This is a great collection of rock star reads! Each rocker is not the same - they might all be in "the biz" but that doesn't mean that they all handle it the same way. Some stories are OTT "rocker lifestyle," some are more focused on the emotional tolls of the life. But EVERY story is beautifully written & full of characters that will crawl into your heart. ; )
The Right Man by Michelle Mankin
Rush & Jewel - their story is full of heartache but also healing, and on the heat scale - bonfire!!
I started out a bit trepidatious about the story. Rush starts out showing off his rock-n-roll manwhoring ways, of which I'm not a fan. And Jewel... I'm not a fan of the career choice she's been forced into. I don't like that for her (not that we're supposed to) & it hurt my heart. So, their initial sexy time interactions didn't work for me. The WHOLE story is well-written (including those scenes), however.
I highly enjoyed their non-job-related time together. They have this amazing connection, and discover the muse that each is to the other, which was some beautiful writing!
All in all, I highly recommend this story. I can't gush about the writing enough - I love the cadence and the way all the characters are portrayed (even when I didn't like what they had to go through). I loved seeing some cameos from other stories by this author! And it was a quick read, as well, very engaging story.

Oceanside
Fanny & Ash pulled me in straight away. Their story is intense and complex, and the obstacles they face are unique. Unique to the book world, altho Ash's obstacles are, I think, common issues that have been overlooked in recent years.
There are some parts I wasn't a fan of - glimpses of Ash's pre-Fanny life that were too detailed for me, altho I understand why they were included. I did skip around those, not fully reading them as they were personal hard no's.
Aside from that, I love the pacing of the story, the friendship & road to trust each of them must take to get to their (also unique and complex) HEA. Seeing the couples from the earlier books was a treat, and seeing how they are all FAMILY, how they are all connected and work at those connections was truly mesmerizing and beautiful to read.
I love Fanny's strength and resilience, Ash's dominance and care, and both of their protection for each other! This is an amazing story, full of love, hope, and promise. I'm very interested to see updates & to read Hollie's story! : )
Strange Magic
Strange Magic is beautifully written, full of vivid imagery & each chapter begins w/ a fitting quote. Part one of the story opens with Billy Blade, country/rock star with a very ... special ... talent. We see that he's at the top but also near rock bottom. He's a very intriguing character for sure! Soon, we shift over to Thyme's POV, and we see that she also has some special talents, although she doesn't realize it quite yet. She loves her town, her gramma, her ice cream shop. And she loves Shane. What will she do for that love?
This is quite a dark story, and very well done!

The Right Man
This book is my new favorite by Michelle Mankin, I love rockstars, I love Cinderella stories, this one starts just like the movie Ever After, and loved the idea, this story was amazing for both cases. Rush McMahon and Jewel Anderson are now on my favorite couple lists. The transformation they both did together was a roller-coaster very well done, how Jewel had to do anything to survive and how they meet. I loved reading other previous characters in this story as well. The ending was more than perfect. I am looking forward to the author’s next book.
Southside High
Lace's story is fantastic, I couldn't put it down! Southside High is intriguing and a place I would love to visit if I could, as it started it all for one of my favorite books the Tempest Rockstar Series. Bryan and War, I love them both in their own way. I can't wait to get the next in the series, this love triangle is going to be killing me slowly. Brilliant 5 stars!
Hot Summer School Night
This story is set from the Tempest series, this is the story of Kyle, one we were missing to finally get inside his story. He meets Claire, they come from opposite sides but when they collide sparks fly, and then they just need to find their way. The good girl and the bad boy with chemistry off the charts and a pull they can't deny. I am so glad we get more of them in Breaking Her Bad. This Hot Summer School Night is one you will remember and want to experience all over again.
Rock F*ck Club
Who doesn’t love a Hot Rock Star book boyfriend? This book took it to the next level. Raven had a boyfriend cheating on her and makes her start the Rock F*ck Club to get revenge. This time she will get 10 rock stars on her terms, but then Lucky happened and everything changes.
This book had me reading it in one sitting. It got me dragged from chapter one to the last page. Michelle Mankin got this storyline to where nobody had wondered and was refreshing to read a new plotline. When the heroine is calling the shots while the hot rock stars beg for her to do so, is a type of story you will want to read.
I look forward to whatever the author writes next, this was my first book from her and I already had her on the following basis.

Good writing!!!
I didn't realize I've read most of these before, but that's okay. A well written book will suck you into the story again and again... This author is high on my list of favorites. She doesn't disappoint. Great memorable characters too...
