The Perfect Candidate

Rate this book
Lance Priest is 21, a college student and a part-time used car salesman. He's also a liar, a chameleon, a different person to everyone who meets him. This makes him unique. It also brings him to the attention of the CIA and those tasked with finding that one person who can do what others cannot. Lance may be THE PERFECT CANDIDATE. To prove he has what it takes, Lance must pull off impossible covert missions and defeat deadly operatives plotting to sell nuclear warheads to a murderous regime on the eve of Operation Desert Storm. There is no Lance will succeed, let alone survive. If Seibel€™s training doesn€™t kill him, a deadly Saudi assassin and a pair of lethal former KGB agents just might. And then there is Marta Sidorova, a rogue KGB operative who kills almost everyone she meets. Things will get messy. Life will never be the same for Lance. Perfect Candidate

Chose not to give a top rating because the book is as difficult to follow as it was. The concept and action story plot is calculated to keep you off balance but it gets way off as you near the end, almost as though Metcalf got tired of writing and decided to fast forward to whatever his next adventure would be. Still a good read and worth the try.

Tremendous Start to the Seriesp

This was an easy 5 stars for me.
Lance draws you in quickly. CM develops elaborate characters and puts them in such descriptive scenes you can't wait to find out what happens next.
A little clunky with the style in the first few chapters, but this book explodes half way in.
This is a superb spy story! I'm ready for Lance's next mission.
