The sequel series to Plus-Sized Elf (also from Seven Seas), the hit manga about an elf struggling to lose weight after she discovered human French fries!
Massage therapist Naoe Tomoatsu certainly has his hands full. Not only does he have his job at the Smiley Boar clinic, but he’s inadvertently become the go-to health expert for all sorts of bodacious fantasy babes, especially fry-loving elf, Elfuda! Now that she’s back under his roof and rounder than when she arrived, will Naoe-kun be able to help Elfuda keep the weight off for good this time?
Same familiar stories, setting, characters and funny hyjinks. Still very tittilating but seemingly less straight up nudity, which is sad imo but doesn’t ruin it (they even censor parts but I have a feeling it was for the comedic effect)
Hopefully they are able to squeeze in more nipples into the next one!
Elfuda, a charming elf, finds herself unable to return to her world due to her unhealthy addiction to junk food, specifically french fries. Despite her efforts to diet, she is unable to meet the weight limit required for entry through the door back to her world. Fortunately, she decides to stay with her friend Naoe for a little while longer and seeks his advice. Together, they encounter various female fantasy creatures, all struggling with their own weight issues. However, Elfuda's love for fries has caused her to gain too much weight, preventing her from using the portal home. With Naoe's help, through massage therapy and healthy living advice, Elfuda is able to shed her extra pounds and finally return home. Naoe's life was uneventful until Elfuda's arrival, which brought a succession of otherworldly girls with weight problems into his life. Each chapter introduces a new character, from a sedentary dark elf unable to fit into her mystical clothes, to a mermaid with flabby arms due to lack of swimming, to a plant woman whose overgrowth is causing her physical discomfort. Despite the quirky and diverse characters, the story seems to only focus on their weight struggles, with each female character being a one-dimensional stereotype. This lack of depth may leave a negative impression, considering the current climate of body positivity.
I would like to say I enjoyed it but to be honest it was kind of sickening and kind of disturbing. I am aware it is a comedy, but nothing was funny.
Overall synopsis : slice of life manga about elves and other mystical creatures with huge boobs trying to lose weight in order to get through the teleporter to get back to their home world.
I have not read the first run of the series. This sequel is all I could get so far from my library system. So, my thoughts are centered on this book only. My opinions my change after I read more books in the series. Maybe there is more humor and heart in the first series. But as is this book is nothing special with redundant jokes, and characters that are one dimensional, and not that interesting.
However, I want to give a big thank you for the introduction pages of the character art and descriptions. These always help when starting a new series with multiple established characters.
Pretty decent volume. I think it spent way too much time establishing and explaining the characters, which is odd because I imagine the only people who would read this are people who already read the original series. Other than that it was cute and fun.
