A native of Cleveland, Ohio (but a diehard Michigan Wolverine fan) Father Jonathan lives in New York City where he serves in campus ministry at Columbia University, as Program Director of SiriusXM’s “The Catholic Channel”, and as an analyst for the Fox News Channel.
His most recent book is The Way of Serenity: finding peace and happiness in The Serenity Prayer.

I found this book on the "new books" shelf at the library - it is really good! I am surprised! It is very positive and it adds a great layer of God focus on the whole self help kind of book. I liked it better than any other self-help book. That said, I am not a big fan of self-help books because they seem so "I can do it by myself, thank you." They seem to leave out God, focusing instead on how you can control your own life. This is one of the few books that actually makes you feel happy just reading it. Loved it and recommend it as just a general book to read to enhance your spiritual focus in life.
Faith gives us access to the deepest realities and is the standard by which to measure everything. Happiness that leaves out the "supernatural happiness found through union with God" can limit our human flourishing and keep us from reaching toward beatitude. In our attempts to improve and overcome problems and difficulties, it is wise to untangle our emotions and then utilize faith-driven principles to integrate them onto a higher level which can foster our living for eternity too. We need to walk away from difficulties with spiritual refreshment also which helps us solve problems rather than just deal with symptoms. It also helps to put reality into perspective when we have an awareness and acknowledgement of evil in our world. Otherwise we can be too slow to turn to God's loving grace. Father Morris really provides keen insight into how we need God's help as the powerhouse for human flourishing and happiness!
The Living Faith, Living Hope, and Living Love chapters were incredible! I will read those again and again. I would almost recommend starting with those three first, and then read starting from the beginning!
Though Fr. Morris' spiritual language, in some areas are not what I am familiar with, when I try to see what he is seeing, the vision that is there is truly amazing. What a great outlook on life, and very well-balanced as well. In most cases, Fr. Morris does the yin-yang of every issue (no eastern mysticism pun intended).
Father Morris is a fox News Analyst who I generally agree. This why I original chose this book. It was a good read on Divine Cure - Living Faith, Living Hope, and Living Love. Although I found the book inspirational, it has not moved me to action - I like my comfort zone, but I do feel a bit of quilt. Maybe inspred action after I have had time to digest material. Thi smay be better than jumping in with overwhelming emotions.
I've heard Fr jonathan speak and he is a very articulate and intelligent man and his book reads just the same. I have read a lot of different self help books and religious aid or spiritual books and this is a decent effort. A little complicated for my taste, I think a lighter version with easier 'how to's would maybe work better but I'm happy I read it. I opened it several times during Adoration and there often messages I needed to hear.
I've followed Fr.Morris and his stories of redemption and self-forgiveness and this book is just about that. It's not about finding the solution to something, but rather how to understand it in God's view, with faith and love. Non-Catholics may find this book interesting and insightful, as Fr. Morris explains it's about understanding why things happen and moving on. Surprisingly great book of spirituality and helping yourself stay on course with God, our healer.
...there are several self-help books in the market... no matter how these self-help books claims... if we do not allow God's help to intervene then its gonna be a struggle and we might end-up failure.... Fr. Jonathan Morris introduces that we should live our lives in living faith, living hope and living love... the Faith-Hope-Love cure... the Divine cure...and become Junior Partners of the Holy Spirit... I highly recommend this book... this is not another self-help book... its God's help...
Filled with practical ways to heal by participating in God's grace. Fr. Morris provides a system that is easy to follow, natural, and hopeful for those who are struggling in work, relationships, and life in general. This book helps one to truly grasp the power of the Divine Cure which may not lead to the 'easy' life, but does lead to joy. Highly recommend.
God wants you happy. And to do that you have to spend time with God. Work some steps that are very similar to the 12 steps of AA. Have faith, love and hope. It seems to go along with other self help books, but in this one you are a jr partner with the Holy Spirit.
When life deals a blow, there are many ways to cope, but God's way comes straight from the Designer. Faith, Hope, and Love. Forgiveness. Sef-examination. Fr. Morris uses several real-life stories to illustrate principles. Bottom line is, I feel more hopeful after reading his book.
This book offers such encouragement and truth. I loved the insight and inspiration I received from its pages. This is a great book for clearing out limited thinking. I truly want to read this all the way through again after reading it once fairly non-stop. I couldn't put it down!
I really liked this book. I've read alot of self-help and this book really takes traditional self-help to the next level by adding in "God-help." It was just what I was looking for.
A great read and an even greater way to live each day for all of us. This book answers a lot of questions but even better brings hope for living a more joy filled life.
