Fae of Falls River #2

Moonlight Stranger

Rate this book
Desperate to save her sister from the hands of a cruel villain, Val finds herself pulled into a world of magic alongside a tempting fae who pushes every one of her buttons. Can they rescue Kat in time?

I’m not sure how I ended up in some alternate universe where fae and other immortals are hiding amongst us, but here I am.

And that's not even the worst of it. In an attempt to keep me out of trouble, my protective sister, Kat, wound up tangled in a web of mystery and crime and somehow got herself kidnapped by her new fae boyfriend’s evil twin brother.

Am I missing anything?

Oh yeah. Let’s not forget the Stranger that showed up in the midst of it all claiming to be an intricate part of mine and Kat’s past.

Now, with the help of my new fae friends and the Stranger I’m still not sure I can trust, we’re tracking Kat down with the hope of rescuing her.

But when things don’t go as planned, rescuing Kat turns into a fight to stay alive—and a battle to keep myself unaffected by the attractive fae who drives me crazy.

“Moonlight Stranger,” by Stormie Black was so so good I couldn’t help but start it as soon as possible and then proceed to finish it the very same day!!🖤

I am really enjoying this series! I’m new to Urban Fantasy but it’s very interesting and entertaining and I’m a huge fan!! I love that there is so much happening in this story, but I didn’t feel overwhelmed once! It was very well written and I am completely invested in what’s to come!

Kat, Aris, Val, and Trystan have quite a lot going on, you can’t help be be sucked in! Also Stormie did so great with introducing new characters and getting me all intrigued about what will happen with them in the next book as well!

This whole book was an adventure and I absolutely was glad to be along for the ride!! It’s wonderful and book 3 cannot come soon enough! If you like Fae, magic, love, and some mystery, you definitely will want to be checking out this series and this book! “Moonlight Stranger,” releases May 9th!!

Seriously, Stormie Black? A cliff hanger??? What you authors do to us poor defenseless readers...

My heart twisted so many times while reading this story, and there's quite a twist close to the beginning of the book that I did NOT see coming. Well, a couple of them, actually.

Listen. If an author can put you in the midst of a purple mist/smoke swirling up around you, and if an author makes you see-for just an instant-the smoke that rises from a deal that's been struck, and if an author makes you see the shapes that a shapeshifter takes on, well, that's an author you need to be reading.

So, if you like fantasies (with shapeshifters and selkies and fae, oh my!), then you definitely want to read these books. But start with Midnight Rider as they aren't standalones.

I'm pretty sure Stormie Black has ruined me for other fantasy books. Nothing else will compare to these.

Moonlight Stranger is the second in Stormie Blacks Fae of Falls River fantasy series. I am honored to be given this ARC. I mean what can be said besides if you haven’t read these you are missing out. I was on the edge of my seat the whole time (technically I’ve been on the edge of my seat since I finished Midnight Rider and have been waiting for this book) and Stormie threw in so many great exciting surprises I did not see coming. In Moonlight Stranger they are on a rescue mission for Kat who isn’t aware she’s been taken (you have got to read this). I love the strong family bonds, the building of family bonds, how important friendship is, how hard betrayal is from family and the one’s you love, and that forgiveness doesn’t always come easily. This book has it all. I’m not sure if I have ever read a book that basically has three love stories all entwined and it’s wonderful. I enjoyed each chapter switching up who that chapters perspective came from allowing you to feel and know what’s going on inside everyones heads and hearts. There’s battles between fleshly desires vs. stepping back and evaluating is this just my desires taking over or is this the right choice? There are for sure swoon worthy, and steamy kissing scenes but this is a clean romance book and does not go beyond kissing and no foul language. As book two ends in another cliff hanger having me ready for book 3!! I hope you check this out if your into fantasy stories or want to try out your first fantasy series. If you do let me know. I could read this series a second time for sure!

So, in this book we were supposed to see more of Trys and Val's story and even though we did (and I liked it), I have to say that I felt they were not the main focus of the story. We do get to see how the story continues unfolding... and, while our main characters are dealing with the previous issues, the author manages to introduce new characters and, at the same time, complicates the situation. 🫠🫠

Still, having more to Aris and Kat's story was such a stress relief cause their situation seemed to get worse every time and was glad how their story turned out in this book.😍

Once again I have to say, yes, the book is spice free, but there were some detailed scenes that had more details than what I would have liked, but nothing R rated or anything like that.

So, I have read both books in the series without stopping because the story is a continuous and intriguing one. Sadly, now I have to wait until August 2023 to get book 3 😭... such is the life of us bookworms 🤷🏻‍♀️

Toodles and blessings ⚘️

An enthralling, suspenseful, swoony, witty, sweet, touching, and clean urban fantasy romance. It was engaging from the first chapter, that one would keep flipping through pages till the end and say, "Oh, I can't wait for the next book!"

Character growth and the love story of the three fae siblings were well captured, and it draws you into the plot, make you swoon over and over again fanning your face, and squeal! Really! Saying it was AMAZING would be an understatement. I'm so obsessed with this series and the characters—oh, and not to mention dear Trystan 😍

I highly recommend 'Fae of Falls River' series to all who love fantasy romance! Just be sure to read Midnight Rider first since Moonlight Stranger can't be read as a standalone.

Can't wait for the third one! Thanks to the author for my ARC. All the opinion is mine.

This series is just amazing! I cannot read the books fast enough and am now counting down until book 3!

Typically when books don't have a happily ever after for a couple by book 1 then I get bummed. But this series is so perfect that I love that we get more time with each couple and character.

Every couple is just so well thought out with different things that makes their relationship unique. I love watching all their relationships move at different paces and experience different challenges and successes. But the chemistry of each couple is just amazing!

This book does end on a cliffhanger but ahh I'm so excited for book 3 I don't even care!

Captivating sequel to clean urban fantasy book,, Midnight Rider

The first book in the series (Midnight Rider) reeled me in and I was anticipating this story. It did not disappoint. I was hooked from the beginning and willingly took the ride through twists and turns. This second book expanded the characters and POV chapters and it was seamlessly done. Both Kat and Val, the heroines of the story, prove themselves to be fierce in their own right. The chemistry between the heroines and the heros heat up in this sequel while still remaining a clean read.
The only drawback is now I'll have to wait for the next book to come out! Here's your cliffhanger alert!!

What a rush!

Clean sweet swoony fantasy romance. This is book 2 and it picks up right where the book ended. But I will warn that this is a series and book 2 ends on another cliffhanger!
Kat's been abducted, Aris is trying not to tear the world apart to get her back. Val and Trystan are still circling each other. We have another POV with Dari added to the mix.
Fun, fast, and well written. Oh, that ending!

Overprotective Nerdy Fae? Yes, please!

I loved the continuation of the Fae of Falls River series. Trys is definitely a hero I can swoon over. Just know this is a series that needs to be read in order, and each book ends in a cliffhanger. I can’t wait for the next book!

If you love Fantasy, you will love these novels! Moonlight Stranger is book two in the Fae of Falls River series. I’m in love!
Trystan is my favorite Fae! But Aris is amazing too!!
This book is full of twists and surprises, action, laughs, romance, and of course magic. I love the new characters in this book. If it weren’t for the evil twin I’d for sure want to visit this world :)

Perfect clean fantasy still packed with swoony moments!

Favorite Trystan moment: “ “You’re undoing me, darling, do you know that? A little at a time, but no less devastating.” In my dream, his arms tighten around me as he continues, “And I don’t ever want you to stop.”

This book was an adventure! Magic, uncertainty, forgiveness, forgetfulness, love and more. Moonlight Stranger is the second book in the trilogy and you’ll want to read Midnight Rider first. I love the depth of character brought to the entire multicast and I canNOT wait until the third book to find out what happens.

Thanks to the author for the eARC. All opinions are my own.

After the cliffhanger from the first book, I was dying to read this book and find out what happened next! And now I really want book 3, which is a testament to this book and how much I enjoyed it. 😂

This urban fantasy has multiple POVs, and I loved each of them! It was so much fun to see the story unfurl through different characters’ eyes, and I was invested in each POV.

I don’t want to say much about the story so I don’t spoil anything from the first book, but this series is a great choice for readers who want clean and swoonworthy romance in an urban fantasy setting!

I voluntarily read and reviewed a copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Moonlight Stranger was so good! Few sequels manage to do what this one has: up the stakes and tension going in the story world, while giving the reader more of what they loved in the first one (romantic chemistry, swoony moments, passionate kisses, siblings' relationships as well as banter, and characters' growth, to name a few.)

Kat and Aris' story is heart-wrenching yet beautiful, and they're made all the stronger because of the trials they face (hang on, it's all worth it in the end!) Valerie has so much growth in this one, both personally as well as with Trystan. Their chemistry is off the charts and their banter is just as fun. Darianna and Falke were the best surprise of the book, and while we get their background story, I'm so looking forward to knowing how things will play out in the future for them (so much past history + potential!) Speaking of surprises, Lorcan is a big one too, and I just loved the whole new layer he added to this book.

Of course, there are some mysteries and intrigue that haven't been completely resolved yet, so I'm definitely looking forward to the next installment in this series. So, as with the previous one, be prepared to be sucked into the continuation of this epic adventure, full of danger, magic, mystery, sweet romance, and fantastical creatures. Seriously, just clear your schedule since once you start it, you'll be flipping the pages as fast as you can, all the way till that totally breath-holding, heart-pounding, cliffhanger ending. Can't wait for the next one! ~ 5 stars!

Romance level: kissing 🔥

I love this series so much. This book had me at the edge of my seat, not reading fast enough to figure out what was going on.

Tristan is the cutest. He's so sweet, intelligent, caring. He took a spot in my bookish heart. He was sweet, thoughtful, patient, kind & so smart.

I love Aris, as always. He's just the best. I love how the stories are intertwined & you can still see what's going on with Kat & these two lovebirds.

Their first kiss was so tender & sweet. You had the tension building up in book 1 & it didn't disappoint. The chemistry was off charts 🔥. I love how passionate Tristan was. And...may I say that passion came to the surface when he was with Val?😍🔥

Those kisses? 🔥are you kidding me? The hall one was wow. Tristan was possessive but not in a creepy way. He just knew what he wanted and went for it. Always respecting Val's decision & boundaries.

I love having a little bit more background of Dari's story. She has been a mistery since the other book.

That ending? Nearly killed me. I just wished I could say more. My apologies to Stormi for having me in your dm venting about this plot. I just couldn't. What a way to finish this book! Also, Falke? 🐺 I was so not expecting it & I was so excited for that plot twist.

You know I'm already super excited for book 3. You have to read this series. 👌🏻

Moonlight Stranger is the perfect sequel to Midnight Rider featuring more of my favorite fae, Trystan. LOL I loved him in MR and I'm so glad that we got to get more in his head in this book. I also really came to love Val! Their chemistry is *chef's kiss* and I can't wait to get more of them in the next book.

This book seriously took me through all the feels. Suspense, action, laughs, serious romantic tension and swoon, and so much more! I may have shed some tears at certain parts.

If you love urban fantasy, romance without the spice, sibling bonds, cool magical elements, and more, then you have to read this series!

Welcome back to Falls River!

Angst meter went up with book two and BEWARE it ends on a cliffy but the third book is out so dive in! Moonlight Stranger picks right up after the end of Midnight Rider and there is a great balance between Kat's storyline and the progression of Val's. Trystan!! He has one upped Aris in my eyes! A lot of family bonds happening in this one and unfortunately a lot of trouble from someones evil twin -_- but If you enjoy clean urban fantasy then Stormie Black will be an auto read/buy.

I received an eARC from the author, all opinions are my own 😊

be ready for a tornado of emotions as you read book 2

Not only the “plot thickens” but it sure takes you on a roller coaster as you see the characters grow, mature, deal with betrayals and heart aches, and find love.
The fantasy world is broader and the magic is stronger in this installation.

However, please be aware kidnapping, abandonment, lack of parental love, and other hard issues are present.
It’s clean but though kissing scenes are passionate without much detail. “Undressing” with eyes and naked torsos are here as well. Just be aware if it’s not your cup of tea.

Cliffhanger Ahead

Kat is the reason I read this book, but she is completely fooled and unlike herself for the first half of the story. I was disappointed.

There were lots of interesting twists here, but the relationship between Trystan and Valerie promised by the cover and the blurb didn’t get to be stated. So I feel like the author didn’t deliver on her promise.

I am forced to read the final book in the series because…cliffhanger. One star penalty just for that.

Moonlight Stranger is every bit as swoony and page-turning the first book in the Fae of Falls River series! New characters are introduced, the action is ramped up a few more notches, and the romantic entanglements become more complex. If you love high-stakes urban fantasy, romantic suspense, and stories about faes, don't miss the Fae of Falls River series! But be warned, this book ends on a cliffhanger so be prepared to download the final installment of the trilogy!

Moonlight stranger

This instalment was intense and a smidge agonizing. But the agony let up eventually, even though the intensity still held strong. And I am loving seeing from multiple perspectives. I am definitely looking forward to seeing how they save the day
