Mafia, age gap, marriage for protection
It had an enjoyable storyline and moved at a good pace.
There suspense, lots of feels, drama, and spice.
I liked both main characters, but Damien stole the show for me.
His protective and possessiveness made me love him more.
It was good to see Vasilisa grow a little. I love that Damien constantly tried to reassure her.
Overall, I thought it was a great read. I can't wait for book 2, because I need to know what happens next.

Loved this book! The storyline, the characters and the chemistry is a great mix 😃
It touches upon dark themes, largely the FMC’s background so so check your TWs but in a chance encounter she’s saved by the Saint who will not stand for the abuse of innocent women! And boy does he quickly become obsessed with this Queen 😍She has an inner spark and strength to have suffered all she has but still willing to take a chance on this stranger 💪 especially when she begs for his protection via marriage 😮 Saint is definitely a male with a 🔪 tendency to protect his wife but he’s also adorably devoted to her and her happiness! But can he truly keep his promises to protect her and keep her safe from her intended fiancé?! Let’s hope book two brings some answers 😅

Damien (The Saint) is the epitome of an anti-hero especially with his job within his family. With his backstory when his path crosses with Vasilisa (FMC) he became a bit protective and a bit more violent. For me that's when the book became more engaging for me. The dynamic that they had together was tentative a first but quickly became sweet & funny as well as steamy too. Which brought Vasilisa more out of her shell I thought. It was a cracking start and that cliff-hanger ending was naughty catching me off guard that's for sure.

I’ve been waiting for this book! It’s written by one of my favorite authors. Mafia, age gap, marriage for protection It had an enjoyable storyline and moved at a good pace. Everything needed for an amazing story.

The novel was perfect.. perfect.. perfect... but the cover was really bad.
The story broke my heart💔 What Vasilisa went through was heartbreaking in every sense of the word Poor girl couldn’t even breathe in peace—abuse, humiliation, mistreatment from her father and he sold her like a piece of merchandise… Her life was sad throughout the whole novel I cried with her😭😭😭😭😭
Her compensation came in the form of Saint Marshall🔥
Damian literally adores the ground she walks on care, love, tenderness He made up for all the sadness she went through he was the medicine to her wounds🥺He was very gentle with her and protective he saved her, married her, and took revenge for her on everyone who hurt her
He tells her beautiful words that boost her self confidence. And she wants to grow she didn’t surrender to her reality or live the role of the victim on the contrary she tries to fight and learn to live again and forget the ghosts of her past She really is a queen👑just like Damian tells her.
And Damian’s personality is wonderful though he’s a criminal & mafia and a killer he has principles and he’s kind and considerate his personality is warm his whole life he searched for love and care and he found it with Vasilisa.
The couple is a reward for each other she seeks his satisfaction and he seeks her happiness and protection. They have no limits when it comes to caring for one another.
They are the warmest and closest couple to my heart their relationship was pure love not lust❤️🩹

This book didn’t just hook me in, it dragged me in, I was ready to devour it and enact my rage for the characters on anyone who tried to pull me away.
From the get-go my heart was breaking, desperate for someone with decency, so it was given that I’d fall for the first man who did, even if his was introduction showcasing his carving skills, that’s the kind of red flag I can be on board with.
However, while it might have been a given at first, that switched up real quick, because I didn’t just fall; I threw myself into the darkness, no hesitation, bungee jump style! His calm execution, softly approach, and then the handing over of power… I’m done for 😵🫠
And that was only the beginning, I kept bungee jumping at every level, the spice, the spoiling, the safety, the TLC, her healing into a bad b!tch, just everything!! This book has birthed something in me beyond obsession and a piece of my soul will be wondering around lost until the next book.

Okay, more like 4* but I haven't read a mafia book I liked as much as this one lately and the main guy was all green lights. And, this book has a few reviews so far.
Damien saves Vasilisa from being auctioned off by her dad. Book 1 was basically seeing how they get to know each other and he helps her be strong and confident. That I liked. He was great and loving. And, wanted to hurt anyone who hurt her in the past. And, it was just a lot of sex scenes basically which isn't my fav when a book is made up of mostly them. But, whatever.
The main thing I had an issue was that it wasn't a page turner. In the start he saves her and kills everyone. They go to his house where they spend a large portion of the book. She wants to get married to protect herself from having to marry that other guy her dad promised her to. They have lots of sexy time. And, the last page is a cliffhanger when her brother shows up. So, really I didn't feel it was a fast pace book which I usually love. I kind of get she wanted this to be a duet. So, I hope at least all the action is in the second book. Just wish we didn't have to wait until next year.

This was amazing. I love how much Damien cares for Vasilisa and how not only does he save her from her f’ed up fate and horrible family but gives her a way to save herself as well. I just love that so much, the way he empowers her to make decisions (and just empowers her in general) and treats her like a queen and just utterly worships her. Just all the “yes please”. I can’t wait to read the second book! Very well done. Love this so much!

I love Saint and Vasilia together. This is a darkish mafia romance with a few TWs. Vasilia is a strong FMC who has been through a lot is is trying to prevent from being used as her father's Pawn. Saint is very much protective and should take down the world for Vasilia. This was a page turning read for me that had me until the last page with that twist.

I absolutely LOVED this book. I randomly crossed a snippet on TikTok and was in a rut, so I decided ‘why not.’ And I’m SOO happy I did! I fell in love with Damien right off the bat, and watching Vas flourish and bloom? I am so here for this duet, and cannot wait to start book 2 and see how happy my babies in love end up !

Really messed up but fun to read! These are the best kinds of books to get lost in because I have no expectations of realism just obsessive MMCs and sweet naive FMCs. Highly recommend checking trigger warnings!!

It was fine I guess. It was super short and kept me entertained enough to finish it. I hated the smut. It was way too long, cringy, and uncomfortable.
