The Prymalis continue their assault on the various homeworlds of the Milky Way. Max’s device for exterminating the ancient species has proven to be a dead end. And now the enemy appears to have set its sights on the most populated planet of all – Kapamentis.
Can the squabbling empires put aside their differences for long enough to stop the Prymalis? Or is the crew of the Adeona all that stands in their way?
The fate of the galaxy – and the trillions of lives that inhabit it – rests in their hands.
The Fatal Dark is the ninth and last book in the bestselling Final Dawn series. If you like page-turning Space Operas, then you’ll love this exciting Science Fiction adventure.
The Fatal Dark by T.W.M. Ashford. Final Dawn, Book 9. Everything comes to an end. A brilliant read. What an ending to this series. I loved the Story. I love this series. 5*.
The last book in the Final Dawn series and it doesn't disappoint!
The book, the overarching stories and the series itself are satisfyingly resolved while leaving enough interesting points to continue the wider Dark Star Panorama series.
If you've reached this fair into the series you should already be familiar with Ashford's easy to digest and humorous reading style.
The Fatal Dark also shows his ability to portray action, conflict and tension, I imagine strengthened by his work on the War for New Terra series.
The Final Dawn has been a brilliant series and I'm so glad it's part of a wider series so we can continue to quite literally see the universe expand.
From the first book, I was hooked on this series. Following the adventures of Jack, the last of the humans, a myriad of alien species, including Klik the Krettelian, and Rogan and Tuner, two automata, each story builds on the previous book with plenty of action and twists.
The creative world building is superb, with a lot of imagination and futuristic details, and the characters become like old friends.
I can't wait to read the other books set in the same universe, and see where the author's imagination takes us! Highly recommended.
Loved this series. A fitting end, although it never does quite seem to end for Jack and crew. If you have read the rest of the series, you cannot miss this one! All of may favorite characters are back, along with tiny odds of a seemly unsolvable problem. Of course they don't give up! I enjoyed it like a comfy sweater, familiar and feels good.
Pretty bummed to have reached the end of this series. It has been one of those series where you get emotionally invested in the characters and you’re truly sorry to see them go.
This series got better and better. I will miss these characters and their adventures. This is one of the few series that I'm tempted to go back and reread almost immediately just to catch the details that I didn't get the first time through.
I loved all the books! However, this ending didn’t sit well with me, it felt rushed. I have so many questions as to events that happened at the end of the battle.
Oh this was a fab ending to a good old romp through space. It felt familiar and comfy like an old captain's chair with cameo's from characters past and the mention of a few new species. Everything came together - I had a bit of a sneaky suspicion of what would happen and I was inordinately pleased that I was in the ballpark. I got the whole 'I need to read this faster because I have to know what happens right now' feeling that I love getting when reading.
