The book is about the author, her life in her 70s, her thoughts, feelings and sensitivities in general, some of which exactly mirrored my sentiments too. I always liked this author for her flamboyance and perky attitude to life and womanhood and liked books about her life, more than her other fictional books. Her writing style is simple and western-desi yet stylish and enjoyable to read. 4 stars for that.

This is a food memoir of the Indian novelist Shobhaa De in which she've introduced the readers to various cuisines, cultures, festivals, parties & other social events that she enjoyed throughout the year with her family, friends & acquaintances. She also shared her thoughts, feelings & sensitivities towards personal, professional & political situations.

In an age where youths are being celebrated all around the globe, the former model is giving everyone a tough competition at the age of seventy-five! In a time where everyone's talking about heart & mental breakdowns, the socialite reminds us of the many delights that life has to offer. In a world which is full of hatred & negativities, the authoress discusses about love, hope & living life to the fullest!

It was an fun read. But you're gonna enjoy it a lot more if you are a Shobhaa De fan, which I'm not (no offence)! I don't know much about her & was not really interested in people she knows & hang around with. So it got a bit boring after a point to read about these folks. Also there are many good food/travel channels available in the market these days where you can learn about different cultures & cuisines a lot more than this book offers. So it isn't that helpful for that purpose!

But overall it was an easy, motivating & entertaining book that you may read! 📖

The book spoke to me in an odd way…Shobhaa De’s inherent honesty comes across and makes the connection with the reader…a very satisfying read….wish she writes till 90 atleast (if not 100)…quite plausible going by family genetics…
