These days, it’s harder than ever to know how to act like a real man. We’re not talking about the touchy-feely, ultra-sensitive, emotion-sharing, not-afraid-to-cry version of manhood that Oprah and Dr. Phil have been spouting for years. We’re talking about the though, smart, confident, charming, classy, all-around good fella that upholds the true ideal of what is known as “a man’s man.”
Now, renowned actor and true-life man’s man Frank Vincent, famed for his unforgettable tough-guy roles in such classic films as Raging Bull , Goodfellas and HBO’s The Sopranos , is going to show how any man can be all that he can be in love, work, play, and life. Everything you need to know is covered here, including, getting the best women by being the best man, dressing like a champ and taking on the world, winning big money and big respect in Las Vegas, selecting, smoking, and savoring a great cigar, and much more.
If you want to learn how to be a man’s man, you gotta learn from a man’s man. And with the great Frank Vincent vouching for you, you’ll be on your way to getting everything you ever wanted outta life.
Frank Vincent has an ego if any man has one. If you dress like him, smoke his cigars, drink his scotch, treat women like him, watch his favorite movies and listen to his music like Frank Sinatra, keep your car clean and go to the best resturants, you will become a man's man. On the plus side, there were some great recipies in the book for Italian food!
A funny and enjoyable read. I've seen Casino, Goodfellas, and The Sopranos numerous times so Frank Vincent's voice was in my head as I read this. Good information about cigars and alcoholic beverages (if that's your thing). I like the overall theme of the book: have respect for others including yourself; treat others with class and dignity. Not a bad book and I think I'll try a dirty martini and a cigar one day!
This book is incredibly funny and has some great information in it. I really liked the section on cigars, which I find very helpful when I make my smoke shop runs.
Funny in some spots, informative in fewer (but don't tell Frank I said that). Being a Sopranos fan, I thought it might include a bit more about how that's perceived in the world of "wiseguys", but nothing really. More of how to be "a man's man" in the Goodfellas era (1970s I think?) in New York or Philly. Read it on a lark, and thought my sons might get a kick out of it. But I live in Florida in 2023...
A book I’ve had for many years. I always remember bits of it. The important thing is that you have to go into it knowing there’s a lot of humour and tongue-in-cheek. Frank is clearly having fun with this. But there are some really good nuggets that you can take away. It definitely may not be peoples tastes, but I like it.
I am a big fan of Frank Vincent, a superb actor, specializing in mob / crime roles, and that was the only reason why I read this book. I don't think it's meant to be read too seriously, and the best part is really when he lists down his favorite movies by genre.
Enjoyable read and very short. Finished it in two days. It's mildly funny, but to be honest I just gave a chance because it was (supposedly) written by Frank Vincent.
what can I say I'm huge soprano's and Phil leotardo fan so I had to grab his book its a fun little walk through all things manly lol and it was only 2 dollars.
