and the team are in for one heck of a complicated case.
The kidnapper is blasé, to the point of grabbing babies in broad daylight!
As the cases rumble on, Sara and Carla end up bickering quite a lot from the stress they are under.
This one was hard to read, being a mother, it pulled massively at my heartstrings. The not knowing why these babies were being taken, led to an intense and powerful read.
Well done to the author for even entertaining such a difficult and sensitive plot.
As with all this author’s books, I was gripped from the first page and hated having to put it down. Some of the characters were downright evil and that made this story even more dark.
Another fantastic book in the DI Sara Ramsay series can you believe Number 20 & each one better than the previous. A baby is kidnapped on Sara’s watch , the mother who was hit on the head,is distraught as one can imagine. Sara & her team swing into action. But without much to go on it seems a high mountain to climb. Before they’ve even caught their breath another baby abduction happens, this time at a nearby pharmacy. The kidnappings are starting to mount up & with the stress that the whole team are under it’s no wonder that Sara & Carla are fighting with each other. Another great story written superbly by this author, a difficult read for any mother out there.
Evil Intent MA Comley 🌠🌠🌠🌠🌠 DI Sara Ramsey Book 20

This book was very well written. It had excellent details but not so many one gets lost or bored in reading them. The reader can honestly feel the emotional upheaval Sara and her partner went thru trying to find all the babies with no leads to go on. If I could give it more than 10 stars I would. I have struggled so much over this last year with my concentration but not with this book. Once I started I could not put it down. I read the whole story in just a few hours. I know you hear people say this a lot but with this book it is so true. It is fast paced from the beginning to the end and is so so good. I promise you this is an amazing book.Just buy it, and sit back and enjoy the ride ! I promise you will like this wonderful book, I can’t rate this one highly enough. If only there were ten stars, it’s that good. M.A Comley is a master story-teller. Anything with her name on it is amazing. I can not get enough of her books.
This is book 20 in the DI Sara Ramsey series and this series just keeps getting better and better!
A mother is assaulted and her baby taken, it’s a race against time to get her back home safely. The situation becomes increasingly tense when more babies are snatched! Who is doing this and why? Can Sara and team find the perpetrators and retrieve the babies unharmed? In a car that sees Sara really out of her comfort zone and struggle with the lack of progress will Justice prevail!
Another epic storyline in this fantastic series. Highly recommend.
Ooh, Evil Intent is such an appropriate title for this DI Sara Ramsey case. Another thrilling story in the series. Once again, another cracking cover which nicely sets the tone for what’s ahead. I enjoyed the ongoing Sara and Carla threads as well as getting reacquainted with the team.
I love the familiarity as I’m right there, once again, with the regular characters. The actual case was a scary one. Anything involving kidnapped babies could be nothing less. Those poor characters. It was tense, fast and another nail biter!
Started this book at 10pm read through till early hours as I couldn’t wait to find out what happened! Sara and Carla seemed to be walking a thin line between each other this time. Things getting to them. Thought to be honest this case would or should get to anyone who was dealing with it. Children taken and not a lot to go by. They definitely had things to battle. Excellent storyline and really had to finish it in one.
Found the language hard to cope with, like it was trying to use the right words but not what you would say in a conversation e.g. Sprogs ,found the detectives a bit slow and feeble just odd ,this book was not for me love a good crime thriller sorry this was lacking in all departments,
This was a change for DI Sara and her Tram. Wonder if he gave her thoughts about starting a Family? I think Sara and Mark would be excellent parents. She’s a go getter for sure. Happy that DIc Price offered Sara some time off the recharge. Really enjoyed this book. Thank again for such a great read!!
You might find yourself having a lot of emotions for these families who are having their babies stolen. Ms. Comley keeps it precise and leans on the public for information. The tips are thin until...then she might be kicking herself if she doesn't act and quickly.
If I didn't know this was book 20, I'd think it was a first offering. Characters lacked depth, procedure poorly researched, story lacked pace and detail. At least it was free, but won't be reading the others. Disappointing.
Another excellent story by M A Volley in the Sara Ramsey series with all the usual characters. A Great storyline with plenty of twists and turns and a frustrating one for the Inspector. Looking forward to reading more in the series.
