Wow, for a short story this was awesome. This is the first of Trisha Wolfe's stories I have read. I was totally pulled in from the beginning. I love stories with action and romance.

The Kingdom of Karm is supposed to protect it's people from the Outside, the wasteland. King Hart rules Karm. Fallon is a Rebel sent on a mission to dispose of one of Karm's men. During her mission she questions her leaders intentions and wonders what Xander has done to be placed with a death wish. Micha, Fallon's leader, had taken her in when she was 10 because her mother died from the virus.

On Fallon's mission she realizes that this was her personal test to prove her allegiance to the Rebels. It didn't feel right to her though.

She soon finds out that Micha had sent a plant, a man by the name Larkin, to watch Fallon and make sure she did what was ordered. Fallon has fallen somewhat for Xander and she decides to confront Micha about this mission.

In the end, Fallon ends up wearing the ring marking her the chosen leader of the Rebels.

Even though this is a short story, It is very well written and easily pulls you in. The lavish details and the quick chemistry between Fallon and Xander didn't make me want to gag. I actually found it perfectly executed for such a story.

There was lots of action and enough peaking romance that I couldn't NOT want to read this. I look forward to reading more of Ms. Wolfe's stories.

How can a book so short be so good! This novella was exactly my cup of tea - a dystopian setting, an oppressive government with a rebel movement in the rises, lots of action, a girl who can kick butt and the beginnings of a romance. The only thing is I wish it was a longer. But there's hope. In the bio at the end, it says Wolfe is "currently working on a novel with the characters from UNVEILED." I can't wait.

Well, right now, all I can say is that I want more. Please. More!

Unveiled is a door to an enthralling new world, that right now, I am dying to explore. Karm. There's surely a lot more to it that lies beyond its mystified walls.

To serve as promotion to an upcoming full book, this novelette is, without a doubt, a success :)

Unveiled by Trisha Wolfe was thrilling. That is one of the only words I can use to describe the world Trisha Wolfe has created. This book will have you on the edge of your seat from the very first page, to the very last sentence.
When I first heard about Unveiled, I was on Twitter. I saw one of my friends had posted a review of Unveiled up on their blog. I fell in love with the summary of this novelette, so I Tweeted Trisha. She then offered me a free copy—because she’s a pimp like that—in exchange for an honest review. As you can tell, I took her up on that offer. Am I ever glad I did!

From the very first page of Unveiled, I was hooked. This short story is told from the point of view of seventeen year old Fallon, a girl who was trained to be an assassin her whole life. Then, she meets Xander, a knight of the king’s Force, and also her first mark. The only problem? She makes for one crummy assassin when she can’t even bring herself to kill him.
Let me just start by saying: Wow. I expected for this to be good, but not great. It was amazing. I loved the two main characters, Fallon, our heroine, and Xander, our knightly hero. Fallon had a very unique voice. She was strong, witty, cool and confident; but not overly so. She had a vulnerable side while still being in control of her emotions, which I liked about her.
Xander was adorable while still being cool and tough. I think I fell for him before he spoke his first lines!
What I liked most about these characters was the depth Ms.Wolfe has given them. You can’t help but feel for them; living in a world where thinking outside the box is unheard of, and one wrong move could be your last.

I loved the Dystopian world in which Unveiled took place. It was dark, dangerous, and sinister. I also loved the historical elements of this novel as well. The ballroom scene which starts this story off was great, and the formal speech that the characters speak with really set this apart from others of its kind.
Romantic, deadly, and action packed—Unveiled is not a story you would want to miss. I don’t know how Trisha did it—she packed so much action, romance, and plot-line into such a short story—and it works. These characters are still so vivid in my mind—I need to know what happens to them!

Buy this book. Read this book and fall in love with it. If you don’t completely love this story after the first chapter, well—we’re through! I don’t know what could possibly be wrong with you.
Trisha Wolfe is an author to look out for, and I am so glad I had the chance to read this book. This was my first Trisha Wolfe book, and it most certainly will not be my last.
"I'm sure a man of your station has the girls falling all over themselves." I wedge my hands between me and the tree, gripping the bark. Then I arch my back, accentuating my curves. He takes a step toward me. "There have been a couple," he says, taking another step closer. "But none like you." -Unveiled

I am excited to announce that Trisha Wolfe will be dropping by my blog for an interview! More details to come!

Unveiled is a short dystopian story. I am actually shocked at how small the book is, but yet it's jammed packed with awesomeness. It has everything and more you would expect from a Dystopian novel. You would think from looking at the cover that it takes place back in like the 1800's, but it actually takes place in the year 2130. The world has been destroyed by a war and Fallon and her people now live behind a barrier that keeps them hidden and everyone is taught to act like it’s the 1800's. Fallon is a rebel. She is trained to fight and kill. Only she questions everything and always has a slight doubt about things. When she is sent to kill one of the King's knights without an explanation, she doesn't hesitate to take the job. Only when she meets him for the first time she can't help but wonder why they want him dead. After having one conversation with him she realizes he thinks and wants almost the same things as her.

After that it just gets even crazier and more exciting. I really wish this story was 300 to 400 pages long. It was just great in every way and I want more. One of the good things about a story being so short is that it gets right to the point and Trisha Wolfe did just that. I also really liked the romance between the two main characters. I was worried with it being such a short story that it would be rushed or that I wouldn't feel any chemistry between them, but there is lots of chemistry and their relationship moved at a very good pace.

Unveiled is a great story if you want to read something quick and super entertaining. I am now a fan of Trisha Wolfe and can't wait to read some more of books.

5 out of 5 stars!

Firstly, I’d like to say thank you to the author for asking me to review this book because without her asking me I don’t think I would ever have found out about it and I’m so glad I did.

Unveiled is about a young girl Fallon who is an assassin. When she is given a job to go and kill a young knight, she doesn’t question it. You never question your job. But when Fallon meets Xander she feels something isn’t right and can’t help question why has she been sent to kill this knight. With secrets surrounding her and a plant closing in on her, things are about to become interesting….and dangerous.

Unveiled is a fast paced novelette that compels you from start to finish. You’re sucked into to an amazing world that Trisha Wolfe has created and it only leaves you wanting more.

With it being a novelette, it’s short but boy was it packed with excitement. I love both Fallon and Xander and you instantly like them because they are really likable characters and you can’t help root for them. It’s very fast paced but it touches you that they have this undeniable attraction and you can honest feel the chemistry between them.

As you can tell I really enjoyed everything about this story but I say this, a short story is a short story so don’t over think when you read it otherwise you won’t enjoy it, it is what it is and I believe Trisha did a great job and I can’t wait to read more of her work.

Wow, this is so good! I NEED more of this story! Like...right now! :)

Review: I am really crossing my fingers that Trisha publishes a full book of this story because it is amazing! Unveiled is a short story but one that really packs a punch! This story was unique because it was a dystopian with a "past" type of setting of Karm, with castles and knights and beautiful dances.

Trisha managed to make me love the characters in a short period of time. Fallon is strong, well beyond her 17 years, but her kindness can't help but show when she meets Xander, the knight she was sent out to kill. Fallon is an assassin on her very first mission and the last thing she wants to do is fail. But something tells her that maybe there is a mistake because Xander doesn't seem like much of a threat. And as she gets to know him, a connection starts to form that she never expected.

Fallon and Xander are fabulous characters. I could easily see their passions about what they believe to be right and wrong. Even within Karm's walls, they both wonder about the world, and that is something no one in Karm is allowed to do.

I must read more of this story! It's just too good of an idea to not turn into a 300+ page novel. Intense action and suspense, sizzling romance, engaging plot, wonderful setting, this short story has it all! I can't wait to read more from Trisha Wolfe!

For such a short story I totally fell in love with the characters. Fallon and Xander are dynamic, and they are thinkers in a world where it's discouraged. I love the difference they made in their journey together.
It started with her aiming to kill him, but she starts thinking for herself when she makes a few mistakes and gets into a conversation with him. It turns out that he has a sharp mind, and that he explores outside the boundaries that the king of their dystopian universe sets out.
They are from two different parts and functions in this world and I love how their stories tie together and begin to change the future.
It really takes talent to make me smile, fan myself from steam, and care for characters in a short amount of pages, but Trish did it and I am looking forward to and crossing my fingers that there are more pages in their future.

I just finished with UNVEILED and wow, Trisha Wolfe did a fantastic job with this story! It's not easy building an entire world and intriguing characters in less than 50 pages, but the author did so with style. Unveiled is a fast-paced, action-packed, romantic story that'll leave you asking, "What happens next for Xander and Fallon?"

I love Trishia's female leads, they are tough yet relateable. Capable and strong (and ass-kicky!) but still emotionally vulnerable and human. Nice short story intro to a dystopian world.

I was lucky enough to read a rough draft of Trishia's full length novel, Destiny's Fire, and this short story has a similar feel to it. Highly recommend!

To be posted on PageTurnersBlog:

Fallon has been given a mission. Her first. She's told to kill one of the king's knights, Xander, and prove her loyalty to the Rebels and the woman who has raised her.

But to Fallon's dismay, when she meets her mark, an unbidden attraction springs up between them. Despite being a knight of the Force, Xander too wonders at what lies Outside. And he's never heard of the Rebels.

So why do they want him dead?

I love a good dystopian and though it's not a novel, the novelette Unveiled definitely fits that criteria. I am so very glad that Page Turners Blog was contacted for a review and that I was lucky enough to be able to read it!

The world that Trisha Wolfe has created is certainly intriguing. It's futuristic, but harkens back to an earlier time simply because the King has commanded it so. Both the history-lover and dystopian drama queen in me loved it.

I also found the characters of both Fallon and Xander to be utterly absorbing. Fallon wants so badly to prove herself and will do almost anything to do so. And Xander is both adorable and gallant, ever the gentlemen. Even when Fallon is doing her damnedest to kill him.

My one quibble is that Xander and Fallon seem to progress from attraction to full-blown relationship status awfully quickly. It only takes a couple of days. I would have liked to see more of development personally. But it didn't detract from my overall enjoyment of the story.

This novelette is fast-paced and absolutely jam-packed with action, intrigue, twists and turns. In the course of a night, life as Fallon knew it is turned on its ear and she must move forward with new knowledge and responsibilities.

I look forward to reading the upcoming novel set in this world and more of Trisha Wolfe's work. Unveiled was short, but riveting.

My Summary:

Fallon has been sent on her first mission for the rebels. Dressed in silk (What is up with that?) and dancing is not quite what she would have preferred for a first mission but she needs to prove herself to the rebels. No questions, just do it. She’s capable, having trained since she was eleven. Her mentor thinks she's ready and the King is wrong. There has to be a better way than this sick utopian bubble where the virus takes everyone eventually. All she has to do is kill one knight who has…, what has he done to deserve to die?

My thoughts:

5 stars – a must read

I'm not normally a short story kinda girl. I like novels but I picked this one up and I'm glad I did. What a craft to be able to create a world and characters that I care about in just a few pages. Trisha did it though. Very quickly, I understood this dystopican world of the future where the Earth has been destroyed for the most part. I met a rebellion that wants to move forward not backwards. I really enjoyed how the world building came together as the story progressed at a dance. There were well developed characters that quickly become favorites. I love Fallon for her strong will and determination but most of all for her thinking. She thinks for herself. I love that. Xander is also a free thinker and he watches the stars when it’s against the rules. Love that. Guess I’m a little bit of a rebel myself. There were even a couple surprises and a twist I didn't see coming. Not an easy task for a short story.

Great characters, great plot, great world building, quick read - pick up this ebook. It’s fabulous.

My Rating: 5.0 / 5

First thoughts:
I'm very happy that I received a review e-copy of Unveiled, because even though it's a short story, it was a fantastic read and totally captivated me. Trisha Wolfe created a wonderful and very interesting world that I would love to see more of.

More detailed:
Unveiled is a short story set in a very intriguing world since it combines a somewhat historical setting with a dystopian future; I have never read anything like this before and I would love to find out more about this world. It's both, beautiful and scary and I can imagine that it would be the perfect setting for a dystopian novel.

While I usually love to read short stories that are additions to a series, it was really refreshing to read a short story with completely new characters in a new world. And despite it being very short (it didn't take more than thirty minutes to read), I could relate to the characters immediately and had no problem understanding the storyline. On top of that, the love story in Unveiled is very beautiful and relatable, too. Both, Fallon and Xander are great characters who are very likeable and it would be great to see how their story will develop in the future.

I also loved Trisha Wolfe's style of writing. This is of course the reason why getting into this short story is incredibly easy and why identifying with new characters within a few pages is possible. It's beautiful and flows easily. I'm definitely looking forward to read more of her work. All in all, Unveiled is a fantastic novelette which you definitely should take a closer look at. You won't be disappointed.

I enjoyed this short novella, though I didn’t feel like I was able to taste enough of the world to really make an opinion of it. But I did read enough to be interested in a longer novel. The story also teased out several questions for a book: . The dystopian society, built on a past time (not sure if it was one time period or a jumble – regency England? King Arthur’s court?), was intriguing, and I’d like to learn more about that as well. I think part of my problem with this short story was that I was genuinely suspicious of Xander for much of the tale. He just seemed too nice, and Fallon was clearly someone who was playing a double game, so I assumed that he was as well. It wasn’t until the very end when it became clear that he didn’t have a hidden agenda. Fallon came across as a strong capable character, and I’m hoping that he’ll also pop up in the future novel, giving a better sense of himself. Also, I thought that everything moved too quickly. While I don't think that just these elements could have made a full length novel, there could have been a lot more added to Xander and Fallon's story. And with the teased question, a longer tale could have been written. I guess I'm not sure why the author didn't just go for a full length book, unless she'll be working with completely different characters and wanted to get this story out of the way.

Many people love Unveiled, and I can see why. It has action, love, adventure and intrigue. And that's great. What's not so great is the fact that Unveiled has the story of a novel compressed to the size of a short novella. There was just far too much going on and no time at all for explanation.
The love (if you can even call it that) between the hero and the heroine was completely undercevelopped. To the point that I nearly wanted to throw my Kindle on the floor.
I don't want to spoil this read for anyone, but the decisions the heroine makes are completely unbelievable given the fact that she has been trained to think a certain way since she was born. So how come she suddenly thinks differently? It just doesn't make any sense at all.

The author has stated that she is currently writing a novel with the characters of Unveiled. Maybe, if she has more space for the story, The book will be better. I'm not sure yet if I will read it.

Romance, action, strong protagonist, unique premise, hot guy, fun historical feel, witty dialogue, amazing pace, pretty dresses, swoony kisses. . .

Trisha Wolfe packs so much into this short story that it blows my mind. And from the very first word, she had me hooked into her Camelot-esque story world. Fallon is an awesome fiesty protagonist, and despite the story length, we actually get to *know* her. And the love interest, Xander, is not only achingly hot, but he has depth. My only complaint about this story is probably it's strongest praise--I want more!

I've heard rumors that Ms. Wolfe plans on expanding this story world in the future and I so hope that's true. Her setting descriptions are so realistic and beautiful that I want to live in Karm--and I *need* to know more what lies beyond it.

I'll be following this author's career very closely . . .

UNVEILED is a short story with a big punch. Or I should say, a steamy punch. Wolfe has a way of creating magnetic characters who drag you in and don't let go. UNVEILED, though it's packed with action, is more of a seduction. No matter what, readers can't help following along.

I loved the movement in this story. Many shorties feel stagnant in their location, but this baby introduces readers to a unique dystopian world, then allows them to explore several different landscapes within it.

And did I mention steamy? I believe I did, but once is not enough. Like Wolfe's Twitter profile says, "I write the steamy."

Believe it peeps, believe it.

Wow! This is a fantastic novella that grabbed me from the first page and tightened its grip from there. In a short piece of work the author managed to create a world and characters that I rooted for, fell in love with, and want to learn more about. The great news, she's working on a full length novel involving these characters! I'll be pre-ordering it as soon as it's available, I loved it that much. Trust me, you want to get this wonderful bit of background on characters that will soon have a novel of their own.

I really enjoyed reading this! It was a really quick read, but it does a good job of catching the readers interest. It doesn't divulge all of Karm's secrets, but in a way I liked that because it leaves so much left for the book that I read the author was writing. The plot was interesting, and even though they moved quickly the characters were still very distinctive. I personally can't wait to read more about this world!

This was an enjoyable, quick read. Ms. Wolfe draws you into the dystopian world of Karm with smooth writing and compelling characters. Looking forward to reading more from this author.

Personally I don't usually read short stories unless they're part of an anthology or maybe a short from a series I've already read. More than that I usually hate present tense in a story but I am glad I read Unveiled. It was so much fun! And I'm excited that it probably isn't the end of Fallon's adventures. This is an awesome preview of what we can expect from Trisha Wolfe.

Unveiled Review on K-Books

Wow, what a surprise this turned out to be. I received this for review from the author months ago and I cannot believe I didn't read it until now. I was pleasantly surprised and I really hope that she plans to turn this into a series.

Fallon has a mission. Brought up to see the error of the kings ways and to fight him. When she gets her first mission, it's to kill one of the king's knights. She doesn't question it. She's been taught not to. But what if her target is innocent? The unthinkable happens making her question everything she has been brought up to believe in. What will she disobey? Her duty or her heart?

I was really surprised at this book. It is a short story, I read it in about half an hour and usually with short stories I find I don't like them as much as novels as I feel I don't have enough time to connect with the characters. Unveiled is without a doubt the exception. I really loved this story. From the first page I was drawn into this new world and I didn't want to stop reading. I was hooked and I loved the characters from the moment I met them, this doesn't happen a lot. Usually it takes me a while to like the characters but in this one I just connected with them straight away and to me, that shows what a superb author Trisha is.
I love Fallon, I loved her bravery and her indecisiveness. Throughout the story I just loved seeing her struggling between what she was feeling and what she was supposed to be doing and I thought this was such a great thing to see in such a short story. I instantly fell in love with Xander. He is so sweet and all the way through I was thinking, no she can't do it and I was completely gripped and could not put the book down until I had found out what happened.

I love the world-building in this book, I love the story-line, I love the characters. I am really ashamed that I didn't pick this book up and read it as soon as I got it for review. I really loved it and I really hope the author will decide to make this a series as the ending left me wanting more.
I will definitely be picking up the other works from this author.

First off I have to say I adore the setting of this stories world, it's a way of living from the past set in the future - with technology! Ok, I should clarify a little here, King Hart has built a 'utopia' after the world has been ravaged by a virus, except King Hart is maybe a little crazy and has made his new world to resemble the days of Camelot and everyone must live like that, think knights, big dresses and phrases like 'Good sir,' except he's merged technology with his old way of living. It's nothing I've seen before and such a great idea, it's what gives this dystopia it's edge against others.

I admit, I don't usually have the patience for short stories, I like some 'story' to my story and a lot of short ones don't have a lot of time for that to happen, that's not the case with this, it's fast paced with action, romance and there's a lot of world building in a short space of time that really gave me a feel for the place the author has created.

Fallon is instantly likable, she has a mind of her own and will question what she doesn't understand and isn't in denial when she finds things aren't how she thought they were - and she does what needs to be done.

I also liked Xander, other than the fact that he sounds so handsome, (not hot because he's a gentleman) I can just see him in his uniform - ahem - He's charming and chivalrous and did I mention handsome?

This short novelette is the introduction to a forthcoming novel that I can't wait to read!

'Trust without question. Something, I didn't realize until now, I might have a difficult time with.' - Fallon
