Partnership with a Purpose is the newly launched concept this book cycle for Beautiful By Design (BBD). This is where members of BBD will partner with another member to host. This includes everything from developing the discussion questions, planning the menu, and selecting the next book for us to read. This guarantees we will at least complete three (3) books this year! The Partnership with a Purpose kickoff started with collaborative efforts between DeAnna and Courtney. Since this was in February, they created a Galentine’s Day theme where we wore red or pink. From the festive decorations and wonderfully prepared meal to the probative questions that led to some very intimate discussions, it was a great, insightful meeting. Thank you, ladies! Madame President recommended the book, “Fantasy Island” by author Pyrple for this cycle. The book received 4.7 out of a 5-star rating by BBD that has been rounded up to 5.0 Stars on Goodreads.
This was an excellent read about friends that were more like sisters. It covered many aspects of real-life scenarios in recognizing the essence of true friendships and relationships that makes the reader stop to evaluate their own. It was well-written with relatable and well-developed characters where we could identify with them on some level. Maybe even seeing ourselves hanging out with a few. Although the title suggests something very erotic, {spoiler} which it does not lack in that area, but that was not the main focus. It was mainly about a group of ladies who have foraged a bond so tight that it was unbreakable. And, they stopped at nothing to be together when necessary. It showed the true meaning of friendship/sisterhood, something that every woman needs and deserves. Oftentimes, we, as women, lose ourselves with our families, work, and life in general, but how great is it to take time out each year to just be free and do you. This book evoked a lot of different emotions, but most of all an appreciation for the friendships we have established over a lifetime. Happy Valentine’s Day and hopefully you and your special someone can take a trip to Fantasy Island.
What About Your Friends??? This book was so good. It was funny, it was spicy, it was sad — and it had me hooked from the start. I absolutely loved the dynamic between the four girls. Their friendship felt real, raw, and relatable. The way they showed up for each other, even through the messiness, made my heart ache in the best way. This was my first book by Pyrple, but it will definitely not be my last. I’m already counting down the days until the second book drops. I need more of these girls in my life!
I enjoyed this book. It is nothing that I would do, but the scenes leading up to going to Fantasy Island were good. I could understand how the ladies felt when their friend passed away. It's hard loosing someone you really love and especially to something like cancer. I feel like there's another book after this. I would read it.
Writing style is refreshing. I was pleasantly surprised at how much it made me lol.
It was wordy at times.. so it kinda felt like the space wasn’t being optimized. I wish there was more picture painting. The ending was very sudden but I suppose I understand the reasoning. Left me pretty curious ab the sequel
Slow start but ended up being more than I thought it would be which was a good surprise. Hated that I got to the end and was hit with the “to be continued” but I look forward to reading the next one!
PYRPLE! Baby you did your thing with this book! The characters and their stories were well developed. The book grab me from the beginning. Just don't have me waiting 2 years for the sequel lol. Love it!
