Learning Roots has definitely redeemed itself with the book "The Amazing Muslim Worlds."

As a child-friendly (and thus heavily sanitized) introduction to the wide geography of Islamic history, this book does its job quite well - way better than anything I ever had as a kid!

The book covers most significant Muslim dynasties around the world (excluding the Fatimids and Safavids, for obvious reasons lol)... and the illustrations and the text both make a point of mentioning significant women figures from these eras, which I have never seen before from kids Muslim history books!

My only quibble is that "Rashidun" is already a plural word, so saying "Righteous Rashiduns" made my eyeball twitch angrily. Also nothing is sourced/ cited which is... bad for non-fiction. (Yes, it all tracks with what I know of Islamic history, but it really ought to have a bibliography.)

Other than that... definitely a must-buy for your home/ madrasah/ masjid/ school library!

Such a beautiful children’s book that I enjoyed myself as an adult. My child loves to read this at bedtime and takes her time looking at all the details in the pictures.

Beautiful illustrations and an easy read which inspires young minds. Lots of wonderful historical facts that you don’t always hear or read about, celebrating the contributions from people all over the world, appreciation of different cultures and learning from each other, written in a captivating storytelling manner with pockets of reminders/advice. I absolutely loved this book and have been looking for a children’s book just like this for years. I am definitely excited to read other titles from this author.
