Blackpool is enjoyed by many, but not by DI Christie, he thinks it is a nightmare, especially when a crime wave overwhelms the Police. A murder, the wounding of a policewoman, a car chase to Manchester and the shooting of a gorilla at the zoo all add to his problems, but are all these events linked? From the author of A TIME FOR JUSTICE.
Nick Oldham was born in Belthorn, Lancashire, in 1956. He has been a police officer since the age of nineteen, spending the majority of his service in operational roles, before retiring in 2005. He lives with his partner, Belinda, on the outskirts of Preston.
The author writes at a fast and furious pace which certainly keeps one interested. The plot is very far fetched and think would have been better without so much killing and I would have liked a little happier ending . Won't say much about that as I might spoil the story. Given all that I enjoyed it and will move on in this series for sure.
Loved it - abit far fetched, actually quite alot far fetched! But well written and Mr Oldham kept my attention til the end. Looking for the next in the series!
This is another brilliant novel in the Henry Christie series. I have read a lot of books by Nick Oldham and have greatly enjoyed all of them. He doesn't seem to be that well known as an author. I will certainly look out for all his other work.
I enjoyed this fast moving pacy thriller set in Blackpool a place I know very well. At times I followed the route in my head. Police corruption was to the fore in this book. There are one or two graphic sex scenes which could offend some. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
Brilliant, I enjoyed the first in the series but this is even better. I cannot understand why this series and the author are not more popular! Will certainly read all the others in the series.
Wow what an awesome book and amazing author,,, I really enjoyed this book from the first time I started to read it and it was hard to put Down....I definitely will be reading more from this author
