Roman Centurions Varro, Falco, and Curio are once more embroiled in a flurry of danger and tension in Iberia. Bitter rebels eager to overthrow Roman rule threaten to turn the trio's mission on its head. They not only must battle insurgents, but also are tasked with finding thieves who stole a box of coins from the treasury -- coins they once accepted, now making them part of the crime. If they fail, the horrors of legion justice await them -- execution by their own peers.

Tension runs high in this thrilling historical fiction novel that will keep readers glued to the page. As Varro, Falco, and Curio traverse the treacherous lands of ancient Iberia, peril looms at every corner. Powerful forces conspire against them, threatening to take away their freedom--or even their lives--if they can't uncover the truth in time. Jerry grew up in a snowy New England town, then decided to move to an arid desert town. Along the way, he got married and started a family.

Jerry has been writing most of his life. He loves fast-paced, pithy stories, hopefully with a few good sword fights sprinkled within.

A writer, gaming geek, and corporate flunky, Jerry spends most of his time in cubeville. He dreams of leaving it behind one day.

Could’ve been a 5!

I am getting used to Varro’s poor decisions and Pollyanna ways of looking at the world.

He makes grievous mistakes all the time; mainly when he lets his pacifist side take over.

Good plot line, if not a little squishy when its time for personal recriminations in Varro’s cabeca.

excellent Book

I can’t get enough of this series. I hope Jerry Autieri keeps writing them. He has excellent fully developed characters, an excellent continuing story line that never loses its exciting story line and always keeps you turning pages because you have to know what is going to happen next. Great job Jerry Autieri
